On Egin in Berlin

I hoped my search for a good tapas shop would end here. Unfortunately, the disappointment was great. The service is nice, but that's about it. The dining room is anything but inviting, it smelled like sewage and was cold. Once I saw Spain from the airplane window, the food was greasy and, at best, tasted like nothing. It was expensive for that… Too bad. The online impression was initially positive. The disappointment was even greater. Sorry but never again. The highlight was a dish that was advertised as containing chorizo, but was made with bacon. When we asked, we were told that it was a different type of chorizo. So to top it off, he also lied.

Id avoid if you like good food. From the reviews it looks like this place was good pre covid, taken over by non spanish who are using the positive Google Review to get customers. Usually I wouldnt leave a bad review and sabotage a business but for the price we paid, this was a waste of time.

We had some jamón, croquetas and calamari. The jamón tasted like it was straight from the fridge supermarket—cold, gummy, and overly salty with no real flavor. The croquetas had a bad texture and were tasteless. The calamari, cooked with caramelized onions, was definitely not fresh—overcooked, chewy, and flavorless. The bread served it was still cold from the freezer. I ended up with food poisoning. Prices are very high considering what you get

I've already been there 3 times. The first time the waiter was very attentive and the drinks were delicious. The other two times it was the opposite because there was a different waitress there. Some of the cocktails tasted terribly sour because the mixing ratio wasn't good. The service hardly came to the table on its own, despite empty drinks and plates. The food is ok but not outstanding either.

We tried many different dishes and all of them where exquisite and properly done. Very good.

We found this little corner of Spanish tapas and we were delighted 😍!! The eggplant and bravas are spectacular. The service was very attentive to us at all times!! I will definitely return!

Hmm. I remembered the restaurant better… Unfortunately there was something wrong with every dish: olives and oranges are not the best combination as it tastes slightly expired; baked rolls that didn't come with aioli; Croquettas that were sweet and had a cinnamon flavor. It's a shame, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio isn't right at all.

The small shop is easy to find and can be heard thanks to the authentic musical background that calls you to you from afar. The first plus point is for the warm food until 00:00. --> that saved us the evening and was ideal in the warmer days! The service was quick and courteous and always looking for a little chat --> very personable ☺️ The menu offers the classics of Iberian cuisine: Chorizo ​​al Vino, Patatas Bravas, Queso y Jamón and many other delicacies. Add a glass of Rioja and the dinner was perfect. However, you should probably not cut the chorizo ​​but rather cook it whole so that it stays juicier. In summary, you are a great address for the coming warm months. You are friendly and warm and you immediately feel welcome! Our pasamos are very good and they are always volveremos❤️ P.s. There is live music once a week, so don't miss it!

Unfortunately, the aioli on the potatoes was watery. And the bread seemed from three days ago. When I asked the lady serving it, she said it was the other waiter's mistake, even though she brought the bread from the kitchen. It's a shame :((

Best spanish restaurant with delicious food and tasty cocktails

It is the best Spanish restaurant in Berlin. The mix of classic tapas and basque food, together with the price, makes it the best choice to enjoy some Spanish food. Owners changed. Not the best anymore

Wir waren einige Jahre nicht bei on egin, das früher mal eine richtig gute authentische Tapas-bar war. Jetzt gibt es Plastik Karten und ein paar Standard Gerichte die alles andere als handgemacht waren. Die Jungs waren sehr nett aber es war nicht lecker und nicht schön.

The food quality is not good. The environment and atmosphere is fine but the food was not tasty. You could taste the oil that has been frying for days.

¡Food poisoning! - I was there yesterday with my family and I am very disappointed. The tapas came very quickly and were not freshly prepared, but warmed up. The mushrooms with caramelized goat cheese were undercooked and appeared to have bacteria or viruses. After visiting the restaurant, I spent the whole night over a bucket, crying my heart out. Never again!

Service was nice but the quality has been decreasing over the years. The ham was super chewy and the huevos estrellados was far from good. The food in general wasn't good

Choose it if you want to spend a nice evening in a warm environment and with fast and friendly service. But don't choose the fish tapas! Generous portions and normal prices. The dates and mushrooms with garlic are very good. Avoid the octopus with potatoes, shrimp and fish croquettes :( I'll leave you some photos. The sangria is also good!

Essen war sehr gut und der Kellner/ Besitzer (?) war super lieb! Hat unseren Berlin Abend perfekt gemacht 🥰🫶🏻 spanische Freundlichkeit war definitiv da und die Datteln im Speck … Puhhh sind die lecker gewesen!

5 Sterne sind nicht genug! Super nette und aufmerksame Bedienung, lebhafter Laden, authentisch Spanisch, unglaublich lecker und vor allem: Gerade heutzutage große Portionen bei verhältnismäßig wenig Geld. Insgesamt ein sehr amüsanter Abend und ordentlich satt gewesen, nach nur drei Tapas! Der beste Spanier in Berlin!

The food was tasty but the service really overshadowed the food honestly. Everything we ordered arrived super late and our orders were forgotten twice. And in both occasions, we’ve reminded them and they said it was on the way, but again haven’t arrived. In our third reminder, we were told that they were out of what we ordered. Spent almost 3 hours here, not out of spending good time but just waiting for our orders. Leaving here bored and dissapointed.

Erlesene Auswahl von Tapaz mit sehr guter Qualität, auch viele vegane/vegetarische Optionen. Man kann dort im gemütlichen Ambiente den ganzen Abend verbringen und viele Köstlichkeiten probieren.

Wenn Sie spanisch essen möchten, kommen Sie hier nicht... Offensichtlich wurde on Egin an den anderen Besitzer verkauft und sie haben einfach keine Ahnung wie spanisch gekocht wird... Ausserdem wenn man eine Flasche Wein bestellt, bringt man Ihnen die Flasche bereits offen, wahrscheinlich wird in diese Flaschen ein Liter Lidl Wein eingefüllt und für 20€ hier serviert. Diese Menschen haben entweder keine Ahnung von gutem Essen oder sie machen es bewusst...

Service was nice, we got seated at the bar as a group since the place was full but they were happy to accommodate. Food was just ok. I would have liked the patatas to be crispier. The fried squid was good, very chewy.

Nach einigen Jahren waren wir wieder dort. Leider hat sich das Lokal deutlich verschlechtert, das Essen war unvollständig und einiges aus Tiefkühlprodukten hergestellt. Wirklich nichts besonderes, mäßiger Service. Man verpasst nichts, wenn man nicht hingeht. Schade.

Very good place for Tapas at good price.

Sehr nettes Personal, jedoch sehr schlechtes Essen. Ungewürzt, Essen kam sehr schnell, so dass man das Gefühl hat, dass das Essen nicht frisch zubereitet ist. Gambas waren winzig, kalt und nicht gewürzt. Oliven waren leider auch nicht lecker. Champignons in Weissweinsauce waren geschmacklich auch sehr fad. Würden nicht nochmal hingehen.

Was definitely the worst experience that I had in Berlin. The waitresses confused our order, all of them. Between them they were arguing about that in front of us. The food was not amazing. The attention so bad. And besides that, the guy that was out waiter, was asking for tips, just crazy.

Överprisad och tråkig mat, vi beställde ostbricka för 12 euro och gick en sorts ost i 8 bitar. Mycket som var ok men undersaltat. Välj inte skaldjur, värre än de frysta man kan köpa på mataffären tyvärr och bläckfisken behövde vi skicka tillbaka då den inte smakade något och var som en gummibit… trevlig personal, men helt ärligt var inget värt priset, man kan laga mycket bättre hemma!

The sangria isn't bad but isn't good either. It would be best for presentation purposes that it is served on wine glasses instead of regular glasses. The presentation of the tabla mixta is good, though the food is adapted to german tastes. I was expecting more variety in the cheeses and I didn't like the olives (because they came with slices of orange). The waiter was very friendly, kind, and attentive toward us. We enjoyed the calm atmosphere for talking and relaxing with friends. The restroom we clean and good too.

Jedes Gericht ist köstlich und authentisch zubereitet, mit den frischesten Zutaten. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

It used to be a good spot for authentic spanish food. Now low quality products, a lot of potato to fill you and no understanding of spanish cuisine. Service was kind, but didnt have any idea of spanish food and thats the reason I go to a restaurant. Unfortunately I will delete it from my list of spanish restaurant :(

What a joke! Horrible food. Has nothing to do with Spanish cuisine. Nothing was fresh, the taste was blunt and bad, no flavor whatsoever. Very expensive for no reason, you could smell the toilet in the main room, cold and don’t get me started on the interior. Not cosy, not fun, no music, nothing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Las croquetas son de patata y no de bechamel (casi lloro de decepción). Yo creo que eso u es un indicativo de lo que se puede esperar de la comida "española" de este sitio. Solía ser un sitio donde venía mucho a beber rebujito y cenar. Sinceramente no sé qué le ha pasado. Ni lo recomiendo ni volveré.
