Vivolo olé! in Berlin

We went in and stayed only because of the excellent guitar player! The man knows how to put on a show! In contrast, the food was just bad by any standard and very expensive, gave me stomach ache afterwards. The service was good.

There were six of us and everyone wasn't really happy with their food. The fish on my salad tasted very watery. One could assume it was thawed and fried or grilled without much effort. The tapas weren't particularly high quality either. At this point I have to mention the really bad service. We felt like we were just too much for the waiter, and when he kicked me at the end (probably accidentally) and didn't even apologize, it was just too much for me and I knew I would be this one Leave a review here. I will never go there again and the food is way too expensive. All very loveless

I've been here twice now. The first time I sat outside and ordered tapas. The 2nd time I went in and ordered a "regular dish" (chicken in white wine sauce). The service is great. They were always gentlemen who were both friendly and quick. The prices are okay. The topaz was great! In terms of price, you have to dig a little deeper into your pocket. But it's worth it. The chicken, on the other hand, wasn't that good. The sauce was tasty and it was well seasoned, but too dry. As I was sitting inside, a live musician came later who looked a little like Johnny Depp with a few more wrinkles 😅 But he really brought the mood into it and played his guitar well. I'm often critical when it comes to singing, but I enjoyed listening to him. I would have liked to stay but it got too loud to really have a good conversation. And that was my focus that evening. If you're interested in live music and tapas, you're in good hands here.

Unfortunately, as a solo traveler, I encountered an extremely pushy waiter. After a tiring day, I actually just wanted to have a leisurely meal. The dish was okay, a bit cold in parts, but I found the waiter's attempts to tell me how beautiful I was and the constant requests for eye contact and flirting to be quite disgusting. A woman traveling alone is definitely seen as fresh meat here, even if she only uses the word thank you out of politeness and otherwise doesn't engage in any verbal or non-verbal courtship. I found the rooms to be very nice.

We've been there several times. We always liked it very much, otherwise we wouldn't have repeated the visit several times. Today from around 9 p.m. a singer with a guitar and a penetrating amplifier. Sound like at a live concert. Doesn't fit into this atmosphere. Was probably the last visit here.

We were guests at the weekend, the tapas were good, the grilled meat was average. The service staff often seemed overwhelmed. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant both inside and outside. Only the Berlin rats disturb the picture a little outside. But it's like that everywhere on the Hake market. Without the loud "Spanish" singer, it would have been an even more pleasant stay.

I've been coming here every year for 3 years. As always, friendly staff and delicious fresh food. See you next time.

Lala is an incredibly nice service person and gave us very good advice! We have just arrived from Hamburg and were given a very friendly welcome. Cozy atmosphere and perfect for spending a relaxing evening. This is food is definitely recommended

Poor experience. Waiter took ages to serve us and favoured serving the large table of people that sat down after us. We were as patient as we could be after we finished our paella but waited 20 minutes to get the bill including asking 2 different staff members. Not impressed for our last night in Berlin.

We stopped for lunch. Heat and 32c. It's nice to be under the parasols and enjoy a delicious lunch.

We sat at a table and nobody came to ask us for a drink. They for sure saw us but did not want to come to us.. for no reason.. eventually, after no drinks, we left.

Unfortunately we sat with 6 people for 20 minutes and were not served. And no, it wasn't full. Not recommended.

Good location.... good tapas but really too long time to have paella... we were advised the the waiting time was of 45 mins but we wait for more than 75 mins ... Paella not so good the rice was cooked absolutely not crisp

The menu promised delicious food, don't be fooled. What came next wasn't that tasty. For a small handful of potatoes €8! The other tappas weren't very appetizing either. I also found the constant solicitation of guests very unpleasant. These were very desperate attempts to get guests into the restaurant.

We ended up eating in a Spanish restaurant in Berlin being Spanish, yes. But when your little one is tired of eating knuckle, sausages, snitzchel and potatoes in all their versions... just like us, there is no other choice. The food is of poor quality, and has nothing to do with the Spanish, apart from being very expensive. The ham croquettes are the only decent thing (€8 for 4 croquettes). Most of the waiters speak Spanish. We were served by a girl who was a little impertinent, she made some out of place comment or another. In addition, rats pass near your feet and roam around the entire terrace of the restaurant. The waiters laugh and say that nothing is happening, that it is something very normal and that they do nothing. Anyway, I don't even want to think about what that kitchen will be like. I don't recommend it at all.

Great Spanish tapas! Really good Spanish cuisine.

Very well located for tourism. You're almost sitting in the middle of it all. Personally, I thought the design of the restaurant was very nice. Definitely worth seeing.

It takes forever for the food to come. Then half of it is missing and the waiters seem overwhelmed. Small portions at relatively expensive prices. Not really worth it.

I've been to Vivolo many times and always found it very nice, but the store has declined significantly in recent years. The Pimentos de Padron used to be fried. Today they seem to be thrown into the deep fryer. Otherwise very very expensive, for little food.

It is a tourist area so the concept is aimed at that audience. The truth is I really liked the day it was although in general I don't like saturated places. We had the attention of a very friendly Argentine boy and we didn't have to wait almost anything.

Had spare rips, the worst I've ever eaten. Totally dry. Where there should be meat there was only dried fiber. Never again.

Horrible experience… If I were able to give the service 0 stars I definitely would. First of all it took ages to get recognition from the waiters. When we finally got our beers, the waiter spilled a beer all over us and destroyed our playing cards. This is a human error and that’s fine. But they wouldn’t give us any kind of refund. We talked to the waiter who spilled the beer, he was 100% on coke no doubt, we couldn’t have a normal conversation with him, he was threatening and aggressive. Never go here! -Emil

We had a terrible experience here. The waiter dropped a large beer over us so our clothes got soaked and playing cards destroyed. We then tried to speak to them about it and to find a solution, but they said they couldn’t do anything and threaten to call the police on us. The one person that served us was clearly on some substances, we believe that is was Coke. We really really recommend that you stay far away from this place. Worst experience of our lives.😡

We are vegan and we were ordering the vegan tapas. Friendly waiters, beautiful place. Unfortunately, some of the tapas that we had had were NOT VEGAN, don't know if were the Mojo salsa potatoes or the croquettes, because we had had a strong reaction to something had laktose (milk or cream or egg?) and we were feeling ill 30 minutes later. When you are vegan for longer than 6 months, the body don't produce ANYMORE the enzymes for can digest milk or cheese, and the reaction of the body is terrible painful during hours. Please, label the tapas as vegetarian or vegan correctly.

Staff unfriendly. I wouldn't recommend you to eat here, there were four of us at a table and three got their food and one person at our table only got their food after everyone else had finished, only got it after 45 minutes. The food was very little and you won't get enough of it. I don't recommend.

Staff is VERY rude and mean. Food is very expensive looking at their portion. Biggest problem is the attitude they have against customers. Nobody should tolerate this at an expensive resteurant.

Simply disappointing..Salad with chicken for just under 15 euros was more like a side salad in a kebab shop..Hamburger with fries without any side dish or color or aesthetic effect..Service was zero .had to ask 4x to get a drink and asked 3x for the bill...paid over 60€..wasn't worth more than 20€...but the waiter didn't care about the dissatisfied guest...never go there back again

The waiter, although I began to speak German, began to speak Italian/Spanish mixed with English, which led us to not understand anything. We asked for a table away from the noise of the football and we were pretty close. I also asked him to explain to me what the tapas mix included and he didn't give me an answer so we ordered extra tapas that were exactly what was in the Mix. I think they do it so that tourists spend more money. We didn't like the service at all, the food more or less.

The food was really good, I had meat balls in tomato sauce and rice with a Cola Zero. Poverty ferry was very busy so the restaurant was full. The staff who served were nice and attentive.

The paella was very oily and unfortunately did not taste very good despite a lot of fine ingredients. Service was below average. There were several rats and mice running around and you can think about that as you like.

How dare you be in business still?! This is outrageous. Several waiters and they can’t keep up with the guests and orders?! Really?! We were told that we need to keep drinking our beverages and our hunger will get better. 4 other tables that had people arrive after us got their food orders taken and food brought to them and they never got to us to even take our order. So rude. They kept on saying someone will come to take our order. No one ever came to take it. We paid for beverages and left. So not deserving of us being their guests and leaving them a nice tip as we usually do. We found another nice place that seated us immediately and food was awesome. Well… their loss. And we will keep telling people to avoid them. Again - their loss. Too bad. Maybe the manager can find better waiters. Just a suggestion as I know a thing or two about restaurant business.

We were so disappointed to be told after ordering beers and asking to order food that “if you drink more you will be more hungry” and then not seeing a waitstaff for over 45mins. We asked to order multiple times and every table around us ordered and received food. They did not want to serve Americans. Very disappointing. Wonderful atmosphere and we were meeting friends who spoke German and were served but when they saw how we were treated decided it wasn’t a place for them.

It took them a while to serve us but everything was ok regarding the staff. As for the food, we ordered a cheese plate which had been cut approx. two months…. It tasted like an old refrigerator and the quality was terrible 😅 as decoration they gave us some unwashed grapes, and instead of peaks a piece of frozen baguette that was subsequently burnt 🫣 All this for the modest price of €20 per small plate 🙂 I didn't have high expectations since the place is located in a very touristy area but the quality of the food was even below my expectations.

If you’re planing to go and visit Berlin, highly recommend to go to Vivola Ole, beautiful environment, fantastic Food, vibe and location in heart of Berlin, stuff are friendly and waiting time is actually nothing.

Had to wait 1h40min for the paella. Quantity and quality below any criticism - very disappointing.

5 small potatoes for 8€… The food was nothing special and not enough for the price. The waiters were inattentive, there was no question of whether everything was good (not even when paying) and you had to wait a long time until you were noticed. We wanted to watch a European Championship game, the sound was offset by 17 seconds from the picture. The restaurants around cheered and the boss just joked about it.

When we arrived at the half-empty terrace, it took a very long time before anyone spoke to us. Also when we asked a waiter to take our order, he told us to wait. All this was in a brutal and unfriendly tone. When a waiter came to take our order after a very long time, it was in a very unfriendly manner. Also when the drinks were brought to our table it was very rude. Some of us got a warm soft drink, others got a cold one. When we approached someone to ask for a cold soft drink, he gave us the answer 'I don't have a cold drink, that's why I gave you an ice cube in your glass.' All this again in a brutal and VERY UNFRIENDLY tone. Food is tasty, but on the pricey side. Ended up paying a lot for okay food and SUPER BAD SERVICE.

Since my original review was blocked, here it is again: We had reserved a table for 9 people weeks in advance for our daughter's youth consecration, which took place in the Friedrichstadtpalast, on Saturdays at 12 p.m. We received confirmation of this twice by email from the company email account. When we arrived on site, the restaurant was closed, Google suddenly showed different opening times (from 1 p.m.) and we now had to look for something else. How can something like this be, why didn't we get an email with any information? For me that's zero service and even though a shop like this is of course aimed primarily at tourists who are only there once anyway, something like that isn't possible! Alternatively, I would like to recommend the Tapas Bar 500 m further towards Alex, where we ended up: friendly, authentic atmosphere and delicious tapas. To my blocked first review, I received the outrageous response from Vivolo that I was reviewing on behalf of the competitor and that the opening hours had been like this for ages: Then simply no reservation confirmations should be sent! On April 15th, 2024 I received confirmation from the address restaurant at vivolo.de for April 25th, 2024 at 12 p.m. Twice!! Once signed by "retired Baker, Secretariat", once signed with "The Vivolo Team", signature in the email with the correct address of the restaurant. The second email went to another person in cc, possibly from the team?! I have the emails and can upload screenshots at any time. Instead of at least apologizing in this way, people are accused of fraud. This reaction leaves me speechless for a second time.

Today we have the best paella! When we are in Berlin we always come here for that. Even though the restaurant was completely full and there were only 2 conditions present, we had perfect service, very tasty food and a great ambience. We'd love to come back

We came across this restaurant right on Hackescher Markt by chance. I was skeptical at first because a man dressed as a chef was jumping around in front of the restaurant and trying to lure people into the restaurant. Something like this always sets off alarm bells for me. My doubts were quickly dispelled. The ambience is really pleasant. Rustic decor. And the service was nice and accommodating. I ordered the rabbit, which tasted really excellent. The amount is debatable... I was full, but I could have eaten some more because it was so good ;-) Contrary to expectations, a successful visit.

Dit restaurant heeft een groot terras en dat is meestal een teken dat men zich richt op toeristen. Bij dit restaurant is dat inderdaad het geval. De tapas die ik besteld had, waren redelijk van smaak, maar hierbij viel op dat het een beter smaakte dan het andere. Laten ik duidelijk zijn: het was echt niet slecht, maar helaas vond ik het weinig authentiek van smaak. Hierdoor is de prijs te hoog voor wat je krijgt.

The sangria is a bit too expensive and the paela lacks meat and seafood

The restaurant is located below the Hackescher Markt S-Bahn station next to a few others. In the middle of an area that tourists and locals alike use. As residents, a friend and I wanted to try the restaurant. Eir got a table straight away even though it was busy. Menu via QR code. Unfortunately, the waiter service's attention was often elsewhere, not with us, when we wanted something else. Eye contact with the guest should be possible. When the main course came, pepper and salt were brought to another table a short time later without being asked. Conclusion: Well-intentioned three stars. But I won't come back again.

I actually enjoyed the starters, namely the anchovies and veggie sandwiches and the paella. But there is one minus - there were only shrimp, chicken and squid in the paella. There was no other seafood, unlike other restaurants I have visited around the world. I didn't like sangria - like water.

There was a flea market at Hackscher Markt and after a tour we made ourselves comfortable here and ate and drank something. Staff was just great. The food was great, with Spanish red wine of course.

This large Spanish tapas restaurant is located on the Hackescher market. Our expectations were not very high, but we still had a delicious meal. It was a sultry evening so we enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace. Service not very fast but friendly. The only thing that wasn't so tasty was the garlic chicken. The rest yum! Great place to have a bite to eat.

Op de hackescher markt zit dit groot Spaans tapas restaurant. Onze verwachtingen waren niet erg hoog maar hebben toch lekker gegeten. Het was een zwoele avond dus lekker buiten op het terras. Bediening niet heel vlot maar wel vriendelijk. Enige wat niet zo lekker was, was de knoflook kip. De rest jammie! Prima plekje een een hapje te eten.

We ate the grilled tilapia fish with mixed salad from the lunch menu, it was very tasty, only the carrots should have been grated more finely. There was also warm chocolate cake with ice cream and Spanish pudding.

Super delicious food and nice service and super clean and a nice ambience

Calamari was very good, just like we have in the Aegean restaurants of Türkiye. Hamburger was ordinary. Spanish beer was also a regular pilsner. Service was ok but could be faster because the food was cold, I assume they were waiting on the counter for a while.

I am speechless, it has been impressive, I came here without many expectations after trying other tapas bars in Berlin and seeing that the food had nothing to do with that of Spain. However, Vivolo olé! I was impressed by a potato omelette, which, although a little dry (which seems a bit normal to me), was delicious. Some chicken croquettes that taste identical to the ones I buy at the chicken grill where I eat in Malaga, and the ham ones are delicious too. If you are in Berlin and want to try a flavor very similar to that of tapas in Spain, without a doubt come here, it is simply perfect

We wanted to try tapas there for the first time. Ordered chicken in garlic oil. Unfortunately it was just a few bones with hardly any meat on them. On the menu it looked like chicken fillet. The taste was good but the bone pieces were unfortunately a letdown. It should also be referred to as pieces of bone on the map.

We only ate tapas, it was like eating snacks, drowning cauliflower in old oil. Not again. Too bad about the money 😲

Had a mixed platter of Tapas for 2 for a bit over 30€. Jamon is decent and sliced off the bone fresh it seems, Pimetos de Padron were good too, Calamar was not overcooked and tender. The rest was fairly lacking, Patatas Bravas (my personal favorite and the first thing to try for me at any Tapas place) were without any crunch, cut too large and a little cold, and the single sauce added was lackluster. The rest of the dish was passable, but nothing special, and for the price I think not great value compared to some other places nearby (Try Rudolfos for a great Tapas experience) Staff were very polite and helpful though. Over all a passable, but not memorable experience

Typical Spaniard... I thought it was very nice but it wasn't outstanding either. The location was quaint, especially because you could always hear the rattling of the S-Bahn trains. The food was good but not special either. The service was okay, but not anymore. There was a woman sitting in front of the toilet who was expecting money for going to the toilet. As a guest I find it inappropriate but it's even worse when the toilet isn't clean and you're expected to pay money for it. It was a shame that the clothes smelled strongly of food afterwards. The prices were local. All in all it was okay but not anymore

I have to admit, that with every visit I like this place more and more. I come here for the Tapas mostly and they are very good. As with every Tapas place, some Tapas are great, some very good, others ok. So test a couple of them on the first visit and come back to order those that you liked most. Service is very good, friendly and efficient. The wine is good. There is live music on some days. Reservations are recommended.
