Ommia Event Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

The wine was amazing. Asides this. I ordered a dish. Not once did any member of staff ask about allergies. Yet the dish came with nuts all over. Secondly I feel when ordering red meat you should be asked how you like it cooked. This wasn't done. It came very well done. Absolutely poor service for the price being paid. I would at least expect more.

Fantastic food, everything tastes very natural and unique. Exceptionally warm atmosphere. Cool ambiance.

We had chosen the Ommia restaurant for a very special occasion—a marriage proposal with live saxophone music. Everything had been discussed with the team in advance. However, once we got there, we were suddenly and without understanding forbidden to play music, even though this had been expressly permitted beforehand. Even the simple request of my friend, the saxophonist, for a place to store his suitcase was rudely and rudely refused. This unexpected and disrespectful treatment severely marred the special occasion and caused great disappointment. We had originally planned to order something, but decided against it because of the unfriendly atmosphere. It's a real shame for a restaurant we traveled 200 km to find.

A disastrous restaurant. The manager wanted to throw us out because we didn't want to order what she wanted. The food took over an hour, it was served cold, and when we asked, there was no proper answer. So, all in all, a disastrous experience. I wouldn't eat there even for nothing. I wanted to enjoy a lovely evening with my partner, but it was ruined by Ommia...

It's not what excellent food used to be. Now it seems like just appetizers.

I attended a Dance & Dine VIP event at Ommia. The food was fantastic, as was the atmosphere. The best part was the guests; you don't often see so many beautiful people in one place. The only downside was that it was too busy, so it was a bit crowded.

I was at this restaurant for a so-called VIP event—unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. The prices were exorbitant, the food poorly prepared, and I had to wait up to 30 minutes for a drink. There was no "VIP" feel to it—in the end, it all felt like a cheap disco. Definitely not recommended. Not even a single star ;(((

Shameful service We waited 45 minutes for our food, it was 9:30 p.m. We were obviously starving and ate in 10 minutes. We didn't like anything, even though the salmon and truffle cream were very good. The sushi was so spicy that it burned our esophagus. I can understand Spicy, but this was inedible. I had to try the sushi with a tissue, lol.

The ambience is really beautiful, especially with the great view of the Main. The food was ok but the prices are quite high. Unfortunately, the service wasn't ideal - the team seemed stressed and the cake I brought with me almost ended up at the wrong table. Nevertheless, it is a nice place for celebrations or a romantic date. Note: Friday & Saturday there is a minimum consumption of €50 per person. person (dinner)

Amazing experience! Very nice, extravagant atmosphere with staff that cannot be surpassed in terms of attention and friendliness. Especially towards the evening, when it gets dark and you are accompanied by live singing on the piano, the already great location turns into a dream. Highly recommended & again at any time!!!

The restaurant is very suitable for a date, it is very romantically decorated and you can take great pictures there! The food is absolutely delicious, we had the teriyaki skewers as a starter and the shrimp skewers for both starters are highly recommended. After the waiter's recommendation, we took the Ommia Steak as our main course and we weren't disappointed. All in one you can only say great service, great food, great location!

**Never again! An absolute disgrace!** The food - especially the US fillet - was absolutely inedible! I have never had such bad food in my entire life. As you can see from the picture, I didn't even touch it. But the biggest joke was the bill: We ordered and paid for the same dish twice, but the boss only canceled half of one dish - how ridiculous! If a customer is dissatisfied, you should refund the meal completely and not come up with such tricks. Customer friendliness = 0! Definitely not recommended.

A beautiful location, great decoration and very nice staff. It was a private event for a large number of guests on the occasion of the “Chinese New Year” on the first floor of Ommia and the dinner was planned as a “flying buffet”. Everything was wonderful, only the food didn't convince me, especially the sushi and the wontons were burnt. But as I said, a large group, you have to be able to do that.

The scallops in a sauce that hit all the taste receptors were also worth mentioning. All in all, fantastic cuisine with fresh ingredients and a great selection of drinks. As beautiful as the location may be, the food is an absolute disappointment! We ordered a variety of sushi and I'm not exaggerating when I say that the sushi from the refrigerated section at Rewe is 100 times more edible and delicious. The sushi here was cold, not fresh at all and the creations were simply not tasty. With reference to a longer waiting time, we waited 45 minutes for an absolute disappointment, which was also extremely expensive at around €120. A real disgrace for an upscale Asian fusion cuisine. A previously ordered salad was also nonsense. The food is therefore not recommended at all. I'll never set foot in this store again.

The food was ok. The system was overpowered. The whole thing was neither hospitable nor well organized. Really not a location that I would visit again privately.

We had a celebration with 16 people in the fireplace room. There was the 4 course menu. The organization in advance was very uncomplicated; we were even able to submit our wishes for the menu at short notice. On the day of the celebration itself, the service was great, the atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious. We would be happy to come back.

My sister celebrated her wedding here and what can I say: the service was incredibly great! Courteous, very attentive and incredibly pleasant. And the food was incredibly good! There was a lot of variety and the vegan dishes were super delicious! A really big recommendation!

The location looks very nice and so does the food, but unfortunately the food is not edible. Satay skewers tasted like a ready meal and my rack of lamb and my friend's sushi were not edible either. In total we were there with a large birthday group of over 10 people and NO ONE ate their food!!! Despite all the full plates, no one asked if the food was tasty or what was going on. This brings us to the next disappointing point - the service. Unfortunately the service was absolutely not good! Only after more than 60 minutes and a proactive request from us were the plates cleared away and the service was also very unfriendly! The only positive thing was the location and how the food was prepared - so if you're coming for great Instagram photos, you're in the right place, but the food and service only deserve one star and I can think of at least 30 better restaurants in Frankfurt in this price range with a similar menu.

Very atmospheric ambience and the location is very nice, with a direct view of the Main and can also be reached on foot after a few minutes from the next tram stop. The service is very attentive and courteous, very good sake recommendation. The sushi was fresh and tasty with good quality. Wir hatten Sushi für ca. 300 €... Mit Abstand das Schlechteste in meinem Leben... abgestanden und fad im Geschmack. Nach der Bestellung hat man uns gesagt, dass die Zubereitung etwas länger dauern würde. Anmerkung: im Restaurant war kein einziger anderer Tisch, am Fr. Abend um 21:00 Uhr, besetzt... nur wir. Nach ca. 30 Minuten kam ein Fahrer mit einer „Lieferbox“ zum Tresen... ca. 3 Minuten danach kam unser Essen... Fad und abgestanden ist gar keine Beschreibung... Das Sushi im Penny für 4,99 € ist bei weitem besser als der sorry, dass ich es mit diesem Wort beschreiben muss, „Fraß“ im Ommia. Nie wieder..

EDIT - September 23, 2024: I took the trouble to upload the invoice for you. We had sushi for around €300... By far the worst thing in my life... stale and bland tasting. After ordering we were told that it would take a little longer to prepare. Note: there wasn't a single other table in the restaurant occupied on Friday evening at 9 p.m.... just us. After about 30 minutes a driver came to the counter with a “delivery box”... about 3 minutes later our food arrived... Bland and stale is no description at all... The sushi at Penny for €4.99 is far better than the sushi at Ommia, sorry I have to use that word to describe it. Never again..

My wife and I went for their Peking Duck 5 course menu. It truly was one of the best dinning experiences in Frankfurt. The duck takes one week to marinate for you personally. The meal consists of the whole duck broken down over the 5 courses. Our server Jack was one of the most professional servers I have had in the city, and lent his expertise throughout the dinner. This is not a dinner, but an experience. I would gladly pay double for the experience Jack and his crew gave us at Ommia. We will be coming back many times in the future.

The two of us had dinner at Ommia on Saturday evening. Our first time. Just a very good combination of service, food, location and atmosphere. The food was outstanding and the staff was super friendly. An evening directly on the Main with a view and sunset. For an aperitif on the wrap-around balcony on the 1st floor and then enjoyed the Japanese/Asian delicacies. Higher price range but worth every penny. Simply great!

Das Restaurant ist sehr schön eingerichtet und toll gelegen. Es gibt zudem ein Parkhaus. Der Service war hervorragend, das Essen sehr schön angerichtet. Mein Mann hatte Fleisch - das muss sehr gut gewesen sein. Das Sushi war ok - leider nicht mehr. Es war hübsch angerichtet und wurde mit Trockeneis-Nebel-gedöns serviert. Die Show brauche ich persönlich nicht - lieber ist es mir, wenn das Sushi überzeugt. Der Fisch hatte eine sehr gute Qualität, der Reis war jedoch fade und hatte keine perfekte Konsistenz, zudem war es zu viel Reis. Das Sushi selbst war eher klassisch und etwas fantasielos, was zum Gedöns, was drumrum veranstaltet wird und auch zum recht hohen Preis nicht passt…

Es war ein wunderbarer Abend. Wir hatten eine gemischte Vorspeiseplatte für uns und es war alles sehr lecker. Die Hauptspeise waren etwas Spezieller, aber war auch sehr lecker. Der Service war auch sehr nett und hat uns gute Empfehlungen gegeben. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

We went as a big group of 9 on a Saturday night and apparently 8.30 pm was the earliest they could accommodate us. However when we got there, the restaurant was completely empty on the ground floor and only about 20% full on the top floor. The service was quite good in terms of care for the guests, whilst the food arrived with quite a delay, not at the same time for all at the table and all was cold (these were supposed to be hot dishes). The food itself was below average, with the majority of us expressing that the food was quite bad. The fried chicken in a crust was not finished by 3 people at our table - all who ordered it. The lamb in pistachio crust was cold on the inside and felt like a reheating job done bad, with the meat itself tasting chewy. For €35+ a plate, we all expected something really nice but alas that was not the case. The drinks were good, as well as the truffle fries and the vegan roll - that’s all I would recommend from Ommia. I think this is what this place is good for: drinks and something to pick at, while enjoying the music and the view of the river.
