Oktopussy Bar & Restaurant in Düsseldorf

I went there for the first time the other day, and what can I say?! The octopus was undercooked, and the food was too salty. The price-performance ratio is terrible; the portions are far too small for the price, and since when are water spots on glasses fashionable again? Yuck! My wife is a vegetarian and barely had any choices. Thumbs down for that! I wanted to exchange something because I have an allergy, but when I told the chef, he just told me I should go somewhere else?! Seriously? How does this place treat its customers? Never again!

It was a wonderful evening at Oktopussy. The food was delicious, from the appetizer to the dessert. The staff was incredibly friendly, so we'll definitely be back.

We were there for my boyfriend's birthday and unfortunately arrived a little late, but despite that, we received a very warm welcome and were even given two glasses of sparkling wine as a lovely "Happy Birthday" greeting, which I thought was incredibly thoughtful! The food was outstanding, from start to finish. Both in terms of quality and taste. We've rarely eaten better! (Bread basket, ceviche, roasted beef fillet, and braised beef shoulder) Unfortunately, we're not from Düsseldorf, but we'll definitely make a reservation next time we visit. I would recommend it to everyone! Great atmosphere. The gentleman who served us, who was probably also the owner (?), was super sweet and attentive. Simply a wonderful atmosphere, just the perfect way to round off a birthday evening. Thank you. ❤️

I have to start with the beef broth. Honestly, I've never had anything like it! It's truly intense in flavor and totally special... it can't be described, you have to try it! Next came salmon ceviche and tuna tartare... yes, a wild combination, but both super fresh and incredibly delicious. The menu is small, but truly delicious. And thanks to Sven, who served me so warmly and attentively. I felt truly at home! I'll be back for the rest!

Great restaurant with excellent food. We were there with 10 people. Not a single starter or main course was faultable. The dishes were top-notch, varied, and incredibly delicious. The service staff were all super friendly. We'd happily return.

Both the ambiance and the food were excellent. The service was also open, friendly, and good. The fact that at 7:30 p.m., it seemed like everyone arrived at the same time posed a challenge for the service. Bottom line: I'll be back, and the octopus was excellent. Thank you for that! A quick note for those planning to drive: The area isn't known for its abundance of parking spaces. So, plan ahead or choose an alternative.

We visited with eight people and ordered around 2/3 of the entire menu so that we were able to taste a bit of everything. All dishes were perfectly cooked and yummy. Our entire group was highly satisfied and I am sure, we will return.

As guests from Switzerland, we had high expectations for our visit to the Oktopussy restaurant in Düsseldorf, and we were definitely not disappointed! The octopus we were served there was simply the second-best we've ever tasted—tender, perfectly seasoned, and simply divine! A special mention goes to the young waitress, who was extremely attentive, charming, and personable. His service made the evening even more enjoyable. He truly catered to our every need and was incredibly attentive. To top it all off, the chef surprised us with a special treat that made our visit an unforgettable experience. Oktopussy is a true gem in Düsseldorf and an absolute must-visit for all foodies. We highly recommend it and are already looking forward to our next visit when we're back in Germany!

This was our first time there. It was a recommendation. The service was friendly and competent. The food was excellent (tuna teriyaki, grand octopus, tutti frutti creme brulée, and vanilla special). It won't be our last time there.

It's been a long time since I've eaten this well. Highly recommended, and the waiter is very friendly! We tried both types of pasta, the salmon tartar, and the beef with mashed potatoes—it's spectacular.

Booked a table in advance. Booked a table in advance. The menu is quite short, but it has interesting items. Some dishes are truly amazing, for example, pasta with mixed seafood - very tasty. Cucumber salad with teriyaki was mediocre, and salmon tartare was tasty, but the portion was small. We also ordered salmon with salad and boiled beetroot - not bad, but could have been better. We liked the octopus, it was cooked well, but keep in mind that there is only one tentacle in the portion. Beautiful presentation, it is nice to watch how the dishes are served. If the place is full, be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes for drinks. The staff treats guests politely, this is a plus. It is a little uncomfortable with children: the crowd is mainly people who know about the place in advance and come in beautiful outfits, so the atmosphere is more "adult". Overall, the impressions are not bad.

The food was actually very good, and the portions were generous. The service was friendly, but unfortunately a bit amateurish. The bill took over 40 minutes to arrive, and there were two items on the bill that we hadn't ordered, which we had to inform the staff about. Even when we received the correct bill, we had to wait a very long time. We actually paid at the cash register because it took so long. I more or less liked it, but for that price, I wouldn't go back.

The crossover cuisine surprises with creative, fresh dishes – outstanding starters like sashimi or deep-fried corn and impressive main courses, including grilled tuna and sea bass, all prepared with great attention to detail. The ambiance is also harmonious – cozy outdoor seating with heaters and blankets, as well as a stylish bar, invite you to linger. An absolute highlight is the first-class wine selection: over 90 items, 50 of which are available by the glass, perfectly matched to the menu – and the advice is competent and friendly. I enjoyed a fantastic combination of fish tapas and a glass of finely tempered white wine. The service was attentive, friendly, and never intrusive – ideal for a romantic evening or a relaxed meeting with friends. The portions are generous, the quality high – the grilled octopus and the tuna steak in particular were "a treat for the palate." A quick tip: Since Oktopussy is very popular, reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. And: If you want to sit outside, choose an evening without the smell of manhole covers – it's idyllic outside, but if you're in an awkward position, it can occasionally be a nuisance. In conclusion: Creative, fresh cuisine, a great wine selection, a stylish rock 'n' roll atmosphere, and top-notch service make Oktopussy an absolute must in Düsseldorf.

Gestern war ich wieder im Oktopussy – und ich muss sagen: dieser Ort ist einfach kaum zu überbieten, wenn es um Stimmung, Atmosphäre und gutes Essen geht. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, die Getränke top und der Service wie immer aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell. …das Restaurant ist sehr gut besucht– was mich nicht überrascht. Deshalb mein Tipp: Reservieren, wenn ihr einen Platz ergattern wollt! Ein Geheimtipp ist es zwar längst nicht mehr, aber immer noch ein Garant für einen coolen Abend.

Wir hatten zweimal Ente, einmal Risotto u einmal Lachs. Die Enten waren kross, das Risotto schmackhaft. Der Lachs war leider lauwarm, lieblos auf dem Teller und schlecht gewürzt. Das Kartoffelpüree bei Lachs u Ente war Convinientware, nicht frisch selbst gemacht, was den Preis erstens gerechtfertigt hätte u zweitens ein Muss für ein Gericht gewesen wäre.

Wie immer kuschelig eng, aber nett zu sitzen. Essen war qualitativ gut, aber auch viel zu kleine Portionen. Leider wird das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis immer schlechter. Eine Bauchspeckscheibe (lecker) für 26 € ist einfach zu viel. Tiramisu für 14 € macht keinen Spass mehr, egal wie gut es schmeckt. Also in einem Wort völlig überzogen. Da hat der nette Service nicht wirklich geholfen.

Dies ist nicht unser erster Bericht über das Oktopussy. Nach mehreren Besuchen im Laufe des Jahres hatten wir einen Platz für das Silvestermenü reserviert. Der Empfang war herzlich und verlief reibungslos, obwohl mehrere Gäste gleichzeitig eintrafen. Ein Glas Crémant war schnell am Tisch und der Menüablauf und die Karte waren einfach erklärt: Aus drei Vorspeisen, drei Hauptgerichten und drei Desserts konnten zwei Vorspeisen, ein Hauptgericht und ein Dessert gewählt werden – insgesamt also 4 Speisen und ein Gruß aus der Küche. Dazu gab es eine Getränke-Flat, bei der zwischen zwei weißen und zwei roten Weinen gewählt werden konnte, Kaffee, Wasser und Bier waren ebenfalls in der Flat enthalten, ebenso wie ein Glas Crémant zum Empfang und zum Jahreswechsel. Nun könnte man meinen, dass die Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken etwas knapp bemessen war, aber alles war so geschickt zusammengestellt, dass jeder seine Highlights finden konnte. Und als Gesamtpaket muss man wirklich sagen: Das war klasse! Auch der Service war erstklassig. Keine Wartezeiten, individuelle Pausen zwischen den Gängen wurden berücksichtigt, Getränkenachschub kam sogar ohne Nachfrage und pünktlich um 12 Uhr hatte jeder der rund 50 Gäste ein Glas Crémant in der Hand - und das alles in gewohnt sympathischer und entspannter Art in gewohnt cooler Atmosphäre. Man sollte wissen, dass es im Restaurant auch Hochtische gibt, die einem zugewiesen werden können und auch, dass an diesem Tisch weitere, fremde Personen sitzen können, was bei uns aber bisher immer ein positives Erlebnis war. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war unschlagbar. Für uns ist das Oktopussy eine absolute Empfehlung.

Ich war Mittwochabend, nach einem langen arbeitstag noch auf ein paar bierchen und ein paar leckereien im Oktopussy. Ich kann nur sagen, der tag hätte gelungener nicht enden können! Ich hatte einen unglaublichen teriyaki schweinebauch auf spinatsalat. Voll auf die zwölf, der beste schweinebauch den ich jemals gegessen habe! 😋 Dann hatte ich noch hervorragende tagliatelle an einer cremigen sauce mit trüffeln. Als dessert noch die empfehlung des durchweg aufmerksamen, aber stets lockeren service: Vanillecreme mit mangosorbet. Nochmal eine gaumenfreude und somit auch ein schöner abschluss. Alles war insgesamt schön angerichtet und geschmacklich superlecker, ohne aber überzogen zu sein. Das war jetzt mein drittes mal dort und immer hat alles perfekt gepasst. Außerdem eine schöne, urgemütliche atmosphäre. Ich kann nur sagen, ich freue mich schon darauf wieder nach düsseldorf zu kommen! 😀

Everything was very good: attentive, friendly service, delicious food with absolutely fresh ingredients (tuna and scallops, raw) and unusual, clever combinations (octopus with prunes). Very tasty French white wine at a fairly acceptable price. The only small drawback: It is very narrow and there are about half/half comfortable benches with backrests and chairs and unfortunately benches and high chairs without backrests😏 Still a very nice, enjoyable evening. We'll definitely be back...

Gehbehinderte sind dort unerwuenscht 2 Tage vorab reserviert, 15 min vor der Zeit eingetroffen wollte man meine Frau mit Gehbehinderung an einen Hochtisch setzen. Ich sagte dies sei nicht möglich, woraufhin man den Tisch an der Theke ebenfalls Hochtisch anbot. Da ich diesen erneut wegen der Behinderung meiner Frau ablehnte wurde man pampig und der stark alkoholisiert Mitarbeiter meinte ich haette due Behinderung bei der Reservierung kommunizieren müssen. Ich bat darum uns ein Taxi zu bestellen nun kam ein weiterer Mitarbeiter aus dem Hintergrund ging auf mich los und bedrohte mich meinte dann er wuerde die Polizei holen ich entgegnete ihm das dies auch in meinem Sinne sei da er mich bedrohe. Wir hatten insgesamt 30 € Taxikosten Diese wuerde ich sehr gerne erstattet bekommen Ich kann jedem nur abraten, Dort hinzugehen

Absolute reservation chaos on Friday evening - was blamed on the online reservation). Various guests had to leave without a seat. The food itself is really good and attractively prepared. But I have to agree with the many previous speakers that the ratio between price and quantity of food is absolutely not appropriate.

There were four of us on Saturday evening and we had reserved in advance. All 4 had a starter and a main course. The food was nicely prepared and OK. However, all starters and main courses are only suitable for people who come hungry and want to leave hungry. It's nice when everything is beautifully presented, but people are hungry too. The octopus was good, served with a touch of puree. At 220 euros for 4 people, a feeling of satiety can be expected. We sat at a long table on backless bar stools in front of the toilet and cloakroom. The passage behind us was so narrow that I was bumped into about 20 times in the 1.5 hours in the restaurant. I'm not complaining about high prices, but definitely too many no-go's.
