This place is jumping when a LFC game is on! Service great! Reasonable prices! Get here early if you are watching the footy! No table reservation on football match day

I've been going to O' Kellys for a long time. Sometimes with friends, sometimes with family when she visits. I think it's always suitable if you just want to have a relaxing evening. The special days (Monday pub quiz, Thursday bingo) are also worth a visit. Delicious food, good beer and nice staff are standard. Even if something is ordered incorrectly from time to time, we can always find a common solution. I think that is much more important than a seemingly flawless service. And be sure to ask about special meals, as the team always comes up with something new.

We only came to watch the sports broadcast of the Bundesliga and the European Championships The Guinness pitchers are a good size, perfect for 3 The fries are also handmade?, nice and crispy and well salted The vegan wrap is very tasty Can also be ordered with a side salad instead of fries The dressing is very tasty However, there was a small animal in the salad (see photo)... The iced tea is ok, it could just be Fuzetea, and the pineapple isn't fresh but canned, but it was still tasty and the prices aren't high compared to other places

The food is very good, but the service and service are not particularly worth mentioning. Beer was poured down my back and down my coat. The waitress was gone for 3-4 minutes before she came back with two ridiculous napkins and didn't even apologize. I then spoke to her and she just said that accidents can happen. I then said in the same tone that I probably wouldn't pay for the beer. She said of course I would pay for the beer, after all it wasn't intentional. I then asked for the shift manager. She walked away. When she came back she just said that the beer was on the house and didn't get anyone. No apology, no insight. I also believe that accidents happen. But how it is handled and, above all, in what tone is a clear difference. I've never experienced anything like this before. Unfortunately the burgers are delicious...

If you like Wings with Buffalo sauce, this is your best bet in Freiburg. I believe that the wing sauce they use is Frank's wing sauce! The only negative aspect is that they don't offer blue cheese on the side but they do have a dill dipping sauce that is ok considering its not an American kitchen. Great, welcoming staff. Fair prices.

We were craving a burger and the reviews were good so we went in. Since there was a Freiburg game, the pup was packed. Accordingly, also loud. The food was really very good and the size was such that even a good person would be full. The drinks were well chilled and the evening was really fun.

We always love going to the local Irish pub. This one was as good as they get, the staff were great, as was the atmosphere. We only went for drinks.

Nice pub in the middle of Freiburg. It was very well attended yesterday after the game. Waiting times were actually very short and the beer was delicious. The price is in the typical Irish pub range, I didn't eat anything. Overall it's a recommendation.

It's always busy, which is a good sign. In comparison, burgers are in the higher price range, but they taste very good! Staff is typically Irish, which is just a cool experience.

Nice Irish pub, but unfortunately I can't give it 5 stars as I found the burger I ordered was not really good. It certainly does look better in my picture than it tasted. Otherwise, the service was good and the atmosphere was typically what you can expect from an Irish pub. So, for the drinks it's all good, but I can't recommend the food there.

On the website it said that the DFB Cup would be broadcast, after we had come all the way there, the barkepper told us that there would be no football today because of the quiz night.

My wife and I visited during Euro 2024 and the pitcher beer offer was fantastic, 12 euro’s for a fantastic German Pils lager. Great views of multiple screens with the football on, impeccable service. We did not eat here so cannot comment on the food but plenty of people around us were and the portion size looked generous.

Food is extremely tasty and well made. Unfortunately only English is spoken, I could imagine that this could be a problem for people with poor language skills.

We visited a couple of times during our short stay in Freiburg and ate there once. Plenty of TVs on showing all manner of sports. The food options are typical Irish pub food and did not disappoint us. The portions were really big and we struggled to finish. We had a chicken wrap, a burger, a portion of chips and chilli chips. If you are looking for a sports bar or for standard Irish pub food, you won’t be disappointed. One of the nights we were in was a ‘Quiz night’ with drink as the prize and it was mobbed, mainly with students.

Maybe that's what a pub should look like, lots of dark furniture, pretty worn out. As a contrast, there are countless televisions and projectors with football broadcasts, you won't find a sitting position in the entire restaurant where you don't have a screen in front of you: including me. Fish & chips ok, burger (at the next table) looked great.

Very tasty burger on site. Was here for the first time and certainly not the last time. You should be there in good time as it is always very busy. Prices are okay, the quantity was also sufficient. Really good atmosphere. Clear thumbs up!

A great Irish pub with good music and lots to explore! Super nice staff who speak both perfect German and perfect English. We had a delicious meal and very tasty beers and whiskeys... fish and chips with vinegar of course! Everything was quiet...later it got crowded because of football, but that's to be expected (that's why we were there early). Thank you for the lovely evening and the great service!

Loud, tasty, everything as it should be. To get more than standing room you have to be there early. No matter what day of the week :) The food is delicious and the portions are generous. Be sure to try shepherds pie instead of burgers!

With great luck we got seats for 4 people with daughter and grandson at 5.45 p.m. As you get older, the background noise takes some getting used to. The staff is very friendly and also competent. Food delicious. Prices reasonable. Bravo.

We came here to meet up with fellow West Ham fans on a couple of days while over to play Freiburg in the Europa Cup. I’m sad to say that we weren’t keen on the burgers but it’s impossible to mark these people down as they’re so friendly and helpful and the beer and craic is on point. Doubt I’d return to Freiburg but if I did I’d definitely come here for a drink or three, the landlady is lovely as they all are.

We stopped by and it was clearly a sports bar vs. a restaurant type of establishment. Nothing wrong, just not they type of place you go for dinner with family. Would be fun for the sports enthusiast.

Good basic pub grub. Was bingo night which was hilarious and obviously brings in all the students. We were made to feel welcome and joined in with the games.

It's actually a classic student bar with great food. But not only students are welcome here, everyone is warmly welcomed and well served. It is always well attended and also offers a great bingo evening on Thursdays.

Ambiance and service are very good. When it comes to eating, I can only say that the selection is very large for a pup. Since I haven't eaten anything myself, I can't judge the quality.

We watched football there and the atmosphere was great. Servis was attentive and quick. The pub itself could still have an Irish pub atmosphere, but it's a cool place.

First of all, I wanted to give a back story of why I gave the food only 1 star. I visited O'Kelly's for the first time upon a friend's recommendation to try their fish and chips. It's the chef's recommendation and I love fish and chips! Sadly, the white fish was under seasoned or not seasoned at all. The batter was undercooked so everything was soggy. The fries were cold and also not seasoned. I was really disappointed because I was really looking forward to it, especially after being caught in the rain. We told the server about the fish. He listened to us very attentively and told us that they had gotten a different fish over the Christmas season. And then he said he would communicate with the chef and his boss about the fish. And then he came back to our table and thanked us repeatedly for letting them know about the fish. He didn't charge us for our table. I have to say the service recovery is very very good but I almost felt as if they knew that they would have problems with the new fish and the server came to us prepared with an answer. Maybe it's me overthinking. Also I don't think the fish is the only problem but also the cooking. Other than that, the ambience was good. It's as Irish as an Irish bar goes. We walked into a full restaurant and it was bustling and quite loud. We were lucky to have found a table ourselves. The server was quick to come to our table and took our orders. The servers spoke perfect English for customers who don't speak German. It's maybe 10 minutes on foot from the train station. Despite the food, I would visit again the next time I'm in Freiburg. Hopefully the food is better next time.

Wer die Besten Burger und Chickenwings in Freiburg sucht der wird hier fündig! Typisches Irish Pub mit einer übersichtlichen Karte und den herkömmlichen Bieren welche ausgezeichnet gezapft werden. Zu empfehlen!

Gemütliche Pubatmosphäre. Der Smokey- Burger war sehr gut. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, könnte jedoch etwas öfter vorbeikommen.

Meine Freunde und ich kommen schon sehr lange in diesen Pub und freuen uns immer wieder hier zu sein. Insbesondere das tolle Personal und die Atmosphäre lieben wir.

der burger war lecker und die pommes top! frisches pale ale ausem zapfhahn 🤩 und es läuft fußball… was will man(n) mehr 🥶 ps. und es gibt auch dolly 🥰

Sheppards Pie und Guinness, hat sehr gut geschmeckt! Kleiner Wermutstropfen: der Pie war aus Rind und nicht aus Lamm, aber trotzdem lecker.

Der Mushroom Salad mit gegrillten Chamgions und die Pommes Poutin (mit Pilzrahmsoße und überbacken mit Käse) sind beim Bingoabend meine Favoriten!

Mit einigen Wartezeiten verbunden hatte ich dann Bestellung endlich abgegeben. Gezahlt habe ich an der Theke wollte nicht nochmal warten. Zum Sport schauen, bei NFL etwas durcheinander da auf drei TV unterschiedliche Spiele liefen. Zweimal NFL einmal Fußball ohne Ton, hatte was von einem Wettbüro. Der Burger war lecker aber doch merkwürdig verformt, warum keine Ahnung.

Wir hatten Wings, chicken Wrap, vegan Wrap & den hot Burger. Hätte schon etwas besser sein können. Das was als scharf angeschrieben war, war leider nicht mal pikant. Der chicken wrap hat nach nichts geschmeckt. Der vegan wrap (ohne Ananas bestellt, war trotzdem drin) konnte ich persönlich nicht essen, weil die Konsistenz des vegan „patty“ wie „roh“ war. Zwar ist da nichts, was verderblich werden kann, trotzdem war es wie eine große rohe Masse „Fleisch“, das nicht angebraten wurde. Schade, aber diese Gerichte nicht zu empfehlen.

Ideal um Sportübertragungen mit Freunden zu verfolgen

Ein schön gehaltenes Restaurant mit großer Auswahl an Kalten und Warmen Getränken. Besonders die Burger sind außergewöhnlich gut und regen auf jeden Fall zu einem erneuten Besuch ein. Auch bei guten Publikumsverkehr bleiben die Kellner entspannt und auch die Qualität leidet keinesfalls. Wir waren zu dritt, haben alle ein Bier, einen Burger und einen Nachtisch mit Kaffee bestellt. Die 100€ Euro waren es auf jeden Fall wert. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Selected this place based on reviews before vacationing and it was a fantastic meal. We had Sweet Veggie Burgers that were out of this world topped with a thick layer of melted cheese, sauce and cole slaw. It comes with fries but subs are an option. Ingredients are so good, fresh, great quality and carefully executed. Portions are BIG! Seating is inside and outdoors. We sat outdoors which was quite comfortable. The interior is very lovely and inviting. Our dishes arrived directly from the kitchen rather quickly! After our server took our order, he simply disappeared and never returned to see how we liked the food or asked if we wanted something else or remove dishes.... He did appear after a long while taking someone's order and passed right by us a couple of times. Very unprofessional. Regardless, had our own fun time there and highly recommend !!!

Excellent beer! They keep excellent stout called O'Haras and I cannot recommend enough. The staff are polite and wait tables saving you the hassle of going to the bar. Sport is on the TV and we got to enjoy the rugby world cup. Atmosphere is relaxed.

War zum Europaliga Spiel vom SC Freiburg dort, das auf RTL übertragen wurde, an einem Donnerstag Davor hatte ich Fish and Chips, die waren lecker, einzig die schöne, bedruckte Serviette auf der das Essen gekommen ist, darunter der Teller, löste sich auf . Schneller Service, was will man mehr. Und der SC Freiburg hat das Auswärtsspiel sogar gewonnen⚽

Wir hatten telefonisch einen Wrap mit Pommes und Chicken Wings zur Abholung bestellt und konnten es bereits eine halbe Stunde später abholen. Die Bedienungen vor Ort waren sehr freundlich und das Essen super lecker. Sollte ich nochmal nach Freiburg kommen, werde ich hier definitiv wieder essen gehen.
