Very good fish and chips with special sauce. Very friendly service. I will be back!

Good burgers. Service is a long time coming. Had to wait 1 hour for my burger. Drinks came after half an hour. So be patient.

We were there on Tuesday evening at around 7:00 p.m. to have a coffee/cappuccino. Although there was only one table for two other than us, it took 15 minutes before I went to see where the order went. The waiter was just in the kitchen, the cappuccino had probably been there for 10 minutes, judging by the heat. It could be that things went badly that evening, but we won't be going there any time soon. I can't say anything about the food.

I've been coming here with my friends for 7 years and love the ambience in this Irish pub! Seán is a super funny and nice person who always organizes the pub quiz on Sundays and is also a great host. The service sometimes takes longer, but the good food makes it worth the wait! I would be happy to come back at any time. :)

Cozy boy, as you would expect. Friendly and funny service ☘️ and really tries hard. Were there 3 evenings in a row, we'll be back as soon as we come back to Freiburg!

Truly an authentic Irish pub, with a real homely, welcoming atmosphere! Considering moving here, because it beats the real pubs back home! 10/10

The beer tasted really good. Fresh from the barrel into the glass. The other drinks were also very tasty and there was no saving on fuel. Unfortunately the chicken wings were a disaster. Totally chewy and strangely seasoned. Fish and chips walked past us and looked delicious. The store was full, all the seats were occupied. The owner was rowing hard but couldn't really keep up. He could have sold four more drinks to us alone if he had had help. The two hippies in the kitchen don't think their work is great. But they are very nice. Mc Namara's is definitely a place where I could sink.

We wanted to have a nice beer with a few colleagues at around 10:30 p.m. The employee didn't feel like serving beer. He was completely overwhelmed and really didn't feel like working. My friend's beer tasted weird and she had something in her glass (looked like crystals). She spoke up, the waiter apologized and poured the same beer into another glass. Come on man, just pour me a new beer. Sorry but it was really disappointing.😕

We were blatantly ignored for an hour. At the next table, all the extra requests were diligently fulfilled, while they didn't even manage to clear our table. The staff preferred to chat for a long time at the counter. Maybe they were just overwhelmed that day. We left the pub after class without being able to buy anything

I can only give 5 stars for the food if drinks are also included 😂😂 But you really can't go wrong with the beers. Nice service definitely👍👍

I was there yesterday with a few people from my biker group. I didn't know this pub before, but I can recommend it.. It is stylishly furnished, small but nice and we felt very comfortable. The food was good and the music too. Everything went great with the service. Drinks and food came at a normal time and no one had anything wrong 😃 We'll be happy to come back!

Went there today based on a recommendation with high expectations. Reception was friendly, the waitress was on her first day, no problem. But then: Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, and it felt like an eternity before the drinks arrived. We ate 4 burgers, unfortunately the patty and fries were only warm in 2 burgers, the rest were cold. In terms of taste in relation to the price, well. Goes better. We had to get cutlery ourselves. Despite empty drinks, no service or demand. We won't go there again.

The bartender poured the Pils back and forth between two glasses until it finally fit into one glass. Yummy! Then the waiter asked if we had sat at another table before... we had just ordered from him 3 minutes ago. In short, it was modest in McNamara's Pub. Meanwhile, the bartender was very busy with his phone again. That seems to be his passion. The shop smelled, everything was a little understated and unfortunately very charmless for our taste. A point of grace, just barely.

There is a very pub atmosphare. The food (very from the pub) is very tasty and well served. The price is accurate. The personal is great. At the time we were there, there was plenty of people. It took more time for the food as normally but the waiter explained that and it was all good. I recommend this place definitely.

I really like the pub as a place, but I feel like the food has clearly deteriorated and the service has significantly (!) deteriorated. The table is not cleared, you have to walk to the front of the counter to order and overall you have the feeling that the waitress thinks the cell phone is more important than the guests...

Seán makes us feel at home, he's like our little garden gnome 😍😍

A change of scenery in Ireland in the middle of Freiburg! Speak English of course, an incomparable choice of whiskey and a great menu, not to mention the essential Guinness. Really an address to do!

An Irish pub as it should be: authentically rustic, warm service, full, regular customers, good drinks menu (even with mixed beers), pub snacks, live music on certain days and pub quizzes.

Unfortunately the service was a bit sad today. After ordering two cocktails, we had to wait over 20 minutes before a tiny Caipirinha arrived that was extremely rum-heavy. We canceled the second cocktail after another 15 minutes. Wouldn't go to McNamaras again until further notice, which I think is a shame, I actually always enjoyed going there.

Wir waren zum Abendessen im Pub. Reservierung am Telefon ging problemlos. Als wir um 17 Uhr ankamen waren noch nicht mal alle Stühle von den Tischen runtergestellt, geschweige denn die Tische abgewischt. Auf unserem Tisch lagen noch Krümel vom Vorabend. Ebenso stand eine leere Whiskyflasche rum. Die Getränkebestellung konnten wir fix aufgeben. 2x Cola und 1x hausgemachte Limonade. Die Cola kamen wie beschrieben in 0,5l Gläsern. Die Limonade nur in einem kleinen 300ml (geeichten) Glas. (auf der Karte als 0,5l angegeben) Beim Kellner reklamiert wollte er mir weiß machen, dass dies so stimmen würde. Nach einem Blick auf die Katte musste er mir recht geben. Ein neues Glas (dieses Mal ohne Eichstrich) kam kurze Zeit später. Das bestellte Essen kam relativ schnell. Das kurz vorher hingestellte Besteck jedoch war dreckig. Das Messer wurde getauscht, Worte der Entschuldigung schon schwierig. Der Pub war ein einmaliges Erlebnis, schade um das verschenke Potenzial.

The operation can only be described in one word: useless! A bad service that is second to none. Ordered 3 times and received nothing. If something happens then it was wrong... The onion rings consisted only of fat, which was definitely from last year. Let's see what your stomach thinks...

Ambiance is quite okay. Mood fits. But the service is subpar. Really bad! Wait an hour and order three times for a drink to arrive. Bad ass!

Ridiculous. There were no Bulmers or Magners. Both on the map. Bad music, more like a train station bar. Not recommended unless you're not into fun. I've been to Irish pubs that were so much better.

Ein urgemütliches Irish Pub, sehr rustikal und mit einem schön deftigen Essensangebot. Das Pub Quiz am Sonntag macht Laune. Hier kann man seinen Abend gut verbringen.

Wir kommen immer gerne her. Die Musik ist gut und das Guiness auch. Leider hat die Bedienung öfter mal einen schlechten Tag und man wird etwas unfreundlich abgefertigt. Wen das nicht stört, der ist hier richtig.

Um sich zu erholen, sollte man zum McNamara's Irish Pub gehen. Die Kellner sind sehr freundlich und die Atmosphäre ist sehr gemütlich. Ambiente (der Raum) gefällt mir sehr:)

Etwas schmudelig, wurde bereits Audäfgestuhlt als noch Gäste drinn waren (Schliessung noch 1.5h entfernt)

Was sollen wir sagen ? Absolute und zwar maximale Gastfreundschaft…. Sowohl Personal als auch Inhaber machen selbst weit gereisten Fans zu teilweise unmenschlichen Uhrzeiten noch eine Freude. Wir danken euch von Herzen für den tollen Abend und sagen bis morgen ❤️

Super schöne Lokation, das Pub ist gemütlich man fühlt sich direkt sehr wohl. Das Essen (besonders die Burger) sind immer lecker. Preis + Leistung ist absolut Fair. Das Personal und auch die Inhaber des Pub's sind immer mega freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer gut gelaunt auch wenn es Mal etwas stressiger ist. Hat man mal Lust auf etwas Irland ist man hier genau richtig. Jeder Zeit ein Besuch wert :)

Ich fand es schade das der Salat zu Ende war und ihrgehnt wie waren die Service Kräfte überfordert.

Sehr schönes Pub und der Cider ist absolut zu empfehlen!

Tbis place i chronically understaffed, while having great potential. The food is nice. My first time here, I was here for a pub quiz. It did not take place because the person organizing it was helping with the general service. The second time I came, I waited more than 15 minutes to be served. When I approached the bar, a visibly stressed waiter took care of me. Thats no way to run a pub.

Sind spontan das erste Mal ins McNamara's und waren rundum glücklich: nettes Team, tolle Karte, Essen sehr lecker!

Schöner Laden, bequeme Stühle. Stimmung ist entspannt die Bedienung war super nett und zuvorkommend. Der Bacon Cheeseburger war sehr lecker und frisch. Komme aufjedenfall wieder.

We had a lovely evening at this authentic Irish pub. The owner is the nicest guy, really passionate about what he does. The pub quiz was a lot of fun, I definitely recommend it.

Leckere und ausgefallene Burger. Ich hatte den "Rick and Morty" Burger mit Standard wedges und coleslaw, Als Nachtisch den Brownie. Alles in allem schon wegen den Speisen sehr gut. Wir haben uns dann spontan noch dazu entschieden beim Quiz mit zu machen, allerdings hat sich gezeigt das zwei mid30ern keine Chance gegen Gruppen mit 6-7 Personen haben. Aber das Ambiente und die Stimmung waren super und die Moderation des Quiz durch Michel war super! Und wir als noobs haben alles von ihm auch nochmal erklärt bekommen, danke dafür! Auch wenn wir vor der Auflösung der 2. Runde gehen mussten (Arbeit am nächsten Tag) konnten wir Teilweise noch den Livestream verfolgen, der seit Corona, immer noch statt findet 👍🏻⭐

Will originell wirken, ist für mich aber ein durchschnittlicher Irish-pub. Gegessen habe ich dort nichts, kann ich daher nicht bewerten.

Das McNamaras ist ein netter Pub, der auch gut besucht ist. Bezeichnend ist das der Service sehr nett und freundlich, aber vollkommen überfordert ist. Keine Bestellung hat auf anhieb funktioniert… aber sie sind wirklich freundlich

Leider war die Kellnerin sehr unfreundlich. Whiskys werden in Cola Gläser serviert und bei Nachfrage heißt es "wir servieren in Whiskys gläser nur wenn man "teuren" Whiskys bestellt!! Naja.. Die nächste Diskussion über :"Sie könnten auch die Gläser klauen" war einfach viel zu frech und beleidigend für uns sodass wir einfach gegangen sind. ** wir werden diese Bar nicht weiterempfehlen und gehen nicht mehr hin obwohl wir genau um die Ecke wohnen. Sehr schade

Die Bestellung des Essens entsprach nicht dem, was auf der Speisekarte stand. In der Speisekarte waren panierte Hähnchenstreifen angegeben, wirklich waren dann Chickenwings drauf. Bei der Reklamation erklärte das Personal: die Hähnchenstreifen gäbe es schon lange nicht mehr, es ist das gleiche Fleisch, außerdem seien die Chickenwings teurer und es habe sich noch nie jemand beschwert. Ich sagte freundlich, dass mir diese Art Fleisch aber nicht schmeckt und ich auch nicht darauf hingewiesen wurde, dass etwas Anderes auf dem Teller, als beschrieben, serviert wird, drehte sich die Bedienung weg und ging. Unqualifiziert, unfreundlich, kein Entgegenkommen seitens der Bedienung….sehr Schade, ich bin immer sehr gerne dort zum Essen gegangen, beim nächsten Mal werde ich mich wohl anders entscheiden 🤷🏻‍♀️

The best burgers in Germany. Listing them would take too much time. I've tried them all. Each one is a gem. They have a large vegan selection too.

Eine meiner Stammkneipen in Freiburg. Beste Burger der Stadt. Gute Whisky-auswahl und Sean berät immer gern, wenn es einem schwer fällt sich zu entscheiden. Pub Quiz am Sonntag ist immer ein Besuch wert!

Das Essen war gut, das Bier lecker, der Service nett. Wir hatten viel Spaß, da wir beim Quizabend mitgemacht haben. Die Preise sind ein bisschen happig, aber ansonsten alles hat gepasst :-)

Meiner Meinung nach das beste Pub in Freiburg.😍 Das McNamara's hat alles was es braucht, damit man sich dort zuhause fühlt und abschalten kann: vom super Essen (übrigens mit Abstand die besten Burger der Stadt), bis hin zur Atmosphäre und dem Service. Jeden Freitag gibt es Live Musik mit den unterschiedlichsten Musikrichtungen und Bands, sonntags findet ein wöchentliches Pub Quiz (auf Englisch und Deutsch) statt.🍀 Das Team um Seán ist einfach super nett und und hilfsbereit und sorgt wirklich dafür dass man sich absolut wohlfühlt. So hab ich kürzlich meinen Geburtstag dort gefeiert und wurde mit einem riesigen Geburtstagskuchen überrascht sowie einem Ständchen vom Live-Sänger.🤩🥰 Ich kann jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen dem McNamara's einen Besuch abzustatten um sich selber ein Bild zu machen und wie ich Stammgast zu werden! Mein Tipp: Für größere Gruppen oder an Freitagen und Sonntagen ist es empfehlenswert einen Tisch zu reservieren.

Tolles Essen (wir hatten Burger und überbackene Tortillas mit Pulled Pork und Käse). Gute Speiseauswahl und sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Freitags soll es wohl sehr gute Live-Music geben :) gerne wieder!

Typisch irisches, authentisches Pub, echt nette Bedienung und gutes Essen! In der Zeit unseres Aufenthaltes waren wir fast jeden Tag hier, es war immer super und gut besucht ☺

I'm still at the pub and I felt like writing my review right know, because they were super awesome to us. We were having a hard time trying to find a place to eat (everything was close) and they cooked for us even though the kitchen was already close. They were super friendly and the food was fantastic!!! Best Poutine ever!!! We even got some pretty cute pints of his Guinness! Totally recommended!!!

Wir waren im Juni hier essen und waren wirklich sehr enttäuscht. Man bekommt nicht das was man bestellt hat, der Salat (15€)war kein gemischter Salat sondern nur grün & hatte keine Croutons und keinen bacon, anders als auf der Karte stand. Das Hähnchen darauf war kalt. Der Burger (14€) sah zwar gut aus, doch das Fleisch war nicht selbst gemacht und zu durch, obwohl es anders bestellt wurde. Für das Essen haben wir zu zweit immerhin 50€ mit Getränken bezahlt, wobei man sagen muss dass das bier (Guiness) angestanden geschmeckt hat. Und haben zudem sehr lange gewartet. Wir waren über das schlechte Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr aufgebracht. Wir werden definitiv nicht ein zweites Mal kommen.
