Occhio d'Oro in Frankfurt am Main

We spontaneously dropped by for a few drinks and were informed that there were no tables available and that we could have our drinks on the terrace. Well, not ideal in sub-zero temperatures, but the fantastic view made up for it until the waiter offered us a table inside. Very tasty drinks and friendly, attentive staff from the door to the bar.

I have never had a better meal in Frankfurt! When you measure the view, ambience, service and quality of food - everything was a smash hit at Occhio d’Oro. We shared our appetizer (radicchio, burrata, octopus and tuna) and our mains (carbonara and branzino) and everything was bursting with flavour. Service was well paced and just the right amount of attentive, and the wine and cocktail selection was outstanding. I found the lighting and seating to be comfortable. Everything was so excellent that I can see why it was so busy even on a Tuesday! Consistency is king in the world of doing and this place never disappoints.

The restaurant has a gorgeous view of the skyscrapers, the food is delicious, but there are a lot of people, so I recommend reserving a table in advance.

The food at Occhio d’Oro was truly excellent – ​​delicious and beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the service severely marred the positive impression. We had to wait a very long time for our drinks, which were then served incorrectly. Empty glasses were repeatedly cleared away without a word, and no one asked if we wanted anything else. The waiter also didn't know the menu and couldn't explain the set menus – simply disappointing for a restaurant in this price range. It's a shame, because the kitchen team delivers, but the service currently doesn't match the quality of the food.

First of all, the food we ordered was truly delicious! Unfortunately, our assigned table didn't have the view we'd hoped for. At this price point, we were hoping for a bit more attentive service. If it were possible, I'd give it 3.5 stars.

Friendly service, authentic food

As a Düsseldorf resident, I've been regularly in Frankfurt for work for a year now. Of the various hotels I've had the pleasure or the privilege of getting to know, I always enjoy returning to the Flemings Selection and the Occio d'Oro. The view in the morning and the food are excellent, and even more so, the staff are capable of accommodating human variability. This applies to many there. Lumi and Christian at the Occio d'Oro, the concierge, and also the managing director, Mr. Speth, and his charming deputy, keep it up, better still, keep going. Best regards.

First of all: I've been to this restaurant several times, and I've always been very satisfied with the service and food. It's more about the bar. The drinks are well prepared, but the waiters/bartenders are very unprofessional, not at all proactive, not very customer-oriented, and were extremely rude when closing the bar. I therefore absolutely cannot recommend the bar.

Several years ago, I stood at the stove with Mauro Uliassi in Tuscany and discussed with him about rustic dishes and their honest flavors. He showed me very impressively how to refine any vegetable without destroying its authentic flavors. He also emphasized how important the finest olive oil is in this regard. Here at Occhio d'Oro, Andreas Hoffmann's team succeeds in bringing this style of cooking to the table. No unnecessary brushing or fuss, just straightforward and with a sensitive, artisanal touch. The vegetable cuisine at Occhio d'Oro is diverse and excellent anyway. Delicately melted in the finest olive oil, Andreas Hoffmann also gives spinach a grand entrance. With a beautiful piece of Iberico meat or fresh fish, fine olive oil, and a few herbs, a near-perfect combination and a magnificent taste experience are created. Delicious! The gnudi – dumplings made with ricotta and spinach – also delight all the senses. Creamy and delicate, prepared with a hint of Parmesan, they wallpaper the palate and immerse me in the indulgent Tuscany. The Occhio d'Oro (Golden Eye) conjures up a beautiful piece of Tuscany on the plate with countless variations and distinct regional expressions, as well as a generous portion of authentic flavors. For me, it's the Tuscan consulate general of enjoyment. The vibrant sunset reflects in the wine glass. They've cultivated this as well here at the Occhio d'Oro. Romance is part of their brand of hospitality. Here on the seventh floor of the Flening at Eschenheimer Tor, the Dolce Vita dances on the tables and in our senses. The lasting impression is that at the Occhio d'Oro, the cuisine and life of Tuscany can be enjoyed even far from Italy.

We had the Tuscan menu, with accompanying wine, but unfortunately, neither the food nor the wine had anything to do with Tuscany. While the ambiance was lovely and the service attentive, the overall experience was disappointing. For the price of €150 per person, I would have expected significantly more authenticity.

If you're in Frankfurt and looking for a special place to enjoy a complete experience of sights, tastes, and human warmth, Occhio d'Oro is a must-see. And if you need advice... ask for Giuseppe!

Had a wonderful menu and a great evening - attentive service - best ambience - thank you

The food was mostly very tasty, well-balanced in flavor, and sometimes sophisticated. One or two dishes were "just" good. We can't recommend the spaghetti ice cream, especially not at the price of €16. The tiramisu was good. Overall, though, we'd say it's better to stick to the appetizers. ;) What's great about Occhio d'Oro is that they offer a flat-rate water rate, which is included in the €6 per person caperto. The view was fantastic on a summer evening - a great view directly onto the Eschenheimer Tor, the skyline all the way to the Taunus Mountains. Sitting on the terrace is surprisingly quiet - there are, of course, the occasional noisemaker on the street. The interior is also very stylish, bright, and inviting. The service, overall, was somewhat "interesting" - two young, not yet fully trained (temporary?) waiters and one somewhat spontaneous waiter. The food definitely arrived at the same time and hot/cold, as it should. Therefore overall very satisfactory.

We had a unique evening and have rarely been served so well. Samim, in particular, made it a special evening for us. Highly recommended!

We booked the venue with a skyline view for our intimate wedding and were completely satisfied. The four-course menu was varied, more than sufficient, and incredibly delicious. We received friendly and proactive service throughout. Wines are available in all price ranges. There's definitely an affordable selection for a special occasion. We also received consistently positive feedback from our guests. Also worth mentioning is the nostalgic elevator, which makes the journey upstairs a truly special experience. We'd love to come back for our one-year wedding anniversary. Many thanks to the entire team.

Great view over Frankfurt, pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious food. It was incredibly hot that day, and an extra umbrella or two on the terrace would have been very helpful. All in all, a lovely evening with good food. The dessert was a bit weak but okay. A tip for the burnt lavender... (the nearly 80 dried-out plants) need very little water, and the soil was far too wet. Otherwise, highly recommended and worth a visit.

The food was delicious, and the view of the skyline is fantastic. Tip: use the paternoster lift, rare and somewhat iconic.

The service staff was very friendly and helpful. The appetizers were very good and reasonably priced, but the main courses were disappointing. The T-bone steak was cold and of poor quality, and the bread served was neither warm nor particularly tasty. The ambiance and view of Frankfurt were excellent, but the drinks were mediocre, and cocktails over €15 weren't particularly impressive. Around €600 for seven people – for this price range, the food didn't meet my expectations.

The restaurant on the 7th floor of the Fleming's Hotel offers a fantastic view over Frankfurt – truly impressive! The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was top-quality, but in our opinion, too expensive. One small downside: The chairs at the dining table were very soft and more like lounges – not particularly comfortable for eating. Overall, a lovely evening with a great view – definitely recommended for special occasions.

The bar renovation was a great benefit for the establishment. It was packed on Saturday. The poor staff are working hard to cope with the rush. Friendly and committed to giving guests a pleasant evening. Please address a request to the staff office. Make sure you have enough staff at this important location, at least on the weekend, to improve the atmosphere.

The four-course wine pairing menu prepared by our waiter, Francesco, was simply fabulous. We were here for our anniversary dinner, and the view from the rooftop terrace, along with the fantastic food, couldn't have been better. Highly recommended!

Delicious food, amazing restaurant and beautiful view

Two of us arrived at 9 p.m. to have a drink on the terrace and were told that the outside area was full and that the tables outside were reserved for dinner guests - legitimate, more revenue per table - all fine. We said we'd come back later, the waiter was happy to say yes - we were back at 10:30 p.m., there were clearly enough tables free outside and yet we were told that the tables outside were reserved for dinner. They close at midnight and the waiter couldn't tell us when the tables would be free for bar use. No point. Plus we were hotel guests in the building and it didn't matter to him anyway, someone might show up for dinner 15 minutes before the restaurant closes lol.

We've been there twice so far and had the set menu both times. The food was very good, and the ambiance and view were lovely. We'd love to come back.

I would have preferred to have been greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. The service staff were friendly, but seemed a bit stressed. The view was truly beautiful, but the food unfortunately didn't live up to its reputation: The menu was confusing, and it was often unclear what exactly each dish contained. The taste of the food fell short of expectations and, in my opinion, didn't justify the price. Definitely recommended for a drink with a beautiful view—but I wouldn't go back for dinner.

On a business trip, I look at restaurants with a view and this pops up in my head. Without any expectations, other than the view, I go up and sit down. In addition to the food which is really good, but the staff is 10 stars. Giuseppe is among the coolest in the place. To any person reading this, come up here

We had the 4-course menu and it was wonderful, especially the view is of course spectacular! Two small points of criticism: But first of all - price-performance is very good! 1) The portions were just too big. Sounds strange, but it is true. We were already full after the second course, even though we are pretty good eaters. But you don't want to leave anything left over for various reasons. 25% smaller portions would also be completely ok! 2) The waiting times were sometimes quite long. We had to wait >30 minutes especially for the main course, so such a small menu takes 2.5 hours. Kind of nice, but here too 25% would have been less good ;) But we'll be back!

Very tasty recipes! We chose the surprise menu and were initially worried, but these were not necessary. A 4-course menu with really large portions, everything with attention to detail. The only point of criticism is the starter (bread + olives & artichoke). I would have liked warm bread here and the olives were slightly “stale”.

The cocktails and the ambiance, especially the terrace, were appealing. However, if you can do without the skyline view, you'll find similar options at other rooftop bars. Our visit was primarily for the culinary delights, and we were looking forward to a four-course meal. Upon arrival, we received a friendly welcome, were shown to our table, and were given the menu and wine list. However, when we tried to order the set menu, we were told that all the menu items were already sold out – and this on a Friday evening, even though we had reserved a month in advance. No big deal, we thought, and put together our own meal from the regular menu. Unfortunately, the quality of the food didn't meet our expectations: the bread for the Coperto was dry, the Linguine Nere di Mare was too trivial, the swordfish was too firm, and the octopus was tough – unacceptable at average prices of €30 per dish. The service, although attentive, was uncoordinated: Orders were forgotten or incorrectly executed, and wait times were long, even though the restaurant wasn't full. Overall, we were disappointed with the experience, especially with a bill of over €500. Fine dining, unfortunately, was only defined by the ambiance and the prices.

What a unique experience. Beautiful location with a breathtaking view at sunset. The food is top notch, really top Italian. The wine list is a mix of German and Italian wines of calibre, supplemented with a few French pearls. Book well in advance and request a table on the outside terrace or by the window. It is also possible to just have a smooth drink at the bar.

Nice but strange place. 1. The waiter let us know that even though we had reserved a table, if we weren't going to order dinner, we might be moved from our table to the bar. What difference does it make what I order? Why can't I eat dessert with wine at my table in peace, especially since there were four of us? 2. They added a bottle of water to our check that we didn't even ask for or open (!). Water costs €6.

This is the second time I have eaten at the top-floor restaurant. The last time I came here was before the epidemic. It was renovated and the layout of the restaurant has changed, but the design is just right :) You need to make a reservation in advance to come to the restaurant. You can make a reservation by phone or directly online. Once the reservation information is confirmed, it is OK. The service staff will bring you to the designated table. The dining table is large and wide with ample space. This is great👍🏼 My friend and I chose the 4-course Menü, because I was very hungry at the time. If you choose the 3 or 4-course Menü, both of you need to choose, and there is no fixed menu. The chef will give you "surprise dishes" based on the ingredients... I think it is quite interesting. The appetizers will be served to you according to the number of people. We got 4 appetizers, as shown in Figure 2-5. They all taste delicious and amazing. The shrimp and cucumber🀄️ actually tasted like Chinese food🥹👍🏼👍🏼 The difference between a 3-course meal and a 4-course meal is that there is a course of pasta before the main meal. If you are not very hungry, I personally do not recommend a 4-course meal because the pasta is average and nothing special. The main meals are shown in Figures 10-12, and there is also a mashed potato dish. I didn’t think the photos looked good, so I didn’t post them... The main dishes each have their own merits, but overall they taste good👍🏼 The dessert pairing is quite interesting, pear + chocolate mousse + pistachio cookie crumbs, I think the taste is just average. It's really nice to sit in and the atmosphere is very good. The food was also good - we especially enjoyed the dessert. The bar is well stocked and slightly separated from the restaurant. I got a table as a single guest without registering. Thanks for that! The space in the open kitchen was too busy for me. Do you know “The Table”? You don't even hear the chefs! The bench to the table was too low (the entire neighboring table made fun of that because the four men felt the same way). 6 euros for bread/olives/oil are unnecessary. The fennel starter was perfectly prepared - but sourly bland. Roast beef very well done. Very dense white chocolate brownie. You have to be measured by your price requirements and unfortunately that doesn't fit 100% here.

Wunderschönes Restaurant, tolles Ambiente. Sehr freundliches Service und auch das Essen war sehr lecker.

Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm, der Service freundlich.wenn man sich mal etwas gönnen ist dies der richtige Ort. Es gibt auch sehr gute alkoholfreie Hugo die meinen Gästen gut geschmeckt haben. Der Wein war gut und auch die Speisen fanden haben allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Es ist nicht günstig aber ich finde der Abend war sein Geld wert!

Very nice experience, after dinner for New Year's Eve, the view was wonderful, the place was very beautiful and attention to detail was taken, the service was not impeccable but it was New Year's Eve and it is understandable... the dishes at the counter were collected after a long time and there wasn't much space to place the glasses. The prices are obviously quite high.. but that's normal!! Too bad there wasn't simple prosecco... 50 euros each to stand at the counter is excessive but you're paying for the view. The very nice and classy environment with very polite customers.

The New Year's Eve menu is simply a dream, plus the view of the Frankfurt skyline.

Top Essen, Bedienung gut, Preis Leistungsverhältnis Top. Aussicht schön. 1 Stern Abzug, da die Portionen eigentlich zu groß sind. Sonst gerne wieder.

Let's start with the positive: very nice location and nice ambience. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends. What did we have? The 4 course menu for 79€ Eating: ambitious, but unfortunately unable to do it for long stretches. No timing. Inadequate presentation. Starters: oh well. A mishmash, none of it really good. Pasta course: ok Main course: Meat and fish were cold. Side dishes were the saddest thing I've had at an Italian restaurant in a long time. Dessert: I can't say anything about it because by then I wasn't interested anymore due to the quality, the waiting time (3 hours) and the service. Absolutely no recommendation. Price-performance: underground. Too bad.

Super leckeres Essen, ganz toller Service und nette Menschen

Wir sind davon ausgegangen was zu essen leider stand nirgends wo das man nur da essen kann wenn man um 17uhr da ist, wir waren super enttäuscht und hungrig und hatten eine lange Anfahrt dahin da wir nicht von da kommen, und haben für den Eintritt 55€ bezahlt wo wir meinten es wird sich lohnen da man da schön essen kann und eine schöne Aussicht haben wird aber leider war das nicht der Fall sind dann doch nicht länger als geplant geblieben wollen noch die Aussicht um 0uhr noch genießen wenigstens das die 55€ Eintritt sich wenigstens ein wenig gelohnt haben und sind dann anschließend wo anders essen gegangen die uns besser aufgenommen haben als da !!!! Da haben wir was in einem Silvester Abend mir was ganz anderes vorstellt !!!!

Waren für die Silvester Nacht Wiederholungst und es war wie immer top. Essen mit Weinbegleitung top. Auch der Service war trotz Unerfahrenheit sehr bemüht und hat sich ein extra Trinkgeld verdient. Alles tip top organisiert und die Kulisse spricht für sich.

Really great!! The service is extremely attentive, professional and friendly. All of the dishes we had in the 4-course menu tasted excellent. The cocktails were also exclusive and delicious. The view on the roof terrace is beautiful. Absolutely recommended.
