The shop is booming and we are happy to get a spot in the garden. Right in the heart of Alt-Sachsenhausen you can enjoy traditional Frankfurt cuisine of very good quality in a beautifully decorated ambience. The extensive cider selection can make you dizzy. When I asked about a cider rosé, the waiter recommended a special cider made from red-fleshed apples, the "Red Adam". Served in rib-stemmed glasses and with a seductive red color, this exotic wine is a visual pleasure alone, its taste surprises with its delicate fruity aroma. From the menu we choose appetizers, including green sauce with quail egg, bratwurst with mashed potatoes and onion jam, and a hand cheese salad is a must. The green sauce is perfectly chopped, the sausage could use a little more browning, but everything tastes very tasty. We will definitely come back.

Thank you for the spontaneous interlude and the relaxed and relaxed manner of the staff. As always, the food was first class, lots of regional products with a Frankfurt story on the menu. Highly recommended, which is why we have been regular guests since 2017. A little fun on the side: Do you only get the tour of the kitchen and the chat with the boss as a (supposedly) dissatisfied guest? 😁

We were in Lorsbacher Thal with around 230 people for a company event. It was an all-round successful evening, there were small bites from the menu, from hand cheese to green sauce to meatballs on sauerkraut. The food was great, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was just great. I can fully recommend the Lorsbacher Thal.

I couldn't resist trying the iconic "Grüne Soße" (green sauce) served with eggs and potatoes. This is a local Frankfurt specialty made from a blend of seven fresh herbs, creamy, and the perfect accompaniment to the simplicity of boiled eggs and potatoes. The apple wine, or "Apfelwein," was another experience altogether. Unlike the sweet ciders I’m used to, this one was delightfully sour—something I wasn’t quite prepared for, but it definitely grew on me. Lorsbacher Thal offers an authentic, no-frills experience that’s all about enjoying the flavors of Frankfurt in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. If you're in the city, check this spot out.

The good times are long gone. Extremely expensive for poor quality. Our schnitzel is almost underground. All dishes warmed up even the schnitzel. A disgrace for the price. It's a shame it was really very good!

Excellent Frankfurt apple wine industry. Traditional cuisine, great location in Alt Sachsenhausen. The only drawback in the beautiful courtyard is the not so nice party tent. Be sure to reserve in good time.

This place has the best schnitzel I’ve had in Frankfurt. Too bad the experience was ruined by the dishonest behavior of the waiters. The head waiter added a €38 tip to our bill, insisting it was a compulsory service charge. We later confirmed with locals that, in Germany, tipping is optional and should be at the customer's discretion. Enjoy the food, but be wary of the waiters inflating your bill!

The best Schweinshaxe I’ve had in Germany! The meat was perfectly juicy and tender, not overly fatty, because it had been marinated in cider for 24 hours. There were also lots of options for cider. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience authentic German cuisine in Frankfurt.

I’ve had pork knuckle in Berlin and a Munich numerous times, but I have to say I’m impressed by the preparation here. Many are able to get the outside the right amount of crispy, but few have gotten the inside so juicy and tender. The only thing I was missing from this version of haxn was the gravy and knödel, but this is more a personal preference. They serve it without gravy and with mashed potatoes here. Sauerkraut that came with it was perfect.

In Lorsbacher Thal you can meet Frankfurters and international visitors, but not traditional tourists. It is the apple pub of the Sachsenhausen region and is known far beyond. In the middle of Altsachs, the restaurant is still quietly located in the inner courtyard, away from the hustle and bustle. The service is professional, attentive and always friendly. Sitting outside is just really nice and the food is very tasty and of high quality. Here they are still honest and do not hide overpriced prices with marketing phrases, but are open about the increased costs, have adjusted the prices to an acceptable level and deliver quality that represents a top price-performance ratio. The food was great (Frankfurter Schnitzel with a brilliant green sauce), but unfortunately the espresso was lukewarm. Therefore a star deduction.

I visited Lorsbacher Thal for the first time today and have to say that the service provided by Denis was more than just great and, above all, the cider was terrific. Great recommendations received from Denis, thank you for the great stay!

Was here with friends for the first time. We were served by a super friendly waiter, Denis, and I have to say that the service was top notch. 4.9 out of 5 possible stars We were a group of about 20 people and had made advance reservations and placed our orders in advance. This worked 99% smoothly - but a small error was noticed beforehand and corrected immediately by our friendly waitress Alex. The home-cold cider was excellent, as was the food (starter: Handkäs, main course: Berliner Buletten). Particularly noteworthy is Alex's attention when it came to our drinks - we've experienced this differently in other restaurants! A tiny “minus point” is the ambience: it was a bit dark outside in the tent, but still comfortable, and we were happy to have a dry place. All in all, it was a thoroughly successful evening that we will certainly enjoy here again. A big thank you to Alex and his team!

It's actually quite nice to sit there and the food tastes good. Unfortunately, the service staff was very rude and rude to us even before we were placed, so we didn't feel like staying there anymore. We then preferred to go to another cider bar. Unfortunately, given this experience, I will no longer be able to recommend the restaurant.

Food and cider were good. However, the price-performance ratio was not balanced for us. Maybe the place has just become too touristy now.

Here you can find traditional specialties at the highest level. The cuisine is incredibly tasty and high quality. There is a proof of origin for every dish. Sitting outside is a great experience, the courtyard is huge. Anyone who has the chance to visit the apple wine cellar will have a great experience and experience one of the largest collections of apple wine in the world. I go there regularly and am always happy

Beautiful Äppelwoi restaurant right in the heart of Alt-Sachsenhausen. Many national specialties. Everything was super tasty. The service staff was super friendly and attentive. We had a lovely evening. Many thanks to the whole team.

We went for a drink once, but the cider selection is great and the service very friendly, even later on a Saturday evening. It was also very nice on the second visit, delicious food with meatballs or Frankfurter schnitzel and recommended (apple) wines

If you want to experience authentic Frankfurt delicacy, this is the right place. The gruner sauce is sehr lecker. I tried plant based schnitzel with frankfurter green sauce and potatoes and i now have a happy belly.

Nice beer garden and really delicious food. However, expensive for small portions. And extra requests will not be taken into account. I asked if I could also get the side salad as a large salad, as otherwise there was only beetroot salad. Didn't work. So I ordered a hand cheese for 5€, a thaler without bread came next to the side salad for 6€. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that there was bread with the hand cheese until I had finished eating. With a 0.4l Cola zero I ended up with a final amount of €16.50. Which I think is a lot for two starters and a cola. Service was friendly, we easily waited 10 minutes to pay. The beer garden at the back is really beautiful with fairy lights.

Tasty Frankfurt cuisine, whether hand cheese, schnitzel with green sauce or apple rings, it tastes great. Also served by friendly staff. Restaurants also have their charm. However: this part of Sachsenhausen appears dirty and dilapidated. Lots of empty and dilapidated buildings, with bars and ATMs in between. Sorry, Old Frankfurt doesn't deserve that.

Hessian cuisine in a beautiful ambience with fast, friendly service - the rude, unfriendly service in some Äppler pubs is often tried to justify with "local color" and "typical Hessian". Here the guest can also order a beer without receiving derisive comments. Incredibly hard-working, friendly caretaker who looked after the lost glasses. If you return the kindness, with a bit of luck you will be shown the winery in the cellar.

Rightly so, the best cider bar in Frankfurt - the service staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the cuisine is excellent, the cider list is the largest in the world and the ambience is just like “at home…” and above all you really have the feeling to be not “just” any guest, but “THE” guest that you were waiting for, the one that good friends invited to dinner.

Waren vor unserem reservierten Termin da, es war sehr voll, aber Service war sehr gut, wir mussten nicht lange warten. Preis-Leistung hier angemessen, Essen sehr schmackhaft und frisch. Bratkartoffel könnten etwas knuspriger sein, aber vom Geschmack sehr gut.

When I recommend an apple wine bar to someone in Frankfurt, it is always this one or its sister bar a few meters away. Great food, pleasant ambience that skilfully combines modern and classic and appears to be of high quality. In summer the garden is very cozy with its lighting and invites you to linger in the evenings. The staff is always friendly and you'll be happy to go back again and again :)

Schnitzel and green sauce was ok. There are large salads on offer, but they are really Mau, green salad with apple and horseradish on it, that's it, the price is €15.80! absolutely not appropriate. Unfortunately my poor friend left hungry.

Ich war etwa enttäuscht von den deutlich kleineren Portionen im Vergleich zu meinem letzten Besuch vor ein paar Monaten. Die Qualität des Essens und der Service waren weiterhin hervorragend, aber wir wurden nicht richtig satt. Das freundliche Personal und die gemütliche Atmosphäre bleiben ein Pluspunkt, aber die Portionsgröße sollte überdacht werden.

Leider gibt es nur "Helles" Bier. Ich bin eigentlich Pilstrinker. Das Helle finde ich etwas dünn im Geschmack

Excellent restaurant serving typical German cuisine. We ate a wonderful pork shank and a veal cutlet with a phenomenal green sauce and potatoes. We were served by a very kind waiter called Julius. Made us feel at home in Germany. Recommended to everyone if you want to eat real Frankfurt cuisine

I suddenly wanted to drink apple cider, so I went to this shop with a good reputation. I entered the store as soon as it opened. To accompany apple wine, try pork cutlet ``schnitzel.'' I thought beer would go better with schnitzel, but it's not a bad combination. Even though I was alone, I was greeted warmly by the staff. A shop with a nice atmosphere and nice staff. It was a wonderful time. I will eat there again.

Wir hatten einen ganz tollen und vor allem einen authentischen Abend. Wir haben als Kölner wunderbare Frankfurter Küche kennengelernt. Das Ambiente und das Essen ist eher rustikal, aber man merkt, dass die Speisen von hoher Qualität sind. So wünscht man sich das als Gast!

Im Lorsbacher Tal schmeckt das Essen ohne Frage hervorragend. Der Service ist wahnsinnig aufmerksam. Die Location an sich sehr groß, aber auch relativ geräuschvoll. Die Preise sind schon im höheren Bereich angesetzt, was gerade bei den mini Vorspeisen leicht überzogen erscheint. Nichtsdestotrotz ist es sehr empfehlenswert!

Quaint German spot with lots of German personality, beers, apple wine & award winning schnitzel! My husband loved. We were in town during asparagus season & the strawberry asparagus salads were all good. I ordered THE BIG crispy pork knuckle, which was truly BIG & CRISPY, but I missed the descriptor that the suckling knuckle was the ladies choice. It’s served just as crispy with same sides, but would have been better portion for me; but I insisted I wanted THE BIG CRISPY!!! It was delicious, but I felt wasteful when we couldn’t finish even half!! Beers were good! I’ll be back when in Frankfurt. Nice walk from the hotel along the Mainz River across the Iron walking bridge & green-space parks along the river. Restaurant does sit back from the cobblestone road/alley way with a courtyard entrance & the outdoor communal seating really completes the package for FULL ON German ambiance. Met new friends from London, Frankfurt, & S.Korea! We will be returning!

Really an excellent experience. The restaurant is making the most out of German traditions and offers a great outdoor seating, super delicious food and outstanding soulful service. Stefan hosted us really well and gave excellent recommendations. The traditional food is cooked excellently and making the most of traditional German food. The vegetarian options are also nice and the salad with mushrooms is recommendable. The quality of the food was superb. I would encourage everyone from near or far, to visit.

First asparagus for me in 2024. It was very tasty, albeit expensive. Previously I had a microscopic asparagus soup. Yes, it was delicious, it didn't fill you up, so there's a deduction.
