Everything was great and very tasty. We only asked for mayo twice and didn't get it. But we come here regularly and will do so again in the future.

We went out to eat with friends, the waiter was pushy. He interfered in private conversations that were none of his business and tried too hard to be funny. The food wasn't good; some of the meat was tough and barely chewable, and it was very overpriced.

Ideal location on Lake Harik September 30, 2025 Regarding card payments of €50 or more: How does the host react if a guest learns of this restriction after eating and doesn't have enough cash?

I'd rather not give it a star. But I have to say that the ambiance and the freshly tapped beer were really good. Even though the outdoor terrace wasn't busy and the waiter was on the terrace, we waited 20 minutes for the waitress. After placing our order, we received our order within a minute. Unfortunately, it was cold!! We ordered two gyro plates and a side salad with cocktail dressing. The salad was served with a curry dressing, unfortunately not our taste. The main course was substantial. Unfortunately, we found a long black hair in our gyro!! This spoiled our appetite. After waiting 10 minutes to voice our complaint, our food was cleared away without comment. After another five minutes, the waitress returned with an apology and an offer of ouzo or dessert on the house. We politely declined. After which we were left behind again without comment. After another five minutes and a complaint at the bar, we were "only" charged for the drinks and the salad. The staff was plentiful, but unfortunately stressed and unfriendly. Our conclusion: First and last time!!!

At the end of our long hike, we wanted to eat at this restaurant. We'd prefer not to give it a star, but the ambiance was very pleasant. Upon arriving at the terrace, we were ignored for at least 20 minutes, despite the waiter, even though the outdoor terrace was barely occupied. We ordered two gyro plates, a side salad with cocktail dressing, a wheat beer, and a Coke. The beer tasted very good, freshly tapped. The salad was served with a curry dressing instead of cocktail dressing. The main course arrived within a minute of ordering and was cold. The highlight of the main course was a long, thick, black hair in the food. After waiting almost 10 minutes for the waitress to explain our request, the food was cleared away without comment, and the waitress disappeared. No one else cared. Only after my husband went to the counter did the waitress come and offer us ouzo or dessert as an apology. We declined. Nevertheless, we were still able to honor the drinks and salad. Conclusion: Still hungry and never again!

But honestly, the drink prices are outrageously expensive! Almost 9 (!!!) euros for a glass of average wine in Schwalmtal/Niederkrüchten. No!!!!! I'll go to other restaurants, what a shame.

Friendly staff, and lots of delicious food!!

Unfortunately, now 8 years later, I have to downgrade my review from 4 to 3 stars. The prices have become unbelievably expensive. I just ordered gyro meat with zarziki, but without fries and without salad. So just meat with a bit of zarziki (17.50€) plus a ginger ale - the total cost there was 21.40€.... I was speechless. The amount was also manageable. I tipped despite the still poor service. Among other things, they didn't want to/couldn't take the ginger ale order with the food... I find it incomprehensible for one person and such simple things. A smile never hurt anyone, and you should really pay attention to whether the customer wants anything else. For me, this has now become a luxury that you indulge in less often than usual. What a shame.

The quality at this restaurant has declined significantly, while the prices have risen significantly. We waited almost 1.5 hours for our food – and were then fobbed off with a watery plaice fillet (€19.90) and a nearly empty plate. We used to really enjoy coming here often. But after this disappointing experience, we're certain: We won't be coming back. It's a real shame!

Several of us went there for dinner. First, we were asked if we wanted to pay individually, but card payments were only accepted for amounts over €50. We were there right now and were immediately asked how we wanted to pay??! Okay, we ordered drinks, three people got something, and the rest had to be reordered. Then we ordered something to eat. There were nine of us, and two had a different dish. It's actually pretty easy for a restaurant. Our food came in three batches. The first batch went straight back; the food was cold. The first few were almost finished when the rest of us got theirs. Okay, we ordered another round of drinks, but the waiter only came back with three drinks. Even on the second attempt, some of the drinks were still missing. The meat was so heavily seasoned that a day later I was extremely thirsty and had to drink something constantly. Could this possibly have something to do with the quality of the meat? One of the managers was sitting on the counter with his feet propped up on the opposite side, playing with his phone. One of the waiters was busy fishing food out of his teeth, staring into the restaurant, and served food without washing his hands afterward. There was no soap or paper in the restrooms. We had to pick up the bill that was presented to us at the counter, and of course, it was overcharged. The manager's wife danced through the restaurant and said everything was beautiful. I had heard a lot about the restaurant but wanted to see for myself. I was simply speechless, I was at a loss for words. Once and never again.

Even though there was still food on all the tables outside, or people were still eating. The unfriendly employee said they wouldn't have opened at 2 p.m. for a little girl who just wanted a small French fry. So the three adults didn't eat anything there either.

Yes, we found it very nice there

Card payments only for orders over €50. This should have been communicated beforehand or displayed somewhere, but they don't! Food was okay. Service could really be improved, and the seating in the restaurant was completely unacceptable! During our visit, we suddenly heard extremely loud music coming from inside. We couldn't have a conversation outside and it wasn't turned off. Definitely paid parking on weekends. Oh well 🫤

We were looking forward to cake and happily paid the €2.50 parking fee just to get to the restaurant. We weren't allowed to sit outside and had to wait to be seated. The waitress took our order for coffee and cake. Since it was after 2:30 p.m., no cake was served, which was the best time for coffee at 3:30 p.m.

I can't comment on the food because it didn't happen. You have to call on the terrace to get a table. Everything's empty after 5 p.m. The waiter doesn't even look at you and is on his phone. Then he starts sorting the cutlery!!! We left after waiting 10 minutes. Absolutely outrageous behavior!!!!

We were there for the first time today. We were absolutely thrilled with the ambiance and the food. Incredibly friendly service from start to finish. We had a grill plate for one. We ate as a couple and were stuffed. The gyro was incredibly delicious. The tzatziki was made by angels, it was so good. The meat was absolutely juicy. A truly fantastic experience. Thanks to the kitchen. Not pushy service, especially. All the staff were very attentive. We will definitely be back. We look forward to our next visit.

We came in here on a whim and had a bad feeling as soon as we walked in because we were told that card payments only accepted orders over €50. Honestly? What's the point? We ordered anyway. For those with a bit of an appetite, we had plaice with a baked potato and a gyro with fries. The food arrived within 5 minutes and tasted just as good. The plaice was soggy from the microwave and the baked potato was cold inside🥴 The fries: I can't think of any words for that and the gyro was very salty and greasy. In the end we were asked to pay €43, but only in cash as it was under €50. That seemed a bit high to me, so I asked for a bill. The man didn't like that, but gave it to me and what do I see: my meal had been charged €3 more. It's a scam and I'm seeing it more and more often, unfortunately. I mean, if they only do it to 30 people a day, then it's a nice way to earn extra money 👎🏻 And before this gets deleted, please take a look at the photos.

Impudent and arrogant..not wanting to serve someone just because they are 20 minutes early and have difficulty walking, not even offering them a place to sit is disgusting....as nice as it is there, I will not set foot in it, humanity is a foreign word there.

With a bit of luck and patience, you can sit outside when the weather is nice. The terrace is lovely and conveniently located with a large parking lot. The food is excellent, though it's quite plentiful.

This Greek restaurant is truly a little gem – beautifully and idyllically situated, right on a jetty on Lake Hariksee. The view of the water alone is impressive. The servers are prompt, attentive, and always cheerful, which makes the visit even more pleasant. You feel welcome and well looked after from the very first moment. The food is highly recommended: The portions are generous, and the taste is always spot on. Whether meat, fish, or vegetarian – everything is just right here. For us, this is definitely the best Greek restaurant in the Viersen district. A quick tip: Be sure to make a reservation in advance, preferably via the OpenTable app. The restaurant is particularly busy on weekends or during peak times – which just goes to show how popular it is and how much the quality is valued here. In conclusion: If you want to experience good food, a great view, and authentic Greek service, you should definitely stop by!

You can tell this is a well-run establishment. The staff and kitchen are well-equipped to handle the many diners who enjoy dining there. The quality of the food and the speed of service are beyond expectations!

It sometimes takes about 5-10 minutes to get a seat unless you make a reservation. Then you wait the same amount of time before you can order drinks. The food doesn't arrive until later, and usually the first drink is already gone by then. But the friendliness and taste make up for it all...

The menu has been significantly reduced, which is a shame. The taste has deteriorated considerably. They also no longer serve chips. Half of the fries were small and hard. The glasses aren't particularly clean. It's a shame.

Unfortunately, the music was very loud. The lunch menu was limited, with little choice. The seating was for the bulky waste. Very disappointed, as we hadn't been there in a while due to health reasons.

Beautiful excursion destination with pedal boat ride

One of our favorite restaurants: The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and especially in good weather, when you can sit right on a jetty by Lake Hariksee, you can enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. The owners and staff are very friendly, but unfortunately, you occasionally have to wait a bit longer for a server to order new drinks, which is why we deducted one star for service.

We were there at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. We wanted to order food and drinks straight away. But the waitress said that wasn't possible, only drinks, and to order the food later. Shortly before 5 p.m. the menus were swapped. We were then able to order our food from 5 p.m. onwards. They kept checking to see if we wanted to order more drinks. The food tasted amazing, even though we had ordered mayonnaise several times, which unfortunately never arrived. It appeared later on the bill, along with, strangely, four drinks. I put it right, and it was immediately removed. Because we had to wait so long, it was clear that the staff are trained to sell a lot of drinks. The table next to us ordered a wine, and hey presto, two were brought. The waitress won over the guests with her charm, and they then took both drinks.

We were at Notres am Hariksee again today – and as always, it was simply outstanding! Despite a completely full venue, including the wedding party, the service was extremely friendly, attentive, and well-organized. The food was incredibly delicious, freshly prepared, generously portioned, and perfectly flavored. We were particularly impressed by how dedicated and professional the entire team remained, even during peak times. We felt welcome and appreciated at all times. We had – as always – a wonderful stay and will definitely be back soon. A big thank you to the entire Notres team!

Solid food, but nothing special. The seating is very nice, inside or outside, often with a view of the lake. Prices are rather high.

The restaurant's location is excellent. Since we were very hungry, we wanted to order food along with our drinks. This was denied. After what felt like an eternity, we were finally allowed to place our order. Accordingly, it took another while for the food to be served. It was okay. Nothing special, but delicious. The service was terrible. I have never been treated so badly as a guest in my life. After ordering my drinks, the bottle of Coke was slammed down at the end of the table without a glass and without eye contact. When I called out that I needed another glass, I was skillfully ignored. Perhaps they should introduce self-service here to spare guests the completely overwhelmed and annoyed staff. Paying was quick again.

We discovered this inn by chance on a bike ride. It's beautifully situated by the lake. The service was very friendly and prompt. The cuisine is Greek-inspired, and the food is truly delicious. Highly recommended.

The website doesn't mention that the menu is now only available from 5 p.m. There's very little food to choose from until 5 p.m. The service was very unfriendly. The biggest joke, however, is that you can only pay with a card for orders over €50. Parking costs €2.50.

Enjoying the Lower Rhine today at Lake Hariksee. Plus, a visit to Notre's Location, a prime location with a very relaxed atmosphere. I ate here for the first time today at lunchtime (4 adults, one child). The menu is concise – and that's a good thing! Starter: bruchetta, main course: Metaxa schnitzel, gyros, each with fries. Wow – the food was top-notch in terms of taste and portion size, and the price was reasonable. Friendly staff.

Dr. Gyros knows how to do it! Super delicious, even smaller portions upon request. The price/performance ratio is absolutely reasonable. Reservations are recommended in the evenings. The menu is varied. Always happy to return.

We've been coming there for many years, but the last few times I've been really disappointed. It's normal for prices to go up, but I think €3.50 extra for hunter's sauce with the schnitzel is steep. The food is just served on the plate like at a chip shop, whereas before they used to garnish it with tomato and cucumber. Chips are very hard, like they've been pre-fried. A side salad that now has to be ordered and paid for separately isn't recommended anymore. To top it all off, card payments are only possible for over €50, which I've never experienced before. And on top of that, the lady didn't seem to want to pay for the food and drinks separately, so the full bill was put on the table and then we had to do it ourselves. That was definitely my last visit there.

Due to summer we sat outside again. It is a popular, busy family restaurant.. The food is great... The location is great!! On the water. As an Italian family, we love the Greek Mediterranean atmosphere and authentic dishes.. We eat more often in Greek restaurants. And some offer a free ouzo or you can hear Greek music in the background. I missed that a bit here... I think that used to be the case at this restaurant but not anymore. The menu was also different than a few years ago. No salads with the dishes. We were not asked if we wanted them either. No one came to the table in between to ask if everything was to our liking. After clearing the table, we were not asked if we wanted a dessert. It was just too busy. That takes away that extra bit of personal attention and that is a great shame... We had children with us who would have liked another ice cream but no one came to the table anymore. When you've finished eating you're not important anymore and I got the feeling that they wanted to free our table because there were people waiting for a table... And then in my eyes you're nothing more than a number... So we paid and left..

We were offered a table, but we preferred to sit at the edge. When we politely asked if we could sit at the other table, the waiter immediately replied, "No, we can't." Another waiter made it possible, however. Thank you again for that. We stood at the edge and waited until the table was ready. While we were waiting, we were told (presumably by the "boss") not to wait there but around the corner. This, however, was done in a tone that was nothing short of arrogant and unfriendly. We placed our order, and the food arrived about 30 minutes later and tasted good. We briefly asked if our picture could be taken. The "boss" responded by saying, "Just a minute, I'll be right back." Instead, we were completely ignored after that, and he deliberately chose to chat with other customers while deliberately looking in our direction. A simple "it's too busy at the moment, don't take it personally" would have been a much better solution. All in all, I advise everyone not to go there. The only "positive" thing is the view. Better find another place where, above all, you'll be treated with respect and kindness!

Very nice ambiance right on Lake Harik; in good weather, you can sit right by the water. We were there with four people on a sunny Tuesday right when it opened at 5:00 PM. It was already quite full, and during our stay, it became increasingly busy until 7:00 PM. I recommend making a reservation, especially in good weather or on weekends. The food was excellent; we had two of the baked gyros, the stuffed chicken with feta and spinach, and a chicken breast fillet. We think the place, especially because of its location, is one of the best in the area. We will definitely be back. :)

It's pretty here, and if you like sitting outside by the water and eating in the summer, this is the place to be. If you arrive early, you won't have to wait. Or call ahead and make a reservation.

The restaurant is well located and offers plenty of space. We arrived around 1 p.m., and the terrace was relatively well-occupied. There seemed to be enough staff, but service was sparse, and the employees seemed stressed. It took a while to bring our drinks. The rhubarb spritzer (labeled 0.25 l) came in a 0.2 l bottle. To order the food, we had to practically flag down the waitress. The food (although nicely presented) was then carelessly slammed onto the table by another waiter. The gyro salad was generous, and the price of €15.90 was entirely justified. The chicken salad, on the other hand, was almost "meager" in comparison and was served without Gouda cheese (which was actually listed on the menu). This was pointed out afterwards, both when the plates were being cleared and when paying, and was met with a shrug both times. The hefty price of €16.90 hasn't changed, as expected. The food tasted very good, but unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired.

The place is beautiful! The cake is highly recommended! Friendly service and well organized despite the full tables.

The food is unfortunately not as tasty as it used to be. I'm disappointed because the quality continues to decline with each visit. The only real plus point is the restaurant's excellent location. In my opinion, this is also the main reason for the high customer traffic. The salads are supposed to be fresh and prepared to order, but it's clearly evident that they were cut some time ago. A little oil and oregano on top makes them more visually appealing, but doesn't change their freshness. The portion sizes are too small for the prices charged - the quantities have been reduced while the prices have increased. I would still recommend a visit, if only for the beautiful location. However, the quality of the service and food is something everyone should judge for themselves.

First of all: I've tried many Greek restaurants. A lot of them. The wheat is separated from the chaff when it comes to gyros. Now to Notre's. The place is actually quite cool. Not modern, but somehow cozy. The staff is friendly but only partially attentive. Long wait times. The portion sizes are okay. But if you really want to eat good gyro meat, this is the wrong place. The meat may be crispy, but it's super fatty and wobbly. I've rarely experienced anything like it. It was almost like belly bacon. So I didn't like it at all. I had a grill plate. The rest was okay. The fries are good. With two adults and four children, we paid a good €145. For that, we didn't even get an ouzo in the end. I think the place mainly thrives on its lakeside location. But try it for yourself. Experienced gyro experts will see what I mean.

Beautifully located directly on Lake Harik, it's a great place to sit outside and enjoy the lake. Parking is available. The food is delicious, but it can take a while to arrive, but it's definitely worth the wait.

Very tasty and a lovely atmosphere! The chef is incredibly friendly and was very accommodating to our clients with disabilities, offering smaller (and cheaper) portions so our guests could finish their meals properly and not have too much left over. He also treated our clients with great kindness. Inclusion is a living example. :-)

We were guests for many years but what we received from the service yesterday was really the last. We were simply asking why you now have to pay money for parking when you visit a restaurant as a guest. Well, we accepted it but still noted it, but after the waiter threatened to clarify the matter at the door, something like that really isn't possible as a host and a nice terrace by the lake doesn't bring balance anymore. We will not recommend this restaurant to all of our friends in the future. It's a shame years ago it was really one of the greatest Greeks we knew plus the service staff was extremely friendly.

Wir hatten einen Tisch bestellt, trotzdem war der Tisch nicht vorbereitet. Nach einer halben Stunde wurden wir gefragt, was wir trinken möchten. Die Vorspeise dauerte nochmals eine halbe Stunde. Später wurde das Essen gebracht, bevor die Vorspeise abgeräumt war. Wir waren im Restaurant und konnten uns wegen der lauten Musik nicht einmal unterhalten. Auf Nachfrage war es auch nicht möglich die Lautstärke zu dämpfen. Das Essen war ganz und gar nicht gut. Schade ...aber nicht empfehlenswert. Das Restaurant ist für diese Qualität absolut überteuert.

Absolute recommendation! We were there for mom's birthday and it was just perfect - 15/10! The food was delicious, the ambience right on the lake was fantastic and the service was extremely friendly. You immediately felt comfortable. To top it all off, there was a huge dessert platter - it really couldn't be better! Thanks to the whole team for this unforgettable evening!

A beautiful place in nature, but this is somewhat marred by the food. Salad with the meal (small side salad) is not included, so fries with Suvlaki and Tzatziki were a bit dry. The dessert “Hot Love”, vanilla ice cream with hot cherries, was carelessly decorated with spray cream and the Cherries presented themselves as cocktail cherries, so everything was just sweet. I would like to see more effort put into the kitchen, as a full restaurant still indicates that there must be a level of popularity.
