We had a quiet day and friendly staff who were really working hard to serve the customers. The food was good and definitely worth the money. Not a standout, but just tasty. Nice place to sit outside on the square. Not seated inside. Small point: the Jäger sauce could have been a little more flavorful and filling. So otherwise fine.

We tourists (from SB) like to eat there. But the workload of the waitresses is inhumane. The food was quite good and varied with fair prices. We would be happy to pay a little more if it would relieve some of the workload on the staff. 10/24/24 It was nice to see that there was no rush and two very nice and confident ladies served us. We had ordered 2 daily specials here for which we had to wait 30 to 40 minutes and what came was canteen food - schnitzel and fries in the fruetese and the salad - dressing on it and that was it.

The Schaffhausen of Trier gastronomy. Those who employ managed staff also have a little more revenue in the evening. In the space of an hour and almost three tables were occupied, the waitress managed to take the order once and bring the order to the second round, Since after 30 minutes of dispensing the drinks there was still no staff in sight, we had to call and pay. The billing of the table was then carried out using mathematical mental arithmetic tasks - semi-professionally - instead of using a calculation. Put 6!

Delicious, fully-fed meal for the day for under €10 - where else can you find something like that? Locals and tourists, young, old and middle-aged (like us ;-)) ) guests alike. There are sunny and shady places to choose from in the beer garden; and when it rains, comfort in several semi-open rooms in the historic vaulted building. Large selection of cheap drinks; Cocktail of the day for only €5.80!! First destination for our next trip to Trier.

Good food at very reasonable prices! The restaurant is very nice and rustic and you can sit very relaxed in the outdoor area. The lush space was particularly welcome for us as a family of five with two dogs. We will be happy to come back more often.

We ate - and drank - our fill at New Mintons during the girls' trip from the Westerwald to Trier. Nice and attentive waiters. Price/performance ratio great! Tip: Daily meal (until 5 p.m.) for €7.00 to €10.50.

I always enjoyed going there. Staff always friendly, fast service, always great daily specials. But then I was very disappointed. I waited over an hour for food with a friend and the guests at the next table also complained. We then got up and left without waiting for the food. What is very annoying is that cars are constantly driving up and down there. Particularly bad in the evening. You can't talk about a cozy evening anymore. You sit outside and the cars are constantly driving up and down between the tables. This bothers many guests. That's why I haven't visited the restaurant for a long time. Expensive prices, but the quality of the food is not adequate

Even though we ate outside, it was a nice experience. This was my first time having chicken schnitzel but it was good. The cream sauce was great. They were pretty busy, but the service was still good.

Friendly service who do their best to serve the tip. We ate curry sausage with an extra salad. Wasn't impressed. Not hot and pre-cut. Lots of sauce. Do not take the spicy curry sausage, only the sauce is a bit more seasoned. Coffee was fine. As mentioned staff were friendly and helpful.

Since I was a student in Trier, we have been going to New Mintons for dinner every now and then. The reasons were simple: it tasted very good, the service was very friendly and the price was reasonable. Unfortunately, on my last visit I was really disappointed for the first time. The prices are still reasonable, but the service was in the top 5 worst I have ever experienced. We were there with children who were also hungry. But apart from drinks there was nothing. We contacted the waitress several times to finally be able to order food, but this request was always ignored. One waitress even left with a shake of her head. Other guests weren't exactly thrilled either and went straight to the innkeeper to order something or finally be able to pay. Ok, there was a lot going on, but it was far from confusing. At least I was able to at least pay for my drinks after the third time of asking. Since I've always been happy there and don't hold grudges, I'll give the restaurant another chance after a while. I hope that this review gives reason to speak to the employees. As a waitress, you shouldn't take your frustration out on the guests. If there are delays in operations, it would be better to communicate this to guests rather than reacting with blatant ignorance.

The best cocktails are here. My tip: deep sea divers. Yes, you have to wait a while. But there is always something to observe here and the waiting times are not a problem for us at all. The waitresses give it their all and are just whizzing around. We always enjoy coming back and are happy to pay in cash.

Terrible customer service. First started out that I got a drink and the waitress would be back to take my order. An hour later I had to ask another waiter to take my order. Food took long but that I understood. I finished and they took my plate but no receipt. I asked again another waiter and it's been over 30 min and still no receipt. Their waitresses and waiters need to be trained better since they only come by when you first order your drinks, after that good luck on getting your order in and receipt in a decent amount of time

After 50 minutes we finally got the food. The neighbors gave up after 1 hour and canceled the order. I haven't eaten so badly in a long time, it was just terrible. You can only pay the bill in cash, you only find out at the end. You won't get an invoice anyway.

I was at New Mintons for the first time today and ordered the nachos. They were very, very tasty, the cheese was in strings when you took one. The waiters are very nice, not like in other restaurants.

The operator has far too many tables open for the number of waitresses. This means you have extremely long waiting times and extremely stressed employees, which depresses the atmosphere. The biggest point of criticism is that they only accept cash payments. No information is given in advance and you are forced to withdraw cash from the nearest ATM for high fees.

Friendly service staff. The various theme days offer great offers which are really recommended. Otherwise you can only be happy about the good price-performance ratio. There is a parking garage in the immediate vicinity, making it very relaxing to reach this place.

I'm not a fan of bad stars and criticism, so I'm still giving it three stars because the 2 wheat ones were okay and I'll give more stars if it gets better. But out of the 5 times I was there, 4 times it was semi and today it wasn't good at all. Would have liked to have addressed this but the people outside seem to have enough to do already. Please change fryers. And I've waited forever, really forever, for the cordon bleu since I sat down. And then it was really that bad. Cordon bleu was just fine, fries simply tasted disgustingly like old fat. So I could have done the number in 10 minutes for 8 euros. Sorry for the review. Disastrous service - not recommended! Our visit to this restaurant was a complete disappointment. There were three of us and we waited over 1 hour and 30 minutes for our food without anything being served. This is simply not acceptable! The restaurant wasn't even particularly busy, so there's no excuse for such an extremely long wait. We had to ask the staff several times when our food would finally arrive and were only met with unfriendly and evasive answers. After 90 minutes of waiting and no sign that our food was coming soon, we had enough and left. Our evening was ruined. I've never experienced anything like this before and it clearly shows how little value the restaurant places on its guests. We will definitely never come back and advise everyone not to visit this restaurant. There are many other places that offer better service and don't treat their guests so badly.

This is our first time in Trier and we immediately found a local restaurant 😊 You wait a while for your food, but the super friendly service and the wonderful ambience more than make up for it.

We were there with 5 people. Ketchup and mayo were included with the order. When the food came, however, ketchup and mayo were missing. Two different operators pointed this out again. Salt and pepper were also ordered. Nothing came... We then went to get salt and pepper ourselves. Mayo came when the food was already cold. The young lady as the waitress was very, very unfriendly! However, the young man with a foreign accent was very friendly. He immediately complied with our request to pack up the rest. The prices are positive. However, it would still have been nice if the food hadn't tasted like nothing. Unfortunately, the steak wasn't fried as ordered either. The ambience outside was quite nice. In conclusion, unfortunately quite disappointed.

Went to dinner at New Mintons again spontaneously today. As usual, it was very tasty and in a large, filling portion. Even if there is sometimes a bit of a wait, you are always rewarded with good food. We are always satisfied and appreciate the good cuisine as well as the weekly specials. Today we had salsa bacon burgers, hot pepper pizza and cream schnitzel.

Top service, some staff members speak French. They are all very friendly. Taken classic for drinks and very reasonable for the meal.

This restaurant is an insult to Trier city center! Reception and service couldn't be surpassed in terms of unfriendliness. You can wait half an hour to three quarters of an hour until you can order the next drink (not to mention get it). If you want to meet there with a group of friends and the first two are already there, then the rest of the group has 5 minutes to show up, otherwise the first two will be thrown out. If new drinks actually come once every two hours, the empty glasses are not cleared away, so the table can get a little full. The closing time is also announced very rudely and you are shown out the door by 12:30 at the latest. Card payment is of course not possible, since we only live in the 21st century, that is of course not stated beforehand. Ate Jägerschnitzel and chicken schnitzel from the lunch menu here. Before that there was a starter soup which was very tasty. The price at 9.50 per dish was very cheap (I also looked at the normal menu and the price is cheap there too) and the quality was good, even the mushrooms in the sauce were fresh and not canned, as you unfortunately often get. The service was very friendly and polite. Will definitely come here again if I am in Trier.
