I stayed here overnight. The people were friendly, but the room was very small.

Great staff who were happy to help us, cozy restaurant downstairs, and nice rooms. The only downside was the bathroom, which had no shower guard, causing water to splash all over the floor.

OK place to sleep in Trier. You should explore for something better. The shower in the bathroom can not be hanged higher than my head, so one has to use one hand continuously for this. The bed pillows were too soft for me. They demanded payment in advance on our booking.com, which is a red flag. The restaurant served us a very big portion of roasted meets, which was nice, but I can tell for sure these were roasted not immediately we ordered them, but probably hours in advance. Edit: for some strange reason this review was flagged as a violation of Google policies. I don't see any such violation. The review is not entirely positive and explicitly mentions why.

I don't recommend the food. Musty, it seemed like cheap frozen food. I don't need to go to a restaurant for that. The fries were okay. The rice wasn't good either. I wouldn't recommend coming back.

I can't say anything about the rooms, and the service in the restaurant was mediocre to poor. Officially, the restaurant was open until 11:30 p.m., at least that's what it said at the entrance. At 10:20 p.m., we were pressured to leave, so we had to finish our drinks in a hurry. We're still here for a few more days, but we definitely won't be going back to this restaurant.

The host was humorous and very service-oriented, and the food was also very good. The location on the busy street isn't ideal outside, but we still felt comfortable.

We didn't book the hotel, so no review. We only ate there today. The fries weren't fresh today and had a white crust. They were also overcooked, dry, and hard. Unfortunately, there was no apology when we asked about the quality of the fries. My wife ordered Camembert. It looked good. Unfortunately, the inside wasn't even lukewarm. Unfortunately, we can't recommend eating there!!!!

We can't rate the rooms; we were only there for dinner ☺️ That's what I call incredibly delicious food. Huge portions. We could have eaten twice. The atmosphere was so nice and friendly. We'll definitely be coming back more often. Thank you. The atmosphere is really cozy.

Nice place and people. However we tried their cevapcici and there were waaay too much salt in it. Portions are big but there are only meatballs, fries and tiny bit rice next to it. No salad or balancing side dish next too it. I have eaten much better balkan dishes.

Went there for dinner with 3 people 2 months ago. Never had such a bad meal, to be honest! Portions small, only lukewarm, little taste. The waitress didn't ask, as usual, whether we liked it... I don't know why!!!

Seldom eaten so badly. The 2 people had a meat platter. The meat tasted musty when warmed up, simply inedible. The landlord reacted poorly to the complaint and didn't try the meat. Sorry, but the quality was below that of ready-made meatballs. An absolute failure!

Grill plate for two, visually very pretty, that's it. Tough meat, musty smelling meatball. The whole thing is almost inedible. Then an unfriendly reaction to our statement. Zero stars, never again.

We ate there as a couple and had the gourmet platter for two. It was delicious, prepared quickly, and plenty for two people. The meat, fries, and Djuvec rice were very, very tasty. It's located on a main road but has a few parking spaces next to the building.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and the staff was kind. However, I wasn’t completely satisfied with the food. We tried a dish with lamb and one with beef, and while the oven potatoes were good, the rest didn’t quite meet my expectations.

In September 2024 we booked a room at the Hotel Restaurant Balkan. When we were shown these we were shocked. Cupboards were dusty on the inside, curtains were dirty and in the bathroom there were bare power cables hanging out over the mirror cabinet, so the socket there couldn't be used, and the faucet was totally loose. The lighting in the bathroom was so dark that you almost needed a flashlight. Furthermore, there were no smoke detectors in the room. After we wanted to set the time to have breakfast, we were told that it wasn't possible before 9 a.m. due to a lack of staff, so we had to look for breakfast somewhere else. There was also no outdoor terrace as shown on the website. The food in the restaurant was overpriced and manageable. Some of the meat was fried to death and the schnitzel was frozen, and there was no salad bar (which you had to pay extra for). What you could say that the boss was very friendly was the only positive thing. We can say that we cannot recommend this hotel more highly.

The boss is very friendly. The service is top and the breakfast was very tasty. The rooms are getting old. I found the beds to be very comfortable. Unbeatable price.

I booked a double room for a weekend with arrival on Friday... The hotel was closed, no one could be reached by phone...that's NOT possible!!!! not to RECOMMEND ...

Quantity instead of class. Meat dry and hard. Lots of fries...hardly any rice. Wine prices completely overpriced.

The restaurant's dining room is beautifully designed. Unfortunately, we cannot really confirm the friendliness of the host described in some reviews. Either we've had a bad day or we understand kindness differently. We would have liked to drink more, but after the food was served, no one came to the table to take a drink order. During the meal, no one asked if anything was missing or if everything was good (because the children's "robber plates" were actually missing). The meal (grilled beef liver with Djuvec rice) my wife and I tasted good, but it was a fairly small portion (especially for the price), so at least I wasn't full. She also enjoyed our daughter-in-law's meal (Wiener-style schnitzel with fries) and the portion size was sufficient. He didn't like our son's meal (Cevapcicci with Djuve rice and fries). The cevapcicci were fried or warmed up. The consistency was bone dry and 3 out of 5 Cevapcicci came back. For us it was a snapshot of the first and only dinner in this restaurant. We can therefore neither recommend the restaurant nor advise against it. In any case, we won't eat in this restaurant again.

Ristorante a pochi metri dall'hotel, inizialmente scelto per la comodità si è invece rivelata una buona soluzione per variare un po' i sapori del nostro tour in Germania. Carne molto buona e cotta bene. Prezzi nella media tedesca, forse anche un po' più bassi. Servizio veloce

The food was very good. The service is first class - fast and friendly. Extra requests were taken into account. Parking on site, but if you want to eat outside the street is a bit noisy.

Very nice host, clean, friendly, food very tasty. Sitting outside on the terrace in the sunshine, then the rain came. Nevertheless, other guests who came later stayed dry and the food was brought outside with an umbrella so that it didn't get wet and the waiter also stayed dry. Reacted well 👍👍🤭. When I ate there it was really terrible. You just couldn't eat it. The fries were unsalted and the meat couldn't be chewed or even cut.

Unfortunately the meat was fried to death. It's a shame about the meat, a leaf of lettuce and a ball of radishes as a side dish....paid so much for that.....

Has a good card. Service is friendly and has an open ear for the guest. Parking right in front of the door. A parking space to charge the vehicle while staying in the restaurant, we were completely satisfied.

We were in this restaurant today. I've never eaten so badly 3 out of 4 meals ordered were returned The gentleman I assume was the owner then got angry when we said that the meat didn't taste good Then he took the fork and picked at my son's plate and then cleared the table angrily. Then I asked for the bill, which was almost a hundred euros We were all disappointed and hungry Nothing happened except expenses

Awful experience not recommended at all. Low quality all round. Totally overpriced too. Drinks had no ice/lemon, no garnish on meals, rude owner/waiter who blamed our tastebuds instead of giving an apology lol shame as the place looks quite nice from the outside. Swindler of the parliament! Avoid this hotel. They accused us of things that did not exist, as if we had damaged the mattress.

Restaurant not recommended!! We were 4 people, each of whom ordered something different for food. For Balkan cuisine, the food was very tasteless and seasonless. The Djuvec rice was not warm/hot, just room temperature. The meat was missing any spices, and sometimes even the side dishes as described on the menu, such as onions. An additional 1 euro was charged if you ordered the Djuvec rice instead of the fries. The dishes/dishes are also very overpriced in terms of quantity. Only our 12 year old son was full. So we treated ourselves to a dessert - we had Cup Denmark twice, once there were 4 scoops of ice cream in the bowl - the other only had two. When the service person spoke to her, she just shrugged her shoulders and left. It's been a long time since we had such a bad meal for such a high bill at the end. Very disappointing

Sehr gemütlich und freundliches Personal Essen war mega lecker 😋

Ohne zu reservieren kurzfristig einen Platz bekommen, was uns sehr gefreut hat. Das Essen war ok, das Preis Leistungsverhältnis hat für meine Begriffe nicht ganz gepasst. Ein Hacksteak gefûllt mit ein bisschen Käse (Feta?!?) und ein paar Pommes fûr 17,80 fand ich ûberteuert. Das Fleisch der Grillplatte meines Mannes war leider totgebraten und viel zu trocken. Ein bisschen Aivar oder ähnliches wäre schön gewesen....das Salatbuffet ist sehr lieblos gestaltet und das Schüsselchen für den zusätzlichen Preis auch sehr Mini.....

Essen war gut, Service war zum kotzen Haben kein Besteck bekommen, keine Servietten . Auf Nachfrage nach Soße kam der gestresste Eindruck der Bedienung. Also man kann sagen, wir wurden als Kunde nicht vollgenommen oder kaum beachtet Wir wollten dann die Rechnung, wurde uns auf den Tisch geknallt , kann dieses Lokal absolut nicht empfehlen, werden da nicht mehr essen gehen Ich bin einfach nur sprachlos!!!

Vi overnattede på hotel Holiday in Express og den første aften skulle være nemt, det fortrød vi lidt bag efter, maden kunne spises men absolut ingen kulinarisk oplevelse, lokalet var koldt og der ved ikke særligt hyggeligt, vi fortrak os umiddelbart efter spisning til mere behagelige lokaler på holiday in Express.

Das Essen war sehr Lecker,Servis ist super nett.

Waren hier essen und bin als Kroate enttäuscht Das Gemüsegratin schmeckte wie aus ner fertig Packung oben drauf drei Esslöffel Soße und Käse darunter steht das Gemüse noch im Kochwasser. Mein Spezial Grillteller das Fleisch war gut gewürzt und gebraten aber es schaute mich ein verschrumpeltes Radieschen und ein kleiner Ring Zwiebel an. Das bin ich anders gewohnt es fehlt der Balkan typische Ajvar und ein wenig mehr Zwiebeln. Das geht auf jeden Fall besser.

Mussten leider 1 Std 15 Minuten auf das Essen warten, Kellnerin hatte die Bestellung vergessen, auf den Entschuldigungsschnaps musste ich die Kellnerin auch noch selber ansprechen, rechnen konnte sie auch nicht, schlampige Erscheinung.

Also wir sind jetzt hier das vierte mal nur zum Essen, und ich kann wirklich nur sagen es war sehr konstant jedes Mal super lecker. Das Fleisch war echt heiß und lecker gebraten und auch die Pommes echt knusprig und heiß. Danke dafür 👍👍👍

The price was bit high. Room should have good lights, should provide kettle with tea n coffee as it is really a standard thing to put in a room. Check out should be by 11am. Toiletries should be provided.

The owner was very rude. He was speaking to my friend with arrogance, and he got him out of the house with absolute rudeness and impolite way, although he was only waiting for me to put my bags up in my room.

Getränke waren nach 10 Minuten am Tisch. Das Essen kam trotz Vorbestellung erst nach 1,5 Stunden. Hatte Leber vom Grill und war in Ordnung. Auch die Abrechnung war negativ. Tippfehler ??? Können das lokal nicht empfehlen.

Im Vergleich zu früher Qualität ist ok, Preise wie überall leider zu hoch. Salat war vorher im Preis, kostet jetzt 3.50 extra , kein Salat Büfett mehr und viel kleiner. Service sehr gut und freundlich. Die ganze Welt entwickelt sich negativ, leider!!!!

Sehr nette Bedienung und sehe netter Wirt, was bei 4 Jungen die nur Blödsinn im Kopf haben nicht einfach ist. Essen war Lecker, die Platte für 4 Personen etwas wenig, aber das kann ja auch an uns liegen ;) Ansonsten alles TOP :) Komme gerne wieder.

Wir haben spontan dort angehalten und ein Zimmer gebucht. Der Besitzer sehr nett, das Zimmer sauber und die Betten bequem. Abends haben wir dort in der Gaststätte gegessen war sehr lecker. Von dem Hotel ist alles sehr gut zur fuss erreichbar. Alles in einem und für ein kurztripp zu empfehlen.

Wir waren dort essen,weil wir nebenan in einem Hotel waren und nicht weit gehen wollten. Preise waren in Ordnung,Essen kam zügig, hatte Schweinefilet mit Champions Gemüse und Kartoffeln, hätte freundlicher hergerichtet sein können Gemüse war tk und sehr laff Kroketten zu dunkel,Fleisch Champions und Soße war ok. Salat vom Buffet war auch ok. Allgemein zu kleine Portionen. Service war freundlich. Ein kleine französische Bulldogge läuft da rum und kommt dich manchmal besuchen(womit wir kein Problem hatten) :)

Heerlijk gegeten met een vriendelijke bediening

Food was definitely five star so good!

Wir waren vorher schon zweimal hier und haben gut essen können. Diesmal jedoch war der Besuch ziemlich enttäuschend. Die Vorspeisen kamen zügig und meine Gulaschsuppe war auch wirklich gut und reichhaltig. Meine Frau und unser ältester Sohn wollten sich eine Vorspeise teilen, aber es kam nur eine Teller an. Okay, kann man machen. Ich war mit der Suppe noch nicht fertig, da kamen schon die Hauptgerichte. Sowas darf nicht passieren! Die Hauptgerichte waren nicht schlecht, aber auf keinen Fall herausragend. Vor allem waren die Portionen sehr klein (mein Sohn meinte „armselig“), vor allem wenn man den Preis bedenkt. Wir haben eine Portion Fritten nachbestellt, aber auch die war eher klein geraten. Positiv zu bemerken: Bei Sonderwünschen bei der Bestellung war man sehr entgegenkommend. Der Kaffee am Ende war aber wieder gut. Es gab auch leckere andere Getränkt, auch jenseits der Speisekarte (z.B. Johannisbeerschorle). Fazit: Schon deutlich bessere Balkanrestaurants erlebt.

Bewertung für das Hotelzimmer den sehr niedrigen Preis eingerechnet wären 3,5 Sterne. Das Restaurant jedoch bietet einen super aufmerksamen und freundlichen Service, die Speisen (Zwiebelsuppen und Grillplatten) schmeckten und sättigten.

Das hotel, kann man verbessern. Aber ist nicht ganz schlecht.

Essen war soweit in Ordnung, nur die Salattheke könnte besser sein, Chef war sehr freundlich da kann man nichts sagen. Aber wie gesagt auf die frische in der Theke achten.

War nicht ganz so wie wir es uns vorgestellt haben. Preis für Tomatensauce mit Nudeln für die Kinder, war für diese Portion zu teuer, über 9 Euro. Schlimm war,daß die Kinder das Essen später bekamen als die Eltern.
