Stratos Schlabbergass in Trier

The blob of tzarziki sauce was floating in the gravy of the shawarma strips. (Meat was diced.) This could have been put in a separate bowl. The waiter walked outside at least 20 times during our meal to text on his phone. Inside, it looks nice, but the food is completely unremarkable.

Good, traditional German cuisine. Reasonably priced for Trier.

We (four people) took a day trip to Trier. After a long shopping spree, we were quite hungry and went to this restaurant shortly after 3 pm. The menu was extensive, and everything seemed to be available. We ordered four different dishes (see photos), which were served almost simultaneously. We enjoyed everything very much. Of course, it's not Michelin-starred cuisine, but we knew that from the start, especially given the prices (less than €15 for a cordon bleu). It's possible that some of the ingredients were pre-made, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. The server was very friendly, attentive, and quick. I'd also like to add that no one has been so pleased with a tip in a long time. We will definitely eat here again on our next trip to Trier.

The roast pork was oversalted, the cook seems to be in love... The "gyros" aren't gyros at all, but rather dry, fried cubes of meat; not recommended.

I visited about a month and a half ago, during my business trip to Luxembourg. I stopped by Trier and came here — that time I ordered schnitzel and a salad. To be honest, the experience wasn’t great. The male staff member (he seemed to be Greek) was extremely rude, which really ruined my mood. When I ordered the schnitzel, he asked something at the end — I think it was whether I wanted it breaded or not. I didn’t catch what he said at first, and he let out this huge sigh, looking annoyed, then just went ahead and brought it however he wanted. The food itself wasn’t good either — honestly, not even as good as a cheap pork cutlet. So, I don’t have a pleasant memory of Trier because of this place. I don’t think I’ll ever visit the city again, but I really hope they learn to treat customers with more respect. I also noticed that several other reviews mention poor service from the waiters—it seems like it's not just me. I went there about a month and a half ago. I went there on a business trip to Luxembourg and was visiting Trier. I had schnitzel and salad. The atmosphere in this restaurant is very cozy, and the service is friendly and fast. The prices are very attractive. Mayonnaise and ketchup are extra. The food disappointed us. The gyros was truly inedible.

3 different dishes, very poor quality...and then on the way to the toilet, a direct look into the kitchen: the salads were being put on the plates without gloves...horrible! Once, and never again!!!!

For less than 16 euros, a Jägerschnitzel with fries and a starter salad was simply delicious. Sure, it could be better. But for the price, it was plentiful and hot. Fast and friendly service. If you need more mushrooms in the sauce or a perfectly souflé schnitzel, you'll have to spend more than 25 euros here in the city center. More than acceptable.

We had reserved a table for 8 p.m., but still had to wait for a seat. The people also waiting for a table were standing in a small space – it was very loud. We ordered quickly, but then waited a very long time for our food. All of our salads (4 people) had sand in them – probably not washed well or even at all. The smoked salmon with the potato rösti was probably from a package (like from Kaufland or Aldi) and tasted absolutely nothing. The potatoes with the fish also tasted like half-baked goods from a bag. The gypsy schnitzel was probably frozen and simply reheated. The tables were very close together, so you could hear all the other guests' conversations – there was no privacy. The atmosphere was anything but relaxing: loud, cramped, and too many people for such a small space. We paid an average of €28–30 for a meal with a drink – definitely too expensive. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

Rustic atmosphere, beer and food tasted good.

The shop looks nice, which won us over. Unfortunately, the food was a total disappointment. I ordered a bruschetta, and I find ten euros for a cheap pre-baked roll more than outrageous. And who bakes it, too? Cafeteria-level fare with no desire for a nice presentation. A shame. I went home really sad and hungry. :( The waiter was quite nice. :)

The food was of snack-bar quality but restaurant prices. Frozen goods were poorly presented. Young servers were trying hard but are open to criticism from guests. Inflation or not, €0.70 for a bag of ketchup isn't bad at all.

Guests who only wanted a drink were skillfully ignored. After the waiter walked past us several times, served other tables, and returned to the restaurant, we left our table. At the restaurant next door, we not only received attention but also our drinks within minutes.

Look despite being a tad bit on the expensive side, this place is really cool! Food and service are at optimal levels, the place itself has its charm.

We ate well, were served promptly despite it being lunchtime, and the staff were very friendly and courteous. We were very satisfied.

The beef goulash was delicious and homemade, but the cordon bleu looked and tasted like a ready-made product. It's sad when a restaurant isn't capable of making its own cordon bleu.

You can also go out to eat here, but that's all you have to do.

We ate here today, and the food and drinks were disappointing. The deep-fried schnitzel and fried potatoes were also greasy. Everything was just greasy. Not recommended. Whether the Dornfelder wine or Pinot Noir tastes equally grand and crisp, and that's for the price. The service, however, was very nice and friendly. Despite the beautiful setting, we can't recommend it to anyone.

Very nice location in the pedestrian zone, the food was unfortunately disappointing, fried chicken from the deep fryer and very salty, Greek salad for €13.80, 4 olives, 6 cubes of feta and the salad had collapsed as if it had been dressed for a while. For a drink yes, for food unfortunately not.

Decent food with decent price! Ordered pork loin steak and mushroom wiener schnitzel with beer. Good stuff. Both the steak and schnitzel were slightly over-cooked and the mushroom sauce was on a sweeter side than what we were used to. The good- the food was still good overall nonetheless and really enjoyed with some beer drinking. The price was fair as well. The dishes came with a side salad and tasty french fries. All excellent!

Friendly staff and the place is nice. However, the food was a little dry. I ordered the Chicken wings expecting that there would be some sauce, but alas it was a little hard to eat — even if the chicken was nicely cooked and well seasoned. The prices are pretty good though.

Went here for lunch today. We are not tourists. Cordonbleu from the deep fryer and the fried potatoes you paid for extra were floating in the oil. They were just warmed in the pan. No trace of tan. Dressing for the salad from a bucket, definitely never made myself, but that was the best. The service was a lady and she was very friendly and nice Then we'd rather go, like we often do, early until late

Hatte mich auf Sauerbraten gefreut, Freude hielt nicht lange an. Das Fleisch zäh wie Leder, der Rotkohl sah aus wie dreimal aufgewärmt Soße hatte gar keinen Geschmack. Einfach eine Zumutung dem Gast gegenüber, habe es gleich zurück zurück gehen lassen waren mal eben knapp 20 € in den Sand gesetzt!!! Getränke: alkoholfreies Weizen um 12.30H schon ausverkauft.

We originally wanted to go to the restaurant opposite. Unfortunately not possible without a reservation. That’s how we ended up in this super quaint restaurant. The service was very accommodating and polite. Food was delicious and according to our expectations. Salad dressing also delicious. Price/performance accordingly. We'd love to come back.

We were seated at a table in the middle of the path. The chairs were brought in from outside. Every guest who had to walk past us either bumped into my husband or me. We asked for another table and were seated at a table in a quiet corner with a rude comment. The waiter put the food on the table with the sentence: "Hopefully it's at least the right time." We really have a very dry sense of humor. But I just found that cheeky. Unfortunately, the food didn't compensate us for the service. It was frozen goods, the champions from a can and the sauce from a bag. So the shop can really only survive through tourists.

Wir waren während des Trierer Weihnachtsmarktes hier und hatten schon vorab (2 stunden vorher) einen Tisch reserviert. Als wir um 18 h im Restaurant ankamen dachte ich vor uns wäre eine Bus- Reisegruppe angekommen. Der sehr hyperaktive und laute Kellner versuchte die Leute irgendwie im Lokal unterzubringen. Es war eine Lautstärke und ein Gewusel zwischen den Tischen der Gäste die schon am Essen waren. Man konnte auch an den Blicken der Gäste sehen dass dies für alle sehr unangenehm war. Als wir dann an einem Tisch platziert waren, ging es ununterbrochen so weiter. Die Eingangstür Stand permanent offen ( bei 2Grad Außentemperatur). Es war unglaublich laut und hektisch. Der hyperaktive Kellner war nur am rennen und war unglaublich laut.Dann wurden Tische gerückt und Stühle von anderen Tischen weggenommen um noch mehr Leute ins Lokal zu quetschen. Das Essen war mäßig…. Ich denke Fertigware. Nie wieder!!!!

Unfortunately, Gordon bleu was frozen goods. The side salad was nothing either. Very few lettuce leaves with standard dressing, nothing else. The gyro plate wasn't really gyros, just diced pork, but no gyro seasoning. It was very disappointing, unfortunately I can't recommend it.

Singles not welcome. Wanted to eat there as an individual last week. Was asked at the entrance if I had reserved. When I said no, I was told there was no more space available. Before I left the inn, there was a couple behind me with the same request for a place. When asked about a reservation, which was also answered in the negative, they said they would come with me and I would show them the table. Hospitality is different...

Went here for dinner last night. Staff friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. I had a chicken schnitzel, frozen, with fries and salad. I also ordered a pepper sauce, which unfortunately tasted sour and I couldn't eat it. Unfortunately nothing came after I pointed it out. I

You can get pretty much everything you need here to spend a nice and cozy evening. Prices are in the normal range.

We have been regular customers for decades and drive almost 100 km to eat there, we always dragged family and friends there because we were so satisfied. Since a massive change in personnel (we haven't seen the boss in ages), the slack has gotten steadily worse. Today the worst case scenario happened. My husband had a full tray of drinks poured on him. He was really wet from head to toe except for his underwear. We then asked to put our food back and only prepare it fresh when we got back. Our children stayed at the table and my husband and I had to go to Galeria Kaufhof to redress it. I had to write consciously because he couldn't walk through half of Trier wet when the outside temperature was just under 10 degrees or less. We had to re-clothe him for 250 euros. Then we went back to the restaurant and were told by the daughters that the starters had already been brought and sent back despite my request. We were served these lukewarm and with dried bread. The Schlabbergass noodles were noticeably worse in quality, there was nothing wrong with our gyros. There was a hair in the tzatziki, very unappetizing. We then asked for the bill after we had finished our meal. We didn't get any compensation, not even a free drink. Instead, we paid 60 euros more for the same dishes and drinks as usual. The drinks and food have become terribly expensive. And last but not least: the floor was sticky: I know why if the guests spill their drink. Conclusion: We had complete understanding for the over-nervous service, were deeply relaxed and accepted everything as it was (accidents happen), but the fact that the person in charge that evening was not even in a position to provide minimal compensation was not for us understandable. Bye Stratos! You won't see us or our friends and family again. Very unfortunate

Food could be a little better. Carelessly done. Service makes a lot of effort.

Following order: First course: Spit roast with the usual side dishes. Second dish vegetarian: Grilled pepperoni and the aubergines/zucchinis. But instead of the eggplants/zucchinis, some grilled cheese was delivered that was wrapped quite amateurishly in aluminum foil. Normally no problem. However, the spit roast wasn't quite cooked through in the middle and was therefore tough and inedible. When it was cleared away, a complaint was made because half of the food was returned. Unfortunately, the waiter and his boss (didn't come to us) reacted very unprofessionally. We don't want anything for free, we always pay for our things. We are also familiar with braising and roasting and know when connective tissue/collagen melts and how to get such meat tender. Trying to play us for fools here wasn't particularly wise. ps. The waiters shouldn't necessarily argue in front of the guests because one of them "hit on" a customer who is probably the other's flame.

Leider eine herbe Enttäuschung in der Schlabbergass. Der Abend begann mit einem Missgeschick, als der Kellner meinem Vater Bier übergoss. Nach etwa 5 Minuten hat man ihm dann auch einen neuen Stuhl hingestellt. Die Getränkebestellungen liefen chaotisch ab – der Kellner konnte sich kaum merken, was wir wollten, und musste mehrfach nachfragen. Das Essen war schlichtweg katastrophal: Auf dem Brot lag ein Haar, das Fleisch war trocken und eindeutig tiefgekühlt. Der sogenannte ‘griechische’ Salat war total versalzen und erinnerte kein bisschen an das Original. Bei Preisen, die weit über dem gerechtfertigten Niveau liegen, hätten wir wirklich mehr erwartet. Als wir dem Kellner auf seine Nachfrage hin sagten, dass es uns nicht geschmeckt hat, lachte er nur und nahm unsere Kritik nicht ernst. Definitiv keine Empfehlung! Als echter Trierer auf gar keinen Fall empfehlenswert. Einmal und nie wieder!

Our visit to Schlabbergass was a disappointing experience. The schnitzel was very reminiscent of a frozen product, which was also noticeable in the taste, as it was rather bland and had hardly any seasoning. The presentation of the food was simple, which in itself wasn't the main problem, but here too a little more attention to detail certainly wouldn't have hurt. The “Greek salad” hardly corresponded to the original, which is of course a matter of taste, but overall it seemed carelessly put together and not very authentic. The meat was dry and the tzatziki was obviously not homemade, but probably a ready-made product. The restaurant itself exudes a certain comical charm, although the furnishings overall seem a bit outdated. At least the tables were clean. The service was okay, but hectic and nervous. Communication was difficult because the staff didn't really listen to us, which didn't make the visit any more pleasant. In the end, we had the feeling that our criticism was not taken seriously, but rather laughed at - which was disappointing. In addition, the price-performance ratio was not right for us. We found the prices to be too high for the quality and taste of the food. Unfortunately, expectations were not met in any way, which further clouded the overall impression. Overall, we cannot recommend the restaurant after our visit and would not go there again. This does not appear to be an isolated case, as similar experiences have also been reported by other guests.

Unfortunately a bitter disappointment in the Schlabbergass. The evening began with a mishap when the waiter poured beer on my father. After about 5 minutes a new chair was put in front of him. The drink orders were chaotic - the waiter could hardly remember what we wanted and had to ask several times. The food was simply catastrophic: there was a hair on the bread, the meat was dry and clearly frozen. The so-called 'Greek' salad was totally oversalted and didn't resemble the original at all. At prices that are far above the justified level, we really would have expected more. When we asked the waiter that we didn't like it, he just laughed and didn't take our criticism seriously. Definitely not a recommendation! Definitely not recommended as a real Trier native. Once and never again!

At the moment we walked in, the friendly staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were attentive and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The food was good, with a great variety of dishes to choose from. The menu has something for everyone. The atmosphere warm warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy design that makes it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family.

We visited Trier as part of river cruise tour and stopped for lunch . Very welcoming and attentive staff. I had pork schnitzel and a dark beer and my wife had a skewer of beef. Food arrived promptly and was hot. Many locals came here for lunch on Reunification Day. Food and drinks were quite good and total bill@€35.

A small rustic place. If you can sit by the window, it's also comfortable. A very attentive waiter, very nice, but left the dried flowers on the small table. The toilet smells miserably of urine and is in desperate need of renovation. Toilet paper and a functioning hand dryer would also be nice. The food is underground. Ready meals at a horrendous price. An absolute no-go for me!!!! I just say tourist scam!!! If the thing goes bankrupt, no one has to complain! Your own fault. Best location and simply terrible food. I am absolutely disappointed and can definitely not recommend this location!!!! Best example of carelessly slapped down food for tourists who won't come back anyway. The only bright spot was the funny, competent waiter. He can't help the cheap and expensive frozen food.

Stopped here after a stroll through the city. We ordered Jägerschnitzel twice with fries and a side salad. The schnitzels were simply poor in terms of taste and quality. Breading had an artificial, orange color, meat was dry and nothing other than frozen goods. The sauce was a tasteless broth. When the waiter asked us if it tasted good, we said no and also said that it tasted like ready-made products. He contradicted us and said that the schnitzels would be bought fresh every day and everything would be freshly prepared...... Yes klaaar..... They also want to play you for a fool...... So definitely not coming here again👎👎👎

Very tasty lunch, we had the chanterelles with tagliatelle in a cream sauce and the chanterelles with sliced ​​meat and spaetzle. It was really tasty and completely sufficient in quantity.
