Despite the distance, we drive there once or twice a week to Essen. Whether you're eating alone or in a large group, there's plenty of space, and they even frequently celebrate birthdays there. Nice restaurant and lots of delicious food

It's very tasty, but not the highlight my colleague made it out to be. In my opinion, it's not worth the 45-minute drive. It's on the pricier side. Two drinks, a rice dish with veal, and dessert cost €45.

The food was good, the staff friendly, but it was too crowded; you could hardly have a conversation.

So, our visit was on Saturday around 6:30 PM. 4 adults Conclusion: A long blonde hair was literally tangled in the rice. The waiters smelled strongly of sweat, but seriously!! We complained to the tall, bald man, but he showed absolutely no interest (the crowning glory of the day). A catastrophe! I've never experienced anything like it, I'm serious! We didn't order anything else, just the Adana platter, the Tavuk platter, and two Beyti, all still almost 80% full! So now we're at the checkout. The man with the gray hair, about 45 years old, explained the whole situation, and he was even worse than the other waiter—he couldn't listen at all! ... No way! I work at a huge car dealership near Essen, selling VW, Audi, etc. Everyone knows it. I'm going to tell every customer and colleague from Essen and the surrounding area this story! With all due respect, I've never experienced anything like this!

On our last visit, we definitively decided it's a place we'll never go to again!!! The service and taste are terrible for the price. You have to wait in line every time. The meat was very tough, undercooked, the appetizers started to smell bad, and the salads were inedible. Menu 720, called Aldinta, had very little of everything: one spoonful of eggplant, one spoonful each of two types of rice, and three pieces of meat for €35??? We managed to fill our stomachs with lahmacun and pizza. My wife ordered ribs, all burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. The drinks are 0.2l and cost €3.50; even the glasses that come with them aren't enough to fill them! My other daughter ordered meatballs and Pommes, and I think it would be much better if they offered a baby menu instead of a children's menu. They might forget they're a restaurant soon... The food was satisfactory. However, the initial interaction with the usher was extremely rude. We had a reservation for about 20 people. When I asked for our table, he simply pointed in the direction. When I mentioned that I would get the other guests, he made dismissive hand gestures, turned around, and began shouting. In a private setting, I would have reacted differently. However, since we were an engagement party with family and children, I handled the situation calmly. There are numerous good restaurants, so despite the acceptable food, this one is definitely not recommended.

I'm reviewing the breakfast buffet, which was truly outrageous and meager for the price. There was neither water nor coffee. When we asked, we were told the coffee machine was broken. Water had to be ordered separately and—just like coffee—paid for separately. The fruit selection was limited, and forget about dessert: no cakes, no baklava. First, the youngest child's food arrived, followed by the other children's and ours (parents' meals). (Many places don't pay attention to this, and parents can't eat comfortably, but the timing was perfect this time. The children didn't have to ask where their food was, or the parents could eat comfortably while the youngest child was busy with their meal.) 4. The waiters are very polite and friendly. Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. The food was of poor quality: one dish was still bloody/pink inside and clearly undercooked. Another dish arrived cold and very hard. We complained to the server. The food was taken away, supposedly to show the chefs – but then it simply disappeared 🤣. No solution was offered, and the dish wasn't removed from the bill. This is especially frustrating since we drove 70 km specifically for this restaurant. A real shame; we had much higher expectations.

Visit this evening around 6:30–7:00 p.m. We entered the restaurant this evening and were greeted by an older waiter with black hair. We were immediately shown three tables and told to choose between them right away. Even at this early stage, I found the service very pushy, even though we only wanted to take a quick look around the dining room, as we were specifically looking for a quieter corner. These three tables were practically forced upon us. After we sat down, it turned out that we were sitting in a very noisy corner with screaming children – exactly what we wanted to avoid. Since there were many other free tables in the restaurant (including tables for two by a wooden partition in the middle of the place), my wife politely called the waiter over and asked to be moved, explaining that it was too noisy for us there. The waiter's response was extremely unprofessional and essentially said: "It's a restaurant, you'll have to live with it." Instead of accommodating our request, we were simply offered a table on the opposite side of the room – without any discernible improvement to the situation. All other available tables were categorically ruled out, without any comprehensible explanation. The tone and overall demeanor, especially towards my wife, were disrespectful and lacked customer focus. We felt ignored and genuinely offended. For this reason, we decided to get up and leave the restaurant. Anyone who values ​​friendly service and the consideration of legitimate customer requests (such as a quiet seat) should be wary. Unfortunately, our impression was that customer satisfaction is not a priority here.

If you value good service and a pleasant experience, you should probably avoid this restaurant. The only good thing was the Dana Bonfilet. It was really delicious! My colleagues had a mixed grill, but the lamb smelled and tasted like steel. The rest of the food wasn't good either. The service was extremely rushed and stressful. The waiter said that fresh bread would be coming with our appetizer, but of course, it wasn't fresh. It was obvious that it had simply been thrown in the oven. We pointed this out, and he apologized and brought us stale bread. He also apologized, saying that a colleague had made a mistake and that it was difficult to find decent staff. The waiter who cleared the table at the end didn't even greet us or ask if we had finished eating. He simply took it for granted that he had to clear everything. In the end, we were presented with a bill without them asking if everything was alright. Apparently, they don't value criticism and improvement.

We’ve been coming to this restaurant almost every two weeks for about a year. At first, the food was excellent, but over time we noticed the quality dropped and the portions got smaller. Still, the meat is good quality, and the balloon bread is delicious. However, the rice was very oily and had a strange taste ,I couldn’t eat it at all, even though I usually like Turkish rice. On the positive side, they offer unlimited tea after the meal.

I didn't even know where to begin. We were here on November 28, 2025, and celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday with 14 people. I can only say: It was simply fantastic. Anyone planning a birthday party should definitely choose this place! The manager and the entire service team were incredibly friendly and attentive. The waiter who brought us the cake made the atmosphere even better and made us feel right at home. We also received special attention because we're from Azerbaijan, which really touched us. Our next big celebrations will definitely be held here again. This is already the second time we've come all the way from Bielefeld to Essen. Thank you so much for everything! I went there with two colleagues and ordered a set menu for four people for €150. Unfortunately, the menu contained more fries and rice than meat – quite disappointing, to be honest. And there was no baklava or çay included for free. As for drinks, they are very expensive. A 0.2-liter Coke costs a whopping €3 or €3.50, I can't remember exactly. We definitely won't be going back.

The breakfast buffet for €16.50 is affordable. Besides some cheese and cold cuts, other dishes are offered. My criticism is that I would have liked jam, honey, butter, or other classic breakfast items, not in pre-packaged portions. You also have to find your own plates and bread baskets. Overall, there's nothing particularly special about the breakfast selection that would make it worth going there.

A complete disappointment. We ordered a mixed grill and a chicken platter – the portions are ridiculously small compared to how they used to be. The fries were cold, and the salad smelled downright rancid. No one should be served that. When I pointed it out to the owner, there was absolutely no reaction. No interest, no apology, nothing – simply ignored. And this despite the fact that I used to be a regular customer and even ate there with my company. We visited Gökhan Can in Essen and unfortunately had a rather hectic experience. The atmosphere was more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. Salads were placed in front of us as soon as we arrived, before all the other guests had even settled in, and only a few minutes passed between the appetizer and the main course. Our appetizer and main course were practically taken away from us while we were still sitting down. The service seemed geared towards quantity and speed, and even the clearing of dishes was rather inattentive. Overall, the food tasted okay, but the atmosphere and service were disappointing. I'm not sure if you'd go here for a delicious meal. We ordered the Adana-style shish kebab with minced chicken, but it wasn't made with minced meat as we expected; instead, thin chicken pieces were wrapped around a skewer, making it quite dry. Our second order was the Adana kebab with yogurt. However, as in many places, the kebab was cut into small pieces to make it look larger on the plate, thus losing its flavor. This kind of presentation shouldn't be tolerated at such high prices. But even years later, the atmosphere, the restaurant-like atmosphere, and the atmosphere here could still be a good choice for a good time and a meal with a loved one. The place is quite comfortable, and the staff is attentive. I should also mention that tea is served to your table, even if you don't order it.

There were eight of us at the N.V.Z.D Göhkan Can Restaurant. I had the mixed grill, my girlfriend the pide with cheese and spinach – both were delicious and we were well-filled. To finish off, I ordered katmer with maraş ice cream and tea – a great way to end our meal. Particularly convenient: There's plenty of parking in the back courtyard 🅿️. The staff were consistently friendly. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant!

I discovered Nevizade through a recommendation from business clients and was absolutely thrilled 🤩 I even returned the next day... Huge restaurant, busy (even in the evenings). Excellent and fast service; very, very polite 🥰 The food completely exceeded our expectations. I recommend anyone who comes to this area to visit Nevizade and eat here. By the way... The desserts are delicious and made fresh daily.
