Price performance ratio is okay. A kebab costs a little more money, but it was of very good quality. We ordered the vegan version and it was one of the best we've ever eaten.

Unfortunately my regular snack bar, Greek, in Rellinghausen was closed, so I made an exception for more than twelve years and bought kebab. 15 € for a kebab plate that is 1 million km away from the kebab that I know from the seventies and eighties, everything is chopped up and very, very airy. Which means little mass was great and the mayonnaise was not given in separate bowls on the plate so you save a total of fries once and never again and no more kebabs in the future. Cevapi and gyros taste 100,000 times better.

Everything was very good, regardless of whether it was the service, the atmosphere or the food itself. The staff was extremely friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was beautifully prepared and tasted very good. The portions were absolutely reasonable for the price. I have found my favorite Döna.

We waited more than one hour... For a kebab... It was expensive, there was no fries with the kebab, additional fries were 4,50 euros, they refused to give us free water and the water was... 7 euros !! After one hour they came to told us that one of the meal we ordered was out of stock. So, after all, we asked for a little discount, regarding the service conditions and they refused. Bad experience, totally unprofessional.

The food is good quality, but the organizational problems outweigh the problems. As a group of 7, we waited over 50 minutes for food. The order was only prepared when we asked, so it's obvious that we were forgotten. The last dish came after an hour and 10 minutes. Meanwhile we were able to watch all the other tables being served. When paying, the cashier was unable to use the EC Cash device to give the customer a copy of the receipt. In summary, the food was quite good, but the mood afterwards was in the basement.

DÖNA is our favorite doner kebab restaurant in Essen! Here you get top quality kebab meat and a nice ambience. Plus the Döna of the month, such as the WiesnDöna now at Oktoberfest. DÖNA is not a run-of-the-mill kebab shop, but here you get something really good for your money. My favorite is the Cilli Milli plate, as you can see in the photo.

I recently visited DÖNA, but unfortunately my visit didn't quite meet my expectations. The food arrived cold and unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the taste. I also felt the price was a bit too high in relation to the quality. Another problem was that the waiter didn't know exactly what types of meat he was offering, which caused confusion. What was particularly disappointing was the rude treatment at the end of the visit, when my “bye” wasn’t even politely returned. However, I would like to highlight the location positively - the store is beautifully designed, warm and visually very appealing. Unfortunately, overall it seemed more like “more appearance than reality”. There is definitely potential, especially if the service and quality of the food improve.

Today we ordered a big final meal for our course before the vacation. I had a Döna salad. Plus a lemon olive oil dressing. It was really incredibly delicious. The ratio of meat to salad was perfect and the dressing wasn't too overpowering. My colleagues also rave about the Döna. (I love this pun) It's a little more expensive, yes. but very very good!

The vegan kebab tastes good, but the "meat" is not very well seasoned/marinated. But this is made up for by the delicious sauces, the crispy bread and the fresh salad. Prices are rather high (döner kebab €8.90 or more and small fries with ketchup over €5).

From start to finish, the experience was deeply disappointing and concerning. Firstly, the rice that accompanied our meal was severely overcooked, to the point of being almost inedible. However, the real issue was the chicken. It had a very old and nasty taste, which immediately raised red flags. Despite our initial visitis, we gave it a chance, but it was a decision we soon regretted. Shortly after leaving the restaurant, both my wife and I began experiencing severe stomach pain. Within a few hours, we were both vomiting. It was a horrible experience and made us seriously question the food safety practices at this establishment. Given this experience, I cannot recommend Döna to anyone. Food quality and safety are paramount, and this place failed miserably on both counts. Save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere.

I was kicked out of this shop for no reason... I've eaten here a few times before, but something like this happened to me for the first time yesterday, May 20th, 2024... I spoke to the owner a few months ago about bulgur (rice) that was too tasty. He was nice and made me a new one and bought me a drink. And today he came in again, greeted me immediately and pointed out that a sink wall in the toilet had been demolished, for which he then thanked me and left the store until then everything was fine. But I never experienced what happened after that in my life. So... 15 minutes later the cellar lady comes and wants to collect without me asking her then another employee came and said boss said I should go now. I had been sitting for a long time, I explained to him why because I wanted to go to training straight away anyway and why does the boss say It's not personal to me, but he was here talking to me a few minutes ago...unintelligible... Where does it say how long you can stay in the restaurant, I didn't know there was a limit, if so you have to explain it in writing. I then paid my money and left the store disappointed and very sad because I couldn't understand the boss's reasoning... something like that doesn't work at all... I will not be entering this store again and I will not recommend it to anyone 🤦‍♂️🤨😔 The ambience is deceptive! Conclusion… Not recommended ! Are really disappointed! Never again.

Really cheeky to charge 14 euros for a kebab plate with 10 fries and some salad/meat! You get more for your money at other stores! I can therefore only recommend going somewhere else.

I ordered something to take away. The shop has a very nice atmosphere. The kebab is extremely tasty. With really fresh vegetables, the likes of which I've never had in a kebab and quite a lot. The meat is super juicy and has enough sauce until the end. Despite the long transport, the fries were still very tasty and perfect. ! Any time.

I really like the store and so does my wife. We like to eat the Pommegrante here, a kebab either classic or as Yufka with pomegranate and other delicacies. Price is completely ok because the quality is right here. I will gladly come again ;)

I've been to the store several times but have always been disappointed. The service is really poor - despite the empty shop, my group and I were served very late and the drinks and kebabs took ages to arrive. Now for the kebab: The quality is clearly not an issue here First and foremost, what you should actually expect given the high prices. It seems like you just want to make the kebab look nice. The meat is really below average and the vegetables are average. The ingredients are so poorly distributed that you actually only end up with salad in your mouth and in the end only bread and meat soaked in oil. Really no recommendation. Never again!

Today we were at Döna Essen on Rüttenscheiderstr. The restaurant is very nicely done, I have to say, but only one person was sitting empty. Me and my wife's food was cold!! Salad tomatoes were wobbly and not fresh (it had been in the fridge for a long time)! My wife ordered chicken kebab with bulgur (rice) the rice was not fresh and smelled (old)!! I asked her about it and was told that everything is made fresh every day!! Unfortunately this wasn't the case! We didn't continue eating, it was inedible!! every normal kebab shop is better!! Believe me And the two gentlemen behind the counter were unfriendly! Paid 29 euros for the inedible 2 plates without drinks!! and left. The ambience is deceptive! Conclusion… Not recommended ! Are really disappointed! Never again.

Preise gehen klar, Fleisch ist gut, Brot ist gut. Ich hatte den "Pomegranate", Döner ohne klassische Knoblauchsauce, dafür mit Granatapfelkernen und passender Sauce ist Mal was anderes. Ich denke, es wird demnächst über andere Varianten nachberichtet. Nachbericht Geschmacklich immer noch gut.Die Preise haben aber mehr als Markrüblich angezogen. Die Portion für 9.50 ist schon seeehr klein. PreisLeistung passt nicht mehr

Mir war Tage lang unwohl nach dem ich dort gegessen habe . Das Personal war sehr unfreundlich und grob . Fazit nicht zu empfehlen.

Ich habe den Laden bei vorbei gehen entdeckt, und er ist mir direkt positiv aufgefallen, also habe ich mir mal ein veganen döna bestellt und zwar den Veganuary, der döna war perfekt und auch ziemlich groß, ich habe auch bei anderen leuten mitbekommen das sie sehr überrascht über die größe ihrer Portion waren, also alles zusammen mit dem netten Service und der schönen Ambiente vergebe ich 5 Sterne und kann den Laden nur weiterempfehlen

Haben für eine Salat Tasche 9,50€ bezahlt. Preis leistung stimmt leider überhaupt nicht. Bei nachfrage wegen dem überteuerten Preis der Salat Tasche wurde uns leider nur unverschämt mitgeteilt das der Preis bei „Döna“ normal wäre. Die Produkte mit Dönerfleisch waren leider genau so kalt wie die Salat Tasche und ungenießbar.

Tolle Döner-Kreationen und sehr leckeren hausgemachten Ayran. Mal was anderes. Service und Ambiente ist wirklich gut. Klare Empfehlung.

Der Service versteht einen kaum und kennt die eigene Produktpalette nicht. Preis/Leistung stimmt überhaupt nicht, die Qualität fehlt an allen Ecken und Kanten. Immerhin ist der Laden sehr schön eingerichtet, Abzüge gibt es weil man im Durchzug sitzt und anschließend komplett nach Frittenbude riecht.

Wir waren dort aufgrund der super Bewertungen. Sah auch alles top aus. Wir hatten beide Mercimek. Kam, obwohl es nur aus einer Plastikbox im Topf aufgewärmt und mit Zitrone verfeinert wurde, erst nach einer halben Stunde. Schmeckte aber gut. Unsere bestellten Dönerteller dauerten dann nochmal eine Dreiviertestunde. Mmm. Zwischendrin meinte man den Fleischschneider nicht in der Küche, sondern direkt bei den Spießen schleifen zu müssen. 1. Hygiene? Beim schleifen fliege Metallspäne mal gerne durchvdie Gegend, 2. Sound für die Gäste sehr unangenehm. Naja das Fleisch auf meinem Teller war dann auch leider kalt. Nicht so toll bei dem Preis. Alles war sehr schön angerichtet, aber halt leider kalt. Auf meinen Hinweis an die Bedienung -die wirklichbsehr freundlich war, aber auchalles nachfragen musste -, hieß es nur:"Ach das tut mir leid." ENDE. Kein Preiserlass, nix. Schade, ich glaube, es könnte wirklich gut sein. Aber wenn der Service, die Temperaturen, die Wartezeiten (länger als in einem Sternerestaurant für mehrere Gänge) und die Hygiene nicht stimmen, dann kann es nicht funktionieren. Es wurde immer wieder gewischt. Also an sich ist Hygiene da wohl schon wichtig.

Wirklich sehr lecker. Gutes Hühnchen Fleisch. Viele gute Salate hlgabbes zur Auswahl. Leider ist die Soße oben und Salat auch. Nach ca 5min aufessen, war nur noch Fleisch und Brot übrig. Mein Tipp: Soße in das Brot! Salat verteilen. Bessere Aufteilung. Im Laden sieht es auch sehr Chick aus. Der Preis aber ist heftig!! 9€ für ein Döner. Wow. Naja. War sein Geld wert.

Sehr gemütlich, Service war super freundlich und meiner Meinung nach bis jetzt der beste Döner den ich gegessen habe!

Hier bekommt man einen sehr guten Döner oder Yufka. Beim Essen wird einem klar das die Zutaten frisch sind. Der Ort in dem der Dönerladen ist, hat das feeling von einem richtigen Restaurant. Zudem gibt es hier einen einwandfreien Service.

Dönerfleisch war extrem fettig, geschmacklos, die Pommes ebenso von fett durchtränkt und ohne ein einziges Salzkorn. Da gibt es auf der Rüttenscheider Straße bessere Alternativen

Hatte eine döner Tasche. Das Brot super knusprig und trotzdem fluffig, der Salat super frisch und lecker, das döner Fleisch super saftig und mega geschmackvoll. Die sauce hat es noch abgerundet. TATSÄCHLICH: in meinen 40 Jahren der die Geschmackvollste Dönertasche die ich jemals gegessen habe!!!

Der Laden wirbt ja ausdrücklich mit "Döna goes vegan". Schon zweimal hatte ich dann Feta über dem Essen. Unglaublich!

Mega Laden sehr gemütlich und zuvorkommende Bedienung!!!! Sehr kreative Döner 🥙 Auswahl. Schön das sich Gedanken gemacht wurde um sich von anderen Läden abzuheben. Es gibt verschiedene Dönertaschen. Habe mich für DinkelDönaChiliMili entschieden der absolut lecker war. Preisleistung absolut top kann man nicht anders sagen. Werde gerne beim nächsten Besuch in Essen wieder vorbei schauen.

Leider habe ich über 30 Minuten auf meinen Döner zum mitnehmen gewartet. Dieser wurde mir dann kalt gegeben. Das vegane Alternativprodukt war sehr zäh und nicht lecker. Der Döner an sich war geschmacklich unterdurchschnittlich und auch nicht dem Preis entsprechend. Außerdem wurde Salat ungewaschen direkt aus der Packung in die Ablage geschüttet.

Mittlerweile haben wir uns durch die Karte probiert und können sagen, dass uns alles hier wirklich gut schmeckt. Die Döner des Monats sind meistens Jahreszeiten-Abhängig und wirklich lecker. Die Zutaten sind super frisch. Auch der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und bringt das Essen schnell an den Tisch. Die Preise sind happig, aber meiner Meinung nach gerechtfertigt.

Ich war heute zum ersten Mal da und habe den Trüffeldöna probiert. Kann ich nur empfehlen, hat wirklich super geschmeckt. Alle waren sehr nett. Ich komme definitiv wieder.

Atmosphere: 5 Stars... because I ate at home. Service: 1 because my husband and I had to wait for the guy to finish making coffees, before calling his colleague to make the Döner. In that time another client had already made a comment about the meat looking more and more like charcoal. The taste wasn't balanced and the very dry and dark meat couldn't do much to save the whole experience.

45 Minuten warten auf ein Döner das ist für mich viel zu lang, vor allem es war nicht voll, und du siehst wie einige nach dir kamen, was zum Mitnehmen bestellt, und die sind weg mit ihre Bestellung und du wartest noch, einige Lieferservice kamen und was abgeholt und du wartest immer noch, das ist für mich No Go, da muss man was ändern, es ist nur ein Dönertasche, es heißt fast-food und nicht fast eine Stunde warten, sorry aber das war für mich toooo much.

Das erste Mal vor einem Monat hier gewesen. Der Döner top! Heute musste man das Fleisch mit der Lupe suchen, ich hätte genauso einen vegetarischen Döner ordern können, hatte fast ausschließlich Salat und überdimensionale Tomatenscheiben, darunter wenige versteckte Fleischstücke…

Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr unfreundlich und haben den Eindruck gemacht als hätten sie kein Bock. Statt uns zu bedienen war eine Person am Handy. Das Essen ließ ebenfalls zu wünschen übrig.
