More show than substance. It looks great. The topping was good, but the dough was soggy, ruining any pizza. Absolutely not crispy, neither on the outside nor underneath. Visually stunning, but that's where the positives end. A shame.

A very nice restaurant in a central location. The pizzas we had were really very good. I only missed having bread with garlic butter or bruschetta, which is usually served beforehand; at least, that's what I'm used to from other restaurants. The service was okay, but I expected more attentiveness. The price-performance ratio was definitely good. Overall, I can recommend it!

The staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. Unfortunately, the food was always... questionable in terms of enjoyment. The vegetables were always raw (so, for example, the eggplant was never tasty), and the pizza was very mediocre. I also tried other items from the menu, and they were equally unappetizing.

The bruschetta tasted good, but it was served on store-bought whole-grain bread (it was confirmed that it wasn't homemade). They offered to make it again, but since I declined, they refunded the bill. The pizzas were okay, but unfortunately not enough to warrant a return visit. A shame...

Excellent Neapolitan pizza with a light and airy crust and intense flavors. The dough is superb, the toppings high-quality and well-balanced. The antipasti also impressed with their freshness and quality. Pleasant atmosphere, modern menu, and attentive service. Overall, a coherent concept without any unnecessary frills. If you're looking for authentic Neapolitan pizza, this is the place to go. Reservations are recommended.

We were offered an alternative across the street, but there was no space available and we had to wait about an hour. That was it. I don't need this arrogance and poor organization. We used to be big fans of Nero. However, our last visit was quite disappointing. We were seated in the adjacent Nero wine bar. The door there was open the whole time, which was rather unpleasant given the 10°C outside temperature. Furthermore, the smoke from the waiters and guests outside drifted into the dining room. The chairs in the wine bar were extremely uncomfortable, the service wasn't very welcoming, and they rarely attended our table. They used to bring out bread for the whole table before the main course; it seems they've stopped doing that. The dishes are actually well-prepared, but everything – whether pizza or pasta – arrived cold. No one in our group ordered dessert because everyone just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. The restrooms were also appalling.

The Caesar salad was very poor, as expected given the price. The chicken was undercooked, the lettuce was bitter, and there was hardly any dressing. Charging that price for it is unjustified. However, the service was very friendly and the atmosphere pleasant.

I've been to this restaurant twice now – and both times I was absolutely disappointed. First visit: No vitello, no burrata – I initially thought it was a bad joke. So I ordered carbonara. The result: too little sauce, it looked nice and was okay, but the bacon was greasy and barely cooked. Inedible because you couldn't chew it. As an Italian, you should really be ashamed to serve something like that. Perhaps it's time to properly train the staff on how to prepare carbonara. Second visit (Recklinghausen leuchtet): A complete disaster. The blonde waitress with a ponytail was very unfriendly; she was only interested in rushing through everything. We ordered a wheat beer – but received a non-alcoholic one, even though we had explicitly said "not non-alcoholic." When we pointed this out, they said "only the glass is non-alcoholic" – when in fact the beer was non-alcoholic. Only after returning the glass did I get the correct beer, this time in a regular glass. The wine was okay, but then came the next problem: There were seven of us, five of whom ordered food, a total of four pizzas, so four dishes. Two pizzas arrived – the others only 30 minutes later! Incomprehensible, considering the oven only takes a maximum of five minutes to cook a pizza. Perhaps they should simply hire more staff. The table next to us, which ordered later, received their food earlier. Incidentally, the bread that all guests are supposed to receive beforehand never arrived for us. The Pizza Buffalina tasted good – but the Pizza Carbonara was a disaster: dry, hardly any sauce, simply unpleasant to eat. The service was impersonal and unfriendly – ​​no "have a nice evening," no friendliness, nothing. And yet everyone still left a tip. I myself worked in the restaurant industry for five years and am truly baffled as to how anyone could treat guests like that. Conclusion: Unfriendly service, disorganized kitchen, quality far below average. A real shame, because the restaurant has potential – but like this, it won't amount to anything in Recklinghausen. I'm completely done with this store.

Unfortunately, we had to wait 1.5 hours for our food, while watching tables that arrived after us get their food before us. We pointed this out to the staff twice, but they just waved us off. They didn't accommodate us at all. Another family had the same problem. We didn't really have any complaints about the location or the food. We had to flag down the waitress ourselves to order new drinks. Unfortunately, when the restaurant is full, it's more like an auditorium, and you can't even hear yourself.

I'm completely disappointed. It was my first time eating there, and for the price, I didn't get the right food or service. The pizza had way too few toppings. We then asked for aioli, and they brought us garlic oil. After that, we asked for herb butter, and they brought us plain butter with no seasoning at all. Just butter! The restrooms weren't clean either, which is what I'd expect from a restaurant like this. Oh well.

Finally, no more boring pizza. I've been looking for a restaurant in the area that serves really good pizza for a long time. I've been there once and ordered once via Lieferando. Both times, I've had nothing but positive things to say. The pizza tastes like Italy. The dough is aged for 72 hours, the cheese is Fior di Latte, and the tomatoes are San Marzano – at least according to the menu. But you'll immediately believe that when you see and taste the pizza. The dessert, consisting of pizza dough and Nutella with strawberries, is also world-class. Of course, you won't get a pizza here for €4 – you get what you pay for. The staff there are also really good and courteous. Unfortunately, my visit to the restaurant took a little longer because it was very busy. On the other hand, the delivery via Lieferando arrived a week later, just 31 minutes after ordering – and the whole thing was done with a really nice courier who wanted to refund me €2.50 because the asparagus ran out late that evening. By the way: They also have vegan mozzarella. And no, I couldn't tell the difference compared to the original.

A tiramisu was a courtesy at the end, which was OK. But here's the thing: the noise level is like an airport!!! Horrible. When I was in Sicily five years ago, I ate a pizza that blew me away. When a colleague told me there was a pizzeria in Recklinghausen that made a similar pizza, I absolutely had to order one. That means you order an adult portion for around €20 or you don't. This time the pasta dish was very bland and lacked any seasoning, and the pizza had too much dough. Went there for the first time with a friend, the pizza was lukewarm and the double ham we ordered wasn't there, the service was unfriendly. After asking for a new one, they just put the ham on top and briefly put it in the oven, advertising it as newly made!! Pizza was sparsely topped but actually quite tasty, unfortunately the pizza doesn't offer value for money. I can't recommend the dessert, affogato or whatever it was called. It was a small vanilla ice cream with an espresso for €6.90. I saw the waiter bring out the packaging for the ice cream, it was Aldi's own brand... The drink we ordered was very tasty! However, the barman first smelled the juices with his nose. Probably whether these are still good because the juices were open and uncooled in the corner of the counter. The ambience is chic, but the service doesn't make it worth a visit. Half of the employees are scrolling on Instagram/Tiktok.

Dafür ist es aber auch etwas Besonderes. Das beginnt mit dem Ambiente. Das "Nero" ist inmitten der Altstadt in einem Herrenhaus aus dem 18. Jahrhundert untergebracht. Der lichte Gastraum mit dem großen Pizzaofen im Zentrum verzichtet auf Italo-Kitsch und weist stattdessen zurückhaltende Eleganz mit etwas industrial chic auf. Es gibt ein paar Tische draußen und eine Dependance auf der anderen Seite der Gasse. Das Lokal ist extrem beliebt, so dass eine Online-Reservierung zu empfehlen ist. Es gibt hier die üblichen Antipasti. Wählt man gemischte Antipasti, erhält man wunderbares Carpaccio mit Rucola, brenzlig gegrilltes Gemüse, das NICHT in Öl gebadet ist, und Burrata sowie köstliches Pizzabrot. Eine Zweierportion hat uns zu viert gereicht. Der Star des Hauses ist die Pizza. Pizza kommt nun einmal aus Neapel, und sie machen sie hier auf neapolitanische Weise. Ein guter Pizzateig muss 24 Stunden gehen; im Nero geht er 72 Stunden. Da sieht man schon, welche Sorgfalt aufgewendet wird (die natürlich ihren Preis hat). Man kann Pizza ganz unterschiedlich zubereiten. Die römische alla taglio ist dünn und knusprig, damit man sie zusammenklappen und wie ein Sandwich aus der Hand essen kann. Die neapolitanische ist unter dem Belag zart und weich, aber scharf gebacken, und hat einen dicken, unglaublich fluffigen Rand, der absolut köstlich ist. In Neapel ist der Teig der Star und nicht der Belag! Gleichwohl bietet das "Nero" originelle Beläge an, beispielsweise Tiroler Speck mit Walnüssen, Honig und Gorgonzola. Pizza der gehobenen Klasse. Die Portion ist gut bemessen. Alternativ kann man auch Pasta essen, insbesondere hausgemachte Tagliatelle. Diese werden auf dem Teller schön präsentiert und ebenfalls in originellen Varianten angeboten, beispielsweise mit aromatischer Pistaziencreme, Granatapfelkernen und Burrata (statt Parmesan). Pasta einmal anders! Auf der Karte steht auch eine kleine Auswahl an Fleisch- und Fischgerichten, die wir aber nicht probiert haben. Die Getränkeauswahl ist nicht groß, enthält aber ebenfalls Schmankerl. Auf der Karte steht kein Limoncello Spritz, wurde aber auf Nachfrage gemacht. Sie bieten auch einen wunderbaren Espresso Martini an (den ich als flüssiges Dessert genossen habe). Es gibt zwei Biere vom Fass: italienisches Moretti und Radeberger. Es gibt ein paar Weine, die sämtlich aus Gebieten rund um den Gardasee stammen und alle auch glasweise angeboten werden. Der Service ist sensationell. Zwei unglaublich fixe junge Damen kümmerten sich um uns und erfüllten uns mit einem Lächeln jeden Wunsch, obwohl das Lokal rappelvoll war. Chapeau!

I ordered there via Lieferando. According to the app, delivery should take 45-50 minutes. After 100 minutes the delivery was still there! Called, but didn't get someone until the second call. Statement: The driver had an accident (can happen! The fact that the delivery is delayed as a result is ABSOLUTELY understandable!). But why can't you just call and let us know?! The number is stored with Lieferando... Food arrived ice cold after 2 hours! In the restaurant 0.0 insight and no apology. NEVER AGAIN!!!

The restaurant was busy on Saturday evening, so a reservation is definitely recommended. The service was friendly and professional. The ambience is chic and feels upscale, but still cozy - perfect for a date or a nice meal with friends and family. A year ago we also had pizza delivered. It was still very good, but the soil became a little soft and damp from transport. It is therefore worth eating on site and enjoying the beautiful ambience. 😊

We had dinner here for our birthday, Unfortunately, four out of five people were not convinced at all. I found the food underwhelming for the price. I have to say I found the service very inappropriate. There was a very young lady there who was dressed very sloppily and inappropriately for this restaurant. The service (you very young lady) is rather unskilled, which I find it a shame and I definitely expect that given the price. We didn't really like pizza, It's a shame because it really looked very promising. I was looking forward to the evening and especially to the restaurant. For me it's no longer an option but that's a matter of taste.

We found the bruschetta starter a bit disappointing. 2 slices of ciabatta with tomato and lots of rocket for 6.90, the parmesan was not available or was only available in homeopathic quantities. The pizza was very dry. Very meager for the price. In addition, we had booked at the Nero and were sent to the Vino. The toilets are absolutely horrible and disgusting. Also not lockable and clean. And the service always had to be made aware of how to serve! All in all, a terrible evening. NEVER AGAIN

Wir waren mit Freunden da und haben dementsprechend auch guten Unsatz gemacht. Leider ist das Essen ( Pizza / Nudeln) für den Preis unterirdisch. Pizza ist sehr gering belegt. Der Service kam nur nach Auffirderung. Und wir hatten im Restaurant gebucht und wurden in die Vino abgeschoben. Scheinbar keine Übersicht bei den Buchungen bzw. Reservierungen. Es gibt in Recklinghausen bessere Adressen

Nero has two completely different faces regarding on-site consumption & delivery. Our order of almost €90 arrived cold, so dinner with the invited guests was a complete failure. The catering company can no longer be reached by telephone at that time. The supplier/driver's excuse that "there is a lot to do" justifies this attitude not. How can one demand the expensive amount from the customer but not be able to fulfill the associated obligation. This is simply called a “rip-off”. Just leave the orders outside the home if you are not able to process them. Last time we weren't even delivered after a 2-hour wait, so the order amount was refunded without comment. Great customer policy that the Nero drives. An enrichment for Recklinghausen looks different.

Very nice place in Germany, well managed by young Neapolitans. Excellent pizzas.

Very tasty pizza. Overall very busy and loud. But that's probably personal feeling.🙃

We were a group of 12 people who had reserved. Somehow the reservation didn't arrive on site. It was taken care of immediately and we were shown to a large table in the wine bar opposite. Over the course of the evening we had very great service, despite 2-3 requests we had, everything went well. Despite the large number of people, the food came very quickly. My pizza was a good size... BUT... now I have to put the brakes on my euphoria a bit, some comments here describe this as the best pizza they've ever had, sorry guys but... no. It was completely ok, but I've had my pizza with ham and rocket tastier and better in my area. Which doesn't mean she's bad. Tastes are different. The only Ambiente star deduction comes from the toilet, which was broken and was not marked. But otherwise we would have a nice evening with you.

Die Einrichtung des Nero ist einladend, die Atmosphäre schön. In den Anfangszeiten des Nero war die Pizza toll: dünn und knusprig gebacken mit originellen Belägen. Gestern war der Wein zu warm, so dass wir ihn mit Eiswürfeln kühlen mussten. Und die Pizza war mit Ausnahme des Randes überhaupt nicht durchgebacken. Der Teig war wie roh und matschig. Frischen Knoblauch gab es auch nicht. Die Pizza können wir nicht empfehlen trotz des tollen Ofens. Man muss ihn auch bedienen können Da gibt es bessere Adressen in Recklinghausen.

The NERO is probably the best Italian restaurant in NRW. The ambience is first class and tasteful. The service was excellent. The food as you would expect from ITALY. This may come as a surprise to some people who know pizza 🍕 in particular, mainly from pizzerias that are mostly not run by Italians. However, especially when it comes to pizzas 🍕, NERO is absolutely top. Last but not least, the wine and spirits selection leaves nothing to be desired!

This restaurant offers a truly authentic Italian dining experience with delicious cuisine that hits all the right notes. The food and wine selection are undeniably impressive, and the staff deserves praise for their attentiveness and efficiency in service. However, the indoor temperature was a a bit of a drawback. While winter outside was biting, the interior felt too hot, making it somewhat uncomfortable after a while. I had to step outside a few times just to cool off, which was a bit of a nuisance but otherwise it was a very enjoyable meal. It was great and a good place to get cozy even if a little toasty. Despite this issue, I would still return for the outstanding food and excellent service. However, I’d strongly recommend the management adjust the indoor heating to ensure the comfort of all patrons. A great meal deserves an equally pleasant environment.

Pizza is definitely one of the best you can get in NRW. 1 star deducted because, in my opinion, the quality has deteriorated recently. Waiting times are no longer as long, but the pizza is often burnt and simply not what it used to be. There are usually no ingredients offered on the menu such as olives or similar.
