Neckarquelle in Villingen-Schwenningen

The food at Sudhaus is usually good. But the service was a disaster during my last visit a few days ago. I wanted to grab a bite to eat between two business meetings, so I was alone. When I sat down at the only free table in the restaurant, the waiter asked me rather rudely if I was alone. I immediately sensed that I wasn't welcome, as they would have preferred to give the table to a group rather than a single guest. The waiter then consistently ignored me, walking past my table at least five times and saying each time that he would be right there. As I said, I was there between business meetings and didn't have much time. Waiting at least 15 minutes to place an order is far too long for people who just want to grab a bite to eat during their short break. But the best part is yet to come: When the waiter finally took my order, quite reluctantly, he told me that they only had the small menu that was on the tables. I pointed out that there were various dishes listed on large boards outside the restaurant and asked why they weren't available if there were large signs outside. He then became even more unfriendly and said that it simply wasn't available today. I got up and went to another restaurant where I received friendly service. It's a shame; a little friendliness and courtesy towards guests is essential. Therefore, I unfortunately cannot comment on the food.

We found ourselves in this little country dive by pure chance; we had read about Calabrian cuisine. The food was mediocre. Unfortunately, there was a strong stench of cigarette smoke and alcohol from the staff and so much noise from the staff that it seemed like a bar where they talk about football. If you stop to look at famous waiters putting their hands everywhere from their hair to their lower body, I was very disappointed. The basics are missing, perhaps the owners are novices. They are people who don't accept reality. If you talk about their dive and some problems, they get angry and offend you, as happened to my partner. A place I don't recommend. 👎👎👎

Despite the high volume of customers, everything was excellent and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. The staff found us a table relatively quickly, and our food order was taken and brought promptly. There are absolutely no complaints; I can highly recommend that anyone shopping at Lutz also visit the restaurant on the top floor.

Delicious! The best roasts, roast beef, and sausages!

We enjoyed an excellent venison ragout with dumplings and red cabbage. For starters, we had a choice of chanterelle soup or lamb's lettuce. Everything was freshly made and delicious.
