Great, finally Saturday and Sunday lunchtime, great food and a fantastic wine list. Based on a recommendation, we made a reservation for Saturday lunchtime and immediately found some great classics. Because it was so good, we went back on Sunday. Great team in service and in the kitchen. We'd love to come back.

Maybe we caught them in a difficult day. Outside it says it is a café but once you get enter and you are asked if you want to dine or have a coffee, the quality of the service changes drastically. There’s also only a few tables that are foreseen as coffee tables. We had dined here before and everything was alright, but the service yesterday was very unfriendly since we only wanted coffee and cake. The place is pretty. The cake is edible but not worth it being ignored and poorly served.

The restaurant offers a pleasant ambiance and an impressive wine list, with a variety of excellent options to suit all tastes. However, the overall experience fell short of expectations when considering the value for money. While the food quality was decent, the pricing didn’t align with the experience provided. Additionally, the service, though polite, could benefit from improved efficiency. Waiting times between courses were noticeably longer than expected, which detracted from the overall enjoyment. For those who prioritize an extensive wine selection, this spot might be worth a visit. However, there’s room for improvement in service speed and overall value for the price.

After a visit to the Bavarian National Museum, we treated ourselves to a break in the Café & Restaurant Museum. The recommendation for a small snack for two was perfect. The best Italian ham, probably San Daniele, delicious olives, absolutely fresh, crispy white bread and also a darker, crispy breadstick, something nice to drink and very nice service. We felt very comfortable and will come back, sometimes in the evening. Thank you!

Just such a special place! Simply put: you almost feel like you are in your own living room...in the middle of Munich. Of course only more beautiful & delicious:) Beautifully & very uniquely furnished and all dishes are beautifully prepared. I really loved every course. From all the little details & attentions in between and the beautiful, cozy & delicious evening, which will remain in our very special memories.

Perfect cuisine, perfect, very pleasant service. An example: I canceled the amuse geule because I don't eat mayonnaise. After a few minutes, a variation spontaneously made by the kitchen came out, unsolicited. The prices for the food are high, but justified. The drinks are surprisingly moderate: a bottle of wine from Knipser costs 42 euros, so you can't complain.

Definitiv unser Lieblingsrestaurant. Gehen auf alle Wünsche ein (auch Allergien), sind sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und das Essen und die Weinempfehlung waren genial… wie immer :-)

Unser Münchner Lieblingsrestaurant - wir verbrachten hier schon viele schöne Feiern mit Familie und Freunden. Doch dieses Mal war es wirklich nicht zufriedenstellend. Beim Mittagsmenü zu einer Geburtstagsfeier baten wir um einen anderen Hauptgang als dem auf der Karte, da mein betagter Vater Probleme beim Kauen hat. Das wurde leider nicht möglich gemacht. Als dann der Hauptgang kam, waren wir wirklich alle enttäuscht. Das Stück Fleisch (Roastbeef) war derart fest und unessbar, dass wir es zurückgehen ließen. Auch die lieblosen Beilagen wie Pommes und Endiviensalat waren nichts Besonderes. Es wurde uns dann vom sehr arroganten Küchenchef eine Alternative angeboten: Wir haben uns für Saiblingsfilet und Gnocchi entschieden. Der Fisch auf Linsen war langweilig, die Gnocchi in Ordnung. Was uns gar nicht gefallen hat: Keine Entschuldigung. Oder ein kleines Dessert. Wir kommen so schnell nicht wieder. Service war bemüht. Wirklich schade!

Wir schätzen des Restaurant wegen des Ambientes, der sehr guten Küche und des äußerst zuvorkommenden Personals seit Jahren. Auch wenn bei unserem aktuellen Besuch die Erwartungen schon dementsprechend hoch waren wurden sie nochmals übertroffen. Es war ein spektakulär gutes Sechsgängemenü mit passender Weinbegleitung. Der Service war wieder auf höchstem Niveau. Rundum ei Hochgenuss.

We were in a larger group at the Café & Restaurant Museum. The 3-course menu was excellent and every plate was beautifully prepared. The ambience is elegant and the sound is distributed throughout the high rooms, making it easy to have a conversation. The parking spaces in the inner courtyard, which can be reached via Lerchenfeldstrasse, are very practical.

We ordered the 6 course menu. It was fantastic! So much flavor! The dishes were beautiful! I have nothing bad to say about this establishment!

Una ducha repentina me empapó justo cuando me acercaba al restaurante para un evento. El personal era increíble en ayudarme a secar y mantenerme bien regado y alimentado. El entrante de remolacha y burrata y la gallina de Guinea estaban deliciosos. Toby fue particularmente consciente durante todo el evento y se aseguró de que el agua y el vino se repusieran. Al día siguiente un amigo me sugirió ir al Museo Nacional de Baviera y almorzar en el café de allí. Después de disfrutar de una exposición me dirigí al café sugerido solo para darme cuenta de que era el mismo lugar al que había asistido la noche anterior. Toby estaba allí, y nos reímos de que al menos esta vez no estaba empapado. Y recordó que prefería agua con gas. El almuerzo de negocios es una gran elección de precio fijo. El entrante de ceviche de carpa y la ternera con hongos chanterelle son excelentes. Al final de la comida sonó la alarma de incendios del museo. “Todo lo que tenías que hacer era pedirme que me fuera,” bromeé con Toby. “¡No hay necesidad de gestos tan dramáticos!” En buena forma, Toby me proporcionó un vaso de taittinger de cortesía mientras esperábamos al departamento de bomberos. La lluvia decidió regresar durante nuestra espera, y Toby me ordenó un taxi. El personal aquí es un gran equipo. La comida es genial. El servicio es impecable Todo nuevo significado a “ser cuidado” y “vino y cenado”. Volveré

It's something special, a restaurant in a museum. A delicious wine list and various menus surprise the guest. A calm and pleasant atmosphere. Home-pickled olives and Augustiner from the barrel from the wine glass. What more could you want?

Kitchen is closed after 2pm. Opens at 6pm. We could not have lunch there

We went here for a snack in the afternoon. The service was fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating. The only criticism is that the kitchen is closed in the afternoon and then there was really only cake. Still a great location and highly recommended.

An excellent address for very good wines! Without the excellent advice we would not have been able to make a decision as there were many interesting wines on the menu. We are already looking forward to the next bottles!

Uma experiência e tanto. O local é maravilhoso e a equipe do restaurante é muito atenciosa. Pedimos o menu de 4 pratos, muito bom. Incialmente veio uma cesta de pães com patê de fígado. Depois um prato com salmão em pequena proporção. Posteriormente um atum também cru, muito temperado e gostoso. O outro prato foi uma sopa de tomate gelado com vieira. Para finalizar uma carne com legumes e purê de batata. De sobremesa marcarpone com gelato. Tudo ricamente decorado e saboroso. Não posso avaliar o valor, porque ganhamos o jantar de um membro familiar.

Exclusive restaurant. Menu staggered from 99 euros (4 courses) to 119 euros (6 courses). Dining a la carta is also possible. Very tastefull; small portions as usual in the category. There should be cheaper food at lunchtime; But I can't judge. Highly recommended; you should treat yourself.

A friend and I wanted to have something to eat and drink at the Cafe & Restaurant Museum today. When we arrived we were greeted very friendly and served quickly. After we got our drinks we quickly realized that we weren't being noticed. We were able to observe how other guests were often asked about their well-being and satisfaction. We, on the other hand, were not asked once if everything was OK or if we didn't want to order something, as is common in upscale restaurants. In addition, we didn't have a menu for a selection of cakes. Even after we had talked about how we were being ignored, which I don't think could be ignored, no one still came. So we sat and waited for almost 30 minutes until we were served. Since we weren't served, we decided that after one drink each we'd had enough of this cafe and would rather eat somewhere else. I was willing to pay very good money for good service and good food, but since we were ignored after we had our first (and last) drink, we changed our minds. When paying, the staff was a bit unfriendly because we didn't give a tip due to the lack of service. Here, visually wealthy people are more likely to be noticed, which simply shows that not everyone is welcome here. Although the aim here is to “pamper and delight a wide variety of guests”, as the owner described it.

We had a great evening at the museum. The menu was first class, everything was beautifully prepared and indescribably delicious. I liked the main course and the dessert best. There is a small deduction because our fishing trip was forgotten.

We chose this restaurant for lunch on our first day in Munich. Everything was good quality. The service was excellent. Wines and food are good and the prices are reasonable. Equally impressive are the pleasant surroundings and interesting furniture and lighting.

Look.. we have a restaurant in Italy, and we have the skills to enjoy a certain kind of service, food and location. This restaurant is a MUST TRY in Munchen. Everything is really good and enjoyable! We ask the waiter to choose the wine for us in a range of price . The wine was excellent, the service was perfect, the food was just WOW! Good job guys! Thank you for everything.

Very inviting and quiet courtyard of the Bavarian National Museum. We just had an Aperol Spritz in the café and sat down in the lounge chairs set up with good music. Very friendly, attentive service. The restaurant menu reads excellently.

Absolute recommendation! We have enjoyed going to the “Museum” for years, the food is excellent and the service is unique, pleasantly personal and highly trained. You feel incredibly comfortable here as a guest! The menus and à la carte dishes are seasonally adapted and the wine list offers some gems. It's always a pleasure to be there, both on the terrace in summer and in the restaurant.

It's really nice here. You sit comfortably and quietly and are served attentively by the waiters. Drinks were delicious and the cake at least looked delicious, but we didn't eat any :)

Someone here enjoys good food and drink - you can see that straight away. Shortly after the entrance there is a large Berkel cutting machine for ham and various empty bottles of excellent and legendary wines. That promises a lot - and the wine list also shows the sommelier's great joy. But I also had the feeling that the food could keep up well: the starters, especially the roast beef and the scallop, were very good, but a little unsurprising. There could have been a bit more spiciness. Handcrafted but well done. Combining goat cheese with falafel isn't something you see that often, but it was a very pleasing combination. We also ate our way through the menu of the main dishes: the duck breast was the absolute highlight: perfectly fried and ideally complemented by the tangerine confit and celery cream. That was fun. The risotto was also very good, a great balance between the chunkiness of the rice, a certain acidity and the truffle. Nicely balanced, no component was too dominant, but everyone was clearly visible. Unfortunately, we found the fish soup just okay-ish. Although high quality with Loop de Mer and saffron (among other things), the taste was too strongly driven by saffron - there was a bit of a lack of balance here. But please understand correctly: this is a very high level. Finally: espresso and desserts. The sorbets were not entirely convincing, the pumpkin mousse and the sweet potato (yes!) were both surprising and pleasing: a little unusual at first bite, but then a great experience.

The food was delicious! The service was a little off-putting though. They weren’t very helpful when asking for suggestions or help with the menu. Got the impression we ordered the wrong way. Everything tasted great, just an awkward atmosphere and it wasn’t super busy for a Friday night.

Unser Abendessen im Museum war wieder gleichermaßen Freude und Genuss. Wie schon öfter schätzen wir den kompetenten und aufmerksamen Service. Bei wechselnder Speisekarte bleiben Qualität und interessante Zusammenstellungen auf dem bekannt hohen Niveau.

Stilvolles, angenehmes Ambiente, umwerfende Weinkarte, exquisites Essen in zugegebenermaßen etwas zu übersichtlichen Portionen, und nicht zuletzt ein unvergleichlich freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service. Die Preise sind entsprechend, aber das sollte man sich ab und zu mal gönnen!

Wurde uns ans Herz gelegt von ganz engen Freunden.... Wir folgten der Empfehlung und waren positiv überrascht,vor allem über dieses wahnsinnig vielfältige Weinangebot. Eine Weinkarte wie ich Sie selten vorher in der Münchner Gastronomie gesehen habe Auch der freundliche - kompetente Servive und die Küche konnten überzeugen.Sehr schön angerichtete Teller und geschmacklich einwandfrei.Jedoch bleibt mir dieses edle Museumsrestaurant doch mehr weger dem Wein in Erinnerung.

Wir hatten Gelbebeetesuppe und Nudeln bestellt. Die Suppe war versalzen und die Nudeln bestanden zu 99% aus Pasta und Sahnesauce. Es sollten auch Pilzen und Spinat bei den Nudeln dabei sein, aber sie waren so gut wie gar nicht vorhanden. 25 Euro für Nudeln und Sahnesauce ist einfach nicht in Ordnung.

Wir waren am späten Abend nur für einen Drink dort und es hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Gerne werde ich, wenn ich das nächste Mal in München bin, dort bestimmt auch zum Essen gehen

Stumbled upon this gem. Sat outside in warm September sun under courtyard canopy. The service was friendly, the sea bass and sole with saffron risotto was perfect. It's reassuringly expensive. Put this on your list.

Been here twice over a period of 2 years. Hence I’ve tasted two completely different menus. Both times, every dish hit the mark. Staff very nice, treated well. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Munich.
