Still an institution for Asian cuisine on Münchner Freiheit. Perfect for an enjoyable lunch break. Still highly recommended.

Kao Man Gai is, as always, fresh and delicious, the portions are generous, and the value for money is truly excellent. The Pla Lad Prik is extremely spicy—you should be mentally prepared for that. The fish is quite heavily fried, especially the belly area, which has a texture reminiscent of chips, and it's also quite greasy. Personally, I didn't like it that much.

The interior is bright and welcoming. There's also a large outdoor area, which is well-attended when the weather's nice. The service was very friendly and attentive. Some of the food was good, some of it very salty, which was a shame. Unfortunately, the music was quite loud inside, so conversations became quite tiring after a while. The value for money is decent.

The food has become so disastrous. Noodles undercooked, hard, barely edible... never again. The staff doesn't speak German. What a pity.

Wow – simply incredible! Definitely the best Thai restaurant in all of Munich! I was there alone and felt at home from the very first moment. The food is a true taste experience – intense, balanced, authentic – and the portions are more than generous. You won't just be full, you'll also be completely satisfied. The visual aspect is also impressive: lovingly prepared and with an eye for detail. What particularly stood out was the friendly and attentive service, led by manager Ing, who kept an eye on everything and created a pleasant atmosphere. A real highlight – I'll definitely be back!

Used to be a good deal-Ok food for a fair price. Now they’ve increased prices by up to 60% (AFTER deducting inflation).

It was the last day of our business trip, and we were looking for a quick bite to eat. MUN MUN was perfect. We sat outside because the weather was summery for late April. My colleague and I both had soups (S2 & S3). Both were delicious. I'll be back for my next appointment in Munich.

Not what it used to be. I used to be addicted to Mun Mun and ate there two or three times a week. Unfortunately, the quality and taste of the food have declined over the last two years, while prices have risen outrageously (€20 for a vegetarian curry, in a restaurant that's more like a takeaway!!!????) The value for money is unfortunately no longer there at all – there are better alternatives these days. The only positive thing: you don't have to wait long for the (overpriced and mediocre) food.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Munich. The portions are large and the Pad Thai is so good!

I have been here several times and their food and service never disappoint me. They are probably the best and the most authentic Thai food in the city. In terms of both quality and quantity, the price is more than reasonable. Just a note that they also have good vegetarian options so the food menu is pretty inclusive!

I can't understand the good reviews. The chicken was more like boiled, not really fried, not seasoned, dry, with hardly any sauce, only halfway between the rice and the chicken, with hardly any vegetables. The Pad Thai was also much too dry, lacking the typical flavor. When we pointed out that we couldn't finish it as it was, they only offered to add sauce for an extra charge. That's unacceptable at this price range. There was also no soy sauce or anything similar on the table to enhance the flavor. The plates were returned half-full. The waiter asked the cashier why we hadn't told them it wasn't tasty. But that's exactly what we had tried, in a friendly way...but they didn't respond. The quality of a mediocre snack at very high prices.

Mun Mun impresses with truly outstanding food – fresh, flavorful, and lovingly prepared. The quality of the dishes is consistently high, and you can tell the passion is evident here. One small downside, however, is the significantly increased prices. While still acceptable for the experience offered, they're definitely on the high side. If you appreciate good Asian food and are willing to pay a little more, this is the place for you. Despite everything, we're always happy to come back!

Mun Mun is highly recommended! The staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the vegetarian options — they stood out the most. Don’t miss the mango sticky rice; it’s a must-try!

Prices have increased by at least 10% again and you even have to pay for the takeaway box (for a tasting of over 100€)!!!

Everything's great. But the price breaks my student heart. Is the rent so expensive, or why are the prices so high? Because if it's just the location, couldn't you offer discounts for low-income earners? People with demanding, unpaid jobs, people on welfare, or even students and...

During a business trip to Munich, we ate here twice in three days. I love Thai cuisine and was absolutely thrilled. This certainly won't be the last time – all my colleagues agreed!

It was a nice dining experience. Location is directly near U3/U6 München Freiheit. Depending on your preference, you can eat either inside or outside on their terrace. The food was pretty good and they served a really big portion. I ordered fried egg noodles with chicken and vegetables 🍜

Ordered a prawn and veggie soup for lunch, 8.50 Euros. What came out was a little bowl fit for a child. The one prawn had it's poop shoot dangling in the soup and the veggies were raw mushrooms. The broth was fine, however very salty. Not feeling full or satisfied, won't come back. The staff is attentive and kind.

MunMun is the perfect place to eat really delicious food! The crispy duck in sweet and sour sauce is simply amazing! Crispy yet juicy!! Their Phad Thai are also very authentic and there are so many variations that it makes your mouth water🤤 I can only warmly recommend it!

Overall, food, service and atmosphere are good. Price is also reasonable. Will definitely visit again😋

Honestly I can’t understand the enthusiastic reviews. Rushed, bland, not authentic Thai food (the place emanates strong Vietnamese vibes). The red curry came with random western veggies, bell peppers, lots of carrots in huge chunks. The tom kha gai was similarly full of carrots. The summer rolls were okish but they’re not really a Thai staple, are they. All incredibly overpriced for the low level of authenticity they offer. If you know and like authentic Thai food, stay away from here.

A return trip for Briyani... While waiting for my food to be prepared for take away... I was presented with a lovely Chai... A simple yet genuine gesture says alot about their attitude to excellent service. Thank you.🙏

The service is very nice but the food has nothing to do with Thai cuisine but is a watered down version so as not to offend anyone's taste. Plus, it's incredibly expensive. I've never had such a mediocre curry in my life for half the price.

Really hit the spot! The Tom Yum soup was perfect !! Noodles were made with grate expertise … Great flavors and friendly service… Most brilliant is every dish you can get in Vegetarian and Vegan option !! Definitely would love to come back.

I went to the restaurant and ordered papaya salad. A salad with just vegetables for €16.50 is very expensive. Tomyum soup is very salty. The waiters' attitude is very bad, I had to wait a long time until I got a table and could pay. extremely unfriendly staff

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. It's nice to sit outside, but the food wasn't good at all and was completely overpriced. None of the dishes really tasted good. The quality corresponded to a mediocre fast food restaurant. The price was absolutely not justified. Too bad.

I have to give one star here. The way we were treated was simply not right for a restaurant where you can actually expect more. My meal had coriander in it, which wasn't on the menu. At first I thought I'd say nothing and just get it out there, but it was just too much. The waiter then said it would be cooked again, which I found really nice. A minute later his colleague came with the same plate and said that it was not being recooked. “You can just make it out,” they said.

The best and most authentic Thai restaurant in Munich. Have been there 4 times now, very satisfied every time. Food is excellent, service is friendly and competent, location is not that big but has a great ambience. So come early, otherwise there will be a queue at the door. Reservation not possible, but it wouldn't make much sense here. Prices are reasonable, even with the huge price increases in recent years. 5 out of 5 and we would love to come back

This is a nice restaurant (exactly restaurant and nothing else). The prices for the main dishes are 16-23 euros, but the portions are GIANT! They will give you a lot of meats, don't worry :) I also liked the sauce, those that's an all star for me.

I am Thai & I can proudly say that Mun Mun offers the real authentic Thai food. Its so far my number one Thai restaurant in Germany both services & taste. Definitely will go back whenever im in Munich.

I was totally surprised because the last time I was here was around 2018 and back then the restaurant was still up the street. It has now moved down next to the Alnatura. However, nothing has changed in terms of quality.

Come to dine here for a dinner with friends and it was amazing. Every dish served was almost for two people. We couldn’t almost finish our meal but it was worth skipping the diet. 😁

I used to love eating here and always recommended Mun Mun because the service, prices and taste were right. I always came two or three times a week for the fried noodles with chicken, which initially cost €8.90, and the sate gai, which cost €4.50 at the time. I was almost a little addicted :) Over the last few years the prices have increased so much that I no longer eat there and just walk past them, apart from the fact that the quality of the food has also decreased. 4 pieces of satay are now €7.50 and the fried noodles are an unbelievable €16.90 (in terms of the value of the goods, it is probably €2-3 per portion)! There is a price increase of almost 100% here, even though Munich restaurants overall have become 10-20% more expensive on average. There is also no discount for take-away. Pure madness and greed for profit. It's no fun anymore. Anyone who lives in the area and often walks past the restaurant knows that it is always busy. I think the landlord deserves a golden nose here. Why not, if people pay the prices anyway. I'm no longer a regular customer, so I'm probably not the only one. If the prices were lower, more people would probably eat there, in keeping with the Lidl principle, because sales would still be right. It's also a shame that none of the reviews that address the prices or quality are addressed by the owner, but that was somehow to be expected.

Super delicious Thai cuisine. Things can hardly get any better in Germany. Very friendly team. We would be happy to come back the next time we visit Munich. Unfortunately they do not deliver to Aschaffenburg. ;)

See authentic original Thai dishes. Good friendly service. Fresh vegetables and good spicy sauce. For some dishes you have to order less spiciness. Otherwise the cooking will be very spicy. In summer the restaurant offers outside seating. Good Thai restaurant in the area. Prices are high. It is recommended.

Food is very tasty, the restaurant is big and the service was really fast. It is expensive but not very different from other places in Munich and the portions are big.

There was a long line in front of the restaurant, but it went really quickly for us since there were only two of us. We both had Tom Kha Gai soup with rice. The soup came quickly, was hot and delicious. Pleasantly spicy and not too spicy. We had the seat by the window, so we didn't notice much of the ambience. People often asked if everything fit. Price performance was also right, especially since it is right next to Munich Freedom. Happy to come back!

As soon as you walk inside, there is an amazing smell of delicious food. The food was savoury 🤤 and it was a very generous portion. The waiter was so nice that got me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

We had a 20-minute wait for a group of 5, and it was totally worth it. The food was great, and the service was quick and friendly. I will definitely eat here again.

We went for dinner, and had a great time. We were quickly given a table and then the table service was extremely quick. The food was amazing and the casual setting really complemented it. The papaya salad was exceptional!

The food is delicious, but the service staff's attitude is very bad. Every black employee is ok. The rest are very rude to customers. The small, Asian employee is very unpleasant to customers.

Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. We arrived late and with a large group - the staff made everything possible for us to still have a nice and chill dining atmosphere and were super friendly. Food is tasty and plenty and the front-cooking kitchen gives the place a real honest and authentic vibe. PS: even though the menu does not seem to have that many veggie options, you can swap meat with tofu in almost every dish!

Friendly staffs that speaks English. Love all the food from their menu. Not the first time eating there, I had been there many times when I had Thai food cravings. The portion was huge too! Worth it! The one that I ordered was crispy duck with red curry! Awesome as always!

Went here for lunch today. The food was above avarage but also not quite 5*, the portions were rather big. Service was great and attentive. The thing I liked least was the atmosphere. It was quite noisy inside and the smoke and steam from the open kitchen often spilled over into the seating area. Considering everything, the food was rather expensive.

Delicious and very palatable. Went to eat on Sunday. The shop has moved to a place near the train station exit. It's bigger than before, with lots of seating both inside and outside. The moisture of the white-chopped chicken is not locked in, so the price is slightly expensive due to regional reasons.

The food here is really delicious, so I recommend everyone to visit this restaurant - but only if you are skilled at scaring away flies while eating.😜😜😜 During my visit there were flies everywhere in the dining room, but apparently that's not a problem with the restaurant, but with the guests, who just don't react quickly enough. In any case, it was only after drinking that I realized that I had probably involuntarily consumed protein. The staff was nice enough to offer me a new drink, but made a point of saying it wasn't a problem on the restaurant's part. So if you're looking for a culinary adventure with a little "lively" challenge, you've come to the right place!

I am the friend of the guest who found a fly in his drink at this restaurant and I would like to sincerely apologize on behalf of my friend and especially the fly. I think it's great that the restaurant reacted so calmly and didn't allow itself to cause unnecessary fuss over a small fruit fly. Finally, one should not forget that a fly is also a living creature that is apparently just as welcome in this restaurant as paying guests. I admire the philosophy of this house: live and let live – in the truest sense of the word. So if you are a fan of natural diversity on your plate or in your glass and are not afraid of contact with the little flying companions, you should definitely try this restaurant. A place where you can dine so close to nature is truly rare!

Very quick and friendly service, would recommend sharing the main courses between two people as the portions are very generous. Had two starters, a main course and a dessert as well as drinks for around €30 per person.

As always, very fine - authentic down to the last detail. We always enjoy coming here, waiting for a place is just part of it. And the fact that on Friday afternoon around 4 p.m. you find a crowded restaurant with a total of 10 people waiting for a table says it all...

Edit 2024 Unfortunately the cuisine has deteriorated or the taste has changed so much that we no longer come. At first we thought the kitchen had had a bad day, but the next time we visited we were also disappointed with the taste. Unfortunately, price/performance is no longer suitable for us. Too bad! Therefore I only give 3 stars instead of 5. After we experienced a terrible failure in a "Thai restaurant" a few days ago, we resorted to Mun Mun, one of our two favorite Thai restaurants. The queue in front of the restaurant in itself speaks for the restaurant. After a short wait, we got a table. Service as always quick and friendly. The food was also very, very good as always. No matter what we have eaten in the last few years, be it here in the new restaurant or in the old, small restaurant. There was never any reason for criticism and that means something in today's fast-moving times when restaurants are closing because they lack staff in the kitchen and service.

Nice Thai restaurant with quick and friendly service, attractive ambience and very tasty food (it's pretty close to Thailand). The bad thing is that you can't make a reservation and have to wait so long in the cold. Still not good: ordered Thai pet (in Thai) and received it very mildly 😳😳 January 2025

It was okay, definitely not one of the best.

The food, ingredients, flavors, and portions were impeccable, leaving nothing to be criticized. While the price is relatively higher compared to other Thai restaurants, it is absolutely worth it. So, in terms of food, there are no complaints at all. However, the biggest issue with this restaurant is the service. The staff appeared listless, with an air of indifference, and their attitude toward customers was extremely perfunctory. I’ve always been generous with tips, but this time, after being ignored multiple times despite trying to get their attention, I decided to just round up a special small amount to let them feel the furious of the customer. My personal opinion, the service at this restaurant has crossed the line and has enormous room for improvement.
