I haven't lived in Hildesheim for years, but I visited the city again today and was really looking forward to the Big Shawarma. I wasn't disappointed. The food is truly excellent and delicious. I wish every city had such a great place.

Super fresh and delicious food. We walked from the train station towards the city center and wanted to grab a bite to eat. There were lots of snack bars and kebab shops that didn't appeal to us visually, but then we saw Mr. LECKER. A super appetizing skewer, very appealing. Everything looked really delicious. We immediately ordered a shawarma plate. It was very good. Fresh, with hummus, sauces, and a fresh salad. I highly recommend it.

Shawarma is a dish from Arab and Middle Eastern countries such as Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. Shawarma comes from the Turkish word "çevirme," meaning "to turn." I hadn't heard of shawarma before until my Iraqi colleagues brought it back for me from Hildesheim for the late shift. It looks like Turkish dürüm, but it tastes different; I'd even say it tastes better than dürüm. I drove all the way from Hanover to eat it fresh. Fresh tastes so much better. I would recommend this place to anyone. Excellent.

Whenever I'm in Hildesheim, this is a place I have to stop by at least once to eat shawarma. Very authentically prepared in a shop that seems completely inauthentic, with its wooden paneling reminiscent of a quaint German pub and the Greek wall poster depicting part of the Acropolis. But somehow, the narrow, ancient space also makes this shop very cozy. I highly recommend everyone in Hildesheim to stop by here; vegetarian options are also available. A definite recommendation!

When I feel like having shawarma, I drive all the way from Hanover to Hildesheim. It's the best in the region. You have to try it at least once.

My expectations were more than exceeded! Incredibly delicious food! I highly recommend it. A larger restaurant would be nicer, of course, but it doesn't change the quality of the food.

Today we went to his place and ordered Lebanese shawarma. He gave me shawarma with lots of disgusting and inedible vegetables.

I've been a regular customer at Mr. Lecker for years, and the shawarma is simply perfect. Delicious meat, great sauces, and fresh vegetables—as it should be! Unfortunately, it gets very busy during peak hours, and you can expect a good 20-minute wait. Unfortunately, there's limited seating inside or outside. All in all, though, it still gets 5 stars because the shawarma is simply unbeatable.

It’s very tasty, as a gourmet I say that I tried to eat a lot in Germany, in different cafes and fast food cafes, but this place is special, they make delicious dishes and shawarma.

Every time it's open at 11 a.m. but when you come, you always say we'll open later. What is that please?! Then they should just make new opening hours. It's really not possible to send your customers away. I find something like that outrageous.

I had the Tavook Shish plate, the meat was seasoned ok but dry and only warmed up briefly. The salad had no dressing or sauce, the fries were thick wedges that were also only lukewarm and barely seasoned. The "sauce" was a dollop of garlic cream that came from a bucket. The whole thing was in Styrofoam packaging with a plastic fork as an “in house” meal. For €14,-. I would go somewhere else next time, there is a lot of competition here. My colleague's shawarma was also just average and not very big either.

Today I went to Mr. Delicious, oriental specialties, and it was simply fantastic! As soon as you entered the restaurant, the atmosphere was incredibly inviting and charming. The staff was very friendly and accommodating - you immediately notice that hospitality is very important here. The “Shawarma Plate” was the absolute highlight! The shawarma was perfectly seasoned and juicy, and there were fresh side dishes that rounded off the dish wonderfully. For me as a lover of oriental cuisine it was a true taste experience. The relaxed atmosphere and great service rounded off the experience. I can only warmly recommend Mr. Lecker – everything is perfect here. If you are in Hildesheim nearby, you should definitely stop by. I'll definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was there on September 27, 2024 (and a few other days too). "[...] After the rain I went further and looked at the kebab shop “Mr. Leaky”, which is recommended by Hildesheim vegetarians. 😛 I got a falafel roll with chickpea balls and homemade bread for 5 euros. They have cool benches here that have a "glaze" on them - at first I thought the wood was wet [...] The falafel roll tastes great. I would like more vegan offers :))

I came there for the first time and wanted to eat kebab, the employee grinned and asked if it was my first time there and if he could recommend a shawarma.
