We ordered a Togo tea today and were warmly welcomed and advised by the staff, making us feel very comfortable. The tea was served perfectly drinkable and was very enjoyable. The location and proximity to the castle are ideal for a short or longer stay at the inn. We would gladly return.

We wanted to enjoy a relaxing coffee with our visitors from Holstein. The cake selection wasn't particularly extensive. What was very disappointing was that several tables still had used dishes on them, and these weren't cleared even after we left the restaurant. We waited ages before anyone took our order. Orders were only taken from tables that arrived after us. Another 30 minutes passed, and the waiter came and told us he couldn't find our order. So we had to take our order again and waited endlessly once more until the coffee and cake arrived. We later ordered another cup of coffee. What arrived was a "café au lait"! We remember this restaurant as Mövenpick. It's incomparable, and we certainly won't be returning.

The air quality in the greenhouse-like hall is poor. The breakfast buffet is stressful because it's only available from 9:00 to 11:15. For such a short time, I find it too expensive. The restaurant's surroundings are quite nice if you like castles and the park. I think the discount for the nearby parking lot is great (get a QR code at the checkout).

The restaurant is beautiful and the food is good. However, the service staff were very grumpy towards us. They seemed almost annoyed. Perhaps they don't like Italians. Furthermore, I received my salad quite quickly – albeit without the bread I had ordered – but my four tablemates only received their dishes after three reminders and more than an hour. The male servers ignored us. Luckily, a friendly older woman took care of our long wait and apologized. She even offered us coffee as compensation, but my companions were still eating their schnitzel. Also, one of the lemon slices was moldy.

After the visibly and noticeably annoyed staff made us wait for 20 minutes after assigning us a table and only handed out our menus after we asked, we had to beg again for another 15 minutes. All this, just before we learned at 3:01 p.m. that lunch was only available until 3:00 p.m. Just because it's probably the only restaurant in town doesn't justify this ugly behavior. It's a shame, because this place deserves more friendliness.

Our visit was disappointing. We knew the restaurant from before (Mövenpick) and were there for the first time in a long time. The waiter greeted us courteously and friendly. The menu was quite small, but appealing. But we had to wait a VERY long time for the food. Even an apple juice we ordered later only arrived after 10-15 minutes. The mushroom goulash was unconvincing, tasting unpleasantly sour. The Wiener Schnitzel (31 euros!!!) was good, but the warm potato salad was not. The potatoes tasted "old, musty"; they were simply covered in a broth and balsamic vinegar mixture. - That's not what potato salad served with Wiener Schnitzel looks like!

We had timed tickets for Sanssouci, and although the restaurant wasn't very busy, we had to wait so long to order that we only had time for a tarte flambée. The waiter was very friendly and the room lovely, so we went back that afternoon for a full meal. The team was completely different, and the service was unfortunately very disappointing: only very young temporary workers were working there, who were clearly untrained. Inattentive, unfriendly, with no knowledge of the food, and with a rather arrogant attitude. This takes away a lot of the restaurant's atmosphere and makes the visit unpleasant. It's a shame; something could have been done with the restaurant in this beautiful building and with its great location, but we certainly won't be coming back.

We were here for a birthday. The ambiance is really nice and very bright thanks to the glass front. Although the service has been very good so far, I have to mention two things. First, I booked well in advance and asked for a table that could be decorated for the birthday, if possible. I wasn't expecting much, but we didn't even have a tablecloth and were sitting like everyone else. Furthermore, I explained that it was a surprise for the lady whose birthday it was, and when I stood at the reception and asked for the table, they looked at me confused and "blurted" loudly that I had booked for four people, so the surprise was ruined. Of course, things like this can go wrong, but a little more communication would have been great 😊😊 But the food and the ambiance literally made up for the initial stumbling blocks!!

We were at the historic mill inn with a large group on September 20th for my grandmother's 90th birthday. We had been there several times with larger groups before the change of ownership. Unfortunately, we weren't satisfied the last few times, but my grandmother wanted to give the restaurant another chance. The food sometimes took a very long time to arrive. Waiters didn't know what they were bringing - when asked. On top of that, tables were being moved. Right next to us, so we always felt like we were just "passing through" before the next event. There was no comfortable atmosphere. Furthermore, we were seated at three separate tables with about 15 people, even though it had been announced months in advance that there would be a seating plan. This was therefore no longer valid. The icing on the cake was that they advertised "Original GDR Schnitzel." Is that supposed to be a positive thing? This was our last visit to this inn, and I wouldn't recommend it in the slightest based on price/performance. What a shame.

Finally, the breakfast buffet is back! We used to come here regularly for breakfast/brunch, back when it was still under Mövenpick. Now the new owner is offering a breakfast buffet again – with excellent quality and a very good selection. The staff is attentive, friendly, and makes you feel completely at home. The atmosphere in the conservatory is simply beautiful. Everything was beautifully set up after the renovation. We'd love to come back!

When we ate here, I got a caraway salad with a hint of cabbage... actually, the side dish was a coleslaw. There was so much caraway in it, it was simply inedible. My friend had the "Wienerschnitzel" (Wiener schnitzel), the potato salad was more like mashed potatoes than a typical salad, and the schnitzel was far from a Wienerschnitzel. The only nice thing was the palm trees and the ambiance that came with it.

While it wasn't full, we only had to wait 15 minutes to order and another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. There were 4 waiters working, leisurely, not at all in a hurry. We spent 12 nights in Berlin. We've never encountered such slowness anywhere, although we ate in a restaurant at least once almost every day. It's a shame to ruin a restaurant like that. Only go here if you have enough time, like to wait and can stay calm! You'd better take bus 695 and go to a restaurant in the center of Potsdam.

Unfortunately, you can't give zero stars. We ate here in the beer garden on August 7, 2025. We had currywurst with fries. It was the most disgusting currywurst we've ever had. It didn't deserve that name at all. It was a cross between a wiener and a bockwurst in a casing, the kind we only know from the plastic packaging in the supermarket. This "sausage" lay cut in half on the cardboard. They had apparently only seen a grill or roasting pan from a distance; they weren't even browned and were almost cold. The pale curry sauce was then poured over this not-even-lukewarm "thing." We've never been served anything so bad. I don't even want to talk about the price here; after all, it's the beer garden next to the fine restaurant! Never again!!!

The four of us wanted to sit outside in the restaurant. There was a sign at the entrance saying we would be seated. The two waiters kept us standing there for over 10 minutes. Even though there were free tables, we weren't allowed to sit. When we asked, we were rudely brushed off; we had just arrived. The lady left and didn't come back for a while. When she came back, we asked if we could sit at a free round table. She curtly replied: "No, it still needs to be cleared." There was only one glass on the table. Then we left. Enough guests come every day who are taken in by the seemingly pleasant ambiance; you don't need regulars in this location. We were there today with guests from Hamburg and were embarrassed. We were looking forward to a salad with chanterelle mushrooms. What was served was—let's just say unexpectedly—cold, pickled chanterelle mushrooms from a can over sour red salad and some chips. A 0.4 l Pilsner cost €6. Never again! Please avoid this rip-off place!

We were pretty desperate that morning, wondering how we could make the very first birthday with his little friends a great day for the children despite the rain. We received such a warm welcome, and at this point, a huge thank you to the caretaker; you're the best and saved our little one's birthday! Thank you so much for making this afternoon unforgettable with your ideas (including the tablecloth blowing off in the storm and you spontaneously fetching pegs). We were there last week for my birthday. Unfortunately, it was a private party inside, so we sat outside. Which was okay because the weather was nice. I chose a trout and I must honestly say, I've never eaten such bad trout! The skin was inedible, the potatoes weren't fresh, and even half a liter of butter sauce couldn't save it—quite the opposite. My husband had the veal steak with 8 chanterelle mushrooms(!) and terrible French fries. If you've ever experienced the former Möwenpick, you can only leave very disappointed. The price-performance ratio is absolutely not right; probably mostly tourists who don't complain or think that this is the only quality you can get in Potsdam. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, and it wasn't his fault. He even offered a coffee as an apology. I'm very disappointed and would advise anyone not to try this cuisine.

Very friendly waiters and waitresses. Very good food. Even if you sometimes have to wait a little longer than usual (the waiters and waitresses rush to everyone as quickly as possible, but there are sometimes too few for the high demand, so please bear with us!), it's worth it. At least it gives you time to have a good conversation when you meet people. Unlike in other restaurants, you don't have to leave after 30 minutes, 20 of which are full of everyone, because the next person would rather have your table. So bring your time and a taste for good food.

The ladies in the service, although they have limited skills, are very friendly and attentive to the guests. The young man, who was clearly a manager and authorized cashier, made a very unfriendly impression on us. You stand in the waiting area for minutes without any sympathy, just like 40 years ago, and as a paying guest, you expect at least a greeting and information about your table assignment. With service like that, we wouldn't want to visit a restaurant like that again. The restaurant at the ArtHotel Havelberg is an exemplary example of how things can be done differently.

The wine pairing was really good. The accompanying explanations of the courses and wines were good. The service was good and attentive. The ambiance could still be improved. There were only closely spaced tables of six, and more than half of the Palmensaal was empty. It would have been more pleasant to use tables for two or four. Given the prices, this is certainly to be expected.

I visited the snack bar next to the restaurant! The service was a disaster: unfriendly and unprofessional. The prices are exorbitant and bear no relation to the quality. The food was cold, as if it had been sitting for hours. Definitely my first and last time – absolutely not recommended.

After our civil wedding, we had a wonderful time at the "Zur Historischen Mühle" inn. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed—exactly what we wanted for this special moment with our family and witnesses. The food was excellent, the service attentive and friendly. The only thing we missed was some background music. But we had a wonderful time without it. Nice ambiance, but it was very hot inside due to the glass fronts and closed skylights, and we couldn't get a seat outside. After a fairly long wait, the menu arrived, and the subsequent wait times were also comparatively long. Coffee and cake were served separately – the coffee was almost gone by the time the cake arrived. The ice cream order was mixed up. Overall, it was also questionable why there was a 40-minute wait for coffee, cake, and two ice creams, and why you had to confront the staff beforehand about the long wait. You could also hear grumbling at the neighboring tables :-( I really remembered the restaurant "Zur Historischen Mühle" as being much better...

Until now, the restaurant has always been a guarantee of excellent quality and service. After our visit today, we unfortunately discovered that with the change of management (no longer Mövenpick), this is no longer the case. The cleanliness of the restaurant, and especially the sanitary facilities, was off-putting right from the start. We noticed that tables were not immediately cleared or re-laid, which already negatively impacts the first impression. The menu has significantly reduced its content; prices have risen sharply. The service was attentive but visibly overwhelmed. The wrong food was served or with a missing side dish, cutlery was missing, no further requests were made, and we waited almost 20 minutes to pay, even though the restaurant was not full. The quality of the food (e.g., Wiener Schnitzel) was in no way up to the standards previously offered at this establishment. Salt seems to be a popular ingredient, and the side dish was on par with a motorway service station in terms of quantity and quality. The price here in no way justifies the service provided. In our opinion, a few minutes' walk into Potsdam city center is a better option...we won't be coming here again.

Normally good food at upscale prices (asparagus, schnitzel, potatoes €29.50). The service staff was understaffed for the number of seats and visitors, with about one or two waiters too few. The young team was attentive and friendly, but the finishing touches were clearly lacking, such as attentiveness to guests, including not only seeing but also responding to signals from guests that they have a request. Overall, it's improved compared to the previous operator, but there's still room for improvement. However, the incentive to do so is lacking from competitors near the palace and palace park.

It could be so beautiful, but... Unfortunately, this unique location with a beautiful beer garden is ruined by two things: 1. The service is completely overwhelmed, which is pitiful. 2. The poor value for money (simply too expensive). We've been there twice this year. The first time with food, and the second time (second chance), they didn't even manage to bring us a menu within 10 minutes, so we left. The young waiters probably aren't properly trained/trained and don't know what to do first. There are still simply too many customers for too few staff. If this doesn't change soon, the number of customers will probably decrease anyway. Based on the reviews, it wasn't just us. It's a shame that this location has deteriorated so much.

The restaurant has a monopoly, which affects the value for money. Prices are too high for the food. The food came without garnish, among other things. It looked "unloved." The menu is rather difficult for children. There are no children's dishes. Fish dishes are served without appropriate cutlery. The only positive thing worth mentioning are the paper towels in the restrooms.

Since the change of management, we don't like going there anymore. Prices have risen sharply, portions have shrunk, and the service leaves a lot to be desired. On Saturday, at 4 p.m., we couldn't even get a coffee because a party had to be organized and all the guests had to be charged. It's sad. They're apparently no longer dependent on walk-ins. At least the beer garden is functioning.

Imagine a large, open, bright restaurant with a view of Sanssouci Palace. The reception was friendly. After a while, a waitress came by with two menus. My companion wanted to take them from her and then hand me mine; we learned that many years ago. The waitress, however, rudely informed the gentleman that the lady would get the menu first... Oh, doesn't the person serving the food hand it to her? My companion, visiting from New York, was horrified and had to laugh, but she was able to handle it humorously, because this only happens in Germany, that the staff presumes to reprimand a guest. We had plenty of time to chat; the food arrived an hour after ordering and tasted mediocre. What a shame.

We started out as a group of 5 and were seated then three extra people unexpectedly joined us, including two children and it was no problem to move us to a larger table. Service was friendly and helpful and accommodating of a large group including a couple of non-German speakers. Food was delicious and a good night was had by all, celebrating a family visit from visitors from a long way away in a multi-generational group.
