The restaurant was somewhat lacking in service staff (there's no real kitchen on site). Luckily, there are plenty of other locations within one or two bus stops.

The location and breakfast were excellent. The city center and sights were easily accessible. The service staff were friendly and attentive. I would describe the rooms as showing their age.

It's clearly past its prime. Beware of hidden costs: there's no public parking nearby, and it costs a hefty €25 per night. The pool and sauna are also chargeable, but the price isn't specified anywhere. The bar staff is abysmal, especially the bar manager.

During the major Berlin power outage in January 2026, many Berliners received help. The large influx of freezing residents of Zehlendorf was superbly organized by very friendly and hardworking staff.

The hotel is centrally located. Our room was unclean, dusty, and dirty. The sink was broken, and there were no glasses, but no drinks, no minibar, no information about Wi-Fi, no kettle, and the furniture was scratched and unsightly. Breakfast was really expensive at €25, and parking was also €25 per day, so there were a lot of extra costs.

Disastrous service, absolutely not recommended. My wife and I are currently on a short trip to the Dorint Hotel Potsdam and are extremely disappointed. The reception was unreachable by phone on several occasions. The mineral water in the spa area wasn't refilled. The hotel doesn't offer any cake at the usual coffee time. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this size and price range. The hotel bar was supposed to open at 4:30 pm, but was postponed by 30 minutes at short notice. Poor organization and inadequate communication. Our room wasn't cleaned yesterday or today. No service, no fresh towels, nothing. At breakfast this morning, only two staff members were responsible for the entire area and were clearly overwhelmed. However, there was plenty of food, and the kitchen staff regularly replenished it. The problem was clearly a lack of service staff. This afternoon was the low point. We wanted to ask something at reception. While other guests were being served ahead of us, we saw a staff member hide behind a door, apparently to avoid serving us. We found this behavior utterly outrageous. The overall impression is clear: this hotel is geared towards companies and conferences. Private guests are obviously not welcome here. Conclusion: Never again Dorint.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Dorint in Potsdam. Our room was very well-maintained and spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired, and the staff, regardless of department, were incredibly friendly. The hotel's location was also very convenient. The city center is easily accessible. We mostly used public transportation, with stops right nearby. It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We would gladly return.

My go-to base for getting around Berlin has the advantage of being quiet and reasonably priced, and is within walking distance of the old town.

Large hotel north of Potsdam's city center. (With one exception) very friendly staff. Good breakfast. However, the cost for breakfast and underground parking is a hefty €25 each. The rooms are spacious but somewhat dated (carpeting and bathroom). The pedestrian zone and Sanssouci Palace are a 10-minute walk away.

The room was nice and mostly clean – but its age (especially the bathroom) was showing. Check-in took almost 20 minutes due to a long queue. The staff were friendly, but also a bit stressed. The exorbitant price of €25 for one night in the parking garage (€2.50 per half hour, daily maximum €25) is, in my opinion, outrageous. Sure, it's supply and demand; they can do that, they're certainly making a lot of money. But for me, it means I'll probably check with a different hotel in the future.

We stayed one night at the Dorint Hotel Potsdam. The service and the rooms were exceptionally good. Unfortunately, the location on the main road wasn't ideal, as it was quite noisy at night. We deducted one star because you can see some signs of wear and tear here and there after all these years. But we'd gladly come back again 😊

Our family had a wonderful two-day stay there. We received a very warm welcome and were treated to a generous breakfast before leaving. The rooms are modern and quiet. Parking in the underground garage was perfect. The hotel offers more than just accommodation; they also provide activities like swimming. For dinner, they offer a small but excellent menu, including a delicious currywurst. Next time we visit Berlin, we'll definitely stay there again.

Typical business hotel; if you've seen one, you've seen them all. I requested a quiet room when booking and received one right on the street. Reaching anyone by phone beforehand was impossible, but my email was answered fairly promptly. The room's furnishings and condition were okay; there was still toothpaste from the previous guest in the sink, but otherwise it was clean. Two saunas, one at 70 degrees and the other at 90 degrees, were okay, but not particularly well-maintained. Why? When you're lying in the sauna and can see the dust moving regularly on the ceiling, that's how I (or rather, I) came to that conclusion. Breakfast offers a wide selection and, most importantly, fresh rolls, not the kind you often get pre-baked rolls these days. Charging €25 per day for an underground parking space is steep; I wouldn't pay that for personal use and would book a different hotel instead. All in all, it was okay.

A very nice business hotel with a great breakfast, spa area, and excellent seminar facilities. The rooms are large, clean, and well-furnished. The mattresses are comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, both the receptionists and the cleaning staff. The bar area is attractive. The bartender is very friendly. The parking spaces in the underground garage are clean and sufficiently large. It is well-lit, and you feel safe. The terms and conditions for the electric vehicle charging station in the underground garage are bizarre. Imagine asking the attendant at the gas station how much diesel costs and being told, "€50 for one fill-up." It doesn't matter whether you arrive with a three-quarters full Corsa or an empty E-Class with an 80-liter tank. €30 per charge is as expensive as it is strange.

The hotel is outdated and dated. Some tiles around the bath are missing grout, and the radiator is quite rusty in places. The room is also quite warm, and the beds are awful. The Wi-Fi in the room is also terrible. When I finally got it, the speed was no higher than 1 Mbps. Not very pleasant if you're trying to work from your room. You also hear all the noise, whether from the conference rooms or the road, it's all loud and disruptive. Breakfast isn't particularly special either. The location is excellent, however, and within walking distance of several beautiful sights and the city center.

First of all, we love this hotel and have been coming here for years. Unfortunately, there are now some things that are no longer acceptable. We always book a suite when available. We were very disappointed that the rooms are no longer cleaned daily. When I pay over €300 per day, this is unacceptable. When we brought this up, we were given a note in the room indicating where we had to request cleaning service. There were no more drinks in the minibar. The room still wasn't ready at 3 pm. It was only after the manager intervened that it was finally cleaned. A taxi wasn't booked; they forgot because they were too busy (even though we had booked it three hours in advance). There was no fruit in the room at check-in (despite us being Dorint Card holders). The swimming pool wasn't open until late afternoon that day. These might seem like minor issues to some, but if you're used to regular service, it creates a negative impression.

The noise level could only be topped if you slept right on the intersection... An old-school hotel, with both positive and negative aspects. The staff was mostly friendly, and the service was adequate. The furnishings were a bit dated, but clean. Getting into the bathtub/shower combination required a bit of a climb. The mattresses were solid. However, the noise from the street was unbearable; even with earplugs, sleep was impossible after 6 a.m. Why they didn't invest in proper soundproofing remains a mystery to me.

I chose this hotel because of the swimming pool and the rustic Fritze Bar! Both were inaccessible. The whole hotel has a kind of hospital-like charm—nothing cozy, nothing nice! Before 7:00 a.m., this 4-star hotel doesn't offer coffee or tea for early birds. At 6:55 a.m., you're rudely turned away by an unfriendly employee guarding the breakfast entrance. Potsdam was a dream! Despite this hotel, I would never stay here again because of it!!!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at the Dorint Hotel Potsdam. We felt very comfortable in the hotel and our lovely room. The hotel team lovingly prepared the birthday table in the restaurant (for breakfast) with a bouquet of roses, and then there was also a delicious sweet surprise for the birthday boy. It was a perfect start to a wonderful day in Potsdam. In summary, all the staff members were very attentive, helpful, and friendly.

My stay at the Dorint Hotel Potsdam was unfortunately marred by a completely unacceptable incident: the toilet in the guest room was visibly dirty. There was a black water stain, obvious signs of neglect – and even the manufacturer's label was still stuck to the ceramic. I have never experienced anything like this in a supposedly "4-star" hotel. However, the way my complaint was handled was particularly disappointing. The duty manager not only seemed completely overwhelmed, but didn't even manage to apologize for the situation. Instead, I was simply left standing there as if my complaint were utterly irrelevant. Such a level of indifference towards guests is simply incomprehensible. When basic hygiene standards are not met and criticism is ignored without any response, it leaves a very bitter aftertaste.

Great location in Potsdam – all sights are easily accessible on foot or by public transport. The hotel borders the Russian colony of Alexandrowka and is close to Sanssouci Palace, the Heiliger See (Holy Lake), and the city center. Very clean and quiet, with very friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and have ample storage space.

Pool closed. Restaurant open only to guests on half-board. Bar offers four simple dishes. Parking costs €25 per day. 12 minutes to the city center. 20 minutes to Sanssouci Palace. Breakfast costs €25 per person and is very good. Air-conditioned rooms. Located on a noisy street. Bus line 695 stops directly in front of the hotel.

Finally, a stay at the Dorint Potsdam! I've known the hotel for ages, but this was my first time as a guest. The reception was extremely competent and courteous, with a friendly atmosphere. The lobby with its glass elevators immediately reminded me of the BER airport, especially parking garage 7/8. Everything was clean and welcoming. The parking garage was excellent, and room access was easy. The rooms, bathroom fixtures, toilet seat, and a loose electrical outlet all showed their age. None of this detracted from the overall experience, but it's only a 4-star rating. The prices for breakfast and parking reflect the quality, variety, and pleasant ambiance. The hotel bar deserves a mention. There are people there who can actually make cocktails without prior notice. A Cosmopolitan was quite a challenge! So, everything else is 5 stars, and it was a lovely stay!

The air conditioning only turns off when the window is open; please provide your guests with something to turn it off when they check in. We only encountered friendly and helpful staff; keep it up! The hotel and rooms are very nice and well-equipped. The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious. However, the exorbitant price for parking in the garage is a definite drawback. €25 for each night of the stay and a flat rate of €30 for the electric vehicle charging station, regardless of how much you charge, in addition to the parking fees, is simply unacceptable and cannot be justified in any hotel. Furthermore, we have never experienced a hotel where staff were absolutely unwilling to even check if the room was ready at 2 pm, but instead insisted on the 3 pm check-in time.

The location is ideal if you want to reach many sights on foot. The entrance area is spacious and has a simple, clean design. The staff are very friendly. Unfortunately, our room was very run-down. There were stains on the walls, the floor, and the armchair. In the bathroom, there was a long hair left in the shower from the previous guest. The shower head had been haphazardly fixed with a cable tie to keep it from slipping down. This urgently needs to be repaired.

The rooms are standard; there's nothing to complain about or particularly noteworthy about them. I don't know if they're really 4-star hotels, as I've stayed in similar rooms in 3-star hotels. What really annoys and irritates me, however, is the fact that the hotel is advertised online as vegan-friendly, yet the breakfast buffet offers nothing vegan except hummus and muesli. Even the Google page here states that there are vegan options. There's no sign of them, and I feel misled. This is outdated, but we're used to it. It's quite another thing, though, to emphasize something and then offer nothing of the sort. This will probably be our last short break at a hotel, as we've only had bad experiences so far regarding plant-based food options. The healthy and cruelty-free trend seems to have completely passed this industry by. It's a shame; this is how you lose customers in the long run. €25 for one night in the parking garage is also completely overpriced. I was glad I found a spot two streets away. We're going to explore Potsdam now, and tomorrow morning we'll have a bowl of muesli and a roll with hummus again. Edit: Our comment at reception was met with some surprise, and they promised to inform the kitchen. This obviously didn't happen, because the selection hadn't changed the next day. We then asked directly at the buffet, and the very nice lady prepared a small plate of vegan cold cuts for us. Two types of sausage, one type of cheese. At least that was something. But even here, it's incomprehensible that they advertise a vegan breakfast and then the selection remains so basic when we ask. There are so many vegan foods available these days, from yogurt to spreads, salads, and much, much more; in many cases, they could rely solely on plant-based alternatives. It's a real shame; it's a missed opportunity.

Unfortunately, we were more than disappointed by the consistently poor service and the extremely high prices. The restaurant is closed on Sundays. The overnight stay was €25.00 per day, and breakfast was €25.00 per person. The toilet was dirty with hair and dirt. The hairdryer in the next room was broken. First, the cards weren't valid for the pool area, and then this happened: small children were in the pool until late in the evening without any protection against feces. The pool has since been closed. This afternoon, several children were in the sauna with their parents. All of them were wearing swimwear. The staff didn't feel responsible. That's unacceptable! But that's exactly why we chose this hotel. No price reduction!

The hotel is conveniently located, has a nice spa area, and the service is okay. Unfortunately, our room wasn't particularly clean. The trash can in the bathroom was still full from the previous occupant, and the bathroom fixtures and wardrobe were dusty. It's a shame; it shouldn't happen in this category.

Unfortunately, I can't give more stars. We booked an overnight stay for a business trip. The price was perfectly fine at 120 euros. But when we had to add another night, we were asked for 230 euros. With a 90% cancellation fee, that's not fair. For 120 euros, the room was OK, but for 230 euros you definitely expect more. The open spaces of the hotel are beautiful and of high quality. There was a fully automatic coffee machine in the middle of the foyer - no sign on it. When I wanted to make myself an espresso (breakfast time), I was rather rudely informed that the machine was not for public use but for an event. THEN PUT A SIGN UP! The sound makes the music here - and it wasn't appropriate. Beds are only made every two days, or the room is tidied... And that for 230 euros a night... I feel like I was ripped off and won't be staying here again.

The Dorint Hotel is actually very good. We've stayed there several times and have always been very satisfied. We were unlucky all around. The bed was too narrow for two people. The window couldn't be opened, and the air conditioning was too loud and inefficient. This made the room stuffy and difficult to breathe. And to top it all off, the bathroom stank of feces.

The hotel is very large and has an extremely large number of rooms. Unfortunately, the window in our first room couldn't be opened, and the air conditioning was very loud. I have no idea who would be able to sleep there. Fortunately, the reception staff were able to help. The room is large and clean. The furnishings are functional and comfortable. It's annoying that you have to pay extra to use the pool and spa. I've never experienced anything like that before. Even more annoying is the rate for the underground parking garage: €25 per day. This should be mentioned somewhere in the hotel description. Parking nearby is not possible. In my opinion, the facilities here are being mercilessly exploited. This unfortunately leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Due to the sheer number of rooms, we also had to expect a lot of guests at breakfast. And that's exactly what happened. But hats off to the staff there. Very friendly and everything was on top of things. Used tables were immediately cleared, thoroughly washed, and re-set. And all of this was somehow uneventful. The buffet lacked nothing, and it was constantly replenished. Absolutely delicious!

Hello, I can't give it a good rating yet because I booked a room and unfortunately I have to cancel it. I have asked for cancellation confirmation several times since September 19th and have called several times, but still nothing. That means that if I don't go on the trip, I have to pay - so, I don't know the Dorint chain like that. I was also lucky enough to get a woman on the phone once who said it might take a while, but after writing three times and calling twice, something must be wrong. Then, as in my case, it's better to stay away.

A bottle of water is provided in the room as a welcome gift, as well as a drink voucher for two people at the bar. The city center, as well as many sights, are a 15-minute walk away.

A beautiful and wonderful hotel. My wife and I have been visiting Potsdam for years and have tried many hotels, but none are better than the Dorint Sanssouci. A wonderful experience.

Overall, the hotel was good. The breakfast buffet was excellent. In the evening, you could also have a buffet, but for €39, which we found a bit too much. What was completely unacceptable, and something we haven't experienced at any other hotel, was that we had to pay extra for the pool, which was also communicated to us in a very unfriendly manner.

The hotel's location is great; basically everything is close by: Sanssouci, Alexandrowka, the Old Town, etc. Breakfast was very good and varied. However, for the price, we expected more. The bathroom in the room smelled unpleasant and the room was very cold. The staff did quickly take care of a functioning air conditioning. It was very disappointing that the pool apparently wasn't working, especially for the two days we were there. We were there with our young son, and we were told that children weren't allowed in the spa area after 6 p.m. However, as we left the hotel, another employee told us that the pool had actually been working the day before and that it was allowed if accompanied by a parent. Outrageously unfriendly to children!

We stayed at the Dorint Hotel in Potsdam for three nights and were very satisfied. We were particularly impressed by the friendly service at the reception and the excellent breakfast buffet. The wide selection (including a pancake machine) and the quality of the diverse food on offer left nothing to be desired. A small refrigerator in the room might be desirable for the warmer months, but the lack of one didn't bother us during our stay. Overall, it was a great short break in Potsdam in a beautiful hotel. If we're in Potsdam again, we'll definitely be back!

I have no idea what a hotel needs to achieve 4 stars. If it offers a top central location, a rich breakfast buffet, friendly staff, large and quiet rooms, a great underground garage where you can easily store your bikes, and an overall pleasant ambiance, then it's definitely worthy of 4 stars. We felt very comfortable and can recommend the hotel. The only criticisms are the outdated showers and the toilet cleaning service. Using chlorine every now and then works wonders.

Everything was perfect, even very suitable for guests with dogs, even though the room is carpeted. Great location! Everything is easily accessible by bus, and also on foot for those with good mobility.
