Great location, friendly staff. Especially the two gentlemen at the reception. They made our short trip even better with tips and suggestions. The breakfast was excellent. There was something for every taste. The price for breakfast was a bit high, and the underground parking wasn't exactly cheap, but like everywhere else. We'd be happy to come back.

Always super nice. Friendly, clean, and pleasant. Easter was wonderful and child-friendly. On Easter Sunday, the children found lots of Easter eggs. It was a successful short Easter trip!!!

The room seemed shabby and was dusty. We found the underground parking fees to be very high. The front desk staff, while friendly, failed to provide important information. Breakfast was good but difficult to find a seat even at 7:30am. Overall, the price-performance ratio did not meet our expectations.

Not for “villagers” who are used to sleeping with their windows open. Windows cannot be opened, air conditioning. Otherwise very clean, friendly and helpful staff and convenient location. Parking space in the underground car park 25.00 EUR/day, not even free for disabled people.

Good location in Potsdam and that's it for those who want to relax for a few days - certainly enough for short trips or business trips. The room was quite large - the street is very close if you have windows on the street side - unfortunately too loud. No kettle, no glasses, no fridge. The mattress was very soft, as was the pillow - we both had back pain afterwards - 2 days. Spa area far too small for the size of the hotel, 90 degree sauna didn't work - reported 3 times, looked at 3 times by the staff, didn't help - it was just cold. The breakfast was good, only the vegetables were not completely fresh - from the day before. The hotel did not meet our expectations. We were in Dorint on Rügen and the two hotels can hardly be compared. Too bad.

Highly recommended . We were in Potsdam for a short visit and we will definitely be back.

Everything was great, great wellness area, great service

Let's start with the service, really top, very friendly and attentive, answered every question as best as possible and was very helpful. Our room was excellent, even though the main street is in front of the hotel, you hardly hear any traffic. Now to the breakfast buffet, I've never had so much choice at breakfast before - there was everything but really everything was A+. The location of the hotel is just right, you can get anywhere quickly on foot and the price-performance ratio is also right. We would be happy to come back and will definitely recommend you.

Unfortunately the hotel is not wheelchair accessible, it only has one wheelchair room, all other rooms have a bathtub. The restaurant only serves warmed-up food from a jar. The breakfast room is large, there is very little choice and only 3 slices each. The dishes are not cleared away promptly or at all. The furnishings of the rooms are old. Some staff at the reception have no knowledge. Wellness area for an additional charge, there are 2 saunas and a swimming pool, everything dirty. Not a place to relax.

It's a good place to sleep, and the breakfast is very good, but otherwise, there are nicer hotels in Potsdam. The staff shortage is noticeable.

Dorint with the usual quality! The only small minus point! No walk-in shower and the double bed does not have the usual quality from the Dorint Group! Not a box spring bed, very deep and falls apart at the slightest movement. Top breakfast, but everyone has to decide for themselves whether €25 per person is right. We think it's a bit high! As a Dorint customer it's ok, but this house is not as harmonious as the other Dorint houses we have experienced so far.

A really good hotel. However, it wasn't possible to get snacks after midnight; the minibar only contained water. Check-in was difficult, as previously stated requests, such as late check-out, were apparently unavailable due to full bookings. Was it possible to book an additional day, though? The hotel is very large, with long walks. Unfortunately, for a 4-star hotel, this is the only rating I can give, as I've stayed in 3-star hotels that were significantly better, or even 4-star hotels that were far above that. The rooms are very clean, though. €25 for breakfast is, in my opinion, completely overpriced, as is the price for the underground parking garage. The location, however, is unbeatable.

Nice hotel, mainly seen as a business hotel. Very friendly staff and families with small children are also looked after very well. Breakfast buffet with a large selection. It was always refilled quickly and freshly.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days for work. The first impression of the room was quite good. But then I took a closer look and was a bit horrified. The radiator in the bathroom where the fresh towels were hanging was completely rusted, the armchair had some white spots that I don't want to know what caused the spots. The cupboard in which the refrigerator was (supposed and non-existent minibar) was dusty and had not been cleaned for a long time. The drain in the bathroom sink was completely blocked and unhygienic! The overflow was completely moldy. The cupboards were scratched and the wardrobe could hardly be opened because it was completely stuck. Above the passage into the room there was a board similar to a shelf. This was totally dusty. Bathrobe (which is part of the minimum standard for 4 *) is only available for a fee. Glass panes on the desk were completely dirty! All in all a pretty run down room!! According to the booking it should be a comfort room! The room wasn't cleaned once during my stay! When checking out there was no "have a nice trip or how was your stay" The hotel doesn't even come close to being 4*Superior!!! The only good thing was the breakfast.

Opinion of a business traveler: Was there for a 2-day workshop with colleagues from the company. There are several seminar rooms - the hotel is known as a conference location - which can be booked from small to large to suit the occasion. The service was great and friendly. The food offering is extensive, from buffets to small snacks. The rooms are not (anymore) at the top level. Minor flaws in the bathroom and room, mini-TV from before 2010 etc., but sufficiently large and quite well insulated - important since the hotel is located at a noisy intersection. Location is well suited for both private and business use. Downtown Potsdam can be reached in 10 minutes on foot. A bus stop is right next to the hotel.

I recommend the Dorint Hotel wholeheartedly. The location in the center of Potsdam is simply ideal - between Sanssouci Palace and Cecilienhof Palace, surrounded by the charming Alexandrowka and the picturesque Dutch Quarter. All of these attractions are within easy walking distance. But it's not just the first-class location and comfort that make this hotel so special, but above all the excellent team. With their warm hospitality, their competent service and always a smile on their faces, they ensure that your stay at the Dorint is a luxurious experience.

PROs: Clean rooms, sheets, towels. Great water pressure with perfect hot water. There is a fridge (empty), no kettle. Even it is located nearby the road, pretty good sound isolation. CONs: Stayed in the middle of January, -2 outside. Quickly found out that AC didn't work. Informed the reception, immediately checked by house keeping, and ended up with a small portable heater which cannot be able to heat the whole room instead of a room change. Room service is there, but it isn't. You need to order and go down to pick your order.

We only had a short stay, but the hotel immediately made a good impression. Shortcoming, there were no bathrobes available.

It was ok, we were here with family. I didn’t like the fact that i have to pay in order to use the pool, but no complaints here - I knew it when we booked and I don’t hold it against the hotel. The location is 15 minutes walk from old city center, not too bad, but not in the center. The room was a wee bit old, it was clean with spacious bathroom but it lacked coffee or tee maker. Breakfast was very good. Generally speaking it is a good hotel for conventions but average for family vacation.

The rooms needed a renovation. Poor soundproofing on windows, I heard every drop of rain on the windowsill.

My wife took a little break from me with her best friend ;-) and both ladies had a lovely weekend in Potsdam with the sunniest weather on the 1st of Advent. The hotel has an absolutely great location, many sights are within walking distance, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Unfortunately the staff at breakfast was severely understaffed, but those present did their best. Really big, big respect and thank you very much for that!!! We are happy to recommend the hotel and will definitely come back.

We had booked rooms for our children and grandchildren. The children really enjoyed it and the grandchildren both went to sleep with their “Dori bears” that they had received when they checked in. There’s an extra plus point for that!! We were thrilled with the great breakfast buffet; no wish was left unfulfilled.

We paid a considerable amount of money for our stay but some acts of the hotel was so cheap and degrading like: - hotel asks you to pay 5 euro for using the pool that it was supposed to be on the price. - for using towels we had to pay another 10 euros!!! - for using the parking that belonged to hotel we paid 15 euros per night. It was odd cause it was not a public parking and it was hotel’s parking which was supposed to be free for guests. - Room’s equipment was too old. Nice things about hotel were the breakfast and swimming pool.

Very nice hotel with excellent breakfast and first-class service

The rooms are very large and spacious, clean and tidy. A socket next to the bed was damaged and therefore at least a risk of injury, possibly even life-threatening, so I decided not to test it. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, definitely full marks here. But the fact that 5 hours after I arrived and wanted to spend another night in the hotel I received the message that they thanked me for my stay and wished me a safe journey home was strange... The breakfast is quite simple and average hotel breakfast. Here 25 euros is definitely excessive. I've had better breakfasts for half the price. But the hotel staff were able to raise the rating significantly to 4 stars! Hold on to your people, they are good. 😊

Rooms are okay but not very good for Dorint standards. Didn't have a mini bar, toothpaste, power outlet on one side of the bed and a light didn't work.

Large hotel in the best location for exploring Potsdam. Underground car park also suitable for large cars without maneuvering. Pool and sauna access is available for a small additional charge. Definitely worth it. Breakfast offers everything that goes with it, but is overcrowded at rush hour. Drinks at reception a bit overpriced for the night.

We have been coming to the hotel in Potsdam regularly for 16 years and have noticed a continuous deterioration and increasing prices. There used to be a steam bath, whirlpool, counter-current system and a tepidarium, but everything has been discontinued. Recently, however, there is an extra fee for the sauna and pool, as well as a fee for bathrobes, which is embarrassing. The staff at the reception are always friendly and committed. Don't expect too much beyond standard phrases. Criticism is reacted sensitively. For the first time in our many worldwide travels, we lost items from the room at the Dorint Potsdam. The breakfast buffet is still very good, but savings have been and are being made there too. The staff there are very nice and have mostly been there for many years. Anyone who visits the Dorint for the first time may be satisfied. Anyone who knows the hotel from before will be disappointed. Instead of 4 stars, unfortunately only second class. We're looking for an alternative. Too bad.

Good hotel for a city tour! Clean, large rooms. Very good reception staff. Breakfast buffet very extensive and varied. The hotel bar is open every day and you can also eat snacks there. However, we cannot recommend the evening buffet for 39 euros, little boring selection and not hot. You can eat tastier and cheaper in the city!

It's a huge complex but still cozy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very extensive and very good. Since there is a sauna and swimming pool, the price-performance ratio is ok. The hotel is located quite centrally. I would book it again.

How do I start? The hotel is in a very good location. All sights are almost within walking distance. Unfortunately, the service is and remains Dorint. Despite the Dorint card, no early check in, no late check out and no better category. Reception, cold and unfriendly. Arrived with three people. We pay for three people and there was exactly one small bottle of water in the room. When we asked whether we should share it, the unfriendly answer was that it was Dorint Standard. Sounds a bit strange, but the lady is right. Unfortunately.

I made a booking online and stayed 2 nights. But I'm very disappointed because the hotel is very old and the staff is very unfriendly and barely understand German. Although we had chosen our booking online with breakfast, the person on site wanted 25 euros per person per day for it. My recommendation is Potsdam but never this hotel again.

Very nice reception. We were recommended parking spaces for our very tall car because all of them in the hotel were full and the underground car park would be too low. That helped a lot👍

Nice hotel and the buffet was good.

Very nice, considerate staff. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. Due to the size of the breakfast room, the background noise is very high. The room we stayed in exudes 90s charm. Generous, bright but not loving. Just a conference hotel. Television, already a flat screen with a good picture, but of the first generation. The beds are unreasonable, far too soft and there is no question of a good, restful sleep. We didn't use the spa offer and therefore there is no statement about it.

A recommended hotel with good storage. The family room had two bedrooms, a large walk-in closet and a bathroom with a bathtub. The body hygiene items were from Rituals. In the basement there was a spa, sauna and a pool (fee per person €2.50, children up to 11 years had free entry) Parking spaces were available in the underground car park for a price of €25/24h parking. The large breakfast buffet was also recommended.

The hotel is close to the castle park, but the old town is also within walking distance. There is an underground car park; you should inquire about the current price in advance. The room furnishings are older, but well-kept and clean. Personally, I like this as modern facilities hardly offer any storage space. There are wardrobes, hangers!!!, storage space in the bathroom, etc. There is also a safe and a small refrigerator. We found the breakfast offering to be complete. Everything is there and delicious. Considering the number of guests who checked in with us, the breakfast room was very large, crowded and therefore noisy. The cleanliness of the stairwell was noticed negatively. It looked like it wasn't even cleaned between arrival (Thursday) and departure (Sunday). That didn't fit with the rest of the impression. All the employees we came into contact with were very friendly.

Seems to be getting old. Positive things first: In contrast to other reviewers here, the breakfast service on Sunday morning was excellent. House seemed fully booked. Finally thermos flasks on the tables again, so that a lot of the pressure was taken away from the coffee machines (I always get upset about the queues in other hotels). And . . there are tablets in the rooms. With information. However, these could still be expanded. Otherwise: Check in: although there was nothing going on (12:00 noon), the colleague behind the counter was very busy with a few receipts. And he made no move to greet us. Very ignorant. Beer bar is closed. No information in advance. Sauna and bathrobe are charged extra. “We are not a wellness hotel” he could have saved himself the saying. And then on Sunday morning the sauna was out. At 9:30 a.m. According to the plan, it will be in operation from 8 a.m. So you stand there in your bathrobe, walk to the house phone and... . .. . . no one to reach. I wanted to call the reception, but it didn't answer. .because there were no numbers. I was very disappointed. So we got dressed and left. I have had many good experiences with Dorint in the past. Mainly because of the service, room quality and various add ons. Unfortunately, apparently only masses of tourists are being let through. 4 stars ?? Not like that!! Addendum: According to the answer from the hotel: You really could have saved yourself this standard blah blah. If a reply, then a precise statement on the criticism. This only reinforces the impression of bad management!!

Very well located, I wouldn't come back for breakfast, but it was OK.

Everything's ok, but next time I won't be here again. A hotel couldn't be more impersonal. The icing on the cake was that in the small print you actually found that the swimming pool had to be paid for separately. Spa, although this term is completely out of place.

I find the price of underground parking too high, even as a guest with parking fees of €25 per day. Rooms are a bit noisy and are getting old. The beds are extremely soft... Equipment: There was a hairdryer and a tablet for service in the room. The air conditioning was extremely loud. Breakfast: Goes better... No assignment to a table... after asking you were only told in an unfriendly manner that you should be patient. You could tell that it was stressful on the holiday... but you shouldn't let the guest feel that way The buffet itself was very rich and there was also fresh fried eggs. However, the hotel cannot keep up with the number of guests. Here, too, there was no information about this when checking in. Countless masses of people, crowded together at the buffet. I wouldn't check in here again.

In my opinion, the hotel doesn't deserve 4 stars (I didn't use the spa area and didn't rate it accordingly). The always friendly service made up for it, but the room's best days were behind it. The cleanliness was so-so, a bit of mold in the bathroom, narrow bathtub for showering with no space directly under the jet... I stayed overnight twice as part of a conference and was also able to attend breakfast and dinner. Both rather lower standard, always the same, sometimes sparsely stocked and not enough access for the large crowds. In my opinion, the warm food is only worth 1 star, hardly seasoned, pasta overcooked, fish partly raw. Too bad.

A fantastic stay from September 20th to 22nd. at Dorint Sanssouci! Beautiful, modern room, top breakfast and very attentive and accommodating staff at reception!!! Therefore from me 5***** We will definitely come back!

Highly recommended hotel. The rooms are well equipped, comfortable, well-kept and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel's own bar is very trendy.

Unfortunately a total failure. The air in the room is stuffy and it doesn't smell pleasant. Unfortunately you can't open the windows. The light in the bathroom is broken and flickers. They didn't want to give us another room - it was fully booked. And that even though rooms could still be booked online for that night. This is not okay given the room price

I recently stayed at the Dorint Hotel Venusberg in Bonn and was very happy there after I wasn't thrilled with the Dorint Essential in Frankfurt, but wasn't particularly dissatisfied either. All of this has now been clearly surpassed by the Dorint Hotel in Potsdam. The service at reception was great, as you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The room is large, clean and well furnished. Bed very good with good pillows. Breakfast great! Very large selection, really good quality (it's rare to get such perfectly fried bacon with very good scrambled eggs) and waitresses who know and seem to like their craft. Unfortunately, this has become rare, which is why I mention it here. The location is good, about 10 minutes walk from the very beautiful old town and 20 minutes from Sanssouci. There is only criticism for the expensive underground car park. I found 25€ for one night expensive. Parking was cheaper in Bonn. So Dorint is now my favorite hotel chain. Congratulations ;)

The hotel is well located for a city tour. We wanted a room away from the street and got it. Unfortunately the view is not very nice, we looked at roofs. Otherwise, the price-performance ratio was good and the service was also ok, although at breakfast you had the feeling that the staff were sometimes a bit overwhelmed. But something really surprised and annoyed me. I left my watch in the room when I left. I only noticed this after 3 days and only a call from me confirmed the forgetfulness. The question arises: Why didn't the hotel inform me about the lost property by phone or email? But if you think that the found item will then be sent, you are wrong. A form had to be filled out and sent to a company by email. I had to pay €13.99 for this!!!!! transfer, then I received my watch. Everything is extremely complicated and I think it's outrageously expensive and not customer-oriented. I think the parking fee of €25 per night is completely excessive for hotel guests.

The hotel is great, but what's a shame is the restaurant, which needs to be thought about changing. The range of offerings leaves a lot to be desired. Breakfast was very plentiful, very tasty and a great selection, so why only at breakfast? Rooms great, nice and quiet and clean. There are many excursions nearby from the hotel. We stayed there for one night in August. The hotel is getting old. The air conditioning in our room didn't work, surfaces were dusty and there were items from previous tenants under the bed. The pool is far too small for the size of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was about the standard of a 4 star hotel.

The pool and location were great. Breakfast rather average. Large selection but bread rolls, coffee too thin, everything else ok. Room dusty, toilet dirty and then broke after two days. It was only repaired after repeated requests. Everything is getting old. This is not a four star hotel and we won't be coming back!

Large hotel, the rooms are a bit old and unfortunately the air conditioning doesn't work.... However, when I asked, a fan was brought into my room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all great.

Hello We have now stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, the hotel and breakfast buffet were great. Unfortunately we took advantage of the grill buffet on Saturday evening. I have been working as a cook and head chef for 40 years, including for Dorint. If I had ever organized such a barbecue buffet I would be ashamed. Take 10€ more and offer a little more variety. No starters 5-6 different unimaginative salads (leaf salad, cucumber salad, potato-cucumber salad, carrot strips, tomatoes. Desserts watermelon, buttermilk dessert, Muffin cut into 0.5 x 0.5cm. It's a shame that the catering industry is so neglected. Meat (turkey, veal, pork neck, bratwurst) were super fried and there was also whole scampi with the skin on. There were 500 breakfast guests in the house, of which there were a maximum of 30 guests at the barbecue buffet on Saturday evening. As a hotel management, don't you ask yourself why? Changing towels every day doesn't actually have to be necessary.

And the hotel can be rated as good on its own, but a 4 star requires a little more according to German standards Nevertheless, the staff tried hard. Wow such a great hotel I was very impressed and my parents too I can highly recommend it. You shouldn't miss breakfast, there is really something for everyone, including lactose-free milk, oat milk, soy milk. Scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fried eggs - it really has it all. The best hotel I've ever seen 👌

Everything that characterizes a 4 star hotel! The location, not too close to/in the center, but easily accessible on foot. The underground car park is spacious, bright and monitored by cameras. There is a bucket and wiper for cleaning the windshield, as well as a jug with water. Three elevators take you to the lobby or the room floor. The cleanliness is excellent! The greeting at reception is friendly yet professional. The rooms invite you to linger. If you want, you can get a kettle in your room. The breakfast buffet is worth every cent! Friendly and very helpful staff are immediately there when you need them. Weather permitting, you can sit on the terrace. The bar, which is open until midnight and also has a terrace, is staffed by professional staff who are just as friendly and helpful as those in the entire hotel! As a wheelchair user, everything was easily accessible for me, including my “normal room”! The only criticism for me is the lack of a disabled-accessible toilet in the lobby, and that the house only has one disabled-accessible room. (Still, everything was fine for me!) Thank you to everyone who made my stay so pleasant! I recommend the house with a clear conscience! Thank you! I will definitely come back!

So we were wedding guests there for 2 nights. The room was large and bright, but unfortunately very dusty. They probably hadn't cleaned there for a while. But the breakfast and the incredibly friendly staff made up for it all. The food in the restaurant was really fresh and delicious! We had 2 great days and would come back at any time.

Very good breakfast A1. Unfortunately, exorbitant prices for parking. Which I could only clarify with a phone call. It wasn't visible on my booking or on the website. Just like the pool and sauna. Pay everything extra again. Why isn't this known in advance? Rip-off mentality. All fire doors were open, best of all, on every door it was written that it was forbidden to keep them open. Luckily it didn't burn.

This was our third time, no matter whether it's a double room or a suite, it's always great. However, the bicycle parking space in the underground car park should be expanded to include another vehicle parking space in the summer months, there is not enough space.
