Mosthendl Wirt in Traunstein

The food is of good quality, but I'd consider it more of a snack bar, and the ambiance is a bit dated. All in all, though, it's highly recommended.

We were there on July 13, 2025. The food was very good.

The food is very tasty. We often go there for a burger.

The menu doesn't match the dish: The fried chicken is breaded, low-quality chicken pieces. The difference between Viennese "fried" chicken and Italian "fried" chicken is 20g of grated "Parmesan" cheese. The most striking difference is the two 30g "sauces." The so-called "herb yogurt sauce" is simply mayo, the other indefinable sauce was quite fine. In any case, I now feel like I've consumed more 20 cents/liter of frying oil than there was chicken in the dish. The "saffron" 🤣🤣 basmati rice was barely rice. Not sure.... Salt... A foreign word. A distinctive taste: "What's that?" The delivery was prompt. Respect for that! €30 for high cholesterol. If you want to gain weight and don't mind indulgence, this is definitely the place for you. I wonder if they eat like this every day in Nepal? I actually suspect that the 🍔 and the salad are no different in appearance or taste from the fattening food we were served. Next time, I'll go for a vegetarian kebab without vegetables; it tastes better.

Unfortunately it's now a total mess. We ordered by phone and the website said delivery service from €15. The delivery service no longer exists. We wanted to order using a voucher book, but that wasn't possible. The landlord had said that we had to order at least two drinks. Of course, something like that is only said after the order and preparation. In addition, the prices on the website are out of date. Everything costs about €5 more. And the icing on the cake: the dishes are also decorated differently. Salads are no longer included. But you only notice this when you unpack the order at home. After we called to ask why there were no side dishes or salads as stated on the menu and we had also ordered on the phone, we were told that the menu online had not been correct for 4 years and that you couldn't change that because you had already wanted to close a few times but couldn't get out of the contract. But you don't feel like it anymore anyway and salads are no longer served with the food. The “dips” that you get with Nepalese dishes are no longer Nepalese as before, but rather packaged mayo and ketchup. The quality of the food was OK. But we paid around €10 more than we ordered with the online menu on their website and we didn't have the salads with us as stated on the website. This is extremely annoying. We tried to discuss this on site and then on the phone. Instead of accommodating us, we were told stupidly that it wasn't your problem and that's just the way it is now. Normally you expect a price reduction or at least information that one or the other is not included. Or an apology or something. But as I said, nothing was done and dismissed as “they wanted to close soon anyway”

We received a voucher book for Christmas. It also included a voucher for the Mosthendlwirt in Traunstein. We wanted to have a nice evening, so we tried the restaurant. We arrived at 6 p.m. and there was no one there except us. For starters, we had an Asian vegetable soup, which was very good. For main course, we had the Braumeister Burger, which was actually very nicely presented but unfortunately dry, with no sauce inside, a small breaded pork schnitzel, a lettuce leaf, and a tomato. It was served with fries with mayo and ketchup. For our second main course, we had Nepalese grilled chicken with pieces of chicken breast and vegetables, in a can of red curry peppers, and basmati rice. The dish was very nicely presented, but the flavor wasn't impressive. The restaurant was very poorly heated and therefore uncomfortable. Not one other guest joined us during our entire time there!

A truly fantastic restaurant with amazing food. Can't say anything negative. :) The prices are great, and the portion sizes are more than adequate. I'll be back.

The price/performance ratio is right. The food tastes good. There's always room. The service seems a bit sad, but otherwise, it's a lovely place.

When you go in you first have to pass the toilets, although the anteroom smelled very unpleasant. The restaurant itself is quite large, but my girlfriend and I were still the only guests there on a Saturday afternoon. That's why we heard and later tasted that the french fries and rice had certainly been prepared and/or warmed up in the microwave, and I was pretty sure that my grilled chicken had also been cooked. The ambience is very rustic, but more on the dark side and we weren't 100% convinced of the cleanliness either.

The Mosthendl restaurant is a great place. Bavarian cuisine with a touch of Asian flair, it's delicious! For example, the chicken with a cheese crust, it's amazing! The prices are on the higher end, but not overly expensive. Parking is available nearby, and you can sit outside in the summer.

The food was okay. The appetizer salad was a disgrace. The pre-packaged dressing and the chicken wings were also frozen. (Two people said so, I didn't eat them). The meat platter was good, though, and a decent portion. The Italian-inspired fried chicken is advertised with a Parmesan coating. Unfortunately, they took the easy way out and served it with a regular coating and a few strips of Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. A real shame. We went there because of the coupon book; they recommended making a reservation. But there were only two other tables occupied with us. Very strange opening hours (close at 8:30 p.m.) The restrooms were locked while the restaurant was open. So we won't be back. Maybe we'll order from there again, but we definitely won't eat there again.

All I'm telling you is, don't buy food here. The owner talks about juicy grilled chicken, but you get bone-dry food that's barely edible (the wings were gnarly, hard, chewy, and tasted disgusting). I'll never order anything from you again. Not worth a cent!! And thanks for the stomach cramps, you should be sued... it was horrible, and the stomachaches afterwards... every diner can make a better grilled chicken. This is my second order here and definitely the last. The first one was already terrible, but you topped it this time 👍

So the food was really good! Unfortunately the menus are from the day before yesterday and something..... The landlady was apparently ill and in a bad mood. (understandable if you still have to work) All in all, it can be improved.

Wir haben hier zum liefern bestellt, Lieferservice war sehr freundlich und nett, keine Frage aber die angekommenen Burger…ich bin kein Mensch der beim Essen empfindlich ist, ich esse eigentlich alles aber die Burger waren nicht gut. Die Pommes waren super, die kann ich auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

There was a loud argument in the kitchen, so eating in peace was not possible. Some of the food was dry and the burger bread wasn't toasted so everything fell apart. We were five couples and he only gave us one bill even though we all wanted to pay extra. When we calculated everything at home, we realized that he had overcharged us. So it's all very disappointing.

Unfortunately not good… the fries were ok, but the burger was dry. The chicken chaumeen tasted like noodles with ketchup sauce... no trace of vegetables! It also smelled funny, so we ended up having to throw it away. At this price it hurts even more... the chicken wings are probably the frozen ones from the supermarket and are very overpriced... so it's better to stay away from this restaurant!

A very quaint inn. The waitress was there when we ordered but immediately disappeared again. The menu also needs to be updated and made clearer. The food tasted very good and was also very nicely prepared. The selection of drinks is also very diverse, especially the musts are very good. Price performance was also very good.

I always like to order here because I like the food here very much. Whether you're going to work or coming home, the food always comes very quickly. The owners are also really kind-hearted people. The only negative point, which isn't actually a negative point, is that sometimes after eating you are so full and satiated that you no longer feel like working or moving. What I find a bit of a shame, however, is that there are no longer the homemade sauces for the farmer fries that they used to be. My all-time favorite here is the giant beef burger, but there are many other dishes here that taste very good. Burgers are all good. The veggie burger is also very good. Wings and the other chicken dishes are also great. Prices are okay. I always like to order here again.

The Mosthendl Wirt is located somewhat hidden in Traunstein. We actually only became aware of the voucher book. We were the only guests today, despite it being a holiday Friday. It was quite dark and we didn't even know whether we could have dinner here. The landlady puts the emptiness into perspective by referring to the holidays. I thought the inn should be full of holidaymakers, especially during the holidays. But regardless, we wanted to give it a chance. Goaß, Spezi, Hendlschmaus and a grilled burger were ordered. The waiting time was relatively short, and the landlord was now there. The food itself was okay. Unfortunately, it's a bit carelessly done. A small portion of salad, coleslaw or even potato salad would have obviously been good for the chicken feast. The same goes for the burger. A small side salad and things get better. After paying, the landlady pockets the money (including the tip) and leaves without a word. You can do it like that, but you don't!

The food was very good, absolutely fair prices. The landlord very friendly. Small restaurant, but cozy.

Der Burger mit Hähnchen war richtig lecker.

Essen geht so. ich hatte Burger mit Pommes. Da kann man nicht viel falsch machen... Jedes Mal wenn wir da sind ist eigentlich nichts los. Die gaststube ist wirklich nicht sehr gemütlich. Das Personal auch nicht besonders freundlich. Die Toilette .besser man geht noch Zuhause.

Wir waren heute hier beim Essen. Es war sehr gut und frisch.

Die Gerichte dort schmecken sehr gut und die Bedienung ist nett!👍

Waren schon öfters dort. Gaststätte ist sauber. Das Essen gut und günstig. Wir werden wieder kommen. Im Gegensatz zu überlaufenen Wirtschaften in der Gegend ist das hier eine sehr gute Alternative.

Leider geschmacklich absolut nix besonderes :( Machte schon fast einen alten - gammeligen Eindruck…. Die Preise für die kleinen Portionen und das schlechte Essen sind auch Wucher! :O Dann lieber Zum Höllbräu oder Aubräu :)

Essen war ok, schade das es kein fried chicken gibt. Verstehe nicht wie man sowas nicht anbietet. Das Händl Wiener Art ist nix besonderes. Dann lieber KFC

Der Mosthendl Wirt ist schon was besonderes. Die Gerichte sind ganz anders, als "nur Backhendl". Hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Gaststätte ist irgendwie anders, als gewohnt. Der Service könnte etwas besser sein (haben lange auf das zweite Getränk gewartet). Ist auf alle Fälle einen Besuch wert.

Das Essen ist super lecker, sehr schnelle Lieferung und wirklich nettes Personal. Echt spitze, gerne wieder und vielen Dank!!!!

Freundlich, Essen gut, Lokation zum draussen sitzen ist eher nix.

Das Essen war sehr sehr lecker. Der Service war nicht so toll... Die Damentoilette sollte mehr Beachtung bekommen vom Personal. Gemütlichkeit ist irgendwo verloren gegangen und wenn man den Gastraum betritt, findet man rechts eine Büroecke vor .Nicht sehr einladend.

Und wieder ein tolles Abendessen. Diesmal der Burger. Mmmmmmm und die Beilagen waren top.Der Service wie immer sehr freundlich und kompetent. Wir gehen immer wieder sehr gerne hin. Und der Mosthendl wird verdient das Prädikat KINDERFREUNDLICH.

Absolut Griabige Wirtschaft! Klein und fein so wie ich es mag🖤 Sehr leckeres asiatisch-boarisches Essen mit viel Liebe zubereitet und mehr als preiswert. Wer besonderes will is hier richtig. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!

Nepal trifft Hähnchen. Ausgezeichnete nepalesische Küche vereint mit österreichisch/bayerischem Hendl. Der Besuch war ein Glückstreffer, wir wollten eigentlich Pizzaessen gehen, doch der Italiener hatte zu. Zum Glück: haben selten so gut und zudem noch preiswert gegessen. Sehr durchdachtes Konzept!

Super leckererer Mittagstisch für 5,50€. Chicken Curry mit Reis, sehr zu empfehlen.

Nicht außergewöhnlich aber auch nicht schlecht. Für Familien und kleine Gruppen geeignet.

Chickencurry vom Mittagsmenü mit Suppe für 5,90€. Hat geschmeckt und war für den Preis definitiv ok.

Sehr gelungene Kombination von bayerischer und nepalesischer Küche. Raffinierte Backhendlvariationen und sehr gelungene bayerisch asiatische Hendlsuppe. Auch genügend vegetarische Speisen zieren die Speisekarte. Das alles wird zu einem sehr fairen Preis angeboten. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Die Ausrichtung auf Hühnergerichte spiegelt sich nicht nur in der Speisekarte wieder sonder auch in lustiger Deko im Gastraum. Sicher will man nicht dauernd nur Geflügelgerichte essen, aber als Abwechslung zu bekannten Restaurant-Konzepten (traditionell, italienisch, chinesisch,...) ist das lokal allemal zu empfehlen, und das nicht nur ABends sonder auch in seiner guten Preisleistung zu Mittag. Familien mit Kindern sind hier gut und preislich akzeptabel aufgehoben, aber auch derjenige, der ein pikantes nepalesisches Curry möchte. Tip - eventuell den prämierten Schnaps/Likör aus Saalfelden probieren, die freundlichen Wirtsleute erklären gerne die Herkunft.

Wiederbelebtes Traunsteiner Wirtshaus in traditionellem Design mit nepalesisch österreichischem Konzept, Insgesamt betrachtet gut bürgerlich mit einer Speisekarte von Gerichten basierend auf Hühnerfleisch. Sehr lecker und empfehlenswert ist der Chicken-Burger. Freundlicher aufmerksamer Service durch den Chef selbst, der sehr um seine Gäste bemüht ist.

Nach langem Leerstand wieder belebt in sehr schön renovierten Räumlichkeit. Hauptmerkmal auf Hähnchengerichten.

...ist dieses kleine Lokal. In der Vergangenheit bei den alten Wirtsleuten von den Einheimischen geliebt. Heute betreibt eine Familie aus Nepal dieses Haus, die viele Jahre im Salzburgischen Land gelebt hat. So spiegelt sich die österreichische Küche auch in der Speisekarte wider, z. B. Backhendl mit knuspriger Panade und 'Vogerl' Salat. Das Essen, frisch aufgekocht mit knackigem Gemüse, war schmackhaft und als Mittagsmenue reichlich und preiswert (€ 5,90 Rahmsuppe und HühnerCurry). Der Espresso vom Dinzler allerdings hätte besser ausfallen können, zu viel Wasser und damit vom Geschmack eher mit einem Filterkaffee vergleichbar. Hingehen und verweilen, du wirst es nicht bereuen.

Schön, dass im Mostwirt wieder Leben eingekehrt ist. Und dann auch noch so vitales Leben. Es wird eine Mischung aus nepalesischen Einflüssen und Backhendl serviert, die in allen Ausprägungen lecker ist und nicht nach Tiefkühlkost ausschaut. Die Karte ist zwar etwas übersichtlich, aber dafür sind die wesentlichen Hähnchenprodukte dabei. Einzig für Vegetarier könnte das ein oder andere Gericht mehr dabei sein. Das wird dann aber wieder durch die wirklich humanen Preise wettgemacht. Definitiv hingehen und anstädiges Essen genießen.
