Monrepos Hütte in Ludwigsburg

I liked it a lot and special thanks to my very friendly condition. I was there for coffee and cake and dinner.

Rustic hut, just something different on the Monrepos domain. Food as quaint as it is rustic, but delicious. Not necessarily for Weightwatcher number fans :-) Staff open-minded, everyone will find something on the drinks menu.

Delicious food, very friendly staff and a very cozy atmosphere. Two side dishes (chips and mushrooms) were a bit salty. I'll point it out next time. But otherwise everything was fine. Fast and attentive service and the food was also beautifully prepared. Prices with drinks per person are around 35 euros. Thank you!

Apart from the dessert, the other food didn't taste that good. But that is a matter of taste.

Somewhere in the Alps this would probably pass for a "rustic" hut... in the heart of Swabia it looks like a fake Vegetarian options were only available at our Christmas party upon request and then in so-so quality. The insulation is extremely poor, alternately sauna or foot (ice) cold - here the energy is blown out through the walls. At least the service was friendly and attentive

Super tasty and plentiful schnitzel pan. Very good value for money. Very cozy hut. We'll be back.

My wife and I enjoy visiting restaurants, cafes and bars. We have made it our mission to evaluate these according to certain aspects. Today Monrepo's hut 1. Ambience A rustic wooden hut, beautifully and idyllicly located. There is a nice beer garden outside, but it will not be visited today and will not be rated. It's a bit gloomy inside, but that's not a bad thing. It's cozy and quaint. However, it was very crowded when we visited and therefore relatively loud. 2. Cleanliness There was nothing wrong with the cleanliness of the tables and hut. 3. Service Unfortunately we have to give this a grade of 6. For this reason we can give a maximum of 2 stars in the overall rating. We were in a group of 14 people and registered there for coffee and cake for a birthday party. The orders were taken quickly and the cake was also served quickly. We were told that the coffee machine was broken, so it would be difficult to make cappuccinos etc. as they would have to be fetched from the neighboring restaurant. So we all ordered “normal” coffee. But unfortunately these coffees were delivered with extreme delay and one at a time. The cakes had long since been eaten and there were only 2 cups on the table. A few of our group didn't get their coffee until the end. It was all the more surprising that cappuccino and latte macchiato were served at the neighboring table. The two young service staff were obviously extremely overwhelmed by the overall situation and the completely full hut. We wanted to at least order milk and sugar with our coffee (which should be a given) and the waitress actually only brought two of these small, packaged coffee milk jars for the entire table. When we asked again, she brought us a few more. Cold drinks were ordered at the other table in our group. These were served without a glass. Even after repeated requests, no glasses were brought and eventually everyone drank from the bottle. Just like on the construction site. My wife was thirsty and since service was no longer expected at this point, we thought we could order something from the kiosk outside and have it added to the bill. Unfortunately, this was not possible, we were told. 4. Culinary The quality of the coffee was okay, as was the cake. However, there was a longer hair in my wife's cake. On the positive side, it must be mentioned that the pieces of cake were quite large. One had an onion cake. Unfortunately, this one was ice cold from the fridge, like the other cakes. I only know onion cake warm. Then it tastes good too. 5. Price / performance I don't know how much the birthday girl paid for everything. But the lady was visibly and embarrassed to have offered her guests such a bad coffee lunch. The excuse was that there were only two trainees in service today. That may be so. But then, as the head of the catering department, you can't burden these two trainees with something like that. That's why we don't blame the poor two trainees. They were completely overwhelmed and could have urgently needed support. If you don't have enough staff, you can't fill all the tables. And if the coffee machine is broken, then... As a restaurateur, you have to find a solution here too. That's really not my job anymore. Disclaimer Our contribution reflects our personal opinion based on our experience or experiences. Delicious food. In German, large portions. The hut is nicely decorated and wonderfully warm thanks to an external heater.

I was actually looking forward to a cozy afternoon. The hut is very nice, but unfortunately not heated. We sat there with a winter jacket and ate a cake that was also too cold. The service was friendly, but my coffee wasn't even empty I wanted to clear it away. Given this price-performance ratio, I would have expected something different. So unfortunately I can't recommend the Monrepos Hut.

Funny location, although the photos on the internet actually promised something different, but it was still nice. Service was, although stressful, super friendly and accommodating. However, I have to give negative points for the food. Although that might not be entirely fair, since I didn't eat my way through the entire menu. I/we had different pieces of cake and unfortunately not a piece of it was really tasty. But as everyone's tastes differ, everyone should (have to) find out for themselves. Since the cake wasn't exactly a revelation, I found the price a bit outrageous. On average 10 euros for a piece of frozen cake and 1 cup of coffee? 😳 My Swabian heart cried for a moment 🤣 I actually don't have to have it again.

Absolutely recommended, very friendly when dealing with customers and a good price/performance ratio. Rustic and cozy place to stop here after or before a walk around the lake to enjoy food and drinks!

Unfortunately, our post-Christmas company outing was a complete failure. The main courses were completely oversalted (in all 4 schnitzel pans) - this affected most components - chilli fries, schnitzel and vegetables. In addition, it was obviously ready-made schnitzel. Only the sour cream and guacamole were a highlight. Consuming additional drinks or dessert was no longer possible because we were the last guests (at 9 p.m.) and they wanted to close the hut early. The fan heater was far too warm (it was at least 30 degrees in the hut). There is no toilet in the hut - toilet use is possible in the hotel or the nearby restaurant. The only bright spot was the friendly and competent service. The waiter tried to make up for the conceptual errors with charm and a “spash on the house”.

Like a ski hut, simply classy and comfortable

Food was ok, but waiting time for a schnitzel with vegetables and fries was a good 1.5 hours! Sorry, that doesn't work at all.

Herrlich authentisch 🤩 Richtig schön gelegen in der Mitte der Domäne Monrepos. Sehr leckeres deftiges schwäbisches Essen. Und der Service sehr lustig und immer bemüht. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend

Lädt zum Spaziergang ein. Für die Familie super geeignet. Parkmöglichkeiten vor Ort. Ein Bus 🚌 hält direkt davor.

War wirklich super leckeres Essen. Es war etwas viel aber super Qualität. Bedienung war auch Klasse. Alles in allem ein schöner Abend.

We had a company event here. The location and the service are top. All in all, the BBQ was good, but not outstanding: The side dishes and the dessert were very good, the grilled meat just okay. The hut is less suitable on warm summer days, as it is very stuffy inside.

Wir waren gestern als Gruppe von 11 Personen in der Hütte zu Gast. Das Ambiente ist wirklich sehr urig (z.B. befindet sich die Toilette in der Gutsschenke- nächstes Haus), die Isolation des Hauses dürfte minimal oder gar nicht nicht vorhanden sein, dafür ein leistungsstarkes Gebläse für schlagartig zuviel oder zuwenig Wärme. Außer unseren zwei Tischen war nur noch einer besetzt. G2 und Schnelltest wurden korrekt kontrolliert. Das Essen war gut bürgerlich und wurde auf familläre Art- d.h. auf Platten und Schüsseln- serviert, wie daheim halt. Nur- mein Eßtisch ist wesentlich breiter und das Geschirr hat gut Platz darauf, im Gegensatz zur Hütte. Bei der minimalen Belegung des Lokal wäre es sicher nicht schwierig gewesen, jeweils noch einen Tisch für ein wenig mehr Bequemlichkeit dazu zu stellen. Wie gesagt, das Essen hat ordentlich geschmeckt. Leider waren die Speisen nur lauwarm, besonders die schön cremige Suppe. Schade! Selbst früher im Schloß Ludwigsburg gab es schon Möglichkeiten, das Essen heiß zu servieren, trotz langer Wege über zugige Höfe. Warum ist das heute nicht machbar? Zum Dessert wurde auch eine Creme brulee serviert, sehr fein. Leider mußte ich schmerzlich die knusprige Zuckerkruste vermissen, das Wesentliche von diesem Dessert. Vielleicht gab es an diesem Tag generell ein Problem mit der Hitze am Essen? An Wein bestellten wir ein Fläschchen Atempo, einem wunderbaren Cuvee von der Domäne, an dem es nichts zu mäkeln gab. Alles in allem gesehen: wer auf urige Hüttenabende mit ordentlichem Essen und Unbequemlichkeiten steht, ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Sehr schönes Ambiente!! Dafür eigentlich 5Sterne. Für die überteuerten Preise und dafür, daß man ausschließlich Menü bestellen kann bzw muss wieder 2* Abzug. ;-)
