Monki Ramen in Nürnberg

A very good and large selection for vegans! The ramen is very tasty. Reservations are recommended as it is always very busy.

It was our first time there and the restaurant was full. The staff went to great lengths to organize the crowds so that no one had to wait outside. The food was delicious. Overall everything was fine and we will happily come back.

The restaurant was very full, but we got a table even without a reservation and with a wait on Friday evening. The food was very tasty and arrived at the table after a pleasant time. The waitresses were very friendly and the price-performance ratio was good. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the draft of cold air, which often occurred with new customers constantly coming. But an attempt was made to counteract this with a curtain. The relatively narrow and open seating conditions weren't particularly disturbing, but they only allowed a limited amount of privacy, which is why there is a deduction in terms of ambience.

I've been there several times and always enjoy meeting friends there for dinner. It's usually busy, so it's usually worth making a reservation. If it is very busy, you may have to wait a while for your order to be taken, but it will come quite quickly. The service staff is very nice. A variety of food and drinks are offered, including vegan options (starters and main courses). The portions are rather large, so it's a good idea to share the starter if you order one. Extra requests such as “without leeks” are always taken into account. Overall a great restautant experience.

High quality food. We loved it. Coffee is delicious as well. Would recommend adding kimchi to your dish. It's very fresh and tastes great. 😋

Excellent Ramen, I got tori shoyu and Hubby got tan tan men. Broth makes the ramen and I feel their chicken beoth is spectacular! Cant wait to try their pork broth 🥰 coffee is also pretty good compared to takeout places.

The ramen was good, the noodles seemed to be home made, they were firm, but tender at the same time. I've been to places with a lot more offer, but this one was okay. The service was nice and extra points for accepting us when it was already late, near closing time.

Schade! Wir hatten viele sehr positive Bewertungen gehört und hatten einen Tisch reserviert und waren pünktlich. Trotz Minusgraden mussten wir dann draußen 15 Min. warten. Innen setzte man uns an einen Tisch nahe der Tür, wo es so zog, dass alle ihre Jacken anbehalten mussten. Der Service war freundlich und sehr schnell, so schnell, dass man sich eher wie am Fließband vorkam. Das Essen war ok, die vegetarische Ramen fanden wir am besten. Die Portionen haben uns gereicht, allerdings sind die Preise relativ hoch. Alles in allem enttäuschend, wir werden nicht wieder hingehen. Es gibt in Nürnberg bessere Alternativen.

We spontaneously waded here in the early afternoon and after a short wait we got a place for the two of us with a small child. Unfortunately it's right next to the door and therefore a bit drafty despite the thick curtain. Service very friendly and quick. Kitchen also very quick and totally delicious!

The food and drinks were really top. However, a bit expensive and the space was really very tight. Despite a reservation, we (5 people) sat with three other strangers at a table that normally offers space for 4 or a maximum of 6 guests. With appetizers, bowls of ramen, and drinks, it was hard to move. Perhaps better recommended in summer when the outdoor area is open and offers more space. Service was good and the food was prepared and delivered quickly. There are many options to customize the ramen, including plenty of vegetarian options.

Delicious food! The menu was very nicely designed to explain how to properly eat your Ramen. The noodles where homemade and the ingredients very fresh. Nice cozy atmosphere with very good service! Would recommend 💯

Solid ramen restaurant. Is designed for fast throughput, staying seated for long periods of time is not desirable. Tonkotsu Ramen was very tasty, broth was almost too thick. Starters very good. Unfortunately, the main course came just a few minutes after the main course, so I had to wolf down the starter in order to eat the main course while it was still warm. I was asked several times to move to make room for even more guests. Prices very fair.

On December 29th I had severe intoxication, which caused me to feel unwell on the fifth day, lost 2 days of work, ruined the New Year, I can't recommend it to anyone.

Very tasty ramen, great ambience.

We were there for dinner on New Year's Eve. As a starter there was an incredibly delicious sandwich (see photo, number 8 on the menu). Crispy, juicy and quality you can taste. The main course was ramen with chicken broth and pork. The overall picture here was consistent but not outstanding. All in all, a delicious main course with no big surprises. It was pretty full and we were basically sitting in the path of the waiters, but that wasn't too annoying. However, we hadn't made a reservation and were happy to have gotten a place. The kitchen was clearly visible from our seat. Lots of fresh food that was sliced ​​breaded etc. However, there were also some exceptions that were warmed up in the microwave. But this is certainly not the case in any kitchen. Successful dining experience.

You feel a bit like you're in a train station hall. You sit very crowded together in long rows of tables, you hear the conversations of the people sitting next to you and it's quite loud. A coming and going. Therefore points deducted. But the food is excellent.

Pleasant Japanese restaurant. We came just for the ramen and we weren't disappointed. We were there shortly before 12 p.m. and were able to get a spot. The restaurant filled up quite a bit and all the seats were immediately filled. There are tables with benches against the wall on one side of the restaurant and a long table in the middle of the room where you can sit down. The menu is extensive and there is also a large selection of drinks. We had 50 Tonkotsu Shoyu (Yokohama Style) and 51 Tonkotsu (Monki Style). Both soups had a pleasant taste. We would come to the restaurant again if we were in Nuremberg again.

Reservation was not noted. Nobody on site knew anything... they were turned away with the statement that I should look at the queue outside and just get in line. Give the store 1 year….

Already our second visit and definitely not our last! Authentic cuisine and location, very courteous staff, very attentive and on point despite high occupancy, quality of starters and main courses at a high level, all at a reasonable price for a city center location, what more could you want?!

For me it was disappointing. The plate was chipped. Gyozas were hard on one side, like they were Tk gyozas. Edamame was sometimes extremely overcooked

Monki is my favorite ramen in Nuremberg! Love the vibe inside, and food is delicious. They also have a great lunch menu with items under 20€!

Bad experience. Waiter placed my order on someone else's table, but the patron already contaminated the food with their chopsticks. I waited an additional 15 minutes for my food show up. Overall taste of the dishes were average, and the cut of chashu was very thin for 15 euros. The karaage tastes like schnitzel and the chicken was breaded to thin. No apology or refund from the host. Never again.

"It tastes delicious, but it's definitely not ramen" If you're looking for a bowl of Asian-style hot noodles on the streets of Germany, this would be a good choice. The noodles are good. Lunch price is about 13 euros a bowl. But if you're looking for a traditional bowl of Japanese ramen, this is not the place for you. Moreover, there is only one hour for dining, and the staff is very anxious to ask diners to pay. It is recommended to eat the bento type instead of deliberately eating this untraditional ramen. (There is a long line before the store opens at 12 o'clock! It is very popular!)

I'm pretty picky about Asian food, but I can really recommend this ramen :) I ordered Tantan Ramen with pork & minced pork. For a halal option, there is Tantan Ramen with minced soy meat. Only 1 staff seemed a bit unfriendly, but otherwise everyone was very nice :)

Absolutamente amada Monki - que se pone extremadamente ocupado durante todo el día y la noche en testimonio de la comida - las colas se extienden por la puerta. Si bien el enfoque se centra principalmente en el ramen, hay una buena variedad de entrantes japoneses y otros platos principales: el sushi se sirve en un restaurante hermano, Ginza, que lamentablemente no tuvimos la oportunidad de probar. La comida es comunitaria - se sienta en mesas largas típicas de muchos bares de ramen. El servicio es "comida rápida" dado el volumen de comensales, pero es una operación elegante, y el personal, todos japoneses, son amables y serviciales. Definitivamente es mejor reservar, aunque hacen paseo - ins si el espacio y el tiempo lo permiten. Si estás harto de las salchichas y el schnitzel, esta es una muy buena alternativa.

Went here today for authentic Japanese Izakaya snacks. This didn't really exist and yet it was very Europeanized. Unfortunately, the Edame were overcooked and not crunchy like you get at Izakaya. Unfortunately the gyoza weren't completely cooked either. The Maceudon were closer to Italian pasta. Tempura was close to the original. The Kure was fruity and not really authentic. The music is definitely not something you would hear in an Izakaya. It's okay, really authentic is different, could be due to the non-Japanese owner.

Monki Ramen is a very good ramen place offering lots of extras to enhance your meal. They have bench-style tables and take reservations, making it convenient for groups. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the taste was great, though the noodles were a bit soft for my preference.

We didn’t have a reservation, so we waited outside. Since we were the first in line, we were given hot tea to drink while we waited & we really didn’t have to wait very long. The service was friendly & efficient. The food was sooo good that I would have eaten there every day/night if I could!

The restaurant is not very big, but the decor is very stylish. From the appetizer to the main course, everything is perfectly prepared and delicious. I visited the restaurant on two different days, once in the evening and once at lunchtime, but it was always full on both days. It is best to reserve in advance to avoid waiting on cold winter days.

We had high hopes of eating good ramen again. Especially given the impression of the decoration and the ambience in general, we were excited to see what it would taste like. Unfortunately, in the end we weren't as impressed as we had hoped. We ordered ramen twice and had kimchi in the middle. The kimchi wasn't to our taste and was too sour than I've come across - both from Germany and from South Korea itself. Overall, the ramen tasted good, but unfortunately it was relatively cold when it was at our table. The homemade (non-alcoholic) drinks were delicious! We were actually least impressed with the service. We have often given the signal that we would like to order, but we were ignored for a long time - our signal to order was clearly seen, but not taken into account for a long time. Of course, this can happen, especially when the workers are stressed, but it only became difficult because customers who came after us were given priority. This ended up making it a bit frustrating. In addition, the service was not extremely friendly, but not unfriendly either, i.e. rather neutral. Regardless, a certain employee was very kind and saved the whole thing. Based on our experience, we found the price-performance ratio to be a bit unsuitable, but perhaps that will change on a second visit when we are back in Nuremberg. :)

Salted Karaage will taste better with Mayonnaise. Tempura is the best🥰

Hmm… Really have mixed feelings about the restaurant. On the one hand, you get a really great Japanese atmosphere. On the other hand, you are greeted by sometimes rude service staff who hardly understand German or English and by packed seating that is more reminiscent of a campsite than a restaurant. On the other hand, the food, in my case a small portion of Ebi-Gyouza (grilled dumplings with shrimp and pork filling, five pieces, to take away) were fantastically good and I ate them with relish in the comfort of my own home after about 30 minutes. The wait for the Gyouza wasn't too bad either. At least not for me, because as a former chef and restaurant owner I know that good things take time 😉 That's why I'll give the store a second chance at some point and then make the right decision as to whether it's worth it again or not. The current first impression is in the middle range.

We were here for lunch and ordered a "Tori Don" and a "Kara Miso". The atmosphere is really nice and traditionally Japanese – I really liked the lanterns and the wallpaper. The staff was professional and friendly, which made the visit very pleasant. The “Kara Miso” was really very spicy and incredibly tasty – I would have given it 5 stars without a doubt. Unfortunately, the “Tori Don” really disappointed us. The chicken was almost raw, still pink, and the sloppy skin was unpleasant. I would have only given 1 star for that. So on average I get 3 stars.

Anoche en Nuremberg y visitamos el restaurante japonés Monki para cenar. Estaba muy ocupado, pero el servicio era muy rápido y el personal muy amable. Gran ambiente, largas mesas compartidas, pero todavía dejando un montón de espacio para sentarse cómodamente. Servicio de comida bien administrado, muy eficiente y era muy, muy sabroso y delicioso. Si estás de visita en Nuremberg y quieres una alternativa a las albóndigas de patata, entonces no dudes en probar.

I had the vegan miso ramen and can only recommend it. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the drink (something with Tokyo), but it also tasted good. The shop is relatively small and it is difficult to get a seat, but if you have the opportunity, you should take advantage of it to eat there.

The food was ok but very expensive for what it was. You feel like you're at the train station. Extremely loud and the blind waiter is constantly running around and bumping into people. The service was lousy. Half of it is not understood and you wait forever. Was the first and last time.

Very tasty ramen, I respects chefs for how fast they cook all of those tasty things. But I HATE the service stuff in Monki. You get tips without my approval (happened once), you ignore customers and sometimes I wait for 30 min until you come to take an order, many many times I asks for payment and staff forgot about it until I do not really show how annoyed I‘m. Finally, when officiant see you, he didn’t give you any signal, just turn 180 degree and go off. Shame on you, so good food and so annoying staff, today was last day when I came to that place ever.

Why are all Asian restaurants in Germany so good?

If I could give them - 5 stars, I would, in terms of how they treat their customers. We were waiting outside in the cold to get a table, then the host who was way more Worried about the customer inside, came and shut the curtains in front of our faces (so people inside not to be cold) without saying nothing, and let us waiting there. Of course, we left and we will never back.

I ordered the classic shoyu ramen ，recommended by the staff ，delicious .

I was skeptical at first but was convinced otherwise. Very tasty ramen. Suitable for vegans. Personally, I think the price/performance ratio for the starters is a bit too high, but it's still delicious food in a nice atmosphere :)

We ordered the karage and the tonkotsu ramen. Both food looked good but lacking of the Japanese flavor. Overall it was okay.

Very cramped location. People stand around you waiting while you eat. You can't take off your jacket in the winter because it's freezing through the door and there's no option because of the lack of space. The food is mediocre, the meat is full of fat, the service is very unfriendly and rude. After 90 minutes you are practically thrown out... never again!

The food is really good, but it was the first and last time we ate there. Unfortunately it is very chaotic and loud. People are standing around in the restaurant waiting to be seated. The service staff seem overwhelmed. It's better to order the food home and save yourself the stress.

I ordered curry pork cutlet and miso ramen The potatoes and carrots in the curry were uncooked and felt very hard and tasteless. The tonkatsu was so crispy that the skin on the roof of your mouth would break. The meat in the miso ramen had a bit of a pig flavor, but overall it was delicious. I'm satisfied with growing things as long as I can eat them in Germany

Overall good food, but not my favorite ramen. Ambiance is a matter of taste but I like it rustic. Maybe a little cozy on busy days. Service was courteous and quick despite the store being full.

Great restaurant! Whenever I'm in Nuremberg, this is my point of contact! I've been to many ramen restaurants but this one keeps popping into my head. Super nice staff and great value for money too!

I love eating Japanese food and cocktails. When I was in Nuremberg, I discovered Monki. The food there is really tasty and the drinks are pretty interesting! I really like the cocktails here! You should definitely come by and try it out!

We had Tempura Udon, and Shoyu Ramen. The portion is not that much for the lunch menu. Also, Udon doesn’t taste like Udon. If you know how Udon tastes, you will be disappointed. But! Tempura was good!

The “Karaage” appetizer tasted like KFC’s chicken tenders, but the espresso martini was even worse. This tasted incredibly disgusting, and then offering it for €12 is bottomless.

Monki in Nuremberg is delicious for eating ramen. However, it can get very crowded, so unfortunately you end up sitting next to someone. That's not so nice then. The waiters are nice, unfortunately some of them are not attentive, but I don't blame the waiter but the concept. How are you supposed to have an overview when 3 different guests are sitting at a table. The homeade drinks are very refreshing and there is a large selection of vegan and vegetarian soups, for meat eaters too of course.

The best ramen I have ever eaten. There were plenty of options to choose from. Wide variety of toppings, delicious eggs, overall very filling . Japanese vibe and music, my fav place in Norymberg ❤️

Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve had such delicious food. The gyoza, tempura, and ramen were outstanding—flavorful, with tender chashu and a very good broth. Despite the rush hour, the service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Tip from my Japanese neighbor. It was packed, nice people at the next table who we chatted with. Food was tasty. Monki means "monkey". That's why this wallpaper with hidden monkeys in the restaurant. Very sweet.

Super leckere Ramen, schneller Service und faire Preise für ein Innenstadt-Restaurant. Zu Stoßzeiten muss man allerdings damit rechnen, nicht alleine an einem Tisch zu sitzen. Wir kommen gerne jederzeit wieder und waren von der Dekoration und den Tapeten ganz angetan!

This is a very delicious Japanese ramen shop, even in Taiwan, it is a top-notch ramen shop! ! It’s very touching to be able to drink a bowl of delicious and warm hot soup in Germany🥹 The location is right at the subway exit of the old city. The interior decoration is elegant and clean. The store has a large space and the business hours are long. It is very convenient to not take a break in the afternoon! Eat the whole bowl of ramen! tasty! ! !

The best ramen I've ever had was a real taste explosion. The broth was deep and flavorful, perfectly balanced between spicy and savory. The noodles were just right, springy and absorbed the broth perfectly. Every bite was a delight, and everything came together beautifully. Simply unforgettable!

Came here to satisfy our cravings. Ordered Ramen and rice meal for early dinner. Their Ramen broth for Tonkotsu Shoyu was legit, it's worth to try. Katsu don have also yummy side dishes, which i like the most. What's downside with this restaurant is they don't have their own toilet for customers.

Very tasty ramen and other dishes, nice service. The only criticism: the ingredients in ramen could be a little more seasoned and the wooden spoon is not ideal. Deduction for the ambience because it is rather loud and uncomfortable inside. We only come if you can sit outside.

Very tasty ramen soup - definitely worth a visit! Unfortunately, due to the size of the restaurant, the ambience suffers somewhat (you basically sit table to table with your neighbor)
