Mima Peru in Mannheim

Regarding the food and service, I can only agree. A true explosion of flavors! Unique! Unfortunately, it seems to be a general trend; I find €10 for a glass of wine (which was really delicious) and almost €4 for a glass of water unacceptable. Especially since I thought, how cool, here, like in France and most of the rest of the world, they offer plain water for free. Highly recommended nonetheless!

A special kind of surprise... A menu on the occasion of this year's Valentine's Day consisting of ceviche, lukewarm sorbet (!), entrecote with risotto and cheesecake that doesn't sound like much at first glance, but makes the Marinera (Peruvian folk dance) taste buds dance from the first to the last bite. Pure umami. Perfectly handcrafted and absolutely authentic. Cheers! The Pisco-based drinks and the selection of wines are just as impressive. Attentive service rounds everything off. What a pearl in the Jungbusch district of Mannheim. Trust me, I know what I'm eating and come here.

I can't quite share the hype surrounding this restaurant. The hype is probably because the restaurant is part of a trendy district that is popular for reasons I don't understand. You sit cramped and rather uncomfortable in a rather small restaurant. The tables for two have the format of two DINA3 sides. There is no vestibule at the entrance. It's bad when the door opens in winter and you're exposed to the icy air from outside for a few seconds. You literally fall into the restaurant from outside. Service very friendly and attentive. The food, on the other hand, I found to be average to meaningless, neither outliers up nor down: beef with potatoes and rice in a sauce. You can get that elsewhere too. The price level was rather high or it was somehow too expensive for me. No, no reason for me to come back.

Umami pur. Handwerklich perfekt und absolut authentisch zubereitet. Chapeau! Ebenso überragend sind die Drinks auf Basis von Pisco als auch die Auswahl an Weinen. Aufmerksamer Service rundet alles ab. Was für eine Perle im Stadtteil Jungbusch von Mannheim. Vertraut mir, ich weiß was ich esse und kehrt hier ein.

Because of the many positive reviews (and because we like to try something new), we went to Mima Peru for dinner during our short visit to Mannheim. For us it was a perfect evening for two: a celebration of very different taste experiences with the starters (Ceviche Aji Amarillo and Yuca Rellena) and a classic soul food experience with the main courses (Lomo Saltado and Chi Jau Kay). The quality of the products was beyond any doubt, the service was able to provide us newbies in Peruvian cuisine with great advice and was very passionate about it. We felt super comfortable! Just one more note: you could still work on the crema of the espresso a bit... despite that, or perhaps because of that: always happy to do it again when we are in Mannheim!

A small, cozy shop with incredibly delicious food, a wonderful atmosphere and incredibly friendly service. It was my first visit – but definitely not the last! This place is truly a culinary enrichment. The shop is small, which means that you sit quite close to each other at the tables. If a large group is chatting next door, you will inevitably hear some of it. But that's not a disadvantage, but rather part of the charm of this special place. It shows how popular the place is and luckily they have set up so many tables - so more people can enjoy this fantastic food. I would like you to have a slightly larger restaurant at some point so that even more people have the opportunity to try your delicacies. You absolutely deserve it!

As friends of Peruvian cuisine, we specifically looked for Peruvian restaurants and found Mima in Mannheim. Located in the exciting Jungbusch district right on the B44, we found a small, somewhat crowded restaurant where everything really fit from the moment we sat at the table. The service was competent, never intrusive and always on top of the situation, even though there wasn't a single seat left. The food was fantastically prepared. The panko-fried langostinos came with mashed sweet potatoes and mayonnaise; Everything in a variety of flavors that were still well coordinated. The main course of lomo salteado (a specially seasoned and very tenderly fried beef) came with tagliatelle a la huancaina. This sauce is a Peruvian specialty and was absolutely amazing for me. The whole thing was rounded off with a Pisco Sour, which is a must-have in Peruvian cuisine. Priced at a slightly higher level, the food was worth every cent. We'd love to come back

Yesterday we visited Mima Peru for the first time and traveled from Neustadt specifically for this purpose. The food (especially the ceviche) was really amazing! The service was super nice, attentive and accommodating. Ambience authentic and cozy. Our little dog was also very welcome. We were even offered water for our dog twice and a table at the edge. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back. For us, the evening was a little break and we felt like we were on vacation. Thanks for that!

I have often driven past the restaurant and have been meaning to visit it for a long time. On Saturday the time had come. The menu is manageable. The food was great! The portion might be a little too small for very hungry visitors. The only “negative” thing was where we sat. It gets very fresh in the entrance area when the door keeps opening. I'll be back!

Mima Peru is not a great recommendation for fans of Peruvian cuisine. Friendly staff, charming atmosphere and great food in terms of presentation, quality and taste are absolute plus points at Mima Peru. Ceviche of very good quality and Lomo Saltado like in Peru, plus the best Pisco Sour - with fresh protein - that I have had so far outside of Peru. A little more space for tables would be great, but hardly feasible in the given space. The friendly and charming service is very committed when the restaurant is full, but is not always at its best and occasionally has to be pointed out a second or third time about drinks that have already been ordered or are missing. Nevertheless: full recommendation for Mima Peru!

A few weeks ago, the three of us were in this Peruvian restaurant in the middle of Jungbusch. Parking spaces are obviously in short supply there, so we drove around for a while until we found a parking space. The restaurant was small and fine and had an appealing atmosphere. The menu was varied and we chose a starter for 3 people and 3 main courses. As far as the starter goes, it was quite little for three people. We were even more excited about the main courses. Here, too, we were wide-eyed and asked ourselves how the portions could fill us up. All 3 of us are normal eaters and not used to exceptionally large portions. The end result was that we didn't pay very little and got very little in return.

Our visit to MimaPeru yesterday was a complete success, especially for families with children! We were there with our two children and from the first moment we felt that the needs of families were really taken into account here. The service was attentive, friendly and very fond of children. The staff seemed to be trying very hard to ensure that our children had a good time - be it with a friendly smile, small conversations or even by providing toys and art supplies. The atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and pleasant. The food itself was outstanding! A big plus was that the staff was available at any time and responded quickly to requests - whether it was to quickly bring an additional napkin or fulfill a spontaneous request from the children. This made the visit to the restaurant a relaxing experience for the whole family. Conclusion: This restaurant is a real recommendation for families with children!

Food and service top. We had only made a reservation for four people, but since there were only two of us, our table for four was passed on and we were given a table for two, which was unfortunately right next to the entrance to the toilet and around which there were always a lot of people. Of course you can understand that every space was needed because of night walking, but moving it was definitely a downgrade. But since we enjoyed it so much, we will still come back.

Honestly it has been so far the best restaurant I have eaten in in Baden Württemberg. The food is divine, the service is warm and the majority speaks Spanish and the atmosphere is pleasant! Congratulations guys! We will return ✨

Wir wurden von Laura zunächst als Neulinge der peruanischen Küche bzgl der Speisen mit großer Kompetenz und Enthusiasmus informiert, wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen und waren von dieser mega freundlichen Art einfach fasziniert! Wir entschieden uns für die Möglichkeit, unterschiedliche Vorspeisen für alle zu bestellen und die untereinander auszutauschen! Ähnlich mit Hauptgerichten, so dass alle die vielfältigen Gerichte probieren konnten, später analog mit dem Dessert! Das Essen war vorzüglich, einfach alles mehr als stimmig, uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen! Neben diesem hervorragenden Essen eine hochmotivierte junge Dame, die für das Lokal brennt und sich in jeder Hinsicht super engagiert!

We found this by chance. This should be the most famous restaurant in Mannheim. I was blown away with the quality and presentation of the food. This was my first time in a Peruvian restaurant and unfortunately I live 500 miles away. Do not miss this gem if you are in Mannheim.

The service is very good, friendly, communicative, attentive, quick. The food is very tasty and very nicely presented. The ambience is appropriate, a bit noisy because of the street. The prices are basically ok if the portions were larger. Despite a small starter and entrecote as the main course, we left the restaurant still hungry. This is very unsatisfactory and somehow a shame, hence only the 3 stars.

The food is really very good, with very interesting combinations in terms of taste. Also beautifully presented. But: the portions are for the hollow tooth, you shouldn't go here if you're really hungry. The prices are pretty steep. We would still come back, see above.

Suggestion for improvement: The pricing for drinks and main courses is reasonable and worth every euro! Great quality and definitely to the point. The prices for the starters, on the other hand, are not in proportion (3 croquetas = €15) - maybe think again. For all guests arriving by car: the parking situation is catastrophic, so be sure to leave early.

Relaxed atmosphere, very nice service. In our group of six, we tried a wide variety of Peruvian specialties across the menu. Everyone was very satisfied, especially since there were often unusual and new flavor nuances to discover (the only slight criticism was the scallop, which had a bit of its own flavor and was steamed with gratinated cheese). The aperitif drinks such as Pisco Sour or Lima Mule were also met with enthusiasm. And the view from the window of the Jungbusch Bridge is also something... ;-) There are also plenty of outdoor spaces in the summer. Definitely a recommendation for a more unusual dining experience in Mannheim.

We were at mima Peru for the first time yesterday and were really looking forward to celebrating July 28th with you. A 5 course menu was offered for €58 per person. Unfortunately it was only a 3-course menu because dear people, a greeting from the kitchen which consisted of a maki and an intermediate course which was a tiny chicha sorbet are not courses. Then we get 3 courses for 58€ which is really steep considering the small portions. We reserved our table for 5 p.m. and more than half an hour passed between courses. Maybe there was a little too much pisco sour over the counter that day… The food itself was tasty and of good quality but unfortunately we were still disappointed. With a journey of over 1 hour, we won't have to do that anymore. A pity

Mima is totally worth it. There were two of us and we ended up eating three main courses, so incredibly good.

The restaurant seems to be well received by guests. We would like to have a restaurant like this in Wiesbaden or Mainz. It will be an enrichment for the cities.

Although the restaurant is not that big, we were in very good hands here with a group of 20+. The arrangements in advance were smooth and short-term changes were responded to without any problems. The choice of menu (vegi, entrecote or octopus) was very tasty and everyone found something that suited them. We were also offered a cheap water package, which was just right on the hot day. The two lemonades are also extremely tasty and totally refreshing in the heat. The service was very friendly and reliable. Depending on how large the group is, you should definitely reserve in advance.
