Good food and not expensive. Definitely recommended!

I've been a customer here for a long time and was planning on eating here again this week. However, after I saw that bulgogi with rice costs almost 20 euros here, I was pretty shocked. The taste of the dish had already deteriorated after the move to the current location and I think that the price is now almost double what it was back then. A year ago the price was still reasonable, but I think asking so much from customers is a bit excessive. It's a shame :/

Super delicious Korean food in the heart of Mannheim. The vegetarian options are also highly recommended, and of course, the classics like bulgogi or Korean fried chicken are a dream! 😍

We were there for the second time today and it was delicious again! The Amuse Gueulles: pickled potatoes/radish & celery/then a very tasty miso soup and then Bi Bim Bap. Really delicious and a generous portion! The conditions were all in a good mood and very nice! Always my pleasure!

When we visited Mainhem, we had lunch here. 1, Food 😊😊😊😊 We ordered Ban Ban Chicken 804 with 2 flavors, 802 and 803. We also ordered Yuk Gae Jang 207. There is probably too much food than we could eat. We took the leftover away and still have enough for the next 3 meals at home 🥲. The food was delicious. 2, Service ☹️☹️☹️☹️ I was a bit unhappy that we were asked to change the table after seated for another group ( the same group was trying to cut in front of us the whole time waiting for a table). ♡In sum up, we liked the food despite the seating arrangements. We will come back still and recommend it to people.

I had spicy braised ribs and seafood and green onion pancakes, and it was very delicious.

Efficient service and very cheerful people. The bibimbap is excellent as is the kimchi. The setting is sober. Restaurant victim of its success, it was for lunch, in the evening a lot of people, it fills up quite quickly. And I confirm that we can pay by credit card.

Reservations are not possible, but a group that was exactly the same size as ours and arrived much later than us was allowed in before us... after standing outside in the cold for over an hour, we were asked if we wanted to sit at separate tables want to sit, just because there were 5 of us and a table for 6 had just become free... after a short discussion we were finally allowed in. For pasta with broth and cheese with a few spring onions, you pay a whopping 14 euros... everything happened much too quickly and you had the feeling that they wanted to process you as quickly as possible so that you could leave as quickly as possible... it was really very stressful there.

The service and atmosphere were good, and the portions were so big that I had to take them away. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to dishes. I can't eat spicy food, so I specifically chose the non-spicy one on the menu, but I still felt it was a bit spicy after eating it; the tea was freshly brewed in tea bags. The location is near the train station, you can get there by taking one stop or walking there. As for the price, as mentioned earlier, the portion is very generous and the price/performance ratio is acceptable. Although it may be a bit expensive for students, it may be just right for office workers. My suggestion is that local customers may not be able to eat that spicy food, so try to make the dishes that are not spicy on the menu without adding chili pepper. Thank you.

Very cold and carelessly furnished. Feels more like a snack bar. Prices are pretty hefty. No main course under 18 euros. That's pretty awesome. 0.3 Pils 6 euros, also a bit outrageous. Not particularly tasty, but that could be because I don't go out for Korean food often. Must be because of the hype, which is why people even line up there. Not justified in my opinion. I won't go there again and I can't recommend it. Service was nice.

The food was very tasty, but most of it was a bit spicy. But that's what you expect from most Korean dishes. Personally, I don't find it too spicy. For people who can't tolerate spiciness, the choice of food is a little less, but there are still a few dishes that contain little or no spiciness. The atmosphere is nice. I would highly recommend making a reservation as it is always quite busy there. The service was quite good, the food came quickly, but if it's a little busy it might take a little longer. The vegetarian gyoza was incredibly delicious, probably the food I recommend the most. However, I think the prices for the dishes are a bit too expensive, but they are delicious. I'll definitely be back.

We ordered two portions of tteokbokki to take away and the portions were soooo small. Simply cheeky to charge €10 for this mini portion. I used to eat here often but please look at the picture what a sad portion... The taste is no longer what it used to be. Soban you really slacked off

Update: Prices have been drastically increased! My menu was increased from €14 to €18, that's almost 30%! That's too much at once. There is a 2 star deduction for this. I will go to Soban less often in the future. The food still tastes good and the portions are relatively large. The employees are friendly.

Because business was so good, we had to wait over an hour in the cold winter air. Apart from the few seats there is really nothing to complain about. The restaurant is very clean, the atmosphere is cozy, the food is served quickly, the dishes are delicious and the staff is very friendly.👍👍

Unfortunately you cannot reserve. Expect to wait around 15-30 minutes. The food is tasty but there is no adequate service. Cellars are not patient and friendly to a limited extent.

Unfortunately a very bad experience. The food was average but far too little. Dishes that were with the frames had nothing to do with frames. The service was non-existent. For the life of me, I don't understand the line in front of the store.

I ordered a starter and a main course. My main course came no more than ten minutes after the starter. I'm not that fast. I had a version of Bi Bim Bap in one of those bowls that come to the table super hot. This actually always gives the rice a crispy base. My food didn't have that, it was pretty cool. In addition, the rice was bland and the vegetables were cut quite roughly. After I complained about this, I was told I had no idea. I then paid the full bill and will not go there again. If you want good Korean food, you shouldn't go here. Since it's a chain, other locations may be better.

I had dinner there with friends today. However, the last time for me. The food was ok but unlike my friends I didn't get full. But I also honestly admit that Korean food just isn't my thing, which is why I reached for the ribs. In addition, the food was not brought to everyone at the same time or promptly, but with long delays. It has nothing to do with a restaurant and gives me the feeling of a snack bar. The waiter didn't really listen either and instead brought one of our plates to the next table. Drinking in cans isn't really professional either. I leave this store very dissatisfied and will never enter it again. I also don't think the price-performance ratio is good. You had to go to the counter to pay, which definitely has nothing to do with a restaurant.

There are so many Korean reviews that I took the train from Mainz to try it. also. A country of gluttons. The place is empty I don't recommend it. I was so proud that it was a Korean restaurant popular with Aber locals. So, as a Korean, I proudly ordered ribs with a stick drawn on them, but it was so spicy that I had to use 6 sheets of tissue to get my nose running.. 🤧 To become an honorary German, I tried blowing my nose at a restaurant for the first time in my life. I had runny nose. It didn't come off like a tattoo. It was so spicy. It felt like level 2 spiciness of Korean straw rib ribs. but! Unfortunately I have to say that the visit to the Korean restaurant in Soban was very disappointing. The service was below average, the employees were extremely unfriendly and made little effort to offer us a pleasant stay. Unfortunately, the food didn't taste good at all - the dishes were carelessly prepared and far from what you would expect from good Korean cuisine. In comparison, the Soban in Heidelberg is significantly better - both in terms of the quality of the food and the service. We were warmly welcomed here and felt welcome. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the restaurant in Soban. It's a shame, but we definitely won't be coming back.

Very tasty food, the hot sauce is really hot but also extremely tasty. I tried the Korean cinnamon tea there for the first time and it was brutally good.

We were there spontaneously on a Thursday evening. The food was delicious, but it took a long time and the starters weren't brought beforehand, everything was just put together. The staff is polite but quite distant. The atmosphere that day also seemed a bit hectic/tense. We still enjoyed it but I would rather go to another Korean restaurant in Mannheim, especially since the variety on the menu is quite limited (personal opinion).

Food is really good. I really like that they serve a wide variety of korean food without being pretentious. I take issue with the service, it is extremely messy and clearly understaffed. I would come again.

Their japchae is a must-try, with glass noodles perfectly soaked in a tangy sauce, accompanied by super tender meat and just-right veggies. Plus, you get a tray of delightful small dishes like pickled radishes that hit a spot in your brain you didn't even know was itching and a comforting bowl of warm miso soup. Very good Korean restaurant. The spicy dishes are as spicy as they should be. But there are also mild dishes. It's often full and you can't make a reservation. However, in the cases where I was there, it never took too long.

We've been here many times, the food is delicious and the service is really on point, everything goes quickly, you never have to wait long. There are often queues outside and you can't make a reservation, but you never actually have to wait long for a table to become available.

In winter it is terribly cold. You can't really enjoy your food. It's just as cold as outside... The food is very tasty and in summer you can eat outside. The previous location was small and had no terrace, which is now a big plus at the new location.

Nice spot for lunch in the area. I go there quite regularly. Atmosphere is nothing special, more about efficieny than cozyness, but that‘s okay. Lunch included starters, food is consistently very good!

Maybe the best Korean place for the price, the food here is amazing the portions are massive and the price is right. You might have to wait a bit here and there but it's not bad, if you haven't been, just go there and have the best Bi Bim Bap in Mannheim!

It was not bad but was definitely expecting more. the food is tasty enough for the cost. The quantity is unbelievable. I couldn’t finish in one sitting and had to pack up and had the left over again next afternoon. Overall not bad.

It is very delicious. It's been about 4 months since I came to Germany, and I came here to take an exam after staying in another region, but this is already my second visit in just 3 days. Homesickness was cured properly. I think I will visit Mannheim regularly in the future because of Soban. I tried ttukbul stew yesterday and spicy braised ribs today, and I was very satisfied with both. The rice was good and the amount of meat was much more than I expected. One galbijjim is enough to eat two bowls of rice. I think the level of spiciness is based on Korean standards, not tailored to foreigners. My friend who likes spicy food found it quite spicy, and I'm not good at spicy food, so I asked for it to be slightly less spicy just in case, but it was deliciously spicy and good. Anyway, it's delicious. Among the nearby restaurants, it was the only one with a line. Whether you are Korean or a foreigner, please visit with confidence.

We took dumplings with chicken and original korean chicken (you get two portions) and it was more than enough. Food is really delicious and our order came really fast. Workers are nice but it took them some time to get our order and then our bill. I feel like it's a bit on the expensive side but the portions are quite large so it compensates each other. I think it is a really nice lunch/dinner option! :)

Yukgaejang. Jjambbong. I had the squid rice bowl and it was very, very delicious. If you come to Germany and want to eat Korean food, you can order anything here and it will all be delicious.

Bibimbap was disappointing. The bowl in which it is served was barely hot, meaning that the rice was not crispy and the toppings (which are cold) make the dish get cold very fast. Poor service if you order to take away. You pay the same price (not cheap), but they do not give you the pickles and the soup that are included with every dish if you eat there.

Very good place to go with friends or family and try authentic korean cuisine. You get a lot of appetizers included in price. Also there are many different dishes and drinks to choose. Price is not that high comparing to portion and quality of food. I highly recommend!

Best Asian restaurant in Germany

Great food with great value. This is one of the most popular asian restaurant in Mannheim. The restaurant is located near the maintrain station. When we came for lunch, there was little bit of queue. We had to wait only around 10 minutes before we were served. There are many food to choose from such as, Mandu, Ramyun, Jjampong, BBQ Chicken and so on. We ordered three menu: Kimchi Jjigae, Kimchi Jeon and Bulgogi Bibimbap. We did not have breakfast so we ordered three menu. I personally kinda underestimated the portion, but when food arrived, the portion was big (or at least more than usual portion in Asian Restaurant in Germany). The Kimchi Jjigae was full of meat. The same case also with the Bibimbap and the Kimchi Jeon. The food itself also taste delicious. The staff there is also friendly. Overall it is a recommended place to eat Korean food. Will come back again.

Good Korean food with friendly service

The food is always really tasty there. I've never been able to complain about it. The only drawback here is that the waiters simply seem overwhelmed. Running around constantly, which means it takes a while until you see one and want to order something or ask for the invoice. Despite the bell.

I've eaten at Soban in other cities in Germany (Heidel, Mainz), but this one was the best. The staff are also friendly.
