We recently visited the sushi restaurant that used to be one of our favorite places. Unfortunately, our last visit disappointed us. First of all, I noticed that the prices have risen sharply. While the price-performance ratio used to be good, I found the current prices to be excessive, especially given the decreased quality of the food. The menu was significantly reduced in size, leaving us with fewer choices. In addition, the taste of the beef we ordered was no longer at the level we were used to (it simply tasted like goulash). The rice was prepared quite well but the quality of the fish left a lot to be desired. We used to always enjoy fresh, filling portions here, but this time it lacked flavor and freshness. There were four of us and we all received the food together on a single plate without being informed of this in advance. This made sharing and presentation rather confusing and reduced the experience. It also seemed to us as if the portions had become smaller overall. Overall, I have to say that the restaurant unfortunately no longer maintains the standard that I once appreciated. The quality of the food has deteriorated and with the significantly increased prices I just expect more. It's a shame, because the sushi here used to be really excellent.

We were here yesterday and unfortunately disappointed. The prices have been raised extremely, which is disproportionate to the current quality. The menu has become smaller and the food no longer tastes as good as it did two years ago. What was particularly disappointing was that the prawns were sometimes undercooked - that really shouldn't happen given the prices. It's a shame because we used to love staying here, but unfortunately we can't recommend it at the moment.

If you eat there it is perfect but expensive. Ordering and picking up is a complete disaster!!!! Meat skewers were as thin and small as my little finger, the noodles were dry and a child's portion. Sushi were miniature and there was almost no fish or avocado 🥑 included... Then 50 euros... I thought it was a joke

Very well located restaurant in downtown Koblenz. After entering the restaurant, we were taken to our beautifully and high-quality table. The friendly staff briefly explained to us the ordering process via tablet and everything else we needed to know. The food was very fresh, tasty and of good quality. With 4 people we ordered a total of around 30 dishes, all of which came in smaller portions, which is also very good because you can try a lot of things. (Don't worry everyone who likes to eat a lot, everyone will be full with this offer) All in all, there was nothing there that wasn't tasty. Drinks were also very good and not too expensive. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

The amount of rice in the rolls is okay, but in some restaurants it is too high. The rice is well tempered, which is also important to us. The rolls were good, some had too much mayonnaise for my taste. I scraped half off the second roll, it tasted better. Cucumber wrapped gunkan and the tiger roll were our favorites. Even though you sit close to other people at a small two-person table, it was designed so that it doesn't disturb you. The service is friendly, good, fast. Despite the reservation, we waited in line for about 15 minutes.

I don't know what was worse was the unfriendly waiter, who is probably diverse and doesn't know whether he's a boy or a girl (I lean towards girls). The atmosphere was very unpleasant for me and I'll never go to the store again! Unless I have a *gastrointestinal infection* which I had the next day, I commented to the waiter that the food tasted old and strange, he said this was normal, the mice running around the shop were also normal & the unfriendly staff .

The dishes used to be much better, much larger and much tastier. Now the dishes have become smaller and it takes a long time for the order to come to the table even though the restaurant was not crowded (that's no fun anymore). I used to go to this restaurant regularly because it was fun. But now €80 for two people is very expensive. The price is not the problem. But slow service and small dishes are the problem. We have to wait 15 minutes before we can order again. We used to have to wait 15 minutes. But the order always came quickly and was the right size, so we didn't get bored. But yesterday the waitress only came with a plate, then again after 5 minutes with a plate. That was abnormal. And another thing: There are people who are allergic to crabs, but unfortunately almost all sushi contains crabs or surimi. You have to think about these people.

Be careful with appointments between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.!!! All you can eat “Lunch” costs €23.90 per person. “Dinner” (from 4 p.m.) but €36.90 per person. - each for a maximum of 2 hours. We had booked for 3 p.m. and had “dinner” for €36.90 per person. Take it because otherwise we would have only had 1 hour to eat. 36.90 €/p. but it's too much!

I know the concept of ordering sushi & grill via I Pad from Düsseldorf and Hamburg. Mikado Koblenz, was unfortunately a huge disappointment here. Just coming in, the tightness was too much for me. Why do tables have to be so close together? You can hear the conversations of others who are sitting right next to you. You don't even dare to entertain yourself. This is very unpleasant. I don't know anything like this from other providers! I hate broken (chipped plates) like the plague. Unfortunately I had 4 of them. Something like that belongs in the trash immediately and has no place at the guest's table!!! The price for the dinner of 36.90 is far too high. Even in Düsseldorf I only pay just under €30 and get much better quality and selection than in Koblenz. The sushi was still ok. Nothing special. But some of the warm starters and grilled dishes were terrible! The gamba skewers were a hit here. Hardly any taste, far too soft and cold! I have never eaten such bad gamba skewers. Then we continued with Ebi Tempura and mini spring rolls. That was indefinable dough, deep fried! There was absolutely no taste! Incredible! The salmon from the grill was also almost cold and no longer tasted intensely of salmon. You couldn't eat the mushrooms at all. The beef fillet was cold in the first round, but thankfully hotter afterwards. This was quite tasty as was the fried chicken & gyoza. We really could have skipped the dinner option as most of the food wasn't tasty. The toilets are positive. They were spacious and clean. Plus, the service was really quick and attentive. The lady's name was Sofia and she is really to be praised. I also told her that unfortunately it didn't taste that good, which she dealt with very commendably. I was really looking forward to Mikado and am totally disappointed. So there won't be another visit from me!

Unfortunately, the quality of the store has decreased and the price has increased. The food sometimes arrives late and is cold, and orders are forgotten. The sushi's are drowned in mayo. Service was really top, extremely friendly, attentive and very fast. Unfortunately I can't recommend the food. The (fish) selection was actually missing. Similar restaurants with the same concept often had a greater selection of specials and warm dishes such as steak. Unfortunately, most of the fried dishes were very soggy or the dough was not fully cooked. To my regret, mayo is poured onto sushi almost everywhere.

Nice sushi bar with all you can eat buffet. The food always arrived very quickly, even though it was busy. There is hardly any space on a small table and you are practically sitting on the lap of the stranger at the table next to you. The seats by the window are certainly nicer here. Which is unfortunately an absolute no go for us, we don't offer card payment, very strange. Where else can you find something like this today? We wouldn't go there again if we were there. There are significantly better sushi restaurants and in comparison you definitely have to deduct points. For the price it should really be bomb, but there is still room for improvement.

At the beginning I would like to say that we are big sushi fans and we have wanted to eat there for a long time, which unfortunately turned out to be a disappointment afterwards!! We didn't make a reservation, but we spontaneously got a table. The young man was also very nice and the gentleman who served us that evening was extremely pleasant! We were told how it worked, what the prices were and were able to get started relatively quickly. However, I have to say that with the prices that are quoted there, I don't think it's possible to pay extra for certain dishes that are not included in the price - that was a big disappointment. The cocktail I ordered was good, the apple spritzer was very thin, although I have to say that the prices are actually in the upper range at 03. Unfortunately, the sushi was just average and not really the selection I'm used to. I think the concept itself with the tray is good, but it is limited to five dishes. Supposedly a sustainability issue every quarter of an hour! The ambience is okay, but not great either. I think that you are actually very limited in terms of space. We had a table for two and there were two people sitting right next to it, with whom we had to arrange ourselves so as not to restrict them in their activities!!! I give it three stars because the service staff was really nice. The food was okay for the price but not something I would have to do again.

This is an all you can eat Japanese restaurant. They charge 39 euro per head and drinks are on top of it. So you need to plan to spend at least 45 plus there. Is it worthwhile? I can’t tell you, because they only accept cash! We are travellers and did not have that amount of cash on hand (two of us). I wonder what kind of business they are running expecting people carrying around that amount of cash. Biggest disappointment on our entire trip in Europe.

Hello to everyone who reads the reviews first and then eats there. I've been to Mikado several times and I have to say at the beginning 1½ years ago it was still top quality, the food arrived quickly and warm and tasted good. Unfortunately today it was like the last few times, with more and more food arriving cold or 15- Waited 30 minutes. The service was solid, the new staff is and is becoming increasingly unmotivated. You have reserved a table, no problem, you are brought to the table and wait 20 minutes until one of the service staff comes. The atmosphere also deteriorates from time to time. Today it was very stuffy and warm and even though it was like that, no windows were opened. Conclusion: man goes home with a headache and stomach ache, that was the last time with mikado and I expect a bit more quality for 100 euros.

An sich schmecken die Speisen dort sehr gut. Oft werden sie Sushirollen jedoch in Soße ertränkt. Was das Essen und das Ambiente verbessern würden, wäre die Hygiene. Der Boden und die Toiletten befinden sich in einem unzumutbaren Zustand. Auch das Geländer im Eingangsbereich ist voller Fett vom Essen. Mehr Servietten am Tisch wären ebenfalls eine gute Idee als auch, dass der Service seinen Job selbst machen würde und nicht die Kunden darum bittet alles vom Tisch anzureichen. Essen kommt öfters auch vor den Getränken und nach Besteck muss bei manchen Servicekräften vergeblich mehrfach nachgefragt werden. Die dauerhafte defekte Kartenzahlung ist in 2024 genauso unangemessen.

We've been to Mikado a few times. And the food is solidly ok, that's how I would describe it. Now we were there again after a while and paid around 150 euros for four people. That's a lot of money considering that nothing has changed about the food so far. Unfortunately, there are no variants, nothing new is brought, etc. What annoyed me this time: people kept forgetting what I ordered. Some dishes were simply cold (for example the sweet potato fries). So somehow there's a little bit of variety missing. But the young people still go there. What should we change? It's a shame, something could have been made of it. For now, Mikado is over for now. I'm now switching to Moselweiss, the competition.

And tried out sushi, which you can buy at an additional cost. The all you can eat dishes are delicious Very bland and not fresh. Slight improvement when purchasing sushi. I booked the Mikado online without any problems and quickly received a confirmation by email. Until then, so far, so good. When we arrived, we were shown to our place in a somewhat neutral manner. In the middle, where the lighting of the Mikado is quite dark and not really my thing. The lighting conditions are certainly more pleasant at the window seats. The waitress explained the ordering process for all you can to us with the necessary information, but rattled it off so quickly that we had to ask. The food we ordered arrived relatively quickly. We consistently found the “grilled” dishes to be too fatty and the vegetables enriched with additives. Some of the sushi was good, but not as fresh and fluffy as we are used to from other Asian restaurants. I didn't find some of the waitresses that pleasant. They put the food on our table without a word and without any eye contact. But in return there were very nice and attentive waitresses. So it's a mixed bag overall. I wouldn't go to this restaurant again because I didn't really like it and the bottom line is that it's far too expensive (over 50 euros per person, despite all you can eat). It's no wonder if you pay 7.60 euros for a "homemade lemonade", 3.80 euros for a small beer, etc. That's a rip-off for me again.

Actually, we were always happy until the waitress “Naomi” shocked us when we were cashing out today with the sentence “I don't have any smaller” when it came to change and thus gave herself a 30 cent tip without our permission. It was only a matter of a few cents, but under no circumstances do you do something like that and then send the customer off with such a statement. She was obviously angry that we didn't give her a tip, but that was because we paid €3.40 for a Jägermeister that obviously didn't have 2 cl and our empty glasses weren't put away until the end.

Das Essen in der Mittagszeit. Personal nett, aber eher so, man führt freundlich den Job aus. Bestellungshinweise erklärt. Auf die Bitte heißes Wasser für den Tee zu bringen, da man mit den unbekannten Teesorten eher wegen Unverträglichkeit vorsichtig ist, hat man die beiden Gläser (Wasser) auf der Rechnung vorgefunden. Kannte man so noch nicht, aber ok. Kostet ja auch Strom. Nun, die 1. Bestellung von der Lunch-Karte war ok. Bei der 2. Bestellung (2x 8 Portionen) waren Salate (frischer Eisbergsalat). In der Soße ist auf dem Teller ein „ertrunkener Käfer“ (Küchenschabe) zum Vorschein gekommen. Nach der Meldung des Problems, hat man sich mit Klärung Zeit gelassen. Was da großartig zu klären war, erschloss sich nicht. Das restliche Essen 13, noch nicht berührten Schüsselchen/Tellerchen wurden nicht mehr angetastet und gingen retour. Es wurde weiter geklärt? Am Ende kam ein Mitarbeiter, der uns schon am Anfang in Empfang nahm. Hat sich entschuldigt und danach gefragt, ob wir noch essen würden, was von uns aus verständlichen Gründen abgelehnt wurde. Man hat uns angeboten 1 Essen von der Rechnung zu nehmen. Wir waren nicht scharf drauf, jedoch eingelenkt. 2 Minuten später, wurde uns die Rechnung (auf dem Tablet) präsentiert mit den beiden Essen und einigen Getränken drauf?! Auf die verdutzte Frage, dass ein Essen doch immer noch drauf ist, hat man sich auf die Kollegin von vorher bezog und dass es die Getränke von der Rechnung genommen werden sollen. Wie oben erwähnt es waren immer noch welche auf der Rechnung vermerkt, wollten wir uns nicht mehr mit dem Personal um das reklamierte Essen streiten. Das Personal wird schon seine Vorgaben haben „keiner geht ohne zu zahlen, egal wo der Fehler liegt“. Das Restaurant wird bestimmt auch besucht. Von uns sicher nicht.

You can't complain about the service, the food is also okay. There are now many veggie alternatives for all you can eat. What bothers me is the fact that the veggie/vegan and fish sushis don't come on separate plates. So it's always a bit of a search to find out who has ordered what. I think that should be changed.

Despite having a reservation, we unfortunately had to wait 25 minutes for a seat, for which we only received a short “sorry” at the end. After we had a table, the table that sat down after us was served first. After 80 minutes the last round had to be ordered because the kitchen was about to close. Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. The wait staff seems to be made up of students, who are generally very nice, but seem to be completely overwhelmed. We sat right next to it as dirt from the newly vacated table was simply wiped onto the floor, where someone promptly walked in shortly afterwards. There were several errors and things were missing or brought in too much. In terms of taste, the store no longer comes close to the quality it used to have. In addition, although it is not overly crowded, it is very loud.

I ate at Mikado for the first time yesterday and I have to say that the food was really great, the sushi was so delicious and the service was also top notch. The only thing that bothered me was the volume. The tables are very close together and it was difficult to have a proper conversation. But otherwise everything was really great and I will definitely come again

We ate here for the first time. The lunch menu offers a wide variety, and even if you don't like sushi, you can find a wide variety of other foods. Ordering is done via a tray and you have about two hours. Isabell, the waitress, was extremely friendly and explained everything to us in a very understandable way. The toilets should be a little more lit. But overall everything was excellent, from the food to the atmosphere and service. We really enjoyed the restaurant. When we are in Koblenz, we will definitely come back!

It's just a classic all you can eat suhsi, with the focus on quantity instead of quality. Nevertheless, the Suhsi is quite okay. However, some of the hot dishes arrived cold. In addition, an order doesn't come together, you wait 3 minutes for some things and 20 for others. This makes it difficult to eat together. The reason for the 3 instead of 4 stars is that the lunch selection has decreased enormously in the last year. There was a lot that was cut out. There used to be more vegetarian sushi in the lunch AND dinner selection. So I won't go there anymore.

Very tasty sushi. However, an all you can eat restaurant. Certainly a good choice for people who like to eat a lot and quickly. We would have liked to eat a la carte, but that wasn't possible. You have 2 hours. You can order a maximum of 10 things every 15 minutes. In the end, that's a lot. However, this predetermined rhythm tempts you to order and eat way too much. A surcharge will be charged for some dishes at the flat rate of 36 euros per person. Staff, wine, food were top. Ambience a bit too loud. But overall highly recommended. Maybe as a tip: only order every 30 minutes 😉

Quality of the sushi is okay. Often, not everything from an order arrives during rounds of all-you-can-eat. The service varies from good to bad, although it has to be said that the atmosphere in the restaurant is always pleasant and the spot at the Löhrrondell is really nice. What is clearly the motto here: quantity over quality. If that's important to you, you'll go home satisfied and full. If you want high-quality sushi, you're better off going to other stores.

We were here for my daughter's birthday and rather disappointed. We were warmly welcomed and my daughter was given a lemonade for her birthday. The friendliness of the service quickly diminished. You react with annoyance when you are told that the food was served cold. Personally, I don't think the principle, which is designed for sustainability, is bad. Now the BUT. You can order every 15 minutes, which is perfectly fine if the food comes quickly. We sometimes have 30 minutes. Waited for the order, which then arrived cold at the table. Pasta with duck was not possible because everything was never brought to the table together. It is therefore better to focus on cold dishes. In the end, after 2 hours, we were "kicked out" and the 4th order was only partially brought to the table, with the message that we had to leave now. My son "had" to eat the part of his order so quickly (it costs to return it) that he vomited after leaving the restaurant. The restaurant itself is very narrow and the air is difficult. You (perhaps) sit at the table with strangers, which makes the background noise annoying. When we left, guests were already standing in front of the door and on the narrow stairs. The stairs are also very steep and you have to squeeze in the middle between people, physical contact is inevitable. For over €200 you can eat better in other restaurants in peace, with friendly service and in a quiet atmosphere. You will not receive a receipt for the payment. It is impossible to understand what you paid for and what was charged. We won't be going to the Mikado again

We always go there when we are near the train station. The food is always fantastic. The Crossy Chicken is really crispy and very tasty! I love the noodles because they are wider noodles and not the thin ones you get everywhere else. The taste was great and they catered to all your wishes! (I had stomach surgery and was able to order an appetizer (special dumplings, a real treat! I would order again and again) and an empty plate to eat something from my family) I tried the Guava Lemonade on a recommendation and it was really very refreshing and delicious . Fresh lemon, fresh mint, a delight. The baked bananas with honey in a coconut coating are highly recommended. Fantastic! I would love to order just dessert three times. Clear recommendation from us!
