Meteora in Hannover

Very good restaurant near the HBF. Great starters, delicious food. To start, warm bread is served with a dip of olive oil and fresh oregano. Fried pepperoni as a starter and gyros as the main course. Unfortunately the gyro was lukewarm and the fries were too crispy. Very nicely decorated restaurant with live Greek music, very attentive waiters.

Very nice atmosphere with charming ideas. The boss is incredibly welcoming. The food (including Girosflaki) tasted quite good, but was difficult to digest despite the manageable portions.

The food was amazing 😍...and they served generous portions too. We had the Lemonato(Chicken), Lammhaxe (Lamb), Giros (Schwein)and Sufaki - they were delicious 👌🏻.We love love loved the wine and the atmosphere was so cool. The waiters were super nice and warm and overall we had a good time here. Definitely coming back...I love this place.

That was GARNIX! An absolute failure on Christmas Day, unfortunately. Our third visit to Meteora was really disappointing, especially with a family invitation for Christmas. From non-carbonated drinks ("...unfortunately it couldn't be better...", that was the boss!), to half-raw rack of lamb that was missing and later delivered, to completely dry fried/grilled meat. Reactions to subtle and very friendly suggestions were also very disappointing. I think you also have to keep an eye on the price/performance ratio. For four people, each with one drink, a bill of over 160 euros raises different expectations. Unfortunately NEVER AGAIN.

Great atmosphere, totally friendly and helpful staff

We were there for the first time and were immediately impressed. The service was excellent and the food more than impressed us. The vegetarian selection makes Meteora stand out in the corner compared to other Greek restaurants. Price-wise, it's totally okay for what you get.

The taste is good but when I order bifteki and after 3 forks I have to say, is that it?! Then the price doesn't match the portion at all. Nobody goes for less than €40 here, because a starter or side dish is definitely a must!

So, normally I don't like to give negative reviews. And actually I can't say anything about the food. Just as little as the ambience. Which is why I didn't rate in these categories. However, I found the service so unfriendly and arrogant that I actually bother to describe it here. And I would like to add that I in no way expect to get a table if I don't have a reservation (and especially not in the run-up to Christmas). However, after reading other reviews that people were able to get a table without a reservation even on a Friday evening in the run-up to Christmas, I thought we could give it a try. Which is what we did. And the fact that it's not possible, as I said, is a given, no problem. However, the fact that we were initially ignored by various (male) employees while waiting obediently in the entrance area, and then learned from a (female) employee that we cannot have a table at the given time without a reservation, made me uncomfortable because of her very arrogant nature so angry that it's important to me to report about it here. So that at least other people who may have similar experiences know that this can also happen with the service that is highly praised in many reviews. As I said, I in no way expect to get a table if I don't have a reservation. However, I would like to find out soon that it is not possible that evening. And in any case I would appreciate being informed about it in a friendly manner.

It was our first time there with friends and luckily we had reserved in advance. The beautifully designed and furnished restaurant invites you to linger and enjoy. The food is great and very tasty and the staff is very polite, friendly and radiates calm and serenity even in stressful situations. It was a successful evening all around and we will definitely come back. Thank you!

WOW 🤩 the most delicious Greek restaurant I have ever eaten at! Everything is to the point and very aromatic, a lot of effort is also put into the preparation, everything looks of the highest standard - and at still reasonable prices! And a super cozy and sometimes unusual atmosphere, you really feel at home here 🥂👍🏼 Now I can understand why the store was almost completely booked on a Wednesday evening 😳😅

We spent a wonderful evening at Meteora. The staff was extremely attentive, professional and friendly. There were six of us, we ordered various dishes and we were all very satisfied. We really enjoyed it. The ambience is also harmonious with pleasant music and beautiful furnishings. We were completely happy.

Incredibly good and high quality restaurant with friendly staff. We were here for the first time yesterday and for me Meteora is now one of the few really good Greek restaurants in Germany.

We have eaten at Meteora many times and are always impressed. The atmosphere is wonderful, the waiters are very friendly, attentive and motivated. I had an approx. 280 gram beef steak from the 800 degree Beefer, which was prepared at the table by the chef himself. Just watching it made your mouth water! The taste couldn't be beaten, it was simply top quality. There were also two gentlemen who played live Greek music. An excellent restaurant that deserves ***** stars.

The two of us came spontaneously without a reservation on a Friday evening. We were immediately greeted in a friendly manner and were able to get a table. The service is very commendable. Extremely friendly, accommodating, you are often asked if everything is OK or if anything is needed. Drinks and food came very quickly! And now about the quality. I don't know when I've ever had Greek food so good. We both had the meteora plate (mixed). All meat was on point and very soft. The vegetables were great, the fries and the sauces were immensely good. Salad buffet also great. Unfortunately we live in the Black Forest, but if we were here we would be regular guests. Highly recommended! Price is higher - but worth every cent!

The Meteora gets 5* from us. What stands out is the ambience and the service. The food was also largely good to very good. The souflaki and the bifteki alone couldn't reach the highest level of 5*. But we were very satisfied with the gyros, lamb, tzatziki, crème brulee and the starter with garlic bread and avocado. We really enjoyed the performance of the two musicians with a Greek musical performance, there were 10 of us guests. The mismatched music in the restaurant areas and the toilets is slightly annoying. The Meteora is a bit pricey. But the ambience, the service and mostly the food make up for it. Therefore, rating, recommended!

The food came so quickly and deliciously that there was no time to take photos :( The service was super friendly, the selection of food was fantastic (including seasonal recommendations), the atmosphere was harmonious and at the end of our evening there was also live music. We had a nice dinner experience. Go with a reservation, it gets busy. The products are high quality and delicious. I really recommend you try the chicken. Also, their toilet might be the funniest toilet in the world. Only the service was a little slow, we were quite hungry, but they compensated with their taste. They also played live Greek music and it was very enjoyable.

Meteora is one of the best restaurants in Hanover. The atmosphere is very cozy and beautifully designed. Friendly service 👍 I ordered the lamb fillet, and the meat was soft, warm and with delicious sauces. Definitely worth a visit! We also had the opportunity to briefly hear Greek music live. Quite a nice experience!

Reserve in advance! Very interesting and really tasty. Went there spontaneously with business partners, waited about 25 minutes (we didn't have a reserve) and it was worth it!

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here. Super nice restaurant. Very nice staff. Our babysitter canceled at short notice, which was absolutely no problem here. The food was delicious and the little ones really enjoyed it too. Always happy and highly recommended.

Meteora is our absolute favorite restaurant! The team is always warm and attentive, so you immediately feel welcome. The food is always tender, fresh and incredibly tasty - you feel like you're on holiday in Greece. The furnishings are also beautiful and create a real holiday feeling. We always enjoy coming back and can only recommend it to everyone!

Super nice staff and good food.

The restaurant is great. There were 10 of us with 10 different dishes (main and starter) and everyone really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is cozy and almost all of the staff are very friendly and smiling, with 1-2 exceptions who seemed to be annoyed by our large group, hence the deduction. We would go there again and again and definitely recommend the restaurant. We also got a small live music session

Very tasty food! Because of the different rooms, it never feels too noisy or crowded, even though it is always very full. On the penultimate visit there were small fried calamari on the fish platter, which unfortunately is no longer available - although you can logically leave out the cocktail sauce on the platter, because it doesn't go well with the other types of fish, which are already very well seasoned , which actually only went well with the calamari. Instead, I would love a slightly more exciting side plate. Dessert is also recommended, e.g. the Creme Brulee, which is flambéed at the table and smells so great.

Our absolute favorite restaurant in Hanover! This is where Greek food comes to a whole other level. A modern food concept: More than just the well-known classics. And in top quality. Furthermore, the service is excellent and the ambience is simply perfect. A clear recommendation! If you haven't been here yet, you should definitely check out the store! We love him. :)

An almost authentic Greek restaurant with typical and tried and tested Greek dishes. During peak times, it can take a little longer in the evenings, both during the week and on weekends, despite reservations. Good gyros and guests can put together a salad for each main course at the salad bar.

Best Greek I've ever been to! The service is great and the atmosphere is really nice. The food was fantastic! The portions are also nice and big. We were here on my birthday and there was even a dessert with candles and birthday music/singing. That made my birthday a lot sweeter.

I enjoyed it very much. Everything was to my satisfaction. I'd love to come back. Update: Been there again in 2020 and 2024. Still my first port of call when I'm in Hanover. Completely satisfied.
