Bestes Gyros in ganz Hannover. Die Portionen waren für die fairen Preise echt üppig. Absoluter Geheimtipp was griechische Küche in Hannover betrifft.

Heute waren wir erneut im Restaurant Ilion essen, denn schon beim ersten Mal hat es uns sehr, sehr gut gefallen und wir wussten da schon, das wir wiederkommen werden. :-) Von der Online-Tischreservierung bis zum Essen war alles perfekt. Wir fühlten uns herzlich willkommen, hatten super Service und eine nette, zuvorkommende Bedienung. Das Essen hat super geschmeckt. Liebes Ilion-Team, wir danken Euch für den schönen Abend und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Fünf Sterne sind mehr als verdient für soviel Gastlichkeit.😍

Es ist hier einfach wunderbar, wenn der Laden, wie heute, nicht gut gefüllt ist. Alles entspannt und auch das Essen sieht super aus. Wir schauen immer, wie das Gästeaufkommen ist. Ist es voll, macht immer einen großen Bogen, weil Küche und Personal dann extrem überfordert sind. Hannoveraner verzeihen das anscheinend, in unserer alten Heimat wäre dies undenkbar. Bitte bessert hier nach, dann macht es allen Spaß. Insgesamt aber toller Grieche um die Ecke mit Ausbaubedarf.

Immer wieder gerne. Das Essen hat ein super Preis/Leistung Verhältnis. Im Sommer kann man draußen sehr schön sitzen, das Restaurant ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Und ich muss auch die netten Damen vom Service erwähnen. Immer freundlich, aufmerksam, und wenn es die Zeit erlaubt, auch ein nettes Wort miteinander wechseln. Es war wieder ein schöner Abend, herzlichen Dank nochmal für die schöne Zeit.

Es ist immer sehr lecker. Das Essen ist immer auf den Punkt, zart und gut gewürzt. Gemütlichkeit kommt immer auf die Bedienung an, mal fühlt man sich unwohl und gedrängt, mal ist es super angenehm.

Wir waren an einem Sonntag um ca.16.00 Uhr, ohne Reservierung zu sechst, vor Ort. Wir bekamen einen schönen Tisch und wurden rasch und freundlich bedient. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist hier Top. Gutes heißes Essen. Ordentliche Portionen sowie ein guter Service haben diesen Tag abgerundet. Wir kommen gerne wieder..

Waren gestern mit 5 Personen zum Essen hier und hatten auch unsere 2 Hunde mit.Super schönes Ambiente und der Service war sehr freundlich.Auch um die Hunde wurde such gekümmert und jeder Wunsch erfüllt.Das Essen war der hammer und mega lecker.Die Portion sind super groß und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist echt klasse.Können dieses Lokal nur empfehlen und kommen garantiert wieder.

Besonders die Gastfreundschaft hat uns beeindruckt, man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Wer in Hannover wirklich gut griechisch essen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Ein großes Lob an das gesamte Team, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Sehr authentisches griechisches Restaurant mit wirklich leckerem Essen – geschmacklich genau so, wie man es aus Griechenland kennt. Die Qualität der Speisen überzeugt durchweg. Der Service ist ebenfalls hervorzuheben: ordentlich gekleidet, sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und professionell. Man fühlt sich willkommen und gut betreut. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt – und eigentlich als gut gemeinter Hinweis zu verstehen – sind die sehr großen Portionen in Kombination mit vergleichsweise niedrigen Preisen. Hier könnte das Restaurant im eigenen Interesse entweder die Preise moderat anheben oder die Portionen etwas verkleinern, um den hohen Qualitätsanspruch langfristig zu sichern. Insgesamt aber ein klarer Besuchstipp, den ich gerne weiterempfehle.

Typisch griechische Küche wird hier serviert. Es herrscht eine angenehme familiäre Atmosphäre.

Dies ist ein griechisches Restaurant, das wir ausprobieren wollten und das leider hinter unseren Erwartungen zurückgeblieben ist. Das Essen selbst ist eher unterdurchschnittlich, die Portionen sind zwar etwas größer als normal, aber auch nichts Besonderes. Für sich genommen hätte das noch eine akzeptable Erfahrung sein können, doch leider ist der Service ziemlich schlecht. Die Bedienung - eine schlanke Frau - wirkte deutlich passiv-aggressiv und vermittelte keinerlei Gastfreundschaft, sodass wir uns nicht willkommen fühlten. Die andere Frau war etwas angenehmer, allerdings schienen beide stark nach festen Gesprächsskripten zu arbeiten. Das Ganze fühlte sich eher wie ein Gespräch mit einem Roboter an als wie ein echtes Restauranterlebnis. Die Stühle sind zudem recht unbequem, und auch das Design ist eher unterdurchschnittlich. Das wäre an sich kein großes Problem gewesen, allerdings hatte ich deutlich mehr Geschmack und Würze vom Essen erwartet. Ein weiterer Punkt, der negativ aufgefallen ist: Als wir das Restaurant verließen, rutschte eine ältere Person aus und stürzte, weil sich das Restaurant offenbar nicht darum gekümmert hatte, den Gehweg direkt am Eingang - der noch zum Restaurantbereich gehört - von Eis zu befreien. Es sind grundlegende Dinge, die hier nicht richtig umgesetzt werden, und leider hat das insgesamt zu einem eher schlechten Gesamteindruck geführt.

Zu allererst möchte ich erwähnen, es hat zwar alles super geschmeckt und die portionen waren auch sehr gut, einiges hat mich trotzdem gestört. Ich kenne es so beim Griechen, dass wenn du ein Essen bestellst ist meist ein Ouzo mit bei bzw. wird zumindest Angeboten, hier war nichts, ist doch Nationalgetränk oder nicht. Als wir statt pommes zum essen, Tomatenreis wollten, wurden wir gleich komisch mit rollenden Augen angeschaut. Als Lieblingsrestaurant würde ich es jetzt nicht beschreiben, dafür war der Service zu schlecht und nicht wirklich einladend um nochmal dort essen zu müssen. Es lag auf unserem Weg nach Hause und zum ausprobieren okay. Achso, Achtung, möchtest du Mayo zu den Pommes, kostet es 50cent pro diese kleine Packungen und wir hatten den Eindruck, dass es nicht gemocht wird mit Karte zu beszahlen, bzw. getrennte Zahlungen.

Our go-to Greek restaurant for years! Always fast and super friendly service. The food is always delicious, the portions are generous, and the gyros baked in Metaxa sauce is especially amazing. A complimentary ouzo is always included. If you can't finish your meal, the team will happily pack it up for you to take away. In short: highly recommended.

Five stars are the only way to go, and it's always lovely, the food is always good, sometimes even outstanding! But today the entire team was simply superb! Cheerful, chatty, attentive, always there without being intrusive, and just exactly what you'd expect from a cozy, authentic, hidden gem of a restaurant around the corner! I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and say: thank you so much for the wonderful evening!!! My conclusion: go there!!!

The food is consistently fantastic – fresh, flavorful, lovingly prepared, and in generous portions. 🥙🍖🥗 Whether it was gyros, souvlaki, or the appetizer platter – everything was spot on. Particularly positive: the meat quality is top-notch, and the side dishes are fresh and well-matched. Add to that a friendly, family-friendly atmosphere, attentive service, and fair prices. With our daughter and my wife we ​​were at the Ilion restaurant on May 11, 2025 at 2 p.m., we usually go to the Meteora on Hamburger Allee. The plato plate came with fries instead of the rice we ordered. I was then offered rice, but declined because there was enough meat on the plate. The meat was okay, except for the gyro meat, which was sometimes too crochy and too salty for us. With my daughter, my wife and with me. It could be that the chef had a bad day, because the quality of the gyros was better 8 years ago. We didn't eat almost half of the gyros for the reasons mentioned. The salad was good and the service was friendly. Ouzo was also offered, but we don't drink alcohol.

Only recommended. Price performance is simply top. You don't go home hungry here.

A truly fantastic Greek restaurant. I've had food brought from this restaurant several times, and it's always been delicious. This was my first time here with a larger group, and we all really enjoyed it. The service was super friendly, the food, from the starters to the main courses, was delicious, and the portions were generous. I don't think anyone will leave hungry. The atmosphere is cozy, quaint, and clean. The prices are also totally fair. I'd be happy to come back. A big thank you.

For us the best gyros in town! Therefore chosen as our favorite Greek. On site at regular intervals - whether as a couple, with family or friends. Attractive menu, decent portions but the plate doesn't seem overloaded and if there is something left over, you are always offered to pack it up. Prices are reasonable and affordable. The staff is very nice and attentive. In terms of ambience, this Greek restaurant is very authentic and remains true to the family concept. No modern bells and whistles that would destroy the typical Greek flair. Another little tip: if you sit a little longer or don't decide on dessert, the coffee specialties are really good!

I've eaten at Ilion several times and have to say that the food is really delicious, from the meat to the sauces. In addition, the prices are very reasonable and the ambience and location of the restaurant are really great - super cozy and pretty 👍🏻 I will go back again and again and I can only warmly recommend it. The waiters are also really very accommodating and have made every evening nice for us so far 😊

The selection on the menu offers something to suit every taste, from classic Greek dishes to specialty dishes. The homemade tzatziki is also a real highlight! I will definitely come back.
