The food is really tasty and very good, the eye always eats with it and it looks and tastes really good as it looks. The bifteki and gyros are my favorite dishes and I like them a lot, the service was very nice, I've been there several times and at the end I always got ouzo on the house

For us the best gyros in town! Therefore chosen as our favorite Greek. On site at regular intervals - whether as a couple, with family or friends. Attractive menu, decent portions but the plate doesn't seem overloaded and if there is something left over, you are always offered to pack it up. Prices are reasonable and affordable. The staff is very nice and attentive. In terms of ambience, this Greek restaurant is very authentic and remains true to the family concept. No modern bells and whistles that would destroy the typical Greek flair. Another little tip: if you sit a little longer or don't decide on dessert, the coffee specialties are really good!

I've eaten at Ilion several times and have to say that the food is really delicious, from the meat to the sauces. In addition, the prices are very reasonable and the ambience and location of the restaurant are really great - super cozy and pretty 👍🏻 I will go back again and again and I can only warmly recommend it. The waiters are also really very accommodating and have made every evening nice for us so far 😊

The Greek restaurant Ilion in Hanover is highly recommended! The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, the staff is always friendly and attentive. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the food – fresh, aromatic and very lovingly prepared. The selection on the menu offers something to suit every taste, from classic Greek dishes to specialty dishes. The homemade tzatziki is also a real highlight! I will definitely come back. Five stars for this culinary experience!

Super tasty Greek restaurant, with incredibly huge portions. Even if it may not be particularly modern on the inside, it is precisely this “ambience” that defines Ilion.

Hardly any Christmas decorations, a shame

Under new management and unfortunately no longer recommended. Unfriendly, unprofessional and the food was just average. In addition... the table was ordered like every year. Former boss informed us about change of ownership. That's why we were informed! Accepting a little more criticism would be good. After the experiences, unfortunately not again after 30 years!

The atmosphere of the restaurant seems very run down, nothing has been done for a long time, which makes the restaurant seem unclean. It was very tight and there was hardly any space to eat properly. Service was friendly, courteous and quick. Portions were really huge and OK but nothing special, I've had better Greek food. In addition, the chicken was tough, the raspberries were also cold when served hot on ice cream, and there was no bread or sauces with every meal.

Nice Greek restaurant with very nice staff. The food was okay, not really anything special. Overall, it was packed and therefore very noisy; we had difficulty conversing at times. If you want to go here by car, you should be prepared to search a bit - typical Südstadt.

Very tasty and inexpensive Greek food with great and friendly service, especially for families with small children. This year we have, among other things, in Ilion celebrated two birthdays with 10+ people and several small children each. This is easily possible in the restaurant's club room. We were particularly impressed by the child-friendly attitude of the staff. We always thought the food was great, although if you're moderately hungry you should consider taking the "small" portions for adults, as most normal portions of meat dishes are very generous and often more than you can or would like to eat on your own. But it's also no problem to have leftovers packed up. The Ilion is a really great Greek restaurant and for us generally one of the first addresses for delicious food and friendly service in the southern part of the city!

There's nothing wrong with it. The food (and wine) was once again very tasty. We had the salmon on a bed of lettuce and the calamari 😋 It's nice that you can eat here every day and (almost) always get a small table.

Essen war an sich gut aber die Bedienung muss an sich arbeiten. Wir haben höflich um einen Tisch gebeten und wurden „genervt“ weitergeleitet. Es war voll,wir haben total Verständnis das es dann auch mal länger dauert aber nach 30 min hatten wir immer noch keine Karte und nicht mal die Getränke bestellt. Ich habe den Kellner höflich drum gebeten (da er schon Gäste,die seid 5 min dort sitzen bediente und die Bestellung aufnahm) uns eine Karte zu geben und ob wir die Getränke schon mal bestellen dürfen. Pampig wurden uns dann 5 min später die Karten in die Hand gedrückt mit der Aussage „ja aber ich habe noch zu tun“. Als wir dann endlich mal Getränke und essen bestellen konnten war ne Stunde rum. Uns wurde nicht richtig zugehört,ein Getränk wurde falsch geliefert obwohl es richtig aufgeschrieben wurde,wir baten zu den Bestellungen um zusätzliche majo und Zaziki,das vergessen wurde. Okay nicht schlimm fragen wir einfach nochmal nach. Ewig lange kein Kellner in Sicht oder man wurde ignoriert. Als er von anderen Gästen an mir vorbei zischte,sprach ich ihn schnell an und bat höflich um zaziki und majo was mit einem „Ja ,ja“ abgewinkt wurde. Nach weiteren 10-15 min warten kam noch immer nichts bis ich einen anderen Kellner erwischte und nochmals drum bat. Dann wurde der zaziki endlich geliefert,die Majo für die kids aber nicht. Ich hatte es dann auch leid nochmals zu fragen und zu warten,die kids waren schon traurig und genervt.Wir aßen normal auf und nach 2 Stunden mit insgesamt 1,5std warten waren wir fertig . Eigentlich war geplant das wir noch ein Getränk nehmen,eventuell Nachtisch aber auf die Bedienung und deren Umgang mit uns (31,25,10,4 Jahre) waren wir fertig. Wir hatten echt das Gefühl wir wurden als „junge dumme Leute“ abgestempelt da die ü40 alle anderes behandelt wurden und wir waren wirklich ganz lieb und freundlich selbst die kids haben sich benommen.

The portions are large with lots of meat. The starter plate was varied and ok. It's what you'd expect from Greek if you like it. The price-performance ratio is good. I ordered a Greek salad (14.50 euros) - it was nothing. Tomatoes, cucumbers, three olives and 3 pieces of feta, on the plate without bread and you're done. That wasn't ok for the price. However, the service was really attentive and friendly. We had a seat outside, which was pleasant. Not available everywhere in the city.

We ate outside when the weather was nice. The service was perfect. I would have liked to have the ouzo after the meal, but that was only a side note.

Spontaneously looked for and found a table for four people. We had several tables to choose from. Very nice welcome and attentive service. Gyros gratinated with Metaxa sauce, served with fries. I personally enjoyed it very much. I can also confidently recommend Gilde Beer. Price performance is completely okay. A good indication was that the shop was filling up more and more and almost all the tables were occupied.

..I went to the best Greek restaurant in Hanover today! The reception is always warm and you feel welcome. Before the meal there is an ice-cold, good ouzo. 👍 The food has always been very good and plentiful. Leftovers are welcome to be given well packaged. In summer you can sit outside in the very beautiful and cozy beer garden and are protected from prying eyes by many plants. I'm really looking forward to our next visit. geia sou! 🙂

The food is good, the service is a bit overwhelmed, all in all it's okay!

We drove past this inconspicuous Greek man for years. Because of the good reviews, we finally wanted to eat something here. We didn't expect anything out of the ordinary based on the photos and menu. Classic Greek with (like everywhere) increased prices. However, we were very positively surprised! Our waiter, who was very nice and attentive, assigned us a seat in the cozy outdoor area, which we were able to change again after another table became available (our table was a bit crooked). As mentioned, the menu has no surprises. If you want to eat Greek, you will find all the classics here. We decided on tzatziki as a starter and the farmer's plate and the Platon platter as the main course. So we had 4 different types of meat to test, along with rice and fries. So it couldn't be more classic than that ;) We were very impressed by the quality on the one hand and the very generous portions on the other - although the quality is more important to us... The tzatziki was very tasty. Class. The different types of meat are all juicy, tender and well seasoned. Rice good, fries cross and not greasy. Absolutely nothing to complain about. In terms of taste, one of the best Greeks I've had in a long time (and we've already tried a few!!!). In the end the bill came to just €50 for two people, which can almost be described as cheap considering the general price trend and what is on offer here. Conclusion. The Illion is on our list of restaurants that we would like to recommend and is now one of our top 3 Greek restaurants here in Hanover. Next time we'll try out more on the map. We have been regular guests at Ilion for about a year now. We really like the atmosphere in the restaurant and outside. The food and friendly service are without exception very good. The menu is varied and there is something for every taste. The price performance ratio is very good. The fact that the restaurant is always very busy speaks for itself.

The food was delicious as always. But it took a while until we could take the order. And then we ordered a salad that wasn't brought until we asked. Then came the crowning glory - we usually got a Uso in advance and we didn't get it either. I thought that was a shame .

My friend and I were spontaneously on a Friday trip and were greeted very courteously and nicely. We both ordered the grill plate and were not disappointed. The gyro was super crispy and very tasty. We would love to come back and recommend everyone to stop by.

Yesterday I had dinner again at the IIIion restaurant. + The food is good + the used dishes were unobtrusively picked up by the waitress - the price-performance ratio is now somewhat unbalanced - In many places, guests sit close together and are forced to listen to others Service by young waitress: - the guests are decisively interrupted in their conversations when the waitress feels like it Other than that, I didn't like the following very much. After arriving, I immediately ordered a drink and an appetizer. My friends who arrived later did the same. My drink came quickly, and other people's starters came just as quickly - after just 5 minutes. Only I had to wait a total of 25 minutes for my food after placing my order. Or 20 minutes after my companions delivered starters, I also received my first dish 🥴. That means I had to wait until others finished their starters and had their main courses delivered. It happened because the waitress decided for me to wait for my friends with their main courses. 😨 I was not asked about the topic in advance. 😵‍💫 When I spoke to the waitress about the issue, there was no apology, no insight or anything like that. At least then I got the portion that was waiting for me straight away. 👏🏻 But then a hint came in an extraordinarily delicious way: I didn't start eating straight away. 🤔 Suboptimal. ____ Here is my reaction to the restaurant's response. Wollten durch den Artikel in der in NP das Restaurant ausprobieren. Wir haben sehr gut gegessen. Habe meinen Hunger überschätzt u einiges nicht gegessen. Hatte eine Bitte die rote Soße sollte mit eingepackt werden. Habe mich gewundert, dass die Soße extra eingepackt wurde und mit 1,50€ berechnet wurde!

Das Illion ist seit Jahren ein Ort, an dem man sich wohlfühlt und ungezwungen einfach gut essen kann. Heute Abend hatte ich den Grillteller (Steak, Suzuki, Gyros) und es war hervorragend. Auch der Salat vorab war frisch und knackig. Frisch gezapftes Herrenhäuser vom Fass tut dann ein Übriges für einen schönen Abend im Illion.

If Greek then Ilion, We are thrilled every time. I hope that the chefs will do their best, no matter what we order - it's always delicious. The service is very nice and attentive, well the ambience is stuck in the 70s/80s but we like it a lot.

Came across this little restaurant by chance. Since we are passionate about Greek food, we wanted to try it out. By far the best food I've had the pleasure of eating. I can highly recommend the Metaxa sauce. We will definitely be regulars. Kudos to the chef!

The food has no quality. Quantity and price was ok The salad had a 1/4 tasteless tomato, a slice of tasteless cucumber Iceberg lettuce. The coleslaw at least had some flavor. I don't think the tzatzikki was homemade.

Vanavond 2 december 2023 hier een hapje wezen eten , we waren hier ivm de kerstmarkt Vooraf een tafel gereserveerd Bij aankomst vriendelijk welkom en naar de tafel begeleid . 2 bier besteld en deze kwamen snel samen met 2 Ouzo van het huis . Vooraf 1x champignon in metaxsaus besteld en 1x de Tomatensoep Hoofdgerecht 1x mix teller 52 en 1x de klassieke Gyros Nog een biertje en 2 x een Ouzo er bij besteld De voorgerechten waren heerlijk Ook beide hoofdgerechten waren top ! Heerlijk gegeten en gedronken . Ben je in Hannover dan kan je hier lekker en voor een normale prijs eten en drinken . Vriendelijke gastvrijheid , wat wil je nog meer

I've been in Ilion twice so far and intend to go back. The atmosphere is very nice and the waiters are really helpful and friendly. The food is great, straightforward and delicious. As a pescatarian I ordered grilled salmon with vegetables both times and it was really good. There are other vegetarian options that mostly include cheese (I remember a dish with eggplant and feta) but since I don't eat goat/sheep cheese, I didn't try them. Going back for sure :)

Mit Freunden aus Hannover hier essen gewesen. Was sehr lecker war. Service super nett und freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder :-)

Wir waren unter der Woche dort und es war um 19h recht voll, wir hatten reserviert, das ist wahrscheinlich auch zu empfehlen. Wir haben eine Vorspeise und einen Haupthang und etwas zu trinken bestellt. Nach der Bestellung passierte länger nichts und dann kam alles gleichzeitig, also Getränke, Vorspeise, Salat und Hauptgericht, sodass die Teller gar nicht mehr auf den kleinen Tisch passten. Das Gyros war sehr stark gewürzt, sodass vom Fleisch leider nichts mehr zu schmecken war. Das andere Fleisch war in Ordnung. Reis und Pommes waren lecker. Als die Getränke leer waren, war es sehr kompliziert neue zu bekommen. Der rote Hauswein war ok, aber nichts besonderes. Das Bier war aus der Flasche. Sonst ist das Restaurant schon stark in die Jahre gekommen und alles wirkt alt und etwas lieblos hingebastelt. Der Service war sehr freundlich und nett, jedoch nicht sehr umsichtig bei den Getränken. Insgesamt war das Essen und die Getränke, nach meinem Empfinden, sehr günstig.
