We were there with our company before Christmas. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We'd gladly come again.

Outstanding service with an excellent wine recommendation. Everyone in our group was completely satisfied with the food, and we were able to get a table for three spontaneously without a reservation. We will definitely be back!

Eliniko in the southern part of the city is one of our favorite restaurants and is a regular haunt for my wife and me (most recently on December 30, 2025). Our favorites on the menu: grilled prawns (gambas) or king prawns. Among the lamb specialties: chops and rack of lamb. Everything is prepared to order—heavenly delicacies. The service is expert and very attentive. Thanks to wine connoisseur Manuel, we discovered the divine red Amethystos. We've already planned our next visit. Peter Brandt

Unfortunately, my order was initially "forgotten." Then I was served raw souvlaki (I had ordered the PI platter), and after I pointed this out, they put everything back in the oven, so the gyros, cheese, and fries were bone dry. It was really disappointing.

Hi, I was there with my mom and dad. Lunchtime, pleasant atmosphere. The food was good, especially the gyros (fantastic!), the souvlaki was a bit firm and the vegetables were fishy. Warm bread was served beforehand and the service was good. I would recommend it. Lh

A somewhat unusual Greek restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The food is delicious, classic Mediterranean with a modern twist. The service was friendly and professional, though a bit mechanical and lacking in warmth, but the restaurant was packed, so this is easily forgiven. All in all, highly recommended!

Yesterday, my husband and I went to Eliniko for the first time. We came from another city for a concert. The food was a touch better, especially compared to other Greek restaurants I know in Hanover, but also relatively expensive considering the quantity. My pork medallions with blackcurrant were excellent. The otherwise positive impression was severely dampened by our almost immediate eviction. Without any prior notice, I was suddenly told, "How long do you intend to stay here? The next guests are already waiting." I went to the restroom after hastily paying and had to get dressed outside in the rain. When I returned, the tables were being broken up, my companions were standing there, somewhat bewildered, ready to go, and we practically fled the restaurant. A heads-up at the beginning of our gathering of 16 people that the tables would be needed again after 8 pm would have been much appreciated. Instead, we were unexpectedly told to leave soon. It wasn't said outright, but it was clearly conveyed through our actions. The almost unanimous opinion after this "eviction" was: NEVER AGAIN. What a shame. Furthermore, and this is only a very preliminary impression, the accessibility for people with disabilities is not ideal. In some places, you can only get through if the guests on either side stand up. This is problematic for wheelchair users, especially since a high step at the entrance makes entry difficult.

I was here in November 2025 with a large group and ordered the lunch special. The food tasted good, but the portion was far too small for the price. The plate contained five fries, a small amount of meat (a bit tough, but otherwise tasty), and a few pieces of sautéed vegetables. As I said, it tasted good, but when you pay €24 including tip for food and drinks and are still hungry, it's simply not good value for money. If the portions had been a bit larger, I would have given it four stars, and then the price would have been acceptable. As it was, it wasn't.

The food was good and there was plenty of it. What bothered me was that my gyros didn't come with tzatziki. No problem, I simply ordered more. What arrived was more yogurt than tzatziki! No problem for me, it was dessert then… The price was a whopping 7.50 euros. Outrageous.

We wanted to try the winning restaurant ourselves. Yes, it's quite good, but there are many other Greek restaurants that are just as good. It was okay, but the food is definitely too expensive and the portions weren't very large. We won't be going there again.

October 2, 2025: A man who keeps his word. We spent a wonderful evening in this beautiful restaurant. The mixed appetizer platter was very varied and delicious. We especially enjoyed the tzatziki. For my husband's main course, he had the gyro. In his words, "the best and juiciest gyro I've ever eaten." I had the lamb in a clay pot. A truly comforting dish that I would definitely order again. The dessert selection of panacotta, Greek yogurt, honey, and walnuts, and baklava with vanilla ice cream rounded off the evening. Our dessert highlight was the baklava. We really enjoyed our time at Eliniko. We look forward to our next visit. September 14, 2025: Well-located restaurant. I've driven past it many times on my way to work, and now my husband and I have finally made it to Eliniko. We had spontaneously called two hours in advance and reserved a table. When we arrived, we saw that the restaurant was busy but not fully booked. Nice ambiance, but a bit too cool for our taste. Unfortunately, the door was also open. It was a cold evening. We started with a bread basket and olive oil. Truly delicious. Then came a house appetizer (my husband had a slice of grilled zucchini, I had a slice of grilled eggplant). Also very tasty. For the main course, my husband chose the lamb rolls and I chose the sea bream. Here, too, we have only positive things to say about the taste. Unfortunately, the two lamb rolls were very small in portions for the price. The owner of the restaurant excitedly told us about his win on the TV show "My Local, Your Local" and offered us a glass of sparkling wine. We will definitely be back!

Eliniko is by far the best Greek restaurant I've been to. There's a good selection of dishes. There's even something for vegetarians. Homemade bread with olive oil is served before the meal, which tastes delicious. Especially when you're really hungry, it helps to bridge the wait in a tasty and pleasant way. The dishes themselves look smaller, but are very filling. The quality of the food is excellent and is one of the reasons why we like eating there. We've never been disappointed. The service is always friendly and authentic. The prices are in line with the quality. In our opinion, they're definitely worth the money. We'd be happy to come back.

The best Greek restaurant I've ever experienced. The service is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The ambiance is cozy yet sophisticated. And the food is the icing on the cake. I can't eat gyros anywhere else anymore. I've been there several times and I don't know if I've ever had a dish I can't highly recommend. My absolute favorite restaurant!

We were at Eliniko on August 8, 2025. The food and service were simply outstanding. I've rarely eaten so well in a restaurant.

We were in Hanover for a weekend, and of course, a visit to the MLDL winner was on our to-do list. We opted for the lunch special. The taste was absolutely outstanding. We've rarely had such good Greek food. The service could be a bit faster, as we sat for a while before we were seen and had already finished our drinks for quite some time before we finally paid. But all in all, absolutely recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ate at Eliniko for our 44th wedding anniversary and were absolutely thrilled with the service and, above all, the food. I had the best gyro I've ever eaten. My wife had prawns with chanterelles as a starter, which tasted like a holiday. The service was very friendly and accommodating; we received a friendly welcome and farewell. This certainly won't be our last visit to Eliniko.

We only give the chef 6 🌟, the food was delicious. I can't confirm reports of friendly staff. We were practically ignored. Very unpleasant and you don't have to put up with that. After the main course the table was just quickly cleared, no one asked if we wanted something to drink or dessert or anything else. The waiter didn't come to the table again and nobody was interested in whether we wanted to pay. And the highlight was the waiter didn't accept a tip. I've traveled a lot around the world but I've never had anything like this happen to me. Greek friendliness is nowhere to be found here. We'll never come back and don't recommend it either.

A deserved winner of "My Local, Your Local" - authentic, family-friendly, and excellently crafted cuisine. A friend and I enjoyed the lamb grilled on-site on Mondays, along with various appetizers. The service from Manoli and Mustafa was very attentive, professional, and experienced. The drinks were well-chosen and complemented the dishes served very well. We would be happy to return again and enjoy this culinary break from everyday life.

A super nice, friendly, and attentive team led by "Musti," the chef, a warm, natural, and attentive host who always strives to please his guests! A fantastic menu, not too overloaded, with something for every connoisseur. The welcome from the kitchen with homemade bread, the starters were fantastic, and the main courses were exquisite. The meat was a dream, whether gyros, souvlaki, or bifteki, all superbly flavorful, perfectly cooked and still juicy. Great side dishes, 12 points! Dessert was another highlight of the evening. I can say, in over 30 years of visiting many Greek restaurants... you are the BEST! Thank you, "MUSTI," for letting us be your guests. WE'LL BE AGAIN... next time on Mondays for the grilled LAMB. My third visit has confirmed the experiences of the first two: Eliniko is always worth a visit, and the food is worth every euro. But first, the chronology: The chef's welcome is warm and friendly, not contrived. He accompanies guests to their tables with courtesy and grace and offers them their seats. Orders are taken promptly and with great attention. Questions are answered competently, and tips are offered where appropriate. The staff is friendly, attentive, competent, and very well-groomed. They remain discreetly in the background but are quick to respond if any requests are made. You are never pressured or constantly asked for additional orders, something I have experienced in other restaurants where a certain greed for profit is paramount. While waiting for your food, you can admire the interior. Eliniko is cozy and tastefully decorated, not overly opulent. You simply feel at home. The food tastes fantastic, many of the ingredients are locally sourced, and the dishes are very tastefully prepared. As we all know, eating is a feast for the eyes. I'd like to highlight the special from the kitchen (goat cheese with raisin sauce), the many salad variations, especially the salad with caramelized chicken, the gyros, and the bifteki. Of course, it's impossible to try all the dishes on the menu in three visits. I'll leave that to the curious reader of this review. After the TV appearance, I absolutely had to stop by! When a TV chef says they have the best gyros here, you have to try it. And it's true, the gyros here are unique! Crispy, sometimes small slices, sometimes thick, you can tell it's handmade! Fresh fries, hand-cut, delicious vegetables, red sauce perfectly seasoned! Plus the Greek friendliness of every employee and the chef! What I don't like so much: You can sit outside, but you're sitting on a busy street. An unforgettable day at ELINIKO. We celebrated our wedding at ELINIKO, and it was simply perfect! From the very first moment, the service was first-class: attentive, warm, and professional. I was curious about the restaurant after seeing it on TV's "Mein Lokal, dein Lokal" (My Local, Your Local). We had reserved a table just in case (Sunday evening), but it wasn't necessary. There were plenty of tables available that day. The service team was friendly and attentive. We were served quickly. We were given a small house wine and an ouzo to finish. Our dishes were very tasty, but the portions were quite small. Therefore, one point deducted.

We were there on July 4, 2025, to round off our wedding anniversary with a lovely evening, and we were not disappointed. Quite the opposite; everything was as we had hoped. The ambiance, the service, and, last but not least, the food. So delicious! The prices are completely normal for Hanover. We found it very reasonable for the quality. It was our first time there, but certainly not our last. We noticed that there are many regulars, and that's how we felt when we left.

Actually, it was really delicious, but the bread was black, burnt, and bitter. And if the name of the baker Gaues, who is surrounded by a hygiene scandal, is more important than the taste, I have to say: despite the quality and all the hype, this was my last time there.

The restaurant was very crowded, making it a bit chaotic, and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. To start, we were greeted with a welcome drink from the kitchen and some super delicious, I think, homemade bread... I had an alpha plate. The portion was a bit small for me, but the fries were excellent. At the end, we were given an ouzo on the house. Conclusion All in all, good... Price a bit high; we paid an average of around €45 per person. I'd say it's worth it.

Der Chef, sagt ja, man lernt aus Kritik. Nun wir wohnen um die Ecke. Ich war bis jetzt nie dort essen, weil das Restaurant sehr groß schien. Durch die sehr gute Kritik in der TV Sendung und den wirklich sehr sympathischen Gastgeber, entschieden wir uns, es doch zu versuchen. Wir hatten reserviert. Als wir kamen, wirkte die Grösse des Restaurants und der sehr hohe Lärmpegel ,zumindest schwierig. Wir bekamen einen Tisch im hinteren Teil, wo auf ca. 20-25 QM mindestens 20 Personen platziert wurden. Die Abstände zum Nachbartisch waren so eng, dass der Weinkühler den Weg dazwischen so versperrte, dass man für einen Toilettengang alles wegräumen musste. Nach der Platzierung wurden wir nach 15 Minuten gefragt , ob wir etwas trinken mögen. Wir bestellten Wasser und eine Flasche Weißwein. Dieser war etwas zu warm, wir baten um Kühlung. Die Flasche wurde weggebracht und erschient erst wieder, als die Vorspeise fast aufgegessen war. Im Weinkühler, zunächst ohne Serviertuch, welches nach 20 Minuten nachgeliefert wurde, einschenken durften wir selber. Vorspeise Agnello tonnato, sehr lieblos auf einen Teller geschmiert. Geschmacklich .. man kann es essen, mehr nicht. Mein letztes Gyros aß ich vor 20 Jahren, den Hype versteh ich nicht, es war an einigen Stellen knusprig, aber hervorragend …nein, das Gemüse war prima. Der Ketchup kam nach 2 maliger Nachfrage.Die Lammröllchen waren lecker. Insgesamt war es viel zu voll, die Enge, durch die zu enge Platzierung, sollte überdacht werden , denn dadurch hört man viel zu viele Stimmen , es war zu wenig Personal, das mir leid tat, es wirkte gehetzt und unkonzentriert. Ich denke wir haben einen schlechten Tag erwischt, das kommt vor. Doch letzen Endes ist ( für mich) das Restaurant zu groß dadurch zu laut und zu schlecht( an diesem Abend) im Service. Ich denke ich wage keinen zweiten Versuch und wenn , dann Montag in der Mittagszeit.

Super friendly and attentive staff. I became aware of this restaurant through the TV show "Mein Lokal Dein Lokal" (My Local, Your Local). The restaurant looks quite nice. We had reserved a table for 7 p.m. two weeks in advance, but still had to wait 30 minutes for a table to become available. As an apology and to shorten the wait, I was offered a glass of sparkling wine on the house. Because of the show, my expectations were quite high. The fish I ordered was underseasoned and undersalted for my personal taste. The eggplant ragout tasted more like bland fare to my companion and could have been seasoned better. I would happily pay the restaurant another visit, though; everyone deserves a second chance. Unfortunately, the noise level at the restaurant was deafening. You practically had to shout to be heard. I measured it with a decibel meter out of curiosity. The average was 82 decibels.

A truly excellent Mediterranean restaurant. Good and friendly service, excellent food, a pleasant atmosphere, and not as loud as many other restaurants. Fresh vegetables with the meat dishes and the lack of a salad bar – everything was done right. We'll be back.

Today we met the star of this week's "My Local, Your Local" in person in the state capital. He gave us a warm welcome and was as authentic and friendly as he seemed during the show! The team listed the daily specials for us, and we opted for the baby calamari and the delta plate with gyros, which the celebrity chef called the best he'd ever eaten! And yes, it was delicious! At the end, we even got an espresso on the house. Thank you so much! Next time we're in Hanover, we'll visit this wonderful and stylish restaurant with what must be the most amiable chef and team again! Great job!

Das Bifteki ein Traum, außen kross und innen saftig. Der Geschmack ursprünglich. Für die Vegetarierin auch genügend auf der Speisekarte und es kam gut an. Die Vor- und Nachspeise muss bei mir sein und ist hier auch etwas anders als beim üblichen griechischen Restaurant. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich und der Chef fasst mit.

After Eleniko won the "My Local - Your Local" award, we knew we had to try this restaurant 70 km away... for us, it's the best Greek restaurant we know, with incredibly great meat dishes (the gyro is absolutely amazing!!). The "Octopus Pan" appetizer and the welcome from the kitchen were super delicious. The service is absolutely top-notch, and the chef is super friendly. The atmosphere is fantastic - we immediately felt at home. The premium ouzo is amazing - at the end, the chef even gave us a Metaxa Reserva on the house! GREAT!!! Thanks for the great service! PS: Next time we'll have a fish platter!

Absolutely recommendable. Reservations recommended! A friendly welcome from the chef, followed by excellent service. The food is very good, but I would like to point out three tiny improvements. 1. Yes, the authentic Greek fries are usually not crispy, but a little more would still be nice. 2. If they offered a small salad as a side dish, that would be a great addition to the menu. 3. The selection of wines by the glass is small, and the quality is limited. Not everyone can order a whole bottle from the excellent wine list. But a good glass of wine at a reasonable price wouldn't break the bank and would certainly be very well received. One more point: The friendly and extremely competent server mentioned such a large selection of dishes available outside of the menu, but of course, without prices. I know that the perch would cost over 30 euros, and I could afford it, but you can't ask how much it costs for every dish. Therefore, please include a handwritten additional card with the daily recommendations and only mention the 3 absolute top highlights 😉

Excellent service, very accommodating, they also offered daily specials and wine recommendations. They recommended a wine to go with the dish. I had the Agnello Tonnato as my first course. Super tasty, much better than with veal, nice and thin, not too salty. (I'll remember this to try again.) The lamb rolls with vegetables of the day and feta cheese sauce were super delicious. To finish, there was a delicious cheese platter. I'll definitely come back again with my dad :) The atmosphere is pleasantly quiet (in terms of the setting, the decor). When the place is full, it gets a bit louder, of course, but you feel like you've arrived :)

Das Gyros hier ist einzigartig, wir haben noch nie so ein gutes Gyros gegessen (genau wie Sternekoch Christian Henze es bei „Mein Lokal - Dein Lokal“ gesagt hat). Nicht nur das Essen auch der Service und das Ambiente sind herausragend. Wir haben ab sofort einen neuen Lieblings-Griechen.

We were here for the first time today – and we're absolutely thrilled. The gyro here is unique; we've never eaten such a good gyro (just like Michelin-starred chef Christian Henze said on "My Local - Your Local"). Not only the food, but also the ambiance and service are outstanding. We're absolutely thrilled and now have a new favorite Greek restaurant.

Today we visited the winner of "My Local, Your Local" at lunchtime. We both opted for the lunch menu consisting of baked feta and bifteki with homemade fries and vegetables. The feta was beautifully creamy. The bifteki was well-cooked and juicy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. When Musti learned we were from a bit farther away, he treated us to a variety of desserts and, last but not least, the obligatory ouzo. Thank you so much. It was a great lunch. We'll definitely be back. The gyros is supposed to be incredibly delicious.

I was there last year and was absolutely thrilled. I've probably never had such good Greek food as here. Highly recommended. The food, service, and ambiance were all exceptional.

With as much arrogance as the old man at My Local Your Local is displaying, we will never enter the shed.

Pleasant, attentive, and friendly service. The gyros were good quality, but the fries were unfortunately not crispy. This was my first Greek restaurant where the main course didn't come with the traditional salad. "You can certainly order it separately;" okay.

Beautiful ambience and wonderful service. Very accommodating and attentive and super nice!!!! The food was delicious. My son and I had gratinated Suflaki €19 - I missed the salad, otherwise it wasn't particularly "great" and the house fries were far too flabby for me. My husband had a grill plate that was also good, although the rice could have been better. my daughter-in-law had the vegetarian noodles. They tasted amazing. Rarely have I had such a delicious sauce. All in all we had 120€ (including cokes, wine, beer).
