Eliniko Restaurant in Hannover

A perfect Saturday evening. First visit to Eliniko. Great welcome from the start and fast, personal and attentive service. Wonderful wine recommendations for excellent dishes. Good explanation of all dishes and wines. In addition to the extensive menu, there are also various daily recommendations. Very happy again!

It was very loud. The food itself was good, but the chicken was a bit dry and there was no sauce! For more than €20, that's a pretty small amount. Likewise the starter plate for 4 people; For €80 it also seems very steep to me. Staff was also a bit hectic, probably because there was a lot going on in general. Nevertheless, it took care of the guests.

Attentive service and very good advice. Food was very fresh and tasty. There was a mix-up with one dish, but my friend got both for one price. That was very accommodating and makes the visit even nicer. We were able to sit and talk for a long time, the atmosphere is inviting.

The Greek restaurant has a convenient location - it is not far from the center of Hannover, on one of the central streets. Delicious wine is served with an appetizer that you didn’t order, and such attention is always nice. The cuisine, service and atmosphere are at a high level. I think that the secret of the success of this restaurant is the refined taste of the owner and his personal presence.

Really great. I thought for a long time whether I could think of any small detail that could be criticized, but there was really nothing that could be criticized in this restaurant. Good service, very good food and ambience. Not typically Greek, everything in blue and white but still very well furnished and pleasant.

Great place with excellent service. Greeted by a great guy who translated the specials for us. Food was wonderful. I had lamb in a clay pot which was superb and a great combination of tastes. My travelling companion had squid as a starter and a rack of lamb and rated it very highly. A complimentary glass of ouzo and we on our way within an hour. Excellent all round

More appearance than reality! There were five of us at a table of 4. Ok, the restaurant was full, but way too full for my taste and therefore uncomfortable. The food was ok. A Greek, after all. A little more upscale than standard. But nothing outstanding. But that's what the prices are for. Which are appropriate. But the kicker was that we were charged twice for a dish and drink and we had to spend a really long time debating that we had all paid. This means that they have no overview of their guests. I'm surprised at the good reviews here. Unfortunately I can't confirm that at all. But maybe they only know mediocre food for a lot of money and bad service.

The food was really great, but the service staff seemed a bit overwhelmed at first. Maybe it was because we were there as a group, at lunchtime and with a pre-order. All in all, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

A very nice restaurant with incredibly nice staff. The food was simply amazing!!! So delicious. Will be our new regular restaurant.

It started off great and then unfortunately it fizzled out. The gyro was a bit tough and over-seasoned. The fries could be crispier. But the service after we had our food is not good at all. Despite being spoken to several times, we were not served. Only when someone complained did anyone move. Couldn't reorder drinks. And so did dessert quite late. When we wanted to pay, it took half an hour. Regular guests were more important here. A pity !

A very culinary evening at Eliniko.

Unfortunately, the food here didn't taste good at all, at least the chicken I ordered… But the service was okay.

There aren't that many restaurants open on Mondays anymore: perhaps that's one reason why the service seemed lackluster that day. Eliniko used to be a reliable address for quality food, service and ambience. On Monday the food was basically okay, but the service already brought the main course when the starter was not yet completely eaten. Drink requests with the main course were not asked at all. It's a shame - we used to host many a family celebration there.

I can absolutely recommend it to everyone! We told the service that we were under time pressure and they said it wasn't a problem at all and took our drink order while he led us to the tables. Afterwards there was very tasty bread and a mushroom salad as a starter and, taking our situation into account, we were recommended the lamb fillet with rosemary potatoes. The food arrived within a few minutes and was very delicious. In summary: super delicious food and really attentive, customer-oriented and super friendly staff!

We were on the way home to Mittenwalde. We saw the restaurant at a gas stop. We liked the outside. Very friendly service and very good food. A snack before the meal and a drink (e.g. espresso, ouzo) afterwards. All in all very recommendable.

A very nice restaurant with very good, tasty food. The portions are very rich. The waitresses are very friendly and attentive. The ambience is nice. However, in the room on the right (seen from the entrance) it is very loud when the room is fully occupied. The acoustics aren't exactly good. However, parking spaces are in short supply here. You have to see whether or not you can get a parking space on the neighboring streets. Otherwise, this restaurant is highly recommended.

Even though card payment was offered, the device didn't work. They were neither prepared to write us an invoice nor to transfer money online on site. We were sent to the nearest bank to pay in cash. That's not what I consider to be good service.

For me, this is currently the best Greek restaurant in Hanover - and I've tried a few! The quality of the food is simply top and the service? Nice and accommodating, just like it says in the book. A tip from me: If you love prawns, definitely try the grilled prawns! They taste so good that I almost think they could grow wings and fly away - but don't worry, they stay on the plate! So, grab your friends or family and treat yourself to an evening full of delicious food and good mood. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

Great food with excellent hospitality. We have been there several times and will come again. Really the only drawback is finding a parking space. But that is a general problem in Hanover

We were there for the first time and we were really impressed! The service is professional, attentive and yet unobtrusive. The atmosphere is fresh, modern and very inviting. The quality and taste of the food was also top notch. We'll definitely be back :-)

Just seeing the long-haired cook without a hat over the cast iron is enough to discredit the restaurant and, by extension, Greek cuisine. In the end we Greeks will never become Europeans. Pity!

Compared to my previous experiences with Greek restaurants in Germany, I have to admit that Eliniko is in a completely different league. Starting from a TOP service, a very, very good quality food (both starters and main courses), to an exquisite selection of wines. I can't remember anything close to equivalent. I can't confirm the many positive reviews. We went to Eliniko at lunchtime today. The food was bland and lacked any spice, typically Greek is something different for me. Service was a bit arrogant, which reflects the general ambience of the restaurant. Generally not a pleasant experience and I don't recommend it.

Greek with a difference. The menu was sleek for a Greek, it was very bright and modern for a Greek, it was very calm for a Greek. Greek food cannot be composed more beautifully. Modern, light, playful and high quality! The prices were very pleasing, the food was a composition. I always criticize Greeks where I have to pay extra for tzatziki, and I had to here too. But that's just complaining to find something. Compliments to the chef, the waitress and the person responsible for the decor. Everything done right and exactly to my taste! I'll be back, I promise

We ate at Eliniko for the first time today. We have been completely satisfied for a long time. Mega attentive staff, a very nice owner, beautiful restaurant. And above all, an honest atmosphere, not this fake friendly one. The food was also very good. Not too much, just enough for us. We will definitely come back, even if it is about 45 minutes away. 👍🏽

Great food, but when the restaurant is full it is very loud

The food and service are simply outstanding. If there is a large group sitting nearby, the noise is enormous.

The best Greek restaurant in Hanover. The employees were very nice and friendly and the boss was a top man. The boss even swept my little son's dirt onto the floor. Keep it up, you're a great team. Thank you for the great evening and always happy to be with you again.

Unfortunately we had to wait 20 minutes for our reserved seat because the restaurant was very full, but the waiters were very nice and handed us a Prosecco straight away. The food was fantastic, typically Greek but also unusual dishes. The ambience was very chic, but it was very warm in the room.

As always, right at the forefront. Only the price is a little higher, but you know that beforehand. This happens once a year.

An incredibly great Greek restaurant! We were there spontaneously early on Saturday evening and had a tight time window before attending a concert. The food came very quickly (pork fillet - very tender and so tasty, pasta truffled with high quality lamb strips) and was wonderful. Every single employee was extremely warm and courteous. We felt so comfortable, it was like coming to family! We were only there for 45 minutes and would have loved to stay longer in this particularly outstanding restaurant if we had had time ;-)!

Simply fantastically delicious food with Mediterranean Greek cuisine. Pleasant service and really good prices for the good quality. Went there as a couple and were surprised because it is otherwise always full and looks like it would be unaffordable in this place. But a look at the menu more than surprised me. The prices are really good and what was brought to the table was absolutely top quality. From the fried vegetables to the homemade fries and extremely tender meat. The portions were not as overflowing as at a typical Greek restaurant. There is also a lot of choice, daily recommendations from the house and therefore easy 🔝. Can really be recommended with 10 out of 10 points.

We were at a trade fair in Hanover and luckily came across this restaurant while browsing through the restaurants. The food was excellent (especially the fried vegetables - and that has to be saying something when I say that as a meat lover.) and yet the service still managed to go the extra mile. Very accommodating and charming. I can only recommend the restaurant to every lover of Greek cuisine.

Great restaurant, service very friendly and atmosphere wonderful. When I eat with the ambition of 30 euros, I would like to take away some points. Lamb rolled with goat cheese etc. The taste was great - (unfortunately) the lamb dried out a bit. The hand-cut fries are very good - some are totally burnt and the others are soft after 5 minutes. Maybe fry on two heats. I think that's the claim for the price. The messes were a bit dull, tomatoes tasteless in winter - you have to come up with something. The sauce was very successful and the spinach was on point.

Silvester 2021 war das Menü super, 2023 schlecht. Gambas von vier waren zwei mehlig. Die Kartoffeln waren vorgekocht und das Gemüse sehr weich. Der Seeteufel hatte einen Beigeschmack. Der Nachtisch Mousse war am Nachbartisch größer. In allem waren wir zu viert dort und etwas enttäuscht.

Das Eliniko hat unsere Erwartungen in jeder Hinsicht übertroffen. Das Essen war nicht nur ausgezeichnet lecker, sondern auch mit viel Liebe zum Detail zubereitet. Der Service war herausragend – aufmerksam, freundlich und stets präsent, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken. Das Ambiente schaffte eine angenehme Atmosphäre, die das kulinarische Erlebnis perfekt abrundete. Die unerwartete spezielle Probe am Ende war ein großzügiges Highlight. Insgesamt ein unvergessliches kulinarisches Erlebnis. Definitiv 5 von 5 Sternen!

Spontan in Hannover auf eine Empfehlung hin im Eliniko gewesen. Grandioser Service, richtig gutes Essen, toller Wein zum fairen Preis. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Obwohl es bis auf den letzten Platz ausgebucht war, erlebten wir schnellen, aufmerksamen und freundlichen Service. Vielen Dank an das Team. So sollte ein Restaurantbesuch sein - klare Empfehlung!

2nd attempt; After ordering take away for a little Greek party @home, I have to revise my review: the quality of the food, especially the lamb, was exceptional. They were also very friendly and helpful to my significant other when she picked it up. Will give the restaurant itself a 2nd chance next time. So far: 4 stars 😊 Old review: Don’t know where all the excited reviews come from. We tried the lamb speciality which is completely overpriced and just mediocre. A normal Turkish restaurant will easily serve better stuff. Staff is neither friendly nor fast, forgot to bring the second round of drinks. On top the tried to bill a kids portion as an adult one. No excuse but only a deeply annoyed reaction when brought to their attention. Becoming „a favorite restaurant“, which is their claim? No way

Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort und es war ein gelungener Abend. Von der Lautstärke der Marienstraße bekommt man im Innenbereich nichts mit, wir wurden sogar gefragt, ob uns die Musik an unserem Sitzplatz zu laut erscheint und wäre angepasst worden, hätte sie uns gestört. Ein Gruß aus der Küche und frisches Brot wurden gereicht, bevor unsere Vor- und Hauptspeise eintraf. Das Essen war sehr lecker, unterschiedliche Geschmacksnuancen die gut zusammen passten, bestens temperiert und wirklich ansehnlich angerichtet. Auch das Dessert hat uns vollends überzeugt. Bei dem Wein gab es eine gute Beratung und zum Abschluss noch ein Ouzo. Wirklich sehr schön hier und definitiv nicht unser letztes Mal!

Ein Erlebnis! Hier bekommst Du einen ganzen Oktopus. Geschmacklich wunderbar. Und absolut bezahlbar. Eine Freude für Gaumen und Geldbeutel 😀

Es war ein sehr netter Abend im Rahmen meiner Geburtstagsfeier mit der Familie. Als Vorspeise haben wir eine Empfehlung des Tages gewählt, die sehr Fischlastig war, aber geschmacklich unübertroffen. Auch fürs Auge ein unglaublicher Genuss, sehr liebevoll angerichtet. Der Hauptgang hat alle Gäste mehr als zufrieden gestellt, man hat die Frische der Zutaten deutlich geschmeckt. Ein großes Lob an die Küche, die den Hauptanteil an meinem gelungenen Geburtstagsessen hatte. Qualitativ sehr hochwertig … wir werden wiederkommen. Vielen Dank für diesen unvergessenen Hochgenuss.

Dies kann man nicht mit wenigen Worten beschreiben. Hervorragende Qualität der Speisen. Eine äußerst hervorragende Betreuung durch den Service und dem Chef persönlich. Alles in allem ein erstklassiges Restaurant welches nur zu empfehlen ist. Auch wenn wir ca. 79 km entfernt wohnen. Wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen.

Ein tolles Restaurant mit einigen Außenplätzen. Ausgefallene Griechische Küche, besonders gute Lammgerichte. Zum Dessert sollte man das Hugo-Sorbet probieren.
