Food is very tasty, very friendly staff, a lot of things are served before the main course comes, you definitely go home full. I can recommend it 100% and will be back soon!!!

We have been here twice now and I can't say enough about this hidden gem. Wow wow wow. Phenomenal food hands down and the metaxa sauce omg. My husband and I got the mixed platter and shared it amazing. We also had baked feta as an appetizer. The owner is so nice. We will definitely be back and next time with friends. We have been to several placed in Greece and this place takes us back there. It is cash only but that doesn't stop us. The atmosphere is wonderful. I always say don't judge a book by its cover. Please give this place a try. I'm so glad we did.

I had ordered a table for our Christmas party on November 30th, 2024. When we arrived and I said my name we were taken to the back table. It wasn't asked if I ordered. It was very loud in this party room next door. Drinks and food were ordered. Drinks came very quickly. Soup from the kitchen was cold, then the salad came and immediately afterwards the food. My fries were lukewarm and my gyros in Metaxa sauce weren't hot either. I also had to ask after dessert because nothing came. They preferred to polish glasses. There wasn't much going on. Something like that doesn't work. Service has deteriorated significantly. I will no longer recommend the restaurant. one star is still too many.

Well I have to say, normally I go out and eat and it's really tasty... BUT: I ordered the plate for 2 to pick up for the first time today because unfortunately there was no other option... I am extremely disappointed!! It feels like a third of the amount there is on site, obsessed with side dishes that were even on the menu... and I paid €55 for that... WHAT A Pity!!!

The Metaxa Greek restaurant is a true gem for lovers of Greek cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and immediately transports you to the heart of Greece. Klar wir waren an einem Feiertag zum essen es war viel los aber von einem Restaurant mit so vielen Plätzen kann ich eine gewisse Professionalität erwarten ausser man ist auf Profit aus . Wir wurden ins hinterste Zimmer gebracht als wir dort allein saßen kam auch niemand mehr ob man noch was möchte! Die Vorspeise wurde schon falsch gebracht dann musste einer warten . Der Salat wurde lieblos auf den Teller geschmissen und Dressing drüber gekippt. Bei meinem Essen waren die Bifteki schwarz trocken und versalzen. Das Gyros war auch versalzen . Bezahlen geht nur Bar ich musste dann noch auf eine Bank zum Geld holen. War das letzte mal wo ich dieses Lokal betreten habe . Ein verschenkter Abend! Danke für Nichts

Staff was friendly and fast with drinks and food. Fried feta was breaded and not wrapped in filo, still good though. The grilled dishes were excellent and the house sauce over the meat was delicious. For one beer, one water, #72 souvlaki, and mixed grill plate it was €52.

Excellent food and service. À warm welcome from the owner and we very much enjoyed the plates. Delicious meals, the lamb was perfect and the Rhodos combo mix was fantastic. Huge portion, so you can share easily a plate.

The food and service were very good, the staff as well as the owner were always friendly. This is the second time we have been there and we continue to eat there whenever we travel in this direction.

Our hotel was just on the other side of the traffic circle from this great Greek Restaurant. We had lunch one day with two meals, which include soup, salad, our meals and dessert. Plus Yanni came over at end of the meal with bill and Ozos for all three of us. The meal was very reasonable for the price. We enjoyed it so much we went back later in the week for take away in the evening. We will definitely return whenever we are in Ramstein. Yanni thank for your kindness and being a great host.

We went here for the first time with friends that go here often. We loved the atmosphere and the owner was very nice. We had good service and the soup and salad were very good. Both mine and my husband's dinners were excellent. We will be returning to try other dishes. Hopefully, the weather will be better and we will be able to sit in the beautiful courtyard.

We visited Metaxa on a hot summer evening. From the friendly family welcome to the vegetable soup as an introduction and greeting from the kitchen to the delicious dessert and the obligatory ouzo at the end, everything was just right here. The main courses were deliciously prepared, tasty and well seasoned. A very clear recommendation for Metaxa in Ramstein.

They’re so nice here! The food and wine was great. They put a lot of detail into their food. The man taking care of us noticed I was struggling with the fish bones, then brought us a digestif. :) We’ll come back!

I had the lamb chops with a dry red wine (I think it was the Athos?), and it was absolutely incredible! The service was amazing! Before the lamb was brought out, they brought a homemade chicken soup and bread with their metaxa sauce (a smokey tomato sauce that was delicious!), after the meal they brought fried dough with whipped cream and chocolate sauce, and ended the meal with a complimentary shot. The bill was a little pricey to go as often as I'd like, but food is absolutely worth the price!

Our son and dil treated us to dinner here. The owner was so kind and gracious. Even gave us some shots of Ouzo before and after our meal! My hubby and both had the pork kabobs and they were delicious! The kids had a platter for two and the portions were so generous we all could have shared it. Ended the night with a little sweet bread treat. My first time at a Greek restaurant and I enjoyed it! Oh..and great wine selection too!

The food was extremely salty. Gonna have to double up on my blood pressure meds now. Seriously, was not good, nothing like the Marko’s Greek restaurant in Aviano. Very disappointing.

My husband and I had dinner here tonight. Everything was delicious and we‘ll definitely be back! It started with a complimentary bowl of soup with bread and their Metaxa Sauce. Then we had their salad. So refreshing! Later our main course arrived. My husband ordered the Gyros Teller and I had the Ouzo Teller. Then we had a complimentary shot of Ouzo!🥰 Lastly we had a complimentary fried donut balls with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.🤤 The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. Our waiter and waitress was so friendly. If you love Greek food then this is the restaurant to eat at. Enjoy!😉

Today we celebrated our birthday in a small group at Metaxa with 7 people and a small dog. Colleagues recommended the restaurant and didn't promise too much. A great host, very good service, the food was plentiful and very tasty - all in all a very successful evening! Even my 83-year-old, rather skeptical mother said that she would like to come here again. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Card was bad Valentine's Day and card drinks very overpriced and unfriendly

We were at this restaurant with 5 women on the occasion of my birthday. We were greeted by a gentleman in his late 50s with a rose (it was Valentine's Day). As soon as we sat down at the table, he forced himself on my daughter, who is half his age. He seemed to have expected her to accept his advances and kiss him. When he was told not to do this, he reacted flippantly and tried to make fun of it. To order drinks: Apparently there was no drinks menu. He then tried to talk us into wine, but we refused and asked for a cocktail instead. He then offered a mojito, but brought half-full glasses with an indefinable orange liquid (we assumed Sex on the Beach). He didn't take our complaint seriously, but insisted that it was Mojito. When we left it like that but asked that the half-full glasses be filled at least to the full, he ignored this and left the table. At this point, 45 minutes had already passed and we had not yet received any inquiries regarding meal requests. We then decided to leave the restaurant. In the parking lot the gentleman came running after us and tried to talk me into a discussion: "It was just a joke with a kiss." I have no idea what drove this gentleman, probably no one has ridden him for a long time. My recommendation: As a woman alone, I would avoid this store. The food may be good, but only if you are accompanied by a man.

Friendly host. Food good, but overpriced.

Had dinner there for the first time yesterday. The atmosphere is very nice there and the boss is unique! Serves with a lot of charm and is there for his guests. Go from table to table and there is plenty of ouzo! Before the main course was delivered, there was a delicious soup with toasted baguette and hot sauce. And after the main course, dessert. At first I was a bit shocked by the high prices, but after the starter, dessert and ouzo that was put into perspective. I've visited many Greek restaurants, but I've never seen so many "free" additions. The food itself was really delicious!! Meat was well fried and tasted very good. It also didn't have the typical character of Greek food as we know it in Germany. A very own seasoning with, I think, typical Greek spices. I can give a very clear recommendation and will come back if I'm ever in the area again. Keep it up!!!

Wir waren begeistert! Hatten nicht reserviert und bekamen noch einen Tisch für 3 Personen. Die Preise sind etwas angezogen aber man bekommt dafür eine kleine Vorspeisensuppe mit Brot und Ouzo aufs Haus, außergewöhnlich. Was wir noch hatten war ein Nachtisch, den wollte der Chef uns spendieren, wir haben uns aber daran beteiligt. Die Hauptspeise selbst war Super! Vielen Dank für den sehr netten Service wir werden Euch wieder besuchen.

Everything was sooo good! The service was excellent! Would recommend the stuffed mushrooms and dolmathes or honestly, I don’t remember the name but it was fantastic!!! I got the gyro plate #74 and it was really good! And they brought us a dessert I don’t know what it’s called and it was also delicious. Es war unser erster Besuch hier. Jahre lang drüber gesprochen und nun endlich mal spontan umgesetzt. Wir waren positiv überrascht. Das Essen war sehr lecker, der Service war 1A. Das einzige was ich zu bemängeln hätte ist der Geräuschpegel. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen, gar keine Frage.

Das Kuriose an diesem rührigen, im Kern kompetenten Restaurant ist, dass man in Betriebsblindheit unterzugehen droht. Zum einen ist das Ambiente (Deko, Inventar) in den 1970ern stehen geblieben und im Außenbereich reichlich abgenutzt. Zum anderen ist man völlig unkritisch, wenn die Speisen mal verunglücken. Der Koch, heißt es dann mit einem leutseligen Achselzucken, sei im Urlaub, und die Ersatzkraft wisse eben nicht zu würzen. Geht’s noch ? Das Ganze ist wohl nicht nur eine Geldfrage. Der Eingangsbereich ist mit allem Möglichen und Unmöglichen (Putzmitteln etc.) zugestellt, ja zugemüllt, sodass dieses Sammelsurium dringend ausgemistet werden müsste. Weniger wäre hier mehr. Eine Vorstellung, wie man sich als griech. Restaurant stilgerecht präsentiert, ist wohl kaum vorhanden. Schade, denn Kochkompetenz und Freundlichkeit sind unbestritten.

Leider ist das Lokal ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Hier müsste man dringend gründlich renovieren und auch das Mobiliar sollte man darüber nachdenken vielleicht das ein oder andere gegen Neues zu ersetzen. Trotzdem sind die Angestellten sehr nett,freundlich und gut gelaunt.

Wer gutes Essen und einen klasse Service mag, ist im Metaxa genau richtig! Der Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!!!

Delicious Greek food. You will get the full treatment here. A full course dinner with your order. The staff is friendly and the food is seasoned just right. Bring cash though no credit cards. Bring you appetite because you get a lot. The parking is a little tight. It seems that all the good restaurants are short on parking. The owner will make you feel so welcome. This is one of our favor spots since 2014.

Truly the owner makes this place an incredible experience! We ordered the lamb, which came with a pepper stuffed with rice and fries. Along with this we had soup, salad, bread that came with a yummy spicy butter, champagne, and the owner brought us shots and an amazing dessert. In all honesty the lamb was a tad more cooked than what I prefer, but everything else was delicious! The atmosphere was very well done with nice decoration, fresh flowers, and great people! We will definitely be visiting again 😃

What you really look for when you're looking for a local and family-owned business. Lots of reviews mention the owner and the shot of whatever is given (ouzo, so drink responsibly!), but we were welcomed and taken care of from the moment we entered to when we left. Fix was great with large portions, and we were even made to wait to pay our bill so that the kitchen could provide us with a nice homemade dessert, on the house and complimentary! Outstanding service from a family that you can tell really cares about their product. Recommended if you're looking for Greek in the Ramstein area!

Met enkele collega's zijn we hier wezen eten. Ik had geen voorgerecht genomen omdat de hoofdgerechten altijd zo groot zijn bij een Duits-Grieks restaurant. Echter was het hier een normaal portie, voor mij groot genoeg. De bediening was vriendelijk en we hebben een lekker toetje van het huis gekregen.

After a long Sunday of walking Ramstein and waiting for daughter to pick us up after her shift at Landstuhl Hospital, we had the most magnificent dining experience at Metaxa! They roast their lamb the way it is supposed to be roasted! Their service was more than contengial - we felt like family! We were the second table seated (at 5:10 on a Sunday) and it filled up FAST! Be sure to make a reservation if you don't want to eat that early. Highly recommend anything they have on the menu - the taziki is delicious!

We had reservations for the 3 of us. We were on time and quickly shown to our seats. The service after that was non-existant for our table. This was our first (and last) time there. We were looking for a good Greek restaraunt in the area. Others who arrived after us were brought their menu, drinks and even food wile we were still waiting for a menu. We spoke to the service personel twice, including one who appeared to be the manager, to see if we could get a menu and drinks and were told someone would be right with us but they were more interested in talking with the other guests which appeared to e regulars. The wait staff would serve and check on the table next to us ut ignored our attempts to get their attention. After 45 minutes we got up and left. There is another Greek restaraunt toward Kaiserslautern and one in Landstuhl that have good food and prices, we were hoping to find another alternative. In the 45 minutes we waited we could have driven to another local Greek restaraunt or even a good one in Kirchheimbolanden or Ludwigshafen, next time we will instead of wasting out time here.

Fantastic meal for two, delivered on a large tray with a flaming pineapple on top! Spectacular presentation, delicious lamp chops served with soup, salad, fries, rice, and plenty of tzatziki sauce. Family-run operation, bright and cheerful decor. Will definitely go back and bring friends! Highly recommend.

The place has plenty of parking so driving here is no trouble at all! The decor is insane in a great way, it made me feel like I knew a little bit of Greece just by coming in here and experiencing the vibes of the decor. The staff is amazing and super friendly! They speak great English and communication was very easy and pleasant. Cappuccino- the drink serving size is pretty good and the flavour is pretty nice as well. Once you order they bring you a little basket with freshly toasted bread and a pretty yummy dip. STUFFED MUSHROOM- this is a very good snack before the meal, the amount is good for sharing and the taste was pretty dreamy. The meal came with a house salad that had a pretty interesting and delicious dressing. LAMB IN METAXA SAUCE- I cannot say I liked this dish, but I think it is not the dishes fault, I think that I was not a fan of the way lamb is made in the greek style. I felt it was a bit too slaty for me but the friend I was with got the same dish and she loved it. I really liked that the dish came with a nice tasting sauce and plenty cheese. FRENSH FRIES- the fries here were pretty good, but keep in mind if you like condiments ask for them right away as it is not customary here in this country to serve any meals with condiments. After the meal the owner gave us complementary desert and a couple of aperitif shots and I thought that was very nice of him. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Eine Vielzahl von Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichten verbirgt sich in der Speisekarte. Besonders zu empfehlen sin die Gerichte mit Metaxasosse. Ein Gruß der Küche gibt es vorne weg. Tischreservierung ist oftmals erforderlich.
