Nice place, food was sometimes a bit tough, but that's what you get with an all you can eat. Very friendly staff and the atmosphere was fine, just a bit dark.

This Chinese establishment probably ultimately changed tenants several times. But most guests probably don't care about that at all, and why should they, the main thing is that they can load up the unclean plate. Yes, unclean plates are also an issue. Very varied food, very well stocked sushi 🍣 bar. Live cooking at lunch and dinner, chocolate fountain. Drinks all inclusive for 16 euros at lunch and 28 euros in the evening. The only downside is that there is no crispy fried duck here, I prefer the duck crispy. Absolutely recommended

When we had to wait in line in front of the entrance for about 5 minutes, we were skeptical at first because a lot of guests were arriving at the same time and you had to pay in advance. Given the number of guests, this is somehow understandable, to ensure that a number of people don't leave during the smoking break without paying 😂 Contrary to expectations, there was good management inside and there were hardly any long waiting times at the buffet counter. Everything was always refilled in a timely manner and the waiting time for wok plates was absolutely great Since the whole thing tasted good, we were satisfied even if the interior wasn't particularly inviting

Mengu Buffet is by far the best restaurant in the world according to the toogoodtogo app. Especially at lunchtime! I've been there a few times and was amazed at how much you get for €4.60. The food was great and the four of us were able to eat it. The quantity was also good, because that way you could ensure that a) you could save a lot of food from being thrown away and b) that the Mengu Buffet is one of the few restaurants that really attaches importance to ensuring that very little food is thrown away and that the customer can help save it. Great shop!

Great restaurant, dishes all tasty and warm which was actually less the case in most cases. The option to have the dishes freshly prepared at the Mongolian is also great. Everything was clean and tidy and modernly furnished. The service was good and the staff was nice.

We always eat here with large groups - it's really perfect for that. Everyone can eat and drink as much as they want, which is fantastic. We always have lots of children/young people at Mengu - there is something for every taste. The food is always warm, is often topped up, and there is also a large selection of desserts (some of which are frozen). The kids always look forward to the visit. In fact, the background noise is very diverse and sometimes loud. The service is reliable and at the end you get to take a fortune cookie.

Ok for the occasional Chinese meal. But it doesn't bother me personally because there are a lot of ready-made products. In addition, a lot of it is stretched with water. But you also have to admit that the price is absolutely ok. It's also a matter of taste. I think it's very good that the food can be purchased from around 9:30 p.m. for very little money. Simply pack Tupperware containers and take the rest with you. All in all a good restaurant.

It's actually a nice place, but it's very loud and strange that you have to pay straight away. The food is not of that good quality. You can already see the mass processing.

I now have to lower my initial good rating significantly. The reasoning is very simple. An impossible service. Paying 20 EUR for a 6-year-old is already steep, and paying the entrance fee without even eating anything adds to that. You pay and are then brought to the table. To pay without trying the food in a restaurant... But we accepted. We went there for my son's birthday. We didn't expect to get anything or anything like that. But then to receive such treatment is borderline. The restaurant wasn't even half full. We were shown to the table and got our first meal. Some people were eating, others were just getting food. Then the “boss” came and said we have to change things now. Mind you, the restaurant was half full and some of our party were already eating. This is a farce. Carrying around children's food and drink again. Mengu didn't help either. But the new place was just cheeky. Right at the cloakroom, every guest had to squeeze past us and with a wonderful view of the plate and drink return area and the open garbage 1m away. Really nice atmosphere. Especially since it wasn't full. Absolutely incomprehensible and a reason for us not to come back. For the price there is significantly more hospitality elsewhere.

People were lining up at the entrance, you were called in by your last name, the other guests outside didn't want to let anyone pass because they had also pre-ordered, I was about to leave, this concept should be reconsidered and revised. Some guests probably waited outside for 2-3 hours. The food was delicious, fresh refills were always made and the service was super friendly.

In short, a visit is only recommended in an emergency. You pay before you eat (causes confusion) then three employees talk to you (confusion plus 100) Some of the food is either very bland or cold. Peanut sauce and fries are an example. Furthermore, mayonaise is not recommended. The rest is fine school grade 3.5! So if you expect top food you shouldn't go there. The service is weird. The employees wear Airpods and dart around the tables. As soon as you have finished eating, the plate is cleared away in front of your eyes at the speed of light. In the meantime you are afraid that the plate will tear your forehead. The ambience is ok but nothing special. It's even a bit tight. So if you like cuddling you should go there! Overall, one has to say it is not recommended but one cannot expressly warn either. If you go, you shouldn't have too high expectations, otherwise you will be disappointed.

A delicious and enjoyable meal with family. Even though it is not next door to us, I regularly meet people I know here.

Of course, tastes are different. For example, the duck is not crispy and the peanut sauce tastes neither of peanuts nor of spices. In Babi Pangang, the meat is tough. The fact that you have to pay as soon as you enter is not a big deal, but it is very unusual. In my opinion, the Chinapalast in Kleve is better, also in terms of the friendliness of the staff.

The food was quite good. The toilets were below all dignity. I asked the waiter to look at the toilets. He just shook his head and mumbled something under his breath. Impossible. And I find it impossible to pay in advance. Definitely too expensive for 30 euros including drinks.

Hallo zusammen, ich kann die Kritik leider nicht ganz nachvollziehen. Wir sind seit einigen Jahren Stammgäste dort. Wir waren immer super zufrieden. Qualität der Speisen sind hochwertig, alles frisch. Das Speisen aus einem Buffet schon mal etwas kälter sind bzw nicht kochend heiß, erklärt sich von selbst. Die Speisen die häufig genommen werden, werden öfters aufgefüllt. Das die anderen Speisen sich abkühlen erklärt sich auch von selbst. Das Personal ist freundlich. Das es keine Arbeitskleidung gibt,ist richtig. Aber wir gehen wegen dem Essen dort hin und nicht wegen der Kleidung des Personals. Über Gemütlichkeit lässt sich bekanntlich streiten. Doch es gibt deutlich schlechtere Restaurants die sich selbst als gehoben darstellen. Wir fahren von Straelen- Herongen immer nach Kevelaer, obwohl wir in Straelen auch einen Chinesen haben. Macht weiter so. Wir kommen gerne immer wieder dort essen. Und das man an den Wochenenden reservieren sollte da es voll ist, spricht ja wohl für sich.

Buffet didn't taste like anything, was lukewarm, dessert was partly frozen, the frozen boxes of food were carried through the restaurant, had nothing to do with China and that for €30 🫤

I find the selection of food a bit small and the space at the buffet is very limited. When we were there it was very crowded so you had to wait when you went. All in all it was okay for the price.

Food was just not tasty, only grill was fine. Service unfriendly.

Rating: 2/5 The food in this restaurant was fine, solid and tasted satisfactory. Unfortunately, the overall experience was greatly marred by the way the waitress handled it. We were still eating around 5 p.m. and politely asked if we could stay longer, even suggesting we pay extra for it. Although the restaurant was almost empty and there was obviously no acute need for space, we were refused without discussion. Instead, we were very rudely asked to get up and leave immediately without being allowed to finish our coffee. Unfortunately, the sloppy and rude manner of service completely destroyed the atmosphere. It's a shame, because with a little more courtesy and friendliness the visit could have been much more positive. Overall, a disappointing experience - there's more to a restaurant visit than just the food.

My review of this restaurant. At the reception the owner or the staff could be a little friendlier. a little more smile on your face. After all, you want to have the feeling of being welcome here. The selection isn't that big here. Most things tasted the same. The only friendly staff was the table staff who constantly cleared away the dishes..... positive point here are the drinks (all inclusive) drink until you can't take it anymore... different wines... coffee. And lots of soft drinks... Price-performance OK as far as the drinks don't cost anything.

Buffet costs €28.90 per person including as many drinks as you want. There could be a bit more choice at the buffet. Sushi works like this. Otherwise the food on offer was very tasty. One could perhaps describe the sauces available in more detail. What was unfortunately very negative was that at 9:30 p.m. some people came for Too Good To Go and cleared the entire buffet, so to speak, even though the actual guests were still sitting in the restaurant and had paid the full price. So we as guests couldn't eat anything from the buffet, even though the restaurant was open until 10 p.m. Very unfortunate.

Were there for the first time. It was the first time that I had to pay in advance in a restaurant 🤔 The food was okay, drinks included. It was impossible that the empties (bottles, boxes) were in the restaurant. This is not only very unsightly but also incredibly loud! ( see image).

Natürlich kann man für 30 € inklusive Getränke nicht viel erwarten, aber normales warmes Essen ist das Mindeste, was wir tun können. Wir gaben zu verstehen, dass wir nicht zufrieden waren, aber man nahm uns nicht ernst und lachte uns aus, sehr traurig und lächerlich! So kann man Kunden nicht behandeln. Absolut NICHT zu empfehlen und Sie werden mich hier nie wieder sehen.

So we quickly started with some desserts, which unfortunately weren't anything special. Now of course you can't expect much for €30 food incl. drinks, but normal hot food is the least. Indicated that we were unhappy, but they did not take us seriously and laughed at us, very sad and ridiculous! That's not how you treat customers. We've been there many times, it was always good, now I had fish and vegetables fried, it tasted very good, a friendly employee helped me with the sauces. Service and operation were very friendly and helpful. We'd love to come back. The Mengu Buffet continues to do good business so far.

I would say - I had the worst Asian buffet of my life here. In the evening I had the impression that the food from the lunch buffet was simply used. The fried foods in particular tasted lukewarm and sticky. The fresh meat had dry spots. But my stomach could handle everything.

After several years I have to adjust my review. You just don't feel welcome there anymore, here you have your "paid" ticket and you're done. It used to be really great and then it slowed down a lot. Price is okay considering that drinks are included.

The restaurant is located a little outside and there are enough parking spaces. Unfortunately, the playground is totally loveless and looks out of place. Unfortunately, it can also be very loud inside, simply because of the size of the rooms. The food is okay, but some of it just isn't tasty, such as the duck, which just isn't crispy, just limp. The staff is very nice and totally helpful.

We like to come here either as a family or as a couple. You can always eat very well here, the atmosphere is fine and the service is also excellent, the food is very varied and the price is reasonable.

We wanted to celebrate a nice graduation there and ordered for 50 people!! Unfortunately the restaurant was unable to arrange the tables to form a beautiful table. So we all had to sit at small tables scattered around. We were placed in the area where empty bottles, dishes and cutlery were collected. The service staff did this at a loud volume! The food was quite good, unfortunately relatively unseasoned. All in all, you can eat there and you'll be full! In our case it was a real shame.

We were there for dinner. The buffet including drinks costs 25 euros per person and offered a lot! The food was fresh and tasty, the selection was large. The drinks included in the price were also really good. Vio lemonade, Coca-Cola, iced tea, beer, wine, coffee. There's nothing to complain about when it comes to price either. No cheap stuff and everything in original bottles. Top. There was fresh salad, various fruits, sushi, different types of fish and of course the classics. Duck, chicken, fried rice etc. I have reason to complain about the drums. Some of the service staff were more busy with their cell phones than with the service. There were also guests on either side of us with music on their cell phones and very loud, private videos. I would have liked the operators to intervene here. Unfortunately they don't have it.

We had dinner there on Saturday with four people. We booked a table in advance, which was definitely better as it was very busy in the restaurant. Payment was made in the entrance area and then we were allowed to choose a seat. You were allowed to take drinks from the fridge free of charge; these were included in the price of 29.99. The food was okay, some tasted better, some tasted worse. The selection was very large and plentiful. In particular, the buffet for "having it fried" was very balanced, even if it perhaps offered a little less than in other restaurants. The buffet wasn't the biggest in general, but it was still great. Unfortunately, a few of the signs were no longer up to date or were simply wrong, so we reached for pork and ended up with fish. All in all it was OK, but we wouldn't come back. It was also just too crowded. Price/performance top.

The food is always delicious, the waitresses are always polite and courteous, everything inside is clear and the outdoor area is getting better and better. From the playground to the fish pond, everything is there, very nice again.

So it can be classified in the middle category, but as an employee you should stick to the opening times even if almost all the guests are gone by 9:30 p.m. And the rest of those who are still there don't feel like they're rushing to eat because they want to call it a day...

The brochure states that the buffet is open until 2:30 p.m. However, there is no information about whether you have to eat your meal before 2:30 p.m. or whether you can stay a little longer and finish your lunch. It was noticeable that the employees were waiting for all the guests to leave the premises. A brief information at the entrance would definitely make the whole situation easier and otherwise the whole restaurant was great and tasty. Worth a recommendation.

The food selection is very large, unfortunately the quality was significantly better before Corona. There has always been a lot of breaded food (it must have come from somewhere for the owners, but now a lot of frozen goods have been added to the vegetables. If you like frozen broccoli, ok, not me! The range of drinks on offer is very good, all branded items!! The service can no longer be described as such, especially since the huge room at the back was added. It's just pure mass processing of employees who barely speak German and just silently take your plates away. Unskilled cheap workers. If you value a LOT of food, mediocre quality and don't care about service, this is the place for you. In addition, he has to accept an atmosphere like in a large canteen because it has become incredibly loud due to the construction and the crowds. I don't need to say anything about the cleanliness of the toilets, especially during peak times. And the fact that you have to sit to the left of the entrance area next to stacks of empty drink crates and other stuff leaves you speechless. Last but not least, when you go in and out at peak times you walk through a large crowd of smokers, great, even as a smoker I find that unreasonable. A large area, but all the ashtrays right at the entrance - bah! Conclusion: Go there during peak hours, have things freshly fried, eat lots of salad and rice, then it's good and, above all, the meat is still HOT!!! Have a good meal!
