We received a warm welcome from the owner! The wait was about 30 minutes, just manageable for younger children. But the pancakes and poffertjes were delicious!

While searching for a restaurant in Kevelaer, we came across this pancake house, which had attracted attention with its consistently positive reviews. I can definitely recommend this restaurant! Starting with hygiene, I can say that the restaurant itself and the restrooms are very clean and well-maintained. During our stay (three times in total), the restrooms were checked and cleaned regularly. The dining room itself was also very clean and tidy. The service staff and the co-owner made every effort to accommodate all our requests and regularly inquired about our well-being – a definite plus. We felt very comfortable. The food is also highly recommended; it was prepared quickly and served promptly – and at a relatively affordable price! We therefore definitely recommend this restaurant! We are always happy to return.

Pancakes look different and taste better

I've never had to wait so long for a pancake, and I've been to many pancake houses. The batter really had the consistency that others have mentioned: as if it had been made hours ago and simply reheated. Normally, you can cut a pancake with a fork, but you don't need to apply massive force with a knife. It was also burnt in a few places. I'd rather make my own fresh, tastier ones next time. I can also confirm the slow service. I have no idea what other people think about this.

All good things come in threes. We gave this restaurant a chance for the third time. Unfortunately, it was another complete failure. The beer we ordered arrived after the pancakes, and only after a reminder that it was missing. Once again, we waited what felt like an eternity for our food. The pancake batter tasted like it had been prepared the day before and reheated. Mine was a pancake with ham, mushrooms, onions, and black pudding. I could have replaced the sausage with fried eggs if I wanted. I got a whole fried egg. Price-wise, an egg is cheaper than meat, and the slices of cooked ham were thinner than the pancake itself. It was more reminiscent of a crêpe than a pancake in terms of thickness. Overall, all I could taste from the ingredients were dripping onions. My companions on the last two visits felt the same way. The service was friendly but the professionalism left something to be desired.

I thought it was just bad luck the first few times, but this was my last time there. Drinks that are forgotten (sorry, but why write them down? Write them down, pour them, and bring them over. That takes less than 5 minutes), pancakes with leathery batter and difficult to cut (a consistency like that has nothing to do with a pancake), and dressing that you can choose for your salad without anyone asking. The kitchen then completely forgets the dressing, and when you ask them again, they don't ask, but just slap any old dressing on it. Great, and then 18 euros for a leather pancake that a schnitzel was wrapped in, with a dressing that you couldn't choose, and canned pineapple. It took ages for the food to arrive. For prices like these, it's really just sad. After several chances, this restaurant is now dead for me.

Friendly and attentive service on an attractive terrace

We come here every year after a day in Ireland. Very good food and friendly staff. The wait is a bit long, but not a problem if you're in good company!

We stopped by spontaneously and had a meal. The food was beautifully presented and of very good quality. The owner is very friendly, approachable, and nice. We would love to come back.

What a disappointment! After we were seated, we received the menus. Before we could even order, we were told that there was unfortunately only one person in the kitchen, meaning it might take longer to prepare the food. Several other people were waiting outside for their orders. I'd read some previous reviews and hoped these were just isolated incidents. Unfortunately, we weren't in the mood for this. We decided to just order drinks. Even those took ages to serve. Such a shame. This is how you lose customers. We certainly won't be back.

Don't go there on an empty stomach hoping to get a pancake "quickly." The staff is seriously understaffed. Drinks are served, but you have to allow plenty of time to place your order; even if you order right there inside, nothing takes less than an hour. That's not going to win you any new customers.

No staff. After over an hour without food, we left. The owner was probably too stingy to afford a temporary employee.

Very nice atmosphere outside and very friendly service. Good price quality ratio, good portions, tasty food, spotless restroom. If you have time, a nice place to enjoy a drink and meal.

Waiting an hour and fifteen minutes for four pancakes with children is truly unacceptable. It wasn't even very busy. The owner tried to make up for it with a free drink—which I appreciated—and explained that her husband, the kitchen manager, had gone shopping around dinner time and the kitchen staff couldn't manage it. That's unbelievable! The owner was friendly, but otherwise, the wait staff was also quite chaotic. This situation with extreme wait times really affected the atmosphere with hungry children—and a pancake restaurant is supposed to be for children. I'm sorry this is the determining factor in my final rating. It's a real shame, because the pancakes were delicious! Thank you for that. There's also a wide selection of savory and sweet options, and even a deliciously spicy Sri Lankan curry. It really could have a lot of potential if the organization were a bit better.

Here you'll find delicious food at very reasonable prices and with friendly service. Where else can you find something like this? We'll definitely eat here again the next time we're in Kevelaer.

We were warmly welcomed by the waitresses and were immediately shown to our tables. Cutlery was immediately set out. I ordered the Normina pancake, and the delivery was fast and delicious. The waitresses were very friendly and sociable. And the atmosphere was very calm and relaxing.

Never again. The food is way too expensive. The quality of the food is really poor for what you pay. I had the Pedro pancake with chili con carne. Chili sin carne would have been more appropriate. The pancake with asparagus and chicken was also rubbish. We ate it because we didn't want to just pay for nothing. The waitress spoke almost no German. Communication was difficult.

Food was perfect, but the service was terrible they forget my orders… also they are very slow and when it was time to pay they ask me cash or card and with cash it was 8 euro more then by card because they made a mistake with counting.

We spontaneously stopped by the Pfannkuchen Haus for lunch today. It was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. The restrooms were super clean and very lovingly decorated. If we come back to Kevelaer, we'll definitely stop there again.👍👍👍

We stumbled upon the pancake house by chance and were thrilled. We felt welcome. The atmosphere gave us a holiday feeling. The food was delicious and visually appealing. Special requests were no problem. We would love to come back. We arrived as strangers and left as friends.

We stopped by for dinner spontaneously. The food was very good, both visually and in terms of quality. The price/performance ratio was good. The staff was also very friendly. We would be happy to come back if possible.

The food is quite good. It is a pancake restaurant but you can also order regular meals. I had a Wiener with fries and salad. Really good meat. And they had special fries. You can also sit on the outside terrace. And it is very affordable.

In terms of taste, this is one of the best pancake houses I've ever visited. The concept of slapping everything onto one pancake was executed very deliciously here! My combination of bacon and onions deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, the service and decor can't keep up; apart from the manager, the wait staff don't deserve 5 stars by any stretch of the imagination; the decor must be at least 25 years old. We also waited far too long, almost an hour... But I'd come back for the food anytime.

Four of us ate there today. It was very busy. The wait staff were overwhelmed, so we had to put up with a long wait. We were very surprised to find out there was only one chef working. Considering he was the only one, the food came out really quickly. And it was really delicious. Kudos to the chef. Overall, everything was fine except for the service. The food was delicious and yet came quickly, so we'll definitely be back.

The apple pancake is the best I have ever eaten.

A wonderful experience! The food was simply outstanding – fresh, flavorful, and lovingly prepared. Every bite was a delight! But what impressed me most was the friendliness of the entire team. Super delicious pancakes and friendly staff

We were staying at a nearby hotel and were looking for a place for dinner. We went to the Pfannkuchenhaus. There were two adults and one child. All three of us had something from the schnitzel menu and were more than impressed. We haven't eaten as well as we did there in a long time. Everything was perfect, the fries were fantastic, with a groove where you could scoop your sauce or mayo on them. The waitress was super friendly and even brought our daughter something to draw. All in all, everyone was very friendly and helpful, asking if everything was okay. Great value for money. If we're ever in Kevelar again, we'll come back for dinner. Thank you very much.

Beautiful atmosphere, the staff is very friendly and nice. The pancakes are amazing. Anyone visiting Kevelaer should definitely visit the Pancake House Hollandia with all its delicacies.

We ordered a hearty pancake, which was absolutely delicious. The apple strudel afterward was also delicious. I highly recommend it.

Leaving this review before food even arrives. Service was slow, wrong drinks served without corrections. Bottled mineral water tastes like chemicals, don't get the brohler water. Sunday noon service, 2 pancakes, plus a chefs special schnitzel, will take longer than one hour to arrive... Good luck at this tourist trap!

Nice atmosphere, finished products, bad service

I just had coffee here, which I left because the taste was not good. What I found worse was the rude lady who did not greet me and when I wanted to pay by card, said in an extremely unfriendly manner that this was not possible and spoke unintelligibly with her back turned to me. The lady who serves is very unfriendly manager has to talk about her bad behavior.

Today we were very excited about the pancake house in Kevelaer for the second time. It is a pleasure to be a guest in this restaurant. We were each able to enjoy apple strudel repeatedly. The loving decoration and cleanliness is admirable. Work is done with love here. Find some peace during this time. We look forward to the next visit.

Actually it was a chance acquaintance that we made with the pancake house: We didn't want pancakes, it was about our dinner on Saturday, December 7th, 2024. All the inner-city restaurants within walking distance were full and so we looked a little closer and recognized on the menu of the "Pfannkuchenhaus" that there were also completely "normal" dishes here were offered. We reserved a table for 8 people from 7:30 p.m. We were surprised by the very friendly service. It turned out later to be the co-owner of this house. Each of us ordered something different. Everyone was very (!) satisfied with the appearance and taste of the food and drinks chosen. For me as a beer lover, freshly tapped drinks were an option. In addition to Diebels Alt, I drank a Pilsner from Veltins. Both beers were just how I liked them! High praise goes to the chef and his wife, the two owners of this restaurant. Kalle

Ordered waffles, one was good. The second was hard as rock. A complaint when paying was dismissed and no explanation or discount was offered. A drink in this location is fine, but food is not.

We were there on Saturday evening after visiting the Christmas market. The interior is very cozy and lovingly decorated seasonally. The service is extremely friendly and attentive. The food tasted very good. I'd love to come back.

Impressive food place in a wonderful and cozy town. The dishes are very good. The terrace is beautiful, the place is very attractive...Cocktails and desserts are also very good.

I went to the pancake house with my best friend for lunch today and was very satisfied. We both ordered a delicious pancake with fresh mushrooms, which tasted really good and had plenty of toppings. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and everything was clean, we definitely felt comfortable. The service was also very attentive and friendly at the beginning, only when we wanted to order dessert and had already noticed us twice, they made us wait so long that we decided to just pay and leave. It's a shame, because we would have liked to have had a sweet ending to the delicious lunch. All in all, a great restaurant with friendly service and really delicious pancakes.

Very poor service, schnitzel was rock hard and bone dry, buddy herring was pickled herring from a pot and we had to wait more than an hour for the meal while there were only a few people. 1 star is still too much!

It was our first time there and we ate a pancake. It was very, very tasty, I've never had such a delicious pancake before. The service was top and so was the facilities in the restaurant. Always happy when we are back in Kevelaer.

The restaurant was full. The service was at our table super quickly and brought the menu straight away. Immediately asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. Drinks were brought and our food order was taken. That we wait a bit We were aware of having to wait on our food. The wait was worth it. Our pancake was super delicious. We were also asked whether we were satisfied with our food. Every table was occupied and yet the staff was very attentive. We'd love to come back.

5 stars are far too few. Just came in and was served immediately. My child was treated kindly and immediately offered a child-friendly meal!!! The service staff was very knowledgeable and the most important thing!! The food was super delicious!!!

A great restaurant in a beautiful city! The restaurant is attractive, stylishly furnished and invites you to linger. There is a large selection of sweet and savory pancakes, but also alternative dishes. Everyone can really find something here 🍳 The portions are quite large. The owners and staff are very nice 👨‍🍳 EC card payment is possible and the price-performance ratio is right. We can recommend the pancake house 🥞 with a clear conscience and would be happy to come back.

The pancake was delicious, but the service was subpar! It wasn't full and of the four women serving, only ONE knew enough German to take the order (and collect it). The other ladies (not) cleared tables completely and brought the food.

After an hour of waiting... they forgot about us.... With the excuse that the cook was doing some shopping.... While other guests... did get...
