Seja quando antes se chamava Gobinda ou agora como Mehdi, tem sido uma tradição de mais de uma década almoçar no restaurante com um amigo de Bremen. O cardápio de almoço vale até as 15h e tem preço máximo de 12 euros por prato, que acompanha sempre arroz. Não é nada sofisticado, muito menos se deve esperar comida gourmet, mas o atendimento é presente e vale a pena a visita. Espero manter a tradição e voltar no próximo ano.

Very friendly service. We received detailed explanations and good tips. Food delicious! Note: “spicy” is really hot and “very hot” is really, really hot. We didn't dare try "Indian spicy" anymore. The atmosphere is a bit sober; but okay. Prices are fair.

I went to this Indian restaurant with a friend. The food was good, but in the end the waitress didn't give us a bill and asked us to pay €43. I did the math and realized that it should have been €37.50 in total. It was unclear why we were not given an invoice. Overall the food was good, but the lack of receipt and overcharge was disappointing. Our order consisted of Gol Gappa Shots (6*1.50 = €9), Chicken Biriyani (€17.50), Samosa Chat (€7.50) and a small Mango Lassi (€3.50). Date: June 6th, 2024 at 3:00 p.m A woman served us. I think she was in her mid-40s.

We ordered via Lieferando shortly before 10 p.m. and the restaurant sent a confirmation. We waited for our meal for 2 hours until it was canceled by the restaurant. No apologies on the phone.

Great food, great service.. easily located. Nice music. Ambience is quite good. We went for lunch and service was very quick. One of the best Indian foods I have had since coming to Europe. We tried the fish tandoori, paneer masala dosa and samosa chat with Indian tea. All items were good. When requested to make it spicy they delivered.

I came here spontaneously for lunch and found the food excellent. The price-performance ratio is really very good for the quality of the food and the portion size. Clear recommendation!

A real treat! I had the pleasure of visiting Mehndi Restaurant and loved it from start to finish. The atmosphere was welcoming and authentic, and the staff was extremely attentive and friendly. The culinary journey began with a selection of delicious starters, followed by a variety of main courses, all prepared with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced spices. I was particularly impressed by the variety of vegetarian options, which were all exceptionally tasty. The highlight was undoubtedly the aromatic Butter Chicken, which was tender and full of flavor. Finally, we were offered a selection of traditional desserts, which were the perfect ending to an unforgettable culinary experience. I can fully recommend the Mehndi and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Ich war das erste Mal bei Mehndi und hatte Non VEG Thali. Es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Es gab auch ein extra Menü für Vegetarier. Die Bedienung war sehr süß und freundlich zu uns. Wir kommen gerne wieder

Amazing food 😋, my girlfriend wanted spicy, but I warned her and they gave us medium and it was perfect for us.

We ordered Masala Dosa and it was HORRIBLE...a special mention to the coconut chutney, why did they dissolve coconut powder in cold water? Nowadays people can at least try to learn from you tube about such common Indian dishes.. please remove this from the menu or try to improve it.. The staff were good and that was the only best thing about the restaurant... Indian restaurants in Hamburg are really doing good ...I hope this review helps.

The lamb was perfect. It was so so soft i forgot it was lamb until halfway through the dish. The staff are so smiley, friendly and attentive.

Normalerweise bin ich es gewohnt, als Vegetarier zwei, drei Gerichte zur Auswahl zu haben. Hier hab ich nicht schlecht geguckt, als es neben den zahlreichen vegetarischen Gerichten auf der Hauptkarte noch eine ganze vegetarische Karte zusätzlich gab! So viel Auswahl... Aber keine Angst, liebe Omnivoren, auch wenn ihr nicht ohne Fleisch wollt, kommt ihr nicht zu kurz. Und lecker war es! Und jedes Gericht kann man in unterschiedlichen Schärfegraden bestellen. Mittelscharf fand ich schon ordentlich, an indisch scharf werde ich mich wohl nie herantrauen... Das Team ist sehr freundlich und umsichtig, da fühlt man sich richtig willkommen. Danke für den schönen Abend, wir werden wiederkommen! Und dann muss ich mich entscheiden, welches Gericht ich dann bestelle, oder ob ich dann doch wieder das Tofu-Korma nehme :)

Had lunch here. The food was amazing. You get to pick the “spice” intensity which is pretty great. The portions are really big so you will definitely be pleased. The prices are also very reasonable. The food also came pretty fast.

Große Auswahl, leckeres Essen und eine superliebe Bedienung.

Ich war hier essen mit meiner Frau. Leckeres Essen, angenehmer Service und schöne Musik. Der junge Kellner ist sehr zuvorkommend und hat unseren Geschmack perfekt getroffen. Essen wurde nach Bedarf auch geschärft. Die Küche weiß, was sie tut.

Spontan am Samstag Abend zu zweit zum Essen eingekehrt. Super freundliches Personal. Keine lange Wartezeit. Hähnchengericht und Grillplatte waren lecker. Preis Leistung sehr gut. Empfehlenswert.

That location seems to be cursed, for it has held a number of different (kinds of) restaurants and none remains long. It was an Indian restaurant before (Gobinda), where I always had one nice mea each summer. The menu is stapled to the walls by the windows, which means passers-by lean onto tables to check out whether to stop there, not pleasant. The assortment is good and flavour is indeed excellent. Do order 'Indian scharf' if you tolerate more spiciness, it is not that hot. Either the delicious mango lassi or the food itself caused me a major intestinal discomfort while I still was in the restaurant, forcing me to dash downstairs! On the way home, I had to beg to use the facilities in a tube station, or a disaster would take place. The friend I ate lunch with felt nothing but we had different drinks and meals, being very pleased with both, and that's why I wouldn't consider the place so bad, despite still suffering with the 'inconvenience' two days later...

Das Restaurant hat nach einem Wasserschaden und einer Komplettrenovierung neu aufgemacht. Die Optik hat mir gefallen, darum bin ich spontan hineingegangen - der größte Vorteil meines Besuchs ist, dass ich jetzt weiß, dass ich hier nicht am Abend mit meinem Mann einkehren werde. Es begann damit, dass die Tür weit offen stand - es war sonnig, aber kalt und mehreren Gästen war kalt. Dem Wirt war aber wichtiger, dass die Tür offen bleibt, um für weitere Gäste einladender auszusehen. Die Aufnahme der Bestellung war noch sehr freundlich. Ich habe mir ein großes Kräuterlassi (6,90 Euro für 0,5 l) bestellt und Spezial Mix Kabab (eine Zusammenstellung aus Tandoori Chicken, Tikka, Lamm Tikka, Lamm Seekh Kabab und Garnelen) für 19,90 Euro. Laut Speisekarte werden alle Gerichte mit Basmatireis serviert und mit Granatapfel und Koriander dekoriert. Das Kräuterlassi war kühl und frisch, auch wenn ich mir etwas mehr Geschmack gewünscht hätte - insgesamt aber ok. Dann kam das Hauptgericht. Wer auf das Foto schaut sieht 3 kleine Krabben (lecker), 3 Lammhackstücke (so vertrocknet, dass man nicht mal mit der Gabel hineinstechen konnte) und zweimal 3 Stücke Hähnchen (davon 5 schmackhaft und 1 vertrocknet). Dazu ein winziges Schälchen Reis (etwa 2-3 EL) und ein kleiner Klecks Soße. Was habe ich zu meckern? - Das Lamm Tikka fehlte (was ich erst hinterher merkte, ich hatte ja keine Karte mehr am Tisch und die Zutaten nicht gezählt). - Auf meine Frage nach Reis erhielt ich umgehend ein kleines Schälchen Basmatireis - das stand hinterher mit 3,- Euro auf der Rechnung!. - Bei der Reklamation des Hackspießes wollte mir der Kellner erst glauben, als er auf meine Aufforderung selbst versuchte, dass Klößchen aufzuspießen und scheiterte. Da ich versucht hatte, eines der Lammhackteilchen zu essen erhielt ich nach Beendigung meiner restlichen Mahlzeit als Ersatz nur zwei kleine Lammhackteilchen - auf ein wenig Salat gebettet ohne weitere Beilagen mit der Bemerkung "der Koch wusste nicht, dass die schon nach so kurzer Grillzeit fertig sind". - Für den vertrockneten Hühnerwürfel erhielt ich keinen Ersatz - ich hatte ihn ja zur Hälfte gegessen. Keine Entschuldigung, keine weitere Kulanz, nichts . Für diese Glanzleistung hätte ich normalerweise 30,- Euro bezahlt. Weil heute das Eröffnungsangebot "wir halbieren ihre Rechnung" war habe ich "nur" 15,- Euro bezahlt -was schon viel zu viel für diese Schlechtleistung war. Nie wieder!!!

I don’t think I have eaten worse food anywhere else in the world. They are serving rubbish in the name of Ayurvedic Indian cuisine. And the ambience is terrible, flashing lights and stark red interiors. Service is terrible. Staff knows nothing about the menu. Don’t eat the papads. They bring it out like an appetizer but charged us 14 euros for 4 papads.
