It's one of the best persian restaurants in Berlin and their best dish is Gheime + Reis

Is "halfway" a reference to a mix of Persian and...um...not Persian? Persian food is laden with sumac, turmeric, nutmeg, caraway, golpar, bay leaves, saffron and limoo amani. I cant say they were entirely missing, but they were subtle at best, and the tired salad leaves with balsamic (as absent in the gulf as bacon) make me wonder if I undertand the concept. The meat is a typical example where the flavours are begging to be united with the mince. The eggplant puree looks the goods, but falls flat and gives me the back palate astringency that makes me doubt its been salt (or vinegar) cured before cooking. The bread is a complete confusion for my little brain. Nothing Persian about it, except maybe that wheat is a common element. Great service and nice place to hang. As long as your not looking for deeply authentic Persian eats. But maybe that's the aim?

If you really want to experience good Persian cuisine, you should come by. It's best to reserve in the evening if possible. It was an accidental and amazing discovery. Gladly again.. Unfortunately I had already started eating before I could take the photo. Delicious!

We visited Meet Me Halfway on our first night in Berlin after 24+ hours of travel, hoping for a warm welcome and good food — and we got at least one of those. Let’s start with the good: the food is really tasty. A wide selection of vegetarian and vegan options, well-sized portions, and a thoughtfully curated drink list. The ambiance is polished and pleasant, and the service is swift — we didn’t have to wait long for anything. So kudos to the kitchen and floor staff, who are clearly doing their job with care. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience left something to be desired. We had a reservation, and were given at a drafty table right by the entrance. When we politely asked for a different table (there were some free), the waiter responded with: "This is the table you’ve been given. I don’t understand why you want to change." For context: my mother is 70, we were visibly exhausted and freezing. While the waiter couldn’t have known our backstory, a little empathy goes a long way — and considering we were eventually moved, the brusque comment was not only unnecessary, but pointless. The same waiter later advised me to “relax, just relax” when I asked if card payment was possible — an odd reaction to a perfectly normal question in a city where many places still don’t accept cards. He followed this with a quip about me working in the kitchen if I couldn’t pay — an attempt at humor, perhaps, but it landed awkwardly and felt patronizing rather than playful. There was also some repetitive mockery when I expressed enjoyment of the food, which frankly wore thin. In sum: good food, nice space, but some of the service teeters between aloof and off-putting. If Meet Me Halfway wants to meet people all the way — especially tired, paying ones — a bit more warmth and professionalism from staff wouldn’t hurt. I fully expect a defensive reply to this review based on previous responses, but hey — taking feedback well is part of good hospitality, too.

I had lunch at meet me halfway on a Sunday. The atmosphere is inviting, but not a super cozy restaurant for a nice dinner. More suitable for breakfast/lunch. Hence the all-day breakfast. Unfortunately, because it was very busy, the noise level was quite high and cigarette smoke from smoking guests sitting outside came in through the open windows. That was a bit uncomfortable. The service was good, but you quickly realize that it's more there to bring you the food and nothing more. Ordering is done online by scanning the QR code and then using the Orderbird app. In all of this, what was most important to me was the food and it was incredibly delicious! The exciting Homemade Lemonade was also great. Thanks for that!

We came at the lunchtime and most tables were reserved, but we have managed to have a seating (3 people). The food of Iranian cuisine was pretty good, we have especially enjoyed fresh home lemonades. 👌🏻

We decided to visit this restaurant with my family, but I was extremely disappointed by the service and the attitude of the staff. Their behavior towards us was very cold and strange. I ordered some food and a chicken sandwich and asked if it was possible to cut it into three pieces because my children can only hold and eat small portions. The response was that it was not possible because of the bread😕 I also requested a Fritz Cola, but the man behind the counter replied with an attitude that they didn’t have it and said with louder voice “PLEASE READ THE MENU. THAT'S WHY I GAVE YOU THE CARD, SO YOU COULD FIRST READ AND DECIDE FROM THE MENU AND ORDER!” This was really rude and I was chocked. The food was good, the portions were quite small. Unfortunately, my children accidentally dropped all of our drinks and smoothies on the floor. The waiter responded to my child with, “What have you done?” I explained that it was an accident, but he didn’t even reply or offer us new drinks. The strangest part was when I pay and was told they only accept card payments, not cash. This is unusual for a proper restaurant, and forcing customers to use a specific payment method isn’t ideal. Overall not a pleasent visit

I came for a quick lunch and I had the bowl salad with aubergine and the Tehran juice it was absolutely mind blowing, every ingredient of the bowl was fresh and the combination of flavours couldn't be better the presentation was beautiful, I didn't make it to the picture because it was soo good looking I started eating immediately. Honestly a place to come with more people and share, next time I'll try the rice that seemed absolutely delicious. Awesome and friendly service, they also speak English and I heard some Spanish too. 5 stars well deserved

Next to Noosh, the best Persian restaurant in Berlin. The cuisine is bombastically good. The service is only inadequately appreciated with “warm, friendly, loving”. All dishes are delicious, modern and yet Persian. The audience suits the store. Young, friendly, interesting. An absolute recommendation!!

This absolutely delicious and authentic Persian meal was a highlight of our trip to Berlin. I’m vegetarian and the options were sophisticated and plentiful. The staff was attentive and kind…shout out to our sweet server with the new tattoo about how being happy is a goal of hers. It really touched us.

A wonderful first experience with Iranian cuisine – simple, tasty food and generous portions.

Very nice restaurant where we spent Easter Monday lunch. We were a group of 9 people and everything went well. You have to order at the checkout. Apart from the quite dry falafel, the dishes chosen were ok in portions and taste. You can pay by card.

The food was super tasty and the service was top. We had a mixed starter platter and a main course, with bread, yoghurt and salad. That was enough for 2 people. The salad dressing is to die for. We'll definitely be back. Thanks for the great evening

The food is really fantastic! I just really enjoyed it :) the tables between the window and the bar are separated by narrow paths, which bothered me a bit. The space is nice, but I felt it was missing some personality. The staff was friendly :) I highly recommend eating here! Treat yourself ❤️

They're simply perfect and their food has superb quality. as an iranian i know persian food taste and here you can experience it at its max. And above that from the international point it is also very professional. I can only recommend it.

Das Essen war recht gut, probiert wurden Bowls und Platten. Leider war der Service wirklich unaufmerksam, da wurde erstmal in aller Ruhe mit den Kollegen geredet und Gäste ignoriert. Wir hätten gern noch etwas getrunken oder ein Dessert versucht, aber wenn man mehr oder weniger ignoriert wird, dann gehe ich dafür lieber woanders hin.

A success, fresh and abundant food, good atmosphere and excellent service. Highlight the kindness of the Peruvian waitress and Matías, the Argentine cook. In addition to the owners who were very helpful. 100% recommended PS: we are the group of canarians who were learning German. 04-04-25.

The Persian Food Junction is real, and if you want to find a table, a pre-reservation is recommended. The interior is cozy but not very spacious, so you may get a corner table or bar counter unless you have a party of more than two. It is quite close to the S-Bahn Nordbahnhof and also accessible by road if you are coming by car. Standouts are the authentic-seeming Iranian cutlery and decor. The staff is accommodating, however, you must order at the counter. Regarding the food, it's okay, and I have had better Persian food experiences in Germany and elsewhere. I ordered traditional Gheymeh, which came with a large portion of saffron rice and a small bowl of salad. The Persian tea I ordered tasted as okay as my regular tea tastes, but costs €4.90. So, it's somewhat pricey! Overall, I would rate it 6.5/7 out of 10.

It was very small and there wasn’t a comfortable space to sit. Our table was right in front of the kitchen, even though we had a reservation, and the staff kept walking back and forth, which was really annoying. But the food and service were excellent.

Good food, but too vegan! Not even the not vegan options did not seem to have the appropriate amount of meat ratio. Persian food is not that vegan. This one seems to be very much influenced by local Berlin approach. I’ve had Persian in London and Paris and it was different.

Mediocre: the saffron rice is mostly white rice with a thin layer of saffron rice on top. The grilled vegetables had no taste, the tomato sauce was just passata. The chicken and herb omelette were very good though!

This restaurant is a little gem, the waiter (probably the manager) bends over backwards to find you a place, he has an incredible smile and boundless energy! The dishes are delicious and definitely worth the detour. We recommend with your eyes closed!

Excellent food, the restaurant is small so I recommend to book to be sit in a proper table. The owner was super nice and tried to find us a spot, but can be very crowded and a bit loud. The food however was worth the little downsides, delicious and recommended!

This place is as authentic as it gets. The pilau rice dishes are what you want to order when visiting here. They were phenomenally good! We had the chicken and the lamb option each. Each came with a salad. They also do breakfast. I think the breakfast options are on the expensive side. The cake selection isn’t the best. One issue is that, they don’t switch on the extractor fan. All our clothes came out smelling like kebab. This is was a little annoying especially as we had planned to be out for most of the day.

The food was very bad and overpriced, but the service was nice and friendly, but the whole restaurant smelled like fish. 40% of the food was left over because it didn't taste good.

I visited this place with my friends and colleagues for already more than 10 times and every time I was fully satisfied with the food and also is the service. They have great variations of Persian food and I highly recommend “Ghormeh Sabzi”, “Ofen kebab”, “Gheymeh” and “Hänchen”

Terrific family-owned place, one of my best discoveries since moving downtown. The food is delicious with simple yet highly appealing presentation, the service is prompt and friendly, and the charming decor tops it off. The menu is not large but it's very diverse. Be sure to ask for the separate wine chart (or take the staff's recommendation... or both) and consider booking ahead as it's not a large place. I'm definitely set to become a regular.

Hello, I came several times last year. Your Iranian food, especially the stews, was very tasty. It is clear that a professional chef cooked it, but a few days ago, when I came with my friends, we ordered a few meals.

I was here for dinner with colleagues and we had a great evening. The food came quickly, was super tasty and the employees were very charming. The only thing that was a bit tiring in the long run was the noise caused by the conversations of the guests (it was just full). Nevertheless, I will definitely come back and can highly recommend it. Thank you :)

Food service and everything was perfect

We've been here several times, the food is very good, the prices are reasonable. It's quite loud there, so you sometimes have to shout at each other across the table. The sound quality could perhaps be improved a bit. We always like to come back!

We “pitchfork hipsters” wanted to test out the capital’s cuisine and chose this Persian restaurant. We were looked after and served by a very friendly, attentive team. We drank delicious homemade cucumber lemonade and fruit milkshake, as well as a chicken sandwich and a spinach sandwich...all incredibly delicious. 🫶👏😋

Very disappointed with this restaurant! The waitress is unfriendly and almost nothing is homemade. The presentation is pretty but the taste of the dishes is not up to par at all. Chai latte is made with a syrup (or a ready-made powder), and is way too sweet. I doubt the pancakes are homemade and they come with industrial bottled chocolate sauce. I thought the vine leaves were going to make up for the rest because they were pretty good, until I saw them coming straight out of a can... Go elsewhere, there's much better in Berlin

Speechless how this restaurant got so many good reviews. The food is a humiliation towards authentic Persian cuisine. The rice was so dry and not well flavored as you would expect it. The chicken was as also dry and all sauces to our meal were nearly flavorless. We sat outside, literally no service there, except bringing the food. Again, we had to learned the lesson that only because it looks good on Instagram, and some hipsters are sitting in it, it doesn’t mean at all that you’ll get good food and service there. Big disappointment!

Each of the 4 dishes was extremely tasteless. The rice cakes were extremely dry and only tasted like eggs. Overall, absolutely not recommended. Service hardly available.

We had an absolutely wonderful meal at meet me halfway. As persians we found the food to be very authentic and homestyle! Excellent environment, wonderful hosting on behalf of Mehdi and his ability to make you feel so comfortable and familiar as if you've met once before. Thank you, will 10/10 come again. I highly recommend asking for a shot of their house gin in any of their handcrafted non alcoholic drinks for an amazing improvised cocktail.

Don’t understand why this restaurant has so many good reviews. They literally serve ketchup with my chicken that tastes awful and they didn’t even serve a spoon with their persian dishes. Also safran not good quality. And the bread tasted like from 3 days ago.

The stews are great, Tahchin should be a bit juicier. Akbar jujeh was so so. Faloudeh bastani was just right. The Ayran (doogh) was amazing, same as Tehroon juice. Service and hospitality was perfect. Oh, and stuffed grape vines were heavenly!

An amazing experience in short. The food was really good. It was my first time trying Persian food and it did not disappoint. I asked a few questions about 'how' to eat the different food dishes that were presented to me. The servers helped me without any judgement and even gave some extra tips that helped me to enjoy my dishes even more! The setting of the restaurant is really nice as well with a self-service ordering system. They also have a small section with different sweets that can be eaten as snacks. Even though I didnt order any special Persian drinks, the group of french girls next to me ordered some and all the drinks really looked good. The close setting of the restaurant also encourages conversations with strangers if that is something you like! On the whole it was a very pleasant experience and I can highly recommend this place for people who want to explore Berlin and especially Persian food!

Rarely eaten so deliciously. We actually wanted to have breakfast but then decided on main courses. I can only recommend the Persian dishes, everything looked very, very tasty. Price, performance, quality and service are simply top.

The food is delicious, and the traditional dishes are amazing. The atmosphere is great, but one owner was quite unfriendly. When he brought the last plate, we asked for cutlery since we had it at our previous table before moving due to the cold. Instead of a simple response, he reacted rudely, saying he first serves all dishes and didn’t understand why we asked. Later, he brought salt and pepper with a sarcastic, "I'll bring these too before you ask." Seriously? That attitude was unnecessary for such a small request. Then, there was another misunderstanding during payment, and he responded with the same rudeness. His attitude really took away from an otherwise great experience

We made a reservation for 8 people a week ahead. On the morning of the visit, it was suddenly cancelled. When I called, the lady on the phone first spoke English, but when I asked about the reservation, she pretended she couldn't speak English anymore. When I switched to German, she pretended that it was her first day at work and she couldn't help me. Terrible experience and awful inconvenience. Cannot recommend this place. Edit: Uploading email screenshots as a proof of my claims, due to insincere review response from the owner. Sadly, I cannot share follow-up phone conversation as well. If you already cause inconvenience, at least be sincere about it.

Estuvimos aquí esta noche, el lugar era agradable y la comida era buena. La comida no estaba tan caliente. Preguntamos si podíamos tener una cebolla de lado que los persas comen y luego el único hombre que trabajaba allí dijo que estaba bien entonces la mujer vino y dijo que no tenían ninguna cebolla. Cuando fuimos al baño, vimos que tenían tantas cebollas en una cesta. En esta parte fue una mala experiencia.

I'm pregnant and recently visited Meet Me Halfway because I was in the mood for something special. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, the team still managed to find a place for us - I'm incredibly grateful for that! The akbarjuje was tender and flavorful, and the stews immediately reminded me of my grandmother's cooking 👵🏻rich, comforting and full of love. The warm atmosphere and excellent service made the visit unforgettable. Thank you for showing so much heart ❤️🙏🏻 I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
