I’m glad I chose this place for my friend’s birthday dinner. I was thrilled by all. All my expectations were met. The food were delicious., I always wanted to try Octopus and needed a fancy restaurant to try it on. I’m now obsess and inlove with it. Will surely come try for more in the menu.

Today is Sunday, I just wanted to go out for a relaxed meal. Of course I was neatly dressed and only wore a capy (from the ysl brand). However, the "manager" wanted me to take them off (there were only 3 tables occupied), I didn't do it, I would have left €300, and I definitely won't let anyone tell me what I should and shouldn't wear. Afterwards it was suddenly ok for them to wear the capy. After such impudence, I of course got up immediately.

I had reserved a table today and wanted to eat with my friend. Because we had a 6-hour drive, he didn't have the opportunity to change. Unfortunately there is nothing about a dress code on the website, which is very annoying. Since it is Ramadan, my friend wanted to break his fast here. Outrageous door policy – arbitrariness instead of style We were turned away this evening on the grounds of “too loose style” – mind you, in quite “expensive Doc Martens”, suit trousers and a stylish shirt. Interestingly, at the same moment guests were walking towards us in clearly loose clothing. Apparently it's not the dress code that decides here, but rather sympathy or age - the latter seems to be the actual reason, which they didn't want to say openly. Anyone who values fairness and a professional appearance should avoid this store. Bouncers who sort things out at will instead of according to clear rules destroy every ambience. It's a shame that the staff go to this level.

First of all, I would like to praise the great service - the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, there were a few points that made my visit less pleasant. The wait for our food was significantly longer than expected. Unfortunately, when the dishes were finally served, the pasta was undercooked, which spoiled the enjoyment. In addition, it was so loud in the location that conversation was hardly possible.

I recently visited Meerbar and loved the welcoming atmosphere and excellent drinks. However, the food didn't quite meet my expectations and was rather average. I would therefore not decide on another visit just to eat. Nevertheless, the restaurant is recommended for a cozy evening with good drinks.

This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was late, half of it tasted terrible, and most dishes arrived lukewarm as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. The tuna steak was like cutting through rubber, and the truffle pasta was a complete disaster—bland, chemical, and totally inedible. To make matters worse, the manager was shockingly rude and completely unwilling to take any responsibility. Instead, they excused the appalling service and tasteless food by claiming, “This is Düsseldorf and a busy period, not Italy,” as if that somehow justifies failure on every front. Their dismissive and unprofessional attitude was the cherry on top of this miserable experience. Avoid this place at all costs—it’s a waste of time, money, and patience. The wine menu is also horrible.

We visited the Meerbar with 5 friends on Saturday evening. Unfortunately our experience is not good. After we sat down at our table and received the order cards, it took a long time for our order to be taken. The aperitif was brought and at the same time all the wine glasses were taken away Table taken, although we would have liked to order a bottle of wine with our meal. Unfortunately we weren't even asked if we wanted wine or something else with the meal. Unfortunately the food was delivered very differently. 2 out of 5 dishes came around 30 minutes later so eating together was not possible. We had to ask two different waiters for the salt and the parmesan twice, so both unfortunately only came when we were almost finished. What's embarrassing is that the Parmesan cheese was charged extra. Unfortunately, the food didn't convince us. Some of the food was only lukewarm when it was brought. The chicken was very fatty and the beef fillet tips were definitely not worth the money. Unfortunately, it felt like the employees were completely overwhelmed by the amount of customers. I have rarely experienced such poor and slow service. The Meerbar enjoys a good reputation that it no longer lives up to. It's a shame and I can no longer recommend it.

Some time ago we were on site with the company and the price/performance ratio was right. Yesterday - on my birthday - it was (to put it kindly) underground! It's best to hang jackets and coats over the back of a chair so that the waiters might step on them because the cloakroom is full. In addition, food that may satisfy the clientele between 20 and 35 in attendance, but not a palate that knows really good cuisine (dry fillet of beef, bad sea bass). Last but not least, bad stomach pain with corresponding consequences at night. For over €300 we think this is a disgrace! We won't be coming back again.

I was honestly surprised. I've been to your restaurant before and everything seemed to be going great. Til today. The waiter asked me to calculate my orders on my cell phone because he was “charging” his cell phone. I once worked as a waitress myself, but I've never seen such impudence. I was talking to my girlfriend and had to distract myself to get his work done. I would also say that I calculated a sum and he added a few cents to it (50), but that's more funny than annoying.

However, there are a few points of criticism that cloud the overall impression. At the reception the door is opened by the doorman, but there is no well-thought-out service inside, such as the acceptance of jackets or coats. Especially in winter, it is unpleasant to have to wait a long time in your coat to be shown to your seat. The cloakroom is downstairs in the à la carte area, which is difficult for first-time visitors to see - better signage would be appreciated. The place was also relatively cool, which made sitting uncomfortable. There was also a deficiency in the serving temperature, as the main course, especially the veal chop, was only served lukewarm. Despite the appealing overall concept and ambience, there is clear potential for improvement in the areas of service and general conditions.

Disrespectful and disappointing I had a reservation at this restaurant and was still turned away at the door because of my pants. This had a few paint stains, as is common on designer jeans these days. Aside from that, I was wearing a black top, black shoes, and my companion even had an elegant coat on - overall we were definitely dressed appropriately. The bouncer justified the rejection with an alleged dress code that was not communicated anywhere on the website or when making the reservation. It became particularly absurd when someone came out of the restaurant shortly afterwards wearing ripped skinny jeans with chains and a full tattoo. – apparently that’s more in keeping with this place’s taste. The bouncer made an effort and wanted to speak to the boss, but he apparently didn't even have the desire to come out and clarify the situation. Such disrespectful behavior from management is just disappointing. While I was standing outside, another person next to me remarked, "That's why I avoid this restaurant." And a look at the reviews shows that such experiences are unfortunately no exception. It seems like this place regularly stands out for its arrogance and arbitrary treatment of its guests. If a restaurant places such little emphasis on professionalism and hospitality, there is no reason to ever visit again. I can only advise everyone to give it a wide berth - there are plenty of alternatives that treat their guests with respect.

We have been guests at the Meerbar for many years and today we had a very nice evening with very good food. The service is always on point, even in a full restaurant. A super nice restaurant. I'm actually a regular customer at the Rocca 800 Grad restaurant. But the sea bar also really blew me away. Great ambience, delicious food with a large selection! The waiters could have been a little funnier and more personable, like in Rocca, but otherwise we were very satisfied. I celebrated my birthday there and was absolutely happy! Unfortunately an absolute disappointment. We called in advance and made arrangements with a lady in the store. She specifically told us that we could come with four people. After a long journey, we were turned away at the door by the boss himself. It's an outrage to be left out in the cold after such a journey, even though we had clarified everything beforehand. This way of dealing with customers is disrespectful and shows a complete lack of understanding of service. If you're planning a visit here, you should think twice - we definitely can't recommend this store.

I recommend choose the fish dishes in this restaurant, what was really good. We tried also the steak but both portions were too raw. And unfortunately it wasn’t minus from the invoice. A lot of people and loudly atmosphere, so difficult to talk with each other. Maybe in day time would be better. I recommend this place for friends dinners but not for business.

We celebrated a birthday dinner there and normally the service is always top, but unfortunately not this time. The waiting time for the starters was disproportionately long and then only 2 out of 3 starters came. When the two people were finished, only the third starter arrived. Also, the "half lobster" as a complement to the Chateaubriand is an absolute joke. 2 tiny little pieces of lobster, the size of a little finger, which unfortunately were absolutely overcooked and tough. Paying €36 for this is more than unpleasant. When I complained to the waiter, he just said that that was the normal portion. I then asked for a sparkler for dessert, which should come with the dessert, just because of the birthday. The dessert did come, but unfortunately without any indication of “birthday dinner”. It was probably forgotten. A bit sobering as we have been eating there for many years. For 400€ for 3 people you would expect more attentive service.

The food is pretty good. Nothing fancy, but good quality, well prepared. You can probably expect that for around 40 euros for a dish. The service is very inattentive or completely ignores you, regardless of whether it is eye contact, a hand gesture or a shout. We would have liked to have desserts and a few more cocktails, but we just didn't get them. 🤷♀️ The ambience is okay. The decor is appealing because it is very large, but the tables are close together, it is incredibly loud and it is difficult to have a conversation. I wouldn't really recommend it overall.

We recently visited the restaurant and were looking forward to a nice lunch. The staff was friendly, but there were some disagreements that marred our visit. We ordered, among other things, truffle pasta and three entrecôtes. Unfortunately, all three entrecôtes were not fried medium rare as requested and were still raw inside, which is why they had to be returned. As a result, one of the entrecôtes was only re-fried, while the other two were completely replaced. Unfortunately, these two also failed on the second attempt and had the same problems as before. The interior also didn't quite meet our expectations. Online it seemed much more high-quality and modern, while on site it seemed a bit outdated. The overall atmosphere was not what we had hoped for and additionally the restaurant was quite cold which further detracted from the experience. On a positive note, I would like to mention that the staff tried very hard to improve the situation and we were not charged for one of the entrecôtes. The service was attentive, but unfortunately the kitchen was not convincing that day. We hope this was an exception as the restaurant has potential and would like to give it another chance.

I had a deeply disappointing experience at meerbar , Not only was the service subpar, but the staff displayed blatant r a c i s t attitudes that made me and my companions uncomfortable. It’s disheartening to see such ignorance in a place that should be welcoming to everyone. I won’t be returning, and I encourage others to reconsider dining here.

Eating in kruz format was ok. Service was bad, no tip was given for the first time. I had to open the wine bottle myself. Now to top it all off, I paid 199.90 and it was debited twice from my account, I've been on the phone with the operations manager every day for the past month and he's putting me off. To date I have not received my money back. Be careful if the EC device doesn't work.

The bouncer was extremely disrespectful and judged my appearance. He insulted me by showing the "no dogs allowed" sticker on the door. I refrained from posting an ad because I know the shop owner personally. That's really not possible and I will never eat there again! It was the short, fat bouncer with short black hair, who has a black 3-day beard and always wears the same thing.

The two of us were there at around 10:30 p.m. on a Saturday evening. We just tried to have a drink. After we ordered, the waiter came up to us after 25 minutes and asked again about our order. After another 20 minutes another waiter came again and asked if we had already ordered. We mentioned that we had already been waiting 40 minutes and the waiter said he would take care of it immediately and we would get our drinks. 10 minutes later still nothing. At some point after 45/50 minutes we just got up and left the area. In addition, the music was simply turned off at 11 p.m., which is quite disappointing on a Saturday evening. Considering that these cocktails cost around 15/20€, I think the whole thing is pretty cheeky. So unfortunately never again.

Unfortunately, my otherwise very pleasant evening was marred by an extremely unpleasant encounter with the waitress Fatma (she was wearing glasses). First of all, I would like to emphasize that the bouncers were incredibly friendly and the atmosphere in the place was really great. I was there with my girlfriend and we were actually looking forward to a relaxing evening. Unfortunately, Fatma seemed to be in a very bad mood that evening. She was extremely unfriendly, appeared irritable and clearly took her bad mood out on the guests. Her behavior seemed aggressive and it seemed as if she was very dissatisfied with herself, which she unfortunately conveyed to the outside world. Not only was it unpleasant for us, the table next door also noticed and also criticized the behavior. It's a real shame that such unprofessional behavior ruined an otherwise great evening. We couldn't even enjoy the food anymore because we lost our appetite. For this reason I can unfortunately only give one star, with the exception of the ambience, which was really nice.

We were initially welcomed and given a reserved seat. The waiter then came, took the order and immediately served us the drinks. After what felt like 10-12 minutes, a large group of guests arrived. The waiter also tried to serve her. Despite several eye contacts, we had to wait exactly 43 minutes for our food. When the food arrived, we immediately noticed that the meat wasn't prepared as we would have liked and the vegetables were inedibly cold. I ate some of the meat and left the vegetables there. By the way, the fries we ordered didn't come at all. She only came after dinner. When we asked the waiter about it, he said I could have told him and he could have served the food warm. I then said that I didn't want to wait another 43 minutes. As an apology he offered me an espresso. I said it was too strong for me, so I would prefer espresso macchiato. How did the espresso come about? Of course without a dash of milk. The evening was catastrophic. Never again sea bar. The young, somewhat dark-skinned waiter was focused on tips and tended to tend to the tables where he thought he would get more tips. The evening was catastrophic. Too bad. The experience cost us €85.

Yesterday on September 9th, 2024, we were in the Meerbar... 7:00 p.m. Table 9 wanted to spend a nice evening with good food and service. We had a nice evening, I'll leave the good meal in the room for now. Service tries to make an effort but nothing more. Professionalism looks different! The service should work in this location and with this reputation. Food: Starters were acceptable, main courses you can do better! You can't really go wrong with drinks! Would have liked to have had another dessert... When we wanted to place our dessert order, we were told "We only have two types of desserts at the moment", and it should be pointed out in advance when the menu is handed over what is no longer in the house. Long story short…….price performance was absolutely not consistent that evening. Prices like in a star restaurant, food and service NaJa 🫤 For half the euros on our bill we would have eaten better somewhere else.

The restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere with a beautiful view. However, there is still room for improvement when it comes to service. The food was okay, but it didn't correspond to the price level that was quoted for it. So overall a bit disappointing for the price/performance ratio.
