Terrible experience. Poor service. Does not care at all to clients. FIND ANOTHER PLACE !!

Unfortunately, our visit didn't impress us with the food. The truffle pasta was very bland, and the entrecôte was extremely tough halfway through – a real shame. The service was particularly disappointing: We waited a full 44 minutes for an Aperol, despite politely reminding three different waiters. The atmosphere and the beautiful interior deserve special mention – truly stylish and inviting. For a nice ambiance, yes – but for good food, unfortunately, not recommended.

When you're expecting something incredible, it often happens that only the picture is beautiful, and everything else isn't. I reserved a table in advance for a birthday party, always reading the rules carefully, etc. One of us was wearing shorts, and because of this, we weren't allowed into the restaurant. However, I didn't find any mention of shorts being prohibited on the website; they only write about dogs. We sat on the terrace, where it was cold, and when I asked for blankets for our companions, they only had two. So, if you have such demands on your guests, the service should be of a high standard. If you want to spend time in a cozy place, this isn't the place for you.

Definitely not! Service is a disaster. No server here feels responsible, and drinks take forever to order and even longer to arrive. The only thing that's nice is the view.

I tried to book a table for myself, my wife, and our family of 15 people. The person who handling reservations had a strange accent (Indian or Pakistani, or something similar), he didn’t speak English well and even not understanding , and was quite rude and unprofessional. He sounded rushed and impatient during the call. I even tried speaking to him in German, but it was the same — no manners at all. I told him he should speak more politely, and when I mentioned that I would write a review on Google about my experience, he responded indifferently, saying “OK, go write.” When I asked him for his name, he hesitated as if he forgot it. Then he told me his name was “Obi” or “Tobi” — he couldn’t really tell. And when I asked for his full name, he refused to give it. It was a very disappointing experience, and that’s why I decided not to go through with the reservation.

It was pretty good. I was very happy to find a place like this in Düsseldorf. When the weather is nice, it is more enjoyable to sit outside. We went just for drinks. Luckily we found a seat. Very disappointing experience. We had a reservation for my birthday party yesterday that was double confirmed. I was assured over the phone that it was okay to bring our birthday decorations and that the reservation was binding. When we arrived, after about 10 minutes, we were turned away by a bouncer who checked us up and down and told us that the seats were already taken, even though half of the terrace was still free. Despite presenting the reservation confirmation via email, he was unable to grant us access. We stood in the 30 degree heat and waited in vain. I would like to note that I have been there several times, but had the impression that the staff seemed to be prejudiced against certain guests based on their appearance or background. I found this behavior to be discriminatory. If you're looking for a place that feels more stuffy, with brands like Fake Rolex, this store might be for you. For everyone who values ​​quality and a noble ambience, I recommend other restaurants such as the Lox, Düsseldorf. As a result, we chose a meal at "Spaghetti and Stars" that was pleasant, stylish and of high quality. There are numerous alternatives in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area that offer a better experience.

It's an excellent choice for those looking to enjoy a meal in a stylish setting, and when celebrating a special occasion.

The food was good and the service was friendly, but could be a little quicker. Another thing that struck me negatively was the sharp increase in drink prices, which are now out of proportion. What bothered me the most, however, was the nighttime crowd: I had the feeling of being in a red light district rather than a chic bar. Unfortunately, that spoils the overall impression considerably. Overall, still satisfied, especially because of the nice ambience.

Amazing Restaurant and breathtaking Bar - very recommended

BEEF is good, Lobster is good, Drink is good, Seafood soup is good, Side Dish of Lobster is not my favorite. Musik is a little bit loud, But quite happy feeling, I feel good.

Even 0 stars would be too much. Price-performance ratio was an absolute disgrace. First of all, there was no good organization of reservations. You didn't even know exactly where the entrance was. You can't make a reservation and then have to wait. When you get to the table you don't get any attention from the waiters. You had to wait another long time until you got the cards. After ordering, it took a long time for the drinks to arrive. Reservations were made at 9:30 p.m., drinks arrived at 10:30 p.m. (first the water). The starter even came before the wine. Finally the food came (although something was missing, of course). This did not meet expectations. Steak had probably been lying around ready for a while. It was more than medium rare and lukewarm. Potato gratin was almost cold. Sauce was tasteless. But hey, it gets worse. After 5 minutes some Licher show started. It got dark in the restaurant while we ate. This was the most senseless thing I've ever seen. I didn't think I would need sunglasses in the restaurant because it was so blinding from those party lights. Due to the delays, it wasn't even possible to order dessert. Luckily one of the waiters was nice enough to organize this. But overall a complete disaster. I would never go there again. This is purely a profiling of the host which comes at the expense of the service and thus the guest experience.

The Meerbar has been a permanent address in Düsseldorf for me for years and for good reason. The food impresses every time with quality, taste and beautiful presentation. Meerbar, Düsseldorf — 3/5 Stylish place, no doubt about it. The interior is sleek and modern, and the atmosphere is great — perfect for a date or a business dinner. The location in Medienhafen adds to the charm, especially at night with the water and city lights. But… the service doesn't quite live up to the vibe. The staff is polite, but not very attentive — I had to repeat my order a couple of times and waiting times were longer than expected. Prices are on the higher side, and while some dishes were really good, others felt pretty average for what you're paying. Wine selection is solid, cocktails are hit or miss. Overall, it’s fine for ticking off the list or going somewhere trendy, but it didn’t leave me wanting to come back. Three stars: for the ambiance, a few standout dishes, and the music. Just didn’t get that “wow” moment.

We ate at the Meerbar at the weekend and had reserved a table for seven people two weeks in advance. However, when we arrived we were allocated a table for six. When we pointed out that there were seven of us and had made a reservation for seven, we were simply offered to add an additional chair. I found that really inappropriate because the table was already way too narrow. I then spoke to another waiter and luckily he gave us a larger table where we all had enough space. From then on it was a really nice evening. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive, and we really enjoyed the food. However, there was an unpleasant moment when paying: We noticed how a lady - apparently the manager of the service staff - was quite disrespectfully telling our waiter that he should pay more quickly so that the table would be free. I just find it inappropriate to say something like that in front of the guests. We felt uncomfortable at that moment and honestly felt sorry for the waiter. Overall, we had a nice evening with good food and friendly service, but this situation leaves a bad aftertaste.

The ambience is very nice. Since I occasionally go to Bocconchino across the street for work, I had corresponding expectations. The managerial staff was consistently short and inattentive. The temporary help, on the other hand, was very friendly and attentive. The taste of the food was not good 👎🏻 What a shame!

Unfortunately, our visit wasn't quite as pleasant as we had hoped. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our drinks and food, which was lukewarm and underseasoned. We felt the food was overpriced for the quality. The atmosphere wasn't ideal either – the music was so loud that normal conversation was barely possible, and the restaurant was very crowded, making the space feel quite cramped. Unfortunately, the doorman didn't make a particularly welcoming impression, as he asked us whether we'd like to order a main course before we were even allowed in, despite having a reservation. The service was friendly but not very attentive. After we'd been sitting at our table for 15 minutes, ready to order, we weren't served until we asked for it ourselves.

I’m glad I chose this place for my friend’s birthday dinner. I was thrilled by all. All my expectations were met. The food were delicious., I always wanted to try Octopus and needed a fancy restaurant to try it on. I’m now obsess and inlove with it. Will surely come try for more in the menu.

Today is Sunday, I just wanted to go out for a relaxed meal. Of course I was neatly dressed and only wore a capy (from the ysl brand). However, the "manager" wanted me to take them off (there were only 3 tables occupied), I didn't do it, I would have left €300, and I definitely won't let anyone tell me what I should and shouldn't wear. Afterwards it was suddenly ok for them to wear the capy. After such impudence, I of course got up immediately.

Interestingly, at the same moment guests were walking towards us in clearly loose clothing. Apparently it's not the dress code that decides here, but rather sympathy or age - the latter seems to be the actual reason, which they didn't want to say openly. Anyone who values ​​fairness and a professional appearance should avoid this store. Bouncers who sort things out at will instead of according to clear rules destroy every ambience. It's a shame that the staff go to this level.

Unfortunately, there were a few points that made my visit less pleasant. The wait for our food was significantly longer than expected. Unfortunately, when the dishes were finally served, the pasta was undercooked, which spoiled the enjoyment. In addition, it was so loud in the location that conversation was hardly possible.

I recently visited Meerbar and loved the welcoming atmosphere and excellent drinks. However, the food didn't quite meet my expectations and was rather average. I would therefore not decide on another visit just to eat. Nevertheless, the restaurant is recommended for a cozy evening with good drinks.

This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was late, half of it tasted terrible, and most dishes arrived lukewarm as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. The tuna steak was like cutting through rubber, and the truffle pasta was a complete disaster—bland, chemical, and totally inedible. To make matters worse, the manager was shockingly rude and completely unwilling to take any responsibility. Instead, they excused the appalling service and tasteless food by claiming, “This is Düsseldorf and a busy period, not Italy,” as if that somehow justifies failure on every front. Their dismissive and unprofessional attitude was the cherry on top of this miserable experience. Avoid this place at all costs—it’s a waste of time, money, and patience. The wine menu is also horrible.

We visited the Meerbar with 5 friends on Saturday evening. Unfortunately our experience is not good. After we sat down at our table and received the order cards, it took a long time for our order to be taken. The aperitif was brought and at the same time all the wine glasses were taken away Table taken, although we would have liked to order a bottle of wine with our meal. Unfortunately we weren't even asked if we wanted wine or something else with the meal. Unfortunately the food was delivered very differently. 2 out of 5 dishes came around 30 minutes later so eating together was not possible. We had to ask two different waiters for the salt and the parmesan twice, so both unfortunately only came when we were almost finished. What's embarrassing is that the Parmesan cheese was charged extra. Unfortunately, the food didn't convince us. Some of the food was only lukewarm when it was brought. The chicken was very fatty and the beef fillet tips were definitely not worth the money. Unfortunately, it felt like the employees were completely overwhelmed by the amount of customers. I have rarely experienced such poor and slow service. The Meerbar enjoys a good reputation that it no longer lives up to. It's a shame and I can no longer recommend it.

Some time ago we were on site with the company and the price/performance ratio was right. Yesterday - on my birthday - it was (to put it kindly) underground! It's best to hang jackets and coats over the back of a chair so that the waiters might step on them because the cloakroom is full. In addition, food that may satisfy the clientele between 20 and 35 in attendance, but not a palate that knows really good cuisine (dry fillet of beef, bad sea bass). Last but not least, bad stomach pain with corresponding consequences at night. For over €300 we think this is a disgrace! We won't be coming back again.

I was honestly surprised. I've been to your restaurant before and everything seemed to be going great. Til today. The waiter asked me to calculate my orders on my cell phone because he was “charging” his cell phone. I once worked as a waitress myself, but I've never seen such impudence. I was talking to my girlfriend and had to distract myself to get his work done. I would also say that I calculated a sum and he added a few cents to it (50), but that's more funny than annoying.

The restaurant impresses with its spacious design with a clear division into bar and à la carte areas as well as its attractive furnishings and good location. The style and ambience are positive. However, there are a few points of criticism that cloud the overall impression. At the reception the door is opened by the doorman, but there is no well-thought-out service inside, such as the acceptance of jackets or coats. Especially in winter, it is unpleasant to have to wait a long time in your coat to be shown to your seat. The cloakroom is downstairs in the à la carte area, which is difficult for first-time visitors to see - better signage would be appreciated. The place was also relatively cool, which made sitting uncomfortable. There was also a deficiency in the serving temperature, as the main course, especially the veal chop, was only served lukewarm. Despite the appealing overall concept and ambience, there is clear potential for improvement in the areas of service and general conditions.

For once we went at lunchtime and the sea bar was empty except for two other tables. Nevertheless, the food took forever, just like it does on evenings when the place is packed. The food was delicious as always and for the first time we treated ourselves to desserts as we were all still hungry. It was worth it, the dessert is not only delicious but also very lovingly presented.

Great location with a remarkable reception with escort to the reserved table. All employees are very pleasantly dressed. The food was a poem and the service rounded off the evening. Disrespectful and disappointing I had a reservation at this restaurant and was still turned away at the door because of my pants. This had a few paint stains, as is common on designer jeans these days. Aside from that, I was wearing a black top, black shoes, and my companion even had an elegant coat on - overall we were definitely dressed appropriately. The bouncer justified the rejection with an alleged dress code that was not communicated anywhere on the website or when making the reservation. It became particularly absurd when someone came out of the restaurant shortly afterwards wearing ripped skinny jeans with chains and a full tattoo. – apparently that’s more in keeping with this place’s taste. The bouncer made an effort and wanted to speak to the boss, but he apparently didn't even have the desire to come out and clarify the situation. Such disrespectful behavior from management is just disappointing. While I was standing outside, another person next to me remarked, "That's why I avoid this restaurant." And a look at the reviews shows that such experiences are unfortunately no exception. It seems like this place regularly stands out for its arrogance and arbitrary treatment of its guests. If a restaurant places such little emphasis on professionalism and hospitality, there is no reason to ever visit again. I can only advise everyone to give it a wide berth - there are plenty of alternatives that treat their guests with respect.

We have been guests at the Meerbar for many years and today we had a very nice evening with very good food. The service is always on point, even in a full restaurant. The beef fillet was perfect and the tuna carpaccio starter was a very large portion. We look forward to the truffle fries every time.... Thank you, we're already looking forward to next time.

Best place to drink champagne with the sunset view!

A super nice restaurant. I'm actually a regular customer at the Rocca 800 Grad restaurant. But the sea bar also really blew me away. Great ambience, delicious food with a large selection! The waiters could have been a little funnier and more personable, like in Rocca, but otherwise we were very satisfied. I celebrated my birthday there and was absolutely happy! Thank you very much and gladly again!

Felt like one of the typical Instragram spots that focus more on looks than anything else. Service was one of the worst I ever experienced. Staff does not care about guests and pays little attention. Service was very slow and made me feel unwelcome. Should have known already after the rude welcome. Stay away! There are far better places in the city!

we came here all the way from Holland, reserved for 10 persons and got a table for 8. after this inconvience we had to order our drinks to a ober with a horrible attitude. we ordered the drinks and the food at the same time, but in my opinion the food came much too late. we waited longer than a hour for our food while they tried to comfort us with dry bread. i thought this was a disgrace, very bad business from the restaurant.
