We celebrated a birthday there. The waiters were very attentive. The food was delicious and everything was freshly prepared. The price-performance ratio is excellent. The cell phone charging station also gets 5 stars. We'd be happy to come back. Definitely recommended.

A very nice and cozy Mediterranean restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and live music in the evenings. The food was delicious! The service was friendly and quick. I would recommend the beef bouillon in red wine sauce. Update 2025: I assume a new chef has been hired, as the food is no longer as delicious as I used to. The mashed potatoes were no longer tasty, the asparagus was very hollow, and the beef had so much fat.

The worst pizzas in Düsseldorf! I've been here several times, as my work is nearby and Basil's is nearby. And I've been disappointed every time. The pizzas have a hard crust, with a texture like stale bread. There's no trace of the airiness, freshness, and fluffiness of a good Italian pizza. The Margherita tastes oversalted and disgustingly bitter or sour, as if one of the ingredients had already expired. Every other pizza in Düsseldorf is better!

Very tasty, we had carpaccio and then spaghetti mare and fettuccine with fillet tips. Pasta cooked al dente, as it should be. Subtly spicy. Everything freshly prepared.

The food was very tasty, but I found it too crowded, extremely stuffy and much too warm. We waited a very long time for the food (up to an hour). Overall it was OK but I wouldn't go there again.

Basil’s is a wonderful spot combining Greek and Italian flavors with a modern touch. The food is fresh and flavorfu, highlights include the grilled dorade and truffle pasta. Well.. Endless power outages, we wanted to celebrate a birthday here and at 00.06 the waiter annoyed us to pay for the 6th time. Okay for spontaneous, but definitely difficult if you're planning something like a birthday

Not very pretentious, but nothing bad. Food is fine, service too. It was a large place where we could eventually accommodate 12 people, which was very nice. Despite the number of tables, we were served quickly and the wine was served quickly. After the meal the attention of the service is a lot less prompt. When paying, the question whether you want to give 10 or 15 percent 'drink money' is quite rude. I would rather have given nothing more at that moment. Therefore 2 stars for service, otherwise it would have been four.

It's a place I've known for a very long time. I always felt welcome, family, friends, acquaintances and business partners always felt very comfortable. That has a lot to do with the boss, Basile, but also with his team. And live music on the weekend. The atmosphere is great, everyone seems to forget where they come from because everyone is celebrating together. It's peaceful, no, even friendly, even though you don't even know each other.

Live music really makes a lovely atmosphere. Starter platter highly recommended. We had lamb as main course, exceptionally good.

Easily accessible by subway, it is directly opposite the Graf-Adolf-Platz station. The service is very attentive but not intrusive and the dishes we chose were well prepared and very tasty. So if you don't always want to eat the same thing and are in Düsseldorf, you can have a good time at Basil's.

This was my second night in a row in Basil’s, so I walked in with a small bottle of water and proceeded to drink some, when a gentleman who I thought was dining opposite me loudly said “did you bring that water with you, you cannot drink it here, put it in your bag”. Turns out this was a bald headed waiter (must also be the owner based on his behavior) who was dining alongside customers, which also is not customary. I just found that extremely rude and German!! I ordered 3 beers and 3 dishes. When in Germany you always tend to get a taste of their well known history!

Very tasty but also expensive food. Very attentive service. A small disadvantage is the noise caused by the many guests.

Great Mediterranean restaurant on Graf Adolf Platz. We were here on Tuesday evening (for the first time) and were completely satisfied: Nice, cozy atmosphere, very friendly and attentive and at the same time not intrusive service and, above all, very tasty food! We had the mixed Basil's starters (hot and cold) and shared a portion for two of three (that also went without any problems!) and then had the truffle pasta and the Loup de Mar. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented and... absolutely worth the price. I'll definitely come back and try the tuna steak!

Friday evening we visited this restaurant for the first time and definitely the last time. I ordered a seafood salad which would have been really tasty with some kind of sauce. What surprised us is that we paid 15.80 euros for two uncapped bottles of water. The water came from the tap, which is unique.

The food is superb!!! Can highly recommend it! Even the table bread is very delicious!!! However inside it’s slightly noisy in the evening and also the lights tend to flicker which is a bit irritating. If you have someone who is prone to migraines, I would not recommend this places

Highly recommend service , food and atmosphere is TOP!

The restaurant is about a 20-minute walk from the main station, and you won't hear any street noise in the back area. The ceilings are very high, so there is a lot of noise at many group tables. Therefore 1 star deducted for the ambience. The service and the food are great - but the vegan selection could be expanded (main courses available, but no dessert). The drinks have a fair price. Would go again :)

Best restaurant with the tastiest food and great atmosphere

Seafood salad and octopus carpaccio as a starter, spaghetti frutti de mare and rack of lamb as a main course were excellent. Dessert tiramisu and panna cotta were more OK than great. The service was attentive but never intrusive, a smooth A.

Great opportunity to have a delicious and not too expensive lunch in the center of Düsseldorf. Lots of space, but still cozy and not too loud! We'd love to come back!

I don't understand how this restaurant can get 4.6 stars. The service was poor: our reservation was forgotten and we were given a table that was far too small for our group. The wait between courses was long and the food arrived uncoordinated, with some already eating while others were still waiting. In addition, the quality left a lot to be desired - the salad was old and contained stalks, and my colleague's meat was tough and overcooked. The music was so loud that it was almost impossible to have a conversation, making the atmosphere more reminiscent of a pub than a restaurant. I cannot recommend the restaurant and will not visit it again.

Live music - if you like it, you're happy, it wasn't my taste. But the food was excellent, I was very surprised and the price was reasonable. very fair, not cheap, but not too expensive either.

A great Italian restaurant, run by non-Italians. The offer is good both from the point of view of the Pitti and the choice of wines. Good service and very attentive staff. Prices in line with the city where we are, a little high for Italy. The only negative note is that it is a little noisy, especially when live music starts.

The service on site is terrible and slow. - We ordered a bottle of wine and the employee served it abruptly and without any care. - We ordered 3 pastas, which were good - the one with truffle and parmesan was worth it; the shrimp one was well seasoned but the shrimp were raw. - They brought bread for starters but no olive oil or seasonings (like at other tables). We had to ask. - One of the plates and glasses were dirty. - There was live music in the background (good initiative!) but it was so loud that we couldn't hear each other at our table. - The place is nice but needs renovation. - The water on the menu is a different brand than the one they serve. It's an already opened bottle, and it looks like they fill it with tap water. They charge the same price as the water that is on the menu. - On the door there is a menu with prices and inside the prices they give us on the menu are different (more expensive!), as are the options. - In the end we ordered coffee which was super roasted and cold - We had dinner by candlelight, as they turned off the lights. Summary: Wouldn't go back. Very high prices for the quality and service offered. It is not proportional.

Leider hat das Lokal unglaublich abgebaut. Die Bemühungen des Lifesängers, der wirklich gut war, konnte das Niveau des Restaurants nicht nennenswert steigern. Vor allem die Freundlichkeit der Bedienung lässt zu Wünschen übrig. Patzige Antworten haben wir uns laufendend bieten müssen. Im Anbetracht der gesalzenen Preise und des ehemalig guten Rufs wurden unsre Erwartungen nicht erfüllt. Wir waren eher immer wieder negativ irritiert. Wir werden nicht wieder kommen.

Just awesome. The waiter was an 11/10. The food was very tasty. The price is of course higher than usual. But I'm happy to pay for quality like this. The ambience with the open kitchen was also great, but there could have been more. Personally, I don't care about that when choosing a restaurant. For me it's more about the food and good service.

For starters we had squid, some of the best we've ever tasted. Afterwards we ate rack of lamb, super tender and intense in taste. Price performance was very good, the portions were rather large. The service was extremely friendly, quick and attentive. The espresso at the end was of course of perfect Italian quality.

I would like to thank Basil’s for the amazing experience. We were group of 13 people for a business dinner there. Our table was well prepared, the food and service was flawless. We were served by a very sympathic waiter, this made our experience even more enjoyable. The price was also fair for what we had. Overall, great experience! Thank you for everything!

Mixed experience at Basil's Restaurant Basil's Restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience with good food and courteous service. The quality of the food was excellent, however the prices were slightly higher than expected. The service was prompt and friendly, but the drinks, especially the cocktails, weren't quite up to par. Parking is limited and the restaurant gets very busy on weekends, so reservations are strongly recommended. Overall, Basil's offers a solid option for an enjoyable evening, although you should expect some limitations due to prices and parking issues.

Table reserved for two people from 6:00 p.m. We were placed at the entrance and then asked to be moved because it was cold and uncomfortable at the entrance at the time. As long as we're ready by 7 p.m., we're told it won't be a problem, despite the reservation. You could have received a note when you made your reservation saying, "It's better not to come until 7 p.m." As soon as it was implemented, you were greeted by the smell of cigarettes, as the kitchen crew and service staff apparently weren't on duty yet. I think you can still smoke in front of the door, there is a law to that effect. Personally, I was already thinking about it, but I wanted to give it a chance because I just know things differently at Basil's. The service was good, as was the food, drinks and ambience towards the end. We can actually recommend Basil's, but you should think about whether you go later or only at lunchtime. The deductions are due to the cigarette smoke and the bumpy start. I would personally spend my money at another restaurant in the evening and maybe try Basil's again for lunch. Update: At some point, complaints and emails from the lawyer will come against reviews that the owner does not like. That's why I would never eat here again and look critically at the average rating.

I don’t know how to feel about this place. The waiters and staff are weird and not so friendly. Last time I went there was for my birthday and I wasn’t really satisfied whether with the food or the drinks.

Ich war zum ersten Mal im Basil's, der erste Eindruck war sehr gut , kurze Zeit später stellte sich aber heraus, dass es unangenehm Laut ist.Die Musikalische Untermalung, als auch die Live Darbietung und auch das Drumherum haben den Abend definitv für mich nicht entspannt werden lassen. Der Kellner war leider ziemlich gestresst und das hat man sehr deutlich gemerkt im Service. Das Essen dafür war einwandfrei. Ob es jeden Abend dort entsprechend Laut ist, kann ich noch nicht einschätzen,gebe dem ganzen aber noch eine Chance.

Tolles Restaurant, schöne Auswahl an Speisen. Die Vorspeisen waren super zusammengestellt und die Hauptspeisen auf den Punkt gebraten. Das Personal ist klasse.

Lekker gegeten daar. Goede service. Vrij grote restaurant. Dat viel niet op als je langs loopt. Die avond waren alle tafels bezet, kon je ook merken door het geluid van het kletsen van de mensen. Jammer dat het licht zo fel was. Maar heerlijk eten.

Großes, aber wirklich schönes Restaurant und Bar. Der Service war gut, die Cocktails gut, beim Pornstar Martini habe ich das extra Gläschen mit Champagner/Prosecco vermisst. Oktopus uns Baby Calamari waren sehr zart und lecker, die Fischsuppe sehr reichhaltig, die Garnelen Saganaki haben Luft nach oben, was das Gleichgewicht von Süße, Säure und Gewürzen angeht. Eigentlich wollte ich unbedingt die Trüffel Nudeln bestellen, bei Auswahl der Bestellung wurde aber schon frühzeitig mitgeteilt, dass diese seh viel bestellt wurden und daher aus waren. Was komisch war, dass eigentlich Küche bis 22 Uhr sein sollte, die offene Küche aber schon um 21:15 Uhr sauber gemacht wurde... Alles in allem ein Besuch wert.

Das Essen war gut, der Service ok, aber es war nicht so besonders, wie ich es mir nach Anschauen der Website vorgestellt habe.

Sorry but this isn't my place , I read all the reviews online and I thought let's try this place. Is more like a neighborhood bar and food place but food was salty , and it took so long . Service was nice though but the food has to improve less salt is better

Sollte eine gute Erfahrung werden. Leider nicht dazugekommen, weil der Kellner komplett verpeilt war.

Leider waren einige Gerichte, die auf der Karte ausgeschrieben waren nicht verfügbar. Das Ambiente war Laut und Unruhig - das Essen war gut - gibt bessere Restaurants

Toller Ort zum Essen ausgehen. Die Live-Musik ist auch klasse und hebt die Stimmung an. Der Service ist nett, allerdings hin und wieder etwas langsam aber trotzdem sehr hilfreich und aufmerksam.

Die offene Küche hat schon was. Mein gegrillter Lachs war fantastisch. Freundlicher und guter Service. Wurde dann auf Dauer zwar etwas laut (eben Freitag Abend), aber ansonsten war's ein schöner Abend

Ich bin das erste Mal im Basils und restlos begeistet. Diese Art des Service habe ich lange nicht mehr erlebt. 5 Sterne. Meine Trüffelpasta waren hervorragend. Der Nachtisch (Tiramisu) köstlich. Ich werde nun öfter kommen :)

A few years back I visited Basil's and we had a great time there, got great service and loved the athmosphere. This time the place was half empty and the waiter was not welcoming and was in fact quite rude. The food was good though so my compliments to the chef. But snappy answers from the waiter to simple questions and giving us the feeling that we interrupting when asking about the menu was not ok and made us feel unwanted there.

Habe gegrillten Lachs bestellt. Der Geschmack war grandios! Noch nie so einen leckeren knusprigen aber innen soften Lachs gegessen. Zudem war die Portion sehr groß - was ich allerdings nicht gedacht hätte! War positiv überrascht und das preislich perfekt abgestimmt. Mein Besuch war an einem Samstag und es gab italienische Livemusik. Der Pianist hat gesungen und sich selber auf dem Piano begleitet. Er hat auch Englische und noch paar anderssprachige bekannte Lieder gesungen! Also für Jedermann was dabei! Der Service war sehr höflich - so wie es sich zu solch einem Restaurant gehört. Dem Kellner hat man angemerkt, dass er seit mindestens 10 Jahren Erfahrung in der Gastronomie hat. Wenn der Service stimmt hat man schon mehr als die halbe Miete! Ich werde sicherlich euer Lokal mehrmals besuchen. Ich freu mich darauf! Lg Cayir

Essen super, aber auch hochpreisig. Leider wurden wir trotz Vorbestellung mit 6 Personen an einen Minnitisch platziert... Der große Tisch neben uns war den ganzen Abend unbesetzt 😒 Die Getränkepreise sind übrigens absolut in Ordnung... Es sieht sogar "KÖLSCH" auf der Speisekarte! 🙃😀
