He was completely satisfied 👍 We weren't an easy group, and the service handled it incredibly professionally. The woman, Jessi, with the blonde curls (she normally has straight hair 😂), was fantastic 😉😘 The owner himself took care of us, which is really unusual 🤟

We discovered this restaurant a year ago and are now frequent guests. We love poultry, and the selection here is very extensive. Everything is excellently prepared, including the salads. Very friendly service creates a cozy atmosphere. Everything you need to feel at home.

Really good food at a fair price. The chicken patties were juicy, delicious, and fresh. I had the chicken baguette. The baguette was amazing, fresh and well-filled, nothing like Kentucky Fried Chicken or McVitie's chain burgers. We'd love to come back. Keep it up!

Yeah, it's awful when Google says 12 to 10 pm, you drive there for 30 minutes with hungry kids, and the actual time is 5 to 10 pm. Very disappointing.

Friendly service, nice presentation, but unfortunately, it was the last time I was there... I put my fork down on the side salad, and a live white flourworm escaped from the salad. I was given a fresh fork and a new salad, with the comment that this could happen even if the salad was thoroughly washed. As far as I know, these little creatures form in flour, grains, rice, etc. At the end, I was offered a free ice cream, which I politely declined. They charged me the full price. An absolute no-go.

The pumpkin cream soup was divine. Absolutely delicious. As always, the service was very friendly and helpful. We were once again completely satisfied.

The service is great and friendly. The wings and chicken have halved in meat content in recent years, I'd say. The best thing about it is the spritzer price of €5.90, and that's right in the heart of the Palatinate region.

We had a reservation for 5 people at 7 p.m. on Friday. The service was abysmal. After 35 minutes at our assigned table, someone finally came and took our drink order. After another 30 minutes, the drinks arrived... but unfortunately, they weren't the ones we had ordered. Okay, fine... It happens. The food order was just as disastrous... even though we hadn't ordered anything particularly complex. 3 chickens with salad and fries 1 nugget with fries and 2 additional dips. First, the salads were missing, then no fries arrived. I personally noticed a deterioration in the taste. The chicken at the previous "Walthari" was far better. Also, there are no sweet potato fries on the menu anymore. When it came to the checkout, it was all over... things were being booked back and forth. At first, there were too many drinks on the bill, then there weren't... 2. Disaster!! Such a shame... This place used to be a real insider tip. Better go to Gockelburg... Tastes better.

The chicken was overcooked, very dark brown, and the fries and potato salad weren't good. You could have had better for the price.

The food was terrible; the cheese spaetzle was dry and hard. The salad mentioned on the menu only arrived upon request and was added separately to the receipt. The garden is beautiful, but it doesn't make for better food. We'll never be back.

We stopped at the Zeter Berghaus on our way and then walked to Edenkoben to visit the village festival. On the way there we passed by McGockel and decided to end the day here. What can I say, we were not disappointed. We drank a delicious wine here and the boss gave us permission to stop in even for just one. As we sat there in this wonderful wine/beer garden we somehow felt like having a second wine. Of course this couldn't be without a little something to eat. So we had something to eat, even if it was just a little something. It was a perfect end to a great day. The staff and the boss were both extremely friendly and we received friendly and competent service. There's no question about it, we'll be back with reinforcements.

Highly recommended; we always look forward to going to McGockel's whenever we're nearby. The owner is super friendly, the service attentive and friendly, and the food delicious. This time we had chicken wings—one with regular seasoning and one with medium spice—with BBQ honey dip, garlic dip, and curry dip. The side salad is also fantastic; the dressing is top-notch. To finish off, we received a super-creamy praline ice cream on the house and a passion fruit schnapps. They also offer delicious wines at reasonable prices. For two people with two dishes, a side salad, a portion of fries, two wines, and a large Sprite, we paid €51.

We used to be very impressed with the place. I don't know if there's a new owner, but the food really wasn't good. The wings and schnitzel were very dry and almost inedible. We think it's a shame, as we drove 30 km to get them. The prices are also rather high and quite steep. All in all, that's not good and unfortunately needs a lot of improvement. The service is also extremely overworked, even though the place wasn't particularly busy. It used to be a lot better.

We spontaneously stopped in for dinner because of the good reviews. The dishes we ordered weren't worth a single star. Dried-out cheese spaetzle with canned fried onions, no salad garnish or decorations. A chicken burger in a toasted, very dark bun that fell apart as soon as we bit into it. The best part was the beer garden.

We can only recommend it again at any time. Great fried chicken, I haven't eaten something this good in a long time. There were four of us there on Saturday, and despite the approaching thunderstorm everything went smoothly and professionally. We would love to come back when we are in Edenkoben again

Unfortunately we didn't have a particularly great stay. A waitress who was so unfriendly to us that we actually wanted to leave after 5 minutes and who then deliberately made us wait 20 minutes for the bill, which was also wrong (wheat never arrived, wrong dish for children was delivered). The food itself was ok, the fries were pretty salty and 1 euro for a small bowl of ketchup is ridiculous. So we won't be coming back!

Poultry meatballs with creamed savoy cabbage and buttered potatoes. 😋👌🏻 The meatballs were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The creamed savoy cabbage harmonized wonderfully with its spiciness and the butter potatoes. I would order this dish again at any time. The space looks very cozy thanks to the wood and the rooster ambience. The staff works quickly and is very attentive. The toilets are in the basement, which is good to know if you have people with handicaps with you. We will definitely come back here

It's nice that on a sunny January Sunday with the infamous flood from our neighboring state, there are still places you can visit without prior reservation. We had previously gone hiking and were a bit annoyed by places that now take up all the places through advance reservations and have no heart for spontaneous visitors after a longer hike. Not so in the McGockel, which we visited for the first time, also due to the very positive reviews on Google. There were enough free seats there around 1:30 p.m. and the atmosphere is generally appealing and quite cozy. The menu is based around the theme of chicken and poultry and the menu is large enough so that everyone should be able to find what they are looking for here. Service was reserved and unobtrusive, the waiting time for the food was average (approx. 20-25 minutes) and the portions were quite large. We found the salads (dressing) delicious, but the poultry meatballs tasted a bit bland/unseasoned, the accompanying pepper sauce was okay but not perfect either (grade 2-3). The price/performance ratio can be described as good due to the large portions, only the Müller Schorle is a bit expensive by Palatinate standards.

The operation and service were great, very nice and competent. Unfortunately the food wasn't good at all. We had the crispy schnitzel with fries and the MC Gockel burger. The fries were fried to nothing. The schnitzel was also fried and placed on the plate really dripping. The meat was guaranteed to be of high quality, but it was hard to enjoy because of all the fat. The burger was okay so far, but the meat was extremely fatty because it was fried. The garlic dip was very tasty. The prices are great. Maybe we just had a bad day :(

My chicken was not good, a mix of rubbery and dry. I believe it was prepared many hours before serving and reheated for a long time. A big disappointment for a restaurant that specializes in this. Also, it took almost an hour to get served in a restaurant that was 1/3 full. Why?

We traveled from Sevierville, Tennessee to landau Germany to visit family and were invited to McGockel restaurant to try their food. Let me tell you it was the best chicken, chicken wings, I’ve ever tried! The sauces were exceptional and the half chicken entree was juicy and so flavorful! We had salads to start ( excellent) and finished with a plateful of ice cream and fruit pastries. Could not of had a better meal!
