McDonald's Restaurant in Bochum

I find this McDonald's branch (Bochum Dückerweg exit) to be the dirtiest and filthiest branch I've ever been to. Even in non-European branches, it didn't look nearly as filthy. The restroom on the first floor apparently hadn't been cleaned in a while. Thick dust coupled with some kind of dried bodily fluids on all the porcelain, etc. In addition, the soap dispenser in the men's restroom upstairs has broken out of the wall, and only a refill bottle has been placed on the sink. Clipped/chewed fingernails and toothnails are all over the floors, etc. All the seats and table surfaces are dirty, greasy, etc. Windows and floors are sticky, dirty, and greasy. This is a case for the franchisor and the health department. Incidentally, ordering with table service took almost 40 minutes, even though the restaurant wasn't full at all today, October 20, 2025, around 2:15 PM. Two employees preferred to stand outside the main entrance with their cell phones and cigarettes in their hands.

It's a shame that politeness and good manners are no longer a given. You approach an employee with a smile, and they brush you off before you can even begin to speak. In a tone and manner that is completely inappropriate in a customer service setting.

Toilet hygiene and cleanliness in the hotel are rather -1 star.

No more Plant Burgers. Why?? No playground and no play area...we thought that was a shame.

The truly disgusting toilets, which desperately need a thorough cleaning (just close the doors when you're in there...), hopefully don't give any indication of the hygiene in the kitchen. On September 14th, at 2:00 PM, the dining room was completely filthy with toilet paper on the floor. I'd rather not...

Instead of plant-based nuggets, they served chicken nuggets. Instead of pepper nuggets, they served chicken nuggets. Everything was dirty and the service was unfriendly.

Centrally located, the parking lot is busy, but we found a free parking space. The food was served quickly and friendly, but the old classics are getting smaller and smaller—I guess that's called inflation. 🍔

Today, we went to McDonald's on our way home from work specifically because we wanted the Hello Kitty X Ninja Turtles Happy Meal figures. Since they only allow you to order via terminal or app, we did the latter. Beforehand, however, we asked if the figures were currently available. They confirmed that they were, and also told us that we could choose which ones we wanted later if it wasn't available. So we found a free table and ordered via the app. We had to wait quite a while for our food, but since it was quite busy, that was understandable. We also got really hot fries and nuggets. My cheeseburger was a bit cold, but it was okay. After eating, we wanted to swap figures as discussed, but the counter very rudely sent me away with a "no way." When I replied that the colleague (presumably a branch manager or shift manager, at least he was wearing a checked shirt) had told us it was okay, I was given a smug smile, fobbed off with a "No, it's too busy right now," and left standing there. We then decided to simply wait a bit longer, hoping it would clear up a bit, but it didn't. After a total of almost 1.5 hours in the far too loud and very warm "restaurant," we went back to the checkout, where I was simply ignored by all three employees who were filling the tablets and bags. Only the rude employee grinned at me and shook his head maliciously before disappearing again. An absolute disgrace and no way to treat paying (!) customers, especially when you pack the same character twice in three Happy Meals. The service here is truly terrible! The food is, well, McDonald's, so for what it is, I'll simply give it four stars, especially because it was hot. The ambiance was quite modern, though not everything was clean. What I found most unpleasant was the noise level. Firstly, because of the constant loud beeping of alarms from the kitchen, and secondly, because the colleague who so rudely turned me away was also acting like a "market barker," shouting the order numbers across the restaurant in a truly unbearable tone.

The burgers (cheeseburger, double cheeseburger) and fries tasted as expected – solid McDonald's standard quality. Unfortunately, the overall condition of the restaurant was very disappointing. Cleanliness: Tray racks not cleared, sticky floor on the stairs, restrooms in an unsanitary state. Climate: Insufficient air conditioning in the summer – it was extremely warm inside, making eating there unpleasant. Outside: The tray rack outside was overfilled and not cleaned. As a result, around 20-30 wasps gathered directly at the tables. Hygiene issue: Of particular concern was the fact that a rodent (mouse or rat) approached the tray rack – an absolute no-go in the restaurant industry. Overall, this condition does not meet what one would expect from a large chain like McDonald's. There is an urgent need to improve hygiene and cleanliness.

Worst McDonald's I've ever visited. The restrooms were in absolutely disgusting condition—filthy, with dried-on dirt in every corner, and a broken door that you had to hold shut yourself. I actually wanted to order matcha, but nothing was available in the middle of the weekday morning. So I settled for a coffee, which I still only got after almost five minutes—even though there was no one in front of me and there were hardly any customers in the restaurant. The employee also seemed very unenthusiastic. This kind of service in an empty restaurant is truly unacceptable.

If I could, I'd give it 0 stars. Food: Burgers were cold, the rest was okay. Service: Terrible, especially the owner; you're simply ignored. Cleanliness: None! The entire place is filthy, the railing is covered in grease, and the restrooms are terrible! Not even hardcore rockers/festivalgoers would use them! Every train station restroom is cleaner, whether men's or women's. When I pointed out that the restrooms were a disgrace, I just got a shrug, I think that says it all. Never again!

My boyfriend and I arrived around midnight. It was busy, and some people were waiting over an hour for their orders. We ordered vegan nuggets, among other things, but we definitely didn't get vegan nuggets. I once had a package of mixed real and plant-based nuggets at another branch, and I can tell the difference by taste and appearance. I think this shouldn't happen because of food intolerances and because vegan nuggets are so expensive. It's a shame.

The cult McDonald's in Bochum is no longer my recommendation. On Tuesday evening, it was completely overwhelmed, so we drove to the next McDonald's on the A40.

What a terrible store. Stopped briefly at McColl's Drive-In yesterday. What can I say? Simply a disaster. Fries without salt, the Coke without carbonation and without ice was way too warm. I have been a customer of the McDonald's on Dückerweg for as long as I can remember. While my experiences have always been consistently positive, today the bar was raised considerably. My wife had a minor issue with an order. I followed up on it today, and despite the restaurant being full, my concerns were addressed intensively. At my request, the restaurant manager took the time to jointly investigate the issue and quickly presented a highly satisfactory solution. Why this is so noteworthy: Every McDonald's customer should have realized by now how fast-paced the daily work of McDonald's employees is. The fact that, despite this pressure, they maintain the empathy, professionalism, foresight, and commitment to always satisfy customers feels almost like a privilege to me as a customer. I can only congratulate McDonald's on being able to hire someone of this caliber who has put together such a great team. The best McDonald's in Bochum!!!!! I've been coming here for years and even known the cleaning lady since she started working there. She wasn't always super friendly – ​​but honestly: When you see how some customers behave, you can understand why. She keeps the place clean, and it shows. The McDonald's is generally tidy, the restrooms are usually clean (which isn't a given at fast-food restaurants), and the food comes out quickly. Sure, it takes a little longer during peak hours, but the drive-thru is pretty reliable. What I particularly appreciate: The staff remains calm, even when customers become rude – and unfortunately, that happens often. Anyone who behaves normally will be treated well here. In conclusion: Not perfect, but reliable, clean, and with dedicated employees. I'll continue to enjoy coming here!

They have a Mc Café here but it isn't being used. Even after I asked, the employee said that nothing was coming from the counter. Unfortunately, the good coffee machine isn't being used by the staff.

I won't go there with my son again. We wanted to pay in cash and had to wait at least half an hour before we could pay. Well, what can I say? I spent €70 shopping and came home and half of it was missing. It's my fault because I didn't get it. It's actually sad, the bad thing is that you can't eat the burger at all 😡 and it was lovingly thrown on top. I couldn't eat it and had to throw the cheese away instead of it being a burger. We simply wanted to order a cappuccino or latte macchiato for on the go. However, the employees at the branch weren't ready when they opened and were busy preparing. Why customers had to wait at the counter while ice cubes were being refilled at 7 a.m. is beyond me. Otherwise, there were still chairs on the tables from cleaning... so it didn't look like they were prepared for customers. It didn't matter to us in this case, since we just wanted a coffee to go anyway.

We stood in the McDonald's drive-thru for 12 minutes today before we could even order. Another 10 minutes before we got our food. There were already frustrated customers inside because things weren't moving forward. So, for the past few weeks, this branch has been a disaster. Waiting 50 minutes for your food isn't exactly what I would call "fast food." If you ask after 35 minutes, you'll just be told that it's full. Other guests who came later got their food and left before I even had mine. My companion also had her meal 15 minutes earlier than me and was finished just as I was ready to start. But at least the order was complete, which unfortunately fails far too often.

Waited 15 minutes for 4 drinks and actually two burgers. The employee takes the order slip and then goes to the checkout and, with the slip in her hand, serves a customer who does not understand the order machine system. Either you do one or the other! As if the waiting time for a QUICK restaurant wasn't bad enough, one of the two burgers we ordered was missing. Despite a direct complaint (we wanted to eat outside), they refused to believe us that the burger was missing and only after a “discussion” with the manager?! We received the burger. We will avoid this branch in the future.

Unfortunately I had to give one star because no star isn't possible.

To be honest, I've never had such a bad meal at McDonald's. The fries came cold from the kitchen and the burger had too much sauce, salad and was somehow cold. What the hell happened to the Mc Sundae the ice cream melted in 2 minutes. A rat walked by outside this store. Never again. I don't recommend anyone to eat here. Mix up drinks and the food is a waste for no reason.

I mostly feel sorry for the employees because the store is always full and it can be stressful. But unfortunately that doesn't mean that as a customer you can forego the service at the same price. Every burger has little sauce. I just ate a Big Tasty and there was hardly any sauce on it. The cheeseburgers also had almost no ketchup. The medium fries were tiny. So actually everything was SHIT, but the price stayed the same and can keep going up. Please check who is so stingy, because many people in the kitchen do it right, but not everyone. I was in this branch yesterday and was really disappointed. The smell in the restaurant has been unbearable for months - it smells of old grease and poor hygiene. It is very unpleasant and spoiled the whole visit. After the visit I also had gastrointestinal problems. I have been a loyal McDonald's customer since childhood, but I will definitely avoid this branch now. What a shame! I hope McDonald's does something urgently about this.
