McDonald's in Salzgitter

Everything was fine. Like any current McDonald's, really. No big surprises. Wait times were normal. Food was as usual.

I ordered online from here and didn't receive the McFlurry. I called and was only told that it couldn't be reordered, and now I'm stuck with the costs. I definitely wouldn't recommend them and won't be ordering from them again.

Yesterday afternoon there were endless waiting times, really annoying.

Really bad, forgets a lot, not good Salzgitter bath, better.

Only if you have time! In most cases, expect a wait of up to 30 minutes. The screens don't work. The food preparation indicator is always off. I'm totally depressed after every visit. That was the last time, I promised. I always thought, "Oh, it'll be better next time," but no, it just gets worse. They keep making it worse.

I was in the drive-thru for 20 minutes. Nobody spoke to me. Afterwards, they didn't want to take my order either.

McDonald's Salzgitter-Lebenstedt, please hire people who understand German, who can actually work and not sleep during their shifts. Over 30-minute wait at the McDrive and still the order wasn't complete 🤬🤬🤬

The staff is very friendly, and everyone is easy to get along with. So far, everything has tasted just like you'd expect from McDonald's. I haven't noticed anything negative. But we've never eaten there.

I've often waited in the McDrive for over 20 minutes without a car in front of me. It just takes too long. Today, after waiting 20 minutes, I learned that the McPlant is no longer available. As a vegetarian, it was always a great alternative for me. It's a shame that McDonald's has regressed in this regard. I won't be coming back.

Addendum October 2025: Wow. I really don't come here often. But the bad service remains... To all employees who have any kind of customer contact: I don't give a damn if you're annoyed or stressed or anything else. If I'm friendly, say hello and thank you, even smile even though I have no reason to be since I'm not being noticed, then you have to be just as friendly!!! Aside from the 'cleanliness' and the slapped-together food, this service is an absolute disaster! Unbelievable. It's NOT getting any better at either McDonald's in SZ Bad and Lebenstedt!!! First review March 2024: Somehow, nothing was in stock. I wanted Coke in a regular cup - it wasn't available. Only reusable. However, I could order Fanta in a regular cup. The carts for the dirty tablet were ALL overflowing and weren't emptied during our 1.5-hour visit, even though the store wasn't busy but there were plenty of employees. I won't even start on the restrooms. Absolutely disgusting! The cheeseburgers were just slapped together, and my child's Happy Meal wasn't even put together. Honestly, this is completely unacceptable.

Ordered and paid online, only pick up at the drive-thru. What a wait! All four burgers were cold. And barely any remoulade on the expensive fish-o-filet. 😡😡 Don't have the nerve to drive back, because then they'll cheekily claim you were out too long. Never again. 😱😱

I ordered a meal with 5 burgers plus nuggets and fries, but I only got fries and nuggets without the 5 burgers...

I've visited many McDonald's branches around the world, but the Salzgitter-Bad branch is by far the worst experience I've had so far. • Incomplete orders: Items are always left out of my orders. • Problems with Lieferando orders: I've ordered there several times via Lieferando. The orders were confirmed, the money was debited, but there was no delivery. When I inquired, they said there were no drivers available and that my order had been canceled. This wasn't the case. • Unprofessional atmosphere: On site, the branch feels more like a youth center, where many teenagers charge their phones, rather than a professional restaurant. Overall, the branch gives the impression that it's not operating properly. I strongly advise against ordering from or going to the branch. An urgent review by McDonald's is absolutely necessary.

I'm shocked at how poorly this McDonald's operates. You wait 10 minutes in the drive-thru just to place an order. It takes another 25 minutes for it to be picked up or handed out. For a fast-food restaurant, that's simply a complete disgrace. On top of that, the food wasn't even really hot; lukewarm would be more accurate. And the burger buns were like cardboard. I think this will be my last visit.

The fries were inedible. It wasn't busy, but it was pretty dirty. We sat outside. Whereup a rat suddenly ran up to us. We left immediately.

Unfortunately, everything is a mess here...I ordered table service, waited forever, and received cold burgers and fries...the table was sticky, and it was generally very dirty. I'm not stopping here anymore...

The service at McDrive is unfriendly and irritating. Toys left behind, even though they had stated they were there.

💀 I got 2xfilet-o-fish instead of big mac and chicken nuggets and the shaker fries are missing the powder. By the time the powder arrives, the fries are cold.

The restaurant is clean and well-maintained. The service there has improved slightly. Unfortunately, the food we ordered still arrives lukewarm. The ordering kiosks are good. The restrooms are clean. The ambiance is quite good. McDonalds could improve things a bit and offer hot meals for once. The delivery service is unfortunately extremely poor. Very long wait times, and the food arrives cold.

Very nice service and very clean McDonald’s. There also is much more diverse choice in the menu and quality somehow seems better than in the Netherlands and Belgium in my experience :)

Waited 20 minutes for two cheeseburgers. After 20 minutes, they were cold. After pointing out that they were cold, they took them away and packed them for another order, and waited another 15 minutes.

The food is okay, but the ice cream is a disaster: You order vanilla, but it tastes like bubblegum or something. Definitely not recommended. They don't even speak German.

The employee on August 14th at 8:30 PM was very unfriendly and we waited 10 minutes at the cash register and he ignored us. The store was empty and he did it on purpose.

I waited 15 minutes to pay for my order, and after repeated requests, I left the store without paying.

Special requests weren't accommodated, and the waitress noticed. I told the lady in the kitchen. She laughed at me at first and then asked what was going on? It doesn't matter! The ice cream I ordered had been sitting on the counter the whole time, and there was no new one! Unacceptable behavior. I'd rather go back to Vechelde, where they know a thing or two about service.

You often get the wrong things, and many employees don't even speak German, which is a bit annoying.🥑

Truly the worst McDonald's there is. Completely understaffed, they could just close down. I ordered on my phone, and after ten minutes, no one was at the cashier. I just walked out because I hadn't paid in advance. 0/10 Butze

Very, very long waits (McDrive) even though there were no cars in front of me. And nothing was happening inside either.

We had several burgers with fries and nuggets today. The grease was really old and tasted of fish. The nuggets were hard and just old grease that had been in the fryer too long, just like the fries. The new Chicken Big Mac was simply inedible because of the fish chicken. The only thing that was okay was the double Big Mac. The kids meal with the nuggets and fries went straight in the trash. If you have too much money and don't want to eat, you can order from there. Maybe the staff should be trained how to prepare the food properly. For over 60 euros you should get something better. The one star is only for the Big Mac and the toy.

Absolutely terrible McDonald's. When you order, you wait forever (about two hours). When you pick up at the drive-thru, your orders are incomplete and the burgers are already squashed.

We were passing through. The employees were stressed and seemed overwhelmed by the situation (rush hour, lots of customers), but they were still polite. Six of us were there, and I must say, I really appreciate that our order was complete (something we rarely experience at other branches). Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding with the table service, so as an apology, we were given an ice cream on the house at the end.

You pay almost €4 for an Oreo cheesecake that ends up ruined, with barely any sauce, and barely any Oreos. It's just a disgrace. I hope this place closes soon. Never again.

No, not anymore, the citizens have become so small that they become poor when they are full. The bigmac is as big as a hamburger 4 years ago. This was the last time I was there and I will never visit this store again in my life. If everyone did that, we would have old prices or old size of citizens. For the money I can eat better somewhere else.

Old burgers, 40+ minutes waiting for food (fast food?), worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been to…

You get old burgers, not what you ordered or melted ice cream. You also wait 40 minutes for your food and when it arrives there are leftovers stuck to the packaging.

There are now a lot of staff who can barely speak German, only speak English and then speak terribly quietly so that you can hardly hear your number, especially when there are so many people in the store. The warm plate was already overflowing and piling up this evening but we just couldn't keep up with the front. With three employees! When a customer said something, he was immediately reprimanded in an unfriendly manner, apparently by the manager of the shift, saying that there was nothing they could do about it if everyone came at once. That's not true, but you could expect it at two big festivals in the city on the same evening and have staff working accordingly. In addition, an employee then started calling numbers again in a very quiet voice. If he didn't get an answer straight away, the piece of paper with the order went into the trash. It doesn't work at all! You can hardly hear it even 2m away from the counter, how can you hear it further back?! The orders that went out at least seemed to be right, but if you're otherwise unable to work, you should avoid the store if it gets busy.

Food was delicious! It's been a long time now... unfortunately a reasonable order wasn't possible! The young woman at the McDrive counter couldn't speak our language! She didn't understand me and I didn't understand her! It's a shame...because I didn't get what I wanted!

Every time I'm there, there's a man sitting there with two PCs, not eating anything and working on his PCs! Is that somehow a warming hall or something???

Update 2025 - a lot has happened in this store now. There are a lot of new employees and you can tell that the work is much more customer-oriented. It would be nice if you kept it like that!!! unfortunately still underground… ordering only works via terminals. misleading price information on the screen. Instead of 6 nuggets there are only 5 in the pack... that's just not fun anymore. was the last attempt...

Terrible. The term fast food takes on a whole new meaning. You wait forever for your food. Especially in McDrive. Often something is missing from the order or there is something wrong. It really doesn't work at all. You should rethink your planning and concept.

They work very slowly and don't take anyone seriously. They didn't even make my milkshake properly

You just have to say the place is really bad and beats every other McDonald's. No matter when I order, the order always takes at least 2 hours. Now, in short, it's over 2 hours again. I think it would just be better to stop the delivery service again because this McDonalds can't get the chain in any way.

Service prefers to give away the food you paid for to your friends/acquaintances and then acts "oh the order went missing"

The toilets are dirty. The tables are not really clean, you have to clean them yourself with napkins.

Half of it is forgotten and then incredibly rude when you say something is missing

I was actually always quite satisfied and I also enjoyed the food quite well. But today was the only catastrophe, I ordered 20 nuggets and they didn't taste good anymore. Update to my previous poor review below early December 24th. We still have a chance at the store. And were surprised. The food was warm and what was another very important point… COMPLETELY!🤗 That's how it has to be. And since we thought it was a lucky hit, we tried again yesterday. And I'm amazed again. It was all inside. And I have to say, we are a family of 4 - so a correspondingly large order🤷‍♀️🤭 I felt that, they are working hard on the reviews 🙂 Old!!! Written at the beginning of December 2024!!! Based on the reviews, I don't think anyone knows why this store is still open. And unfortunately you won't learn from the reviews either. Today I gave the store another chance and ordered food to go. Unfortunately, when we got home we discovered that all of our fries and sauces were missing... Once again we didn't check and we bought a pig in a poke again.

Well, the staff is nice but clearly overwhelmed. Some of the burgers were carelessly slapped away. But this is generally a problem at McDonald's. Prices are raised and service reduced. Given this, I will avoid fast food in the future.

Definitely my last visit there, ordered 3 menus at the drive in but they forgot to put the fries in and only got 3 burgers. The employees also put a lot of stress on you to keep driving when it's full.

Total measures there. Ordered a few burgers for several people yesterday. Everyone ordered bacon three times and paid for it. When we got home where everyone was happy, we discovered that there was either no disc on it or only a small one. The fries for my daughter were sticky and cold, as were the nuggets. I wouldn't recommend this store!

Terrible loading. Knowledge of German is absolutely non-existent. Pure unfriendliness and no one can get the orders to be complete. So absolutely not recommended. You can save money there. Unfortunately you can't give zero stars so I have to leave one there.

Why is it always so difficult to prepare what you order correctly? Cappuccino with caramel shot ordered...but not received. This happens so often, not just in SZ-Leb. .....Pay yes, get no. Unfortunately I ordered it from Mc Drive and only noticed it on the car ride.

Why does McDonalds hire employees who don't even understand German properly and take my order completely wrong? Disaster with every order! First of all, my 20 nuggets are swapped and I get 20 spicy nuggets, and I am NOT given the 6 spicy nuggets that I paid for at ALL, and they also mix up the fries with curly fries and give me 3 sauces too little. It's even rude that they give me cold food. Please hire more competent employees who can take orders correctly and implement them without me having to check my food every time because they can't be bothered to read things off a screen and pack them correctly. As you can see in the picture, the package says 20 nuggets and not 20 SPICY nuggets. But surprise, there are 20 SPICY NUGGETS inside! At least food tastes good (when it's warm)

Hostile to disabled people/ableism! - Really worst MC Donald's visit I've had. I was there with my mentally handicapped sister. She was relatively loud, but when it came to paying, the manager was super rude to her. I then spoke to him and told him that she had disabilities and why he was being so rude to her, and he started to argue and then said, “If she is disabled, she should stay at home and not come here.” He then kicked us out because I got super emotional and continued to discuss how someone could be like that. I was super shocked by the words and stopped arguing because he got louder and said we should fuck off and ran out crying. Luckily my sister didn't understand and notice too much of it... but NEVER AGAIN

To be fair, we have to say that the quality of the breakfast is not taken into account here. For a reason I don't know, breakfast is always tasty and properly prepared. That would give it 5 stars. But during the day it just varies too much for me. Sometimes you get really freshly prepared burgers, other times it is extremely cold as soon as you receive it. In most cases the burger is really just stuck together, the main thing is that everything is on it. It tastes great. Yes, but a little consistency in preparation and freshness of the product would be very good. Service is really the biggest problem. There are people who really do their best. An older gentleman, for example, works there as (I assume) a "shift leader" and tries to somehow orchestrate the chaos, but he doesn't really succeed because none of his colleagues speak German at all. That's not always the case, but most of the time no one there understands him and he has to do the job of 3 people because he doesn't get any help. I think it's good that McDonalds also hires immigrants who are looking for work. But if the German language isn't at least partially mastered, then it can't work. At McDrive there is sometimes a line up to the entrance because the person who was actually assigned has to help out somewhere because another worker doesn't understand what he's supposed to do. Sometimes products are mixed up and orders are mixed up. McDonald's is currently in a bit of a crisis. But what's worst about the "service" can be seen at 10:30 in the morning. There is an extra function for pre-ordering in the app. From 10:00 a.m. you will receive a message telling you to order now to still receive the products. So far so good. But if you order shortly after 10 and set off, and actually show up just a second after 10:29, the trip was in vain. The order is no longer visible to the employees, even though it was confirmed before the end of breakfast time. This is so incredibly stupid that it hurts. Why can't you just pay directly and then come pick up the order after 10:30??? Then it would already be packed and paid for? It just doesn't make any sense and makes me incredibly upset. And well, you can't say much about the ambience. Everything was renovated a few years ago, and once before that. The colorful Mecces has now become the modern fast food flagship. It's not bad per se, but it seems very cold and empty. You should also try somehow to reduce the noise. It gets really loud at times. But otherwise it's definitely acceptable. Conclusion: it's just a McDonalds. Nothing special, just everyday madness. You can go, but you don't have to. Except for breakfast. You really have to go there.

We have always been very disappointed with this branch. Now we gave it another chance, but it was business as usual. Food lukewarm, half missing (today the toy and the entire side dish were missing). Friendliness isn't exactly a priority either. Ordering is even more disastrous. You are lied to that the food is already on the way, so you couldn't cancel after 1.5 hours. It took another 30 minutes before the food arrived - the driver assured us that he had only left 5 minutes before. All in all a complete disaster

Yesterday I had the new M Burger and two Big Macs. Driving from the first window to the second, I couldn't even put my wallet back in my bag in peace...The employee with the bag was already there. I thought I was in the wrong movie. As quickly as that happened. Great sauce on all of them and the new M is definitely my new highlight.

Ich war heute seit langem mal wieder hier. Ich war geschockt...es gab nicht einen Tisch der sauber ist ,quf dem ganzen Fußboden Dreck,Essensreste und Verpackungsmaterial. Im Außenbeleuchtung leider der gleiche Anblick. So mach das Essen wirklich keinen Spaß. Das Personal ist bemüht alles schnell zuzubereiten aber leider fehlt der Rundumblick. Sauberkeit lässt wirklich zu wünschen übrig.

Went to McFlurry again after a long time and were shocked at how dirty it was, food leftovers, dirt and packaging material everywhere on the floor. No table was clean, either full of rubbish from previous guests or not wiped down and full of leftover food. There was no way to wash your hands properly because there was no soap in the toilets either Disinfectant dispensers in the restaurant were empty. There were enough staff present but no one cared about the cleanliness. The storage containers were also overfull. Eating out like this is really no fun.

I have to say things have improved since my last review. Something was always missing from the bags. This is much better now. The bags are complete. The employees work in a more coordinated manner, everyone does what they are supposed to do. The only thing that's really bad is the road up to the traffic lights, the freshly filled drinks tip over if they're not in the cup holder in the car.

You will be told to pull over even though there is a traffic jam. 0 out of 100 points. Got so bad. The ones at the first window are cheeky. Where is the great staff from before? Shame on you and change people completely.

If I say that my food will arrive at 8:50 p.m. then it should be taken care of and not delivered immediately and if I want to explain something to your employee then I expect that he should be able to speak German, not everyone can speak English and they don't have to because We live in Germany, you should expect that the person who delivers your food should at least communicate and understand what the customer is saying

Colleague there with a tipico collar at the drive in counter was absolutely incompetent, I said no tomatoes etc. was simply ignored even though there was nothing going on anyway then there was a little black-haired woman who gave out food that was also absolutely unfriendly, look for a new job and hire sensible people who all have them there Don't want to work and are incapable of it

The food is like any McDonald's, but since the renovation it has become very nice.

Today I was a guest there...actually I don't have to give any stars. It's really a gastronomy experience.. 6 people and 2 in the office, the 6 ladies and gentlemen didn't manage to serve the restaurant and the Mc Drive.. A man went to the toilet with his child and said something to a lady at the counter Notification... It wasn't even passed on.. Guests then said he was just in the toilet with his child.. He came back and guests told him... The little girl said there was still one ice cream missing and the ice cream was given, which was at least stood outside for ten minutes... Another couple had to pack their own food (because they didn't specify take-away when they ordered) and because the lady behind the counter was busy... (her statement) It's a joke, the employees can have their feet kicked as they walk. . Simply without words..

Salzgitter Lebenstedt branch.. The unfriendly team I've ever experienced works here... There's no such thing as a good day when you're cashing out and people don't even look at you... in return they only talk through their headsets... Pure lust looseness... I've never encountered anything like this in any other McDonald's.
