It's incredible how long the drive takes.

The best McDonald's in North Rhine-Westphalia. I find this McDonald's much better than, for example, the ones in Düsseldorf. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The interior is very clean and nicely decorated. The food is typical McDonald's: fresh and clean. I have to say, unfortunately, that the building's exterior is a bit dated, but it doesn't bother me!

Fast food with a half-hour wait is probably not the right term.

We've been waiting for our food for 45 minutes now! That's really unacceptable for a fast-food restaurant.

What a mess! We waited half an hour for our order! The kitchen staff aren't wearing disposable gloves, which is disgusting and unhygienic!!! And they barely even fall asleep while working! And let alone be sober.

The staff used the cracked plate to serve the cake. They said not enough plates 🍽️. Funny 😂. But is okay. Thank you for the great service.

Probably the worst McDonald's in all of Germany. Waiting times of over an hour are not uncommon, and then of course the food is cold and incomplete.

The lady at the drive through has scolded me twice on two different occasions. The first time because she could not hear me and the second time because I did not state that I wanted a curly fries menu. I am actually very surprised as I expect a happy experience when going to McDonalds. ( all this was in German)

Highly recommended at lunchtime, but in the evening, after the managers have left, it's a complete disaster. I waited 15 minutes for two fish and chips, had stomach cramps two hours later, and a bacterial infection the next morning. Anyone who eats there in the evening is playing Russian roulette with their health 🤮🤮🤧🤧🤧

We're currently here. The place isn't clean. The tables are dirty and covered in trash. The service is very slow and can't keep up with the orders. My food was lukewarm to almost cold, and I considered sending the burger back.

A well-run business for many, many years and an integral part of Ratingen-West. You can tell the franchisee is serious about their business and puts in a lot of effort to maintain consistently high standards of quality and cleanliness. They regularly invest in new features and innovations.

I think that after all these years, at least some measures should be taken to bring the store up to date. I find it incomprehensible that NFC, i.e., contactless payment, is still not possible at the kiosk systems. A few years ago, this McDonald's was a pioneer with this concept. Nowadays, however, it's lagging behind.

A 35-minute wait for free hot food is far too slow and has nothing to do with fast food anymore. Slow food... every kebab shop is faster and doesn't have six oil idols sitting around in the kitchen, sad...

The burgers were lukewarm. The toilets were filthy and smelled awful.

Arrogant staff who simply ignore customer requests, and a completely useless ordering machine that only accepts physical cards – even though the display clearly states that mobile payment is possible. Go to the Burger King across the street instead – everything is much better there.

Since I can no longer pay with cash there, the store is dead to me! I'm now a regular at Burger King across the street; they have better deals too. I wonder if every 13-year-old schoolboy has their own credit card. How many more regular customers do you want to lose? Offers like the €3.50 McSpicy aren't available there; they're just ruining their own business!

Well, my order was displayed as being prepared and then it completely disappeared from the screen. I had to wait 20 minutes for a McDonald's flurry.

A run-down branch of the chain, particularly noticeable in the shockingly dirty state of the restrooms, for which a code is required. There is significant room for improvement.

The food was decent, bathrooms were dirty, the tables dirty and it took over 30 minutes to get our food. Highly recommend us the drive through.

So, first of all, I'd like to address the lady who was serving the drink-in service (October 24, 2025 - 12:30 PM) and who cleaned her ears at the counter with the wooden coffee cup pick: It's totally unhygienic to do something like that in the service department. 🤮 Everything else was relatively positive, or rather standard for McDonald's. We ordered our food to our table. Everything arrived complete and the food was warm.

A McDonald's like many other places. The food was brought to the table because it was ordered via the app. The only drawback was that, like in other branches, you had to find a clean table first. The food is the same as everywhere else; it could have just been a little warmer for me. I was there again today. Everything was the same, but there's nothing negative to report about the cleanliness.

You simply receive completely different products than you ordered. And this happens multiple times. Waiting time is over fifteen minutes.

We were there about an hour ago. We ordered the 20-piece nuggets and got the plant-based nuggets. Since my young daughter couldn't tell the difference, and I ate one of them after my meal, we couldn't complain because too many had already been eaten. You spend over €20 on stuff like that, and then this happens. Please hire employees who understand German.

I've been going to this McDonald's regularly for over four years because it's close to my work. I've always been satisfied, but my last visit was truly disappointing. I ordered a McSmart meal and a McFlurry and paid just under €11. The McFlurry wasn't even half full, the Coke Zero was only three-quarters full, and the fries tasted so stale that I almost considered going back during my break, but it wasn't worth the effort. The portion of fries was also very small. What else caught my attention: There were about eight employees working, six female and two male. The male employees, who had very short hair, wore hairnets, as you'd expect in a food-service restaurant. The female employees, on the other hand, mostly had long, sometimes curly hair loose, even though they handled the food in the same way. This strikes me as incomprehensible and unhygienic. In addition, the ATMs and self-order terminals weren't working. The restrooms were in very poor condition, dirty and unkempt, and the floor in the restaurant was also dirty. Especially because I go here so often, I find it a shame that the quality has declined so drastically. If things continue like this, I'll seriously consider whether I'll continue to visit this branch; even my colleagues are now taking a critical view.

I was here on a Saturday evening at 9:15 p.m. (September 27, 2025)! Because the McDrive was too crowded, I parked my car and went into the restaurant. Very friendly staff and a very clean place 👍🏻 P.S. One star less because I found the men's restroom not clean, unfortunately 😞

I don't know what to say anymore. The food is piled on the hot plate like the Leaning Tower of Pisa and then served colder than the North Pole. It takes 30 minutes from ordering to serving, which seems to be a bit like Michelin-starred cuisine. Behind the cash register, she's a complete sleep-deprived person. If you don't have the change, you're asked if you can spare a few cents. Bottomless. The restaurant itself is dirtier than any tiled table. Nothing is cleared away. Never experienced anything so bad.

No, every time you go to eat here or decide to go there, something is wrong. Tables are dirty. Not enough staff. Waiting times are infuriating and when you drive into the drive-in and nothing happens for 30 minutes. No information or anything like that, then you just go to the competition. At least they offer you fresh, warm burgers and the fries haven't died three times already. There were other times too. When everything worked so much better. I just feel sorry for the employees who have to work here, they must get a lot of resentment. The new system that was introduced a few years ago has created so much traffic.

By far the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. There were 10 workers behind the counter, and even after waiting for over half an hour, I still had to approach the workers myself and ask where my order was. One out of 10 workers spoke fluent German, which was clearly reflected in their performance.

The most beautiful and friendly McDrive voice I've ever heard! Someone radiates joie de vivre for free. The food is top-notch as always, and the rest of the team is friendly too, but the McDrive mouse was worth a review from me. ♡ Cheers to you!

Bro, I've never been to a worse MCS than this one. It's always dirty, there are always flies and wasps flying around, long wait times (I once had to wait 20 minutes for a small Fanta), and generally, it's a super-simulation.

I dont like McDonald's and burger king type of food. It is unhealthy... I will give my rating to workers who work hard in poor conditions.

Very slow staff even though there was nothing going on

Today, at drive-thru counter number 2, I experienced extremely inappropriate and disrespectful treatment from an employee wearing black glasses. Due to a severe cold, I could only speak quietly. Instead of showing understanding, the employee addressed me in a condescending tone, saying, literally, "You should learn how to behave." Such condescending and unprofessional behavior is absolutely unacceptable—especially toward customers with health limitations. Friendliness and respect should be a given in customer interactions, even in stressful situations.

Had breakfast on July 30th. Table service: get your own napkins! Disposable cups instead of mugs. Why "eat here"? They asked why they wanted a cup? Because the tea is too hot and the mug is too hot. The answer was "the cup is too hot too," but the cup has a handle, so you can hold it. They can't give you one. McCafé is closed! She turns around and leaves. Laughs loudly at her colleague. Outrageous!

Don't know how to make Big Mac.

Unfortunately, one of the worst MCD experiences. The wait for the food was extremely long. All the numbers for table service at the ordering terminals were in a storage room. The display showing the status of my order briefly showed "in process," then "ready for pickup" for a brief moment. When I went to pick up my order, I was told it was being prepared and I had to wait. This situation happened several times with other customers as well. Very strange; is there perhaps a method to this? What could be the reason for this? A few minutes later, an employee suddenly switched off the display without comment.

Vending machines didn't work properly, system crashed three times. The food looked like it had already been eaten. Happy Meal. Drinks weren't brought because they were sold out. All the toys were empty too. They gave me a lousy bandage as a replacement 😡 no compensation, apology, or anything else. Wait times are now quite long. 27 minutes wait! Guests are allowed to clean the tables themselves before using them. Donald's has reached a new low.

We arrived from the airport today, starving and overtired, and drove to this branch. We were greeted so warmly by a lady at the McDrive-thru, who recommended something to us, all at that time of day (midnight). We had a little small talk. Stay as positive as you are. The food was great! Excellent service! Thank you so much!!!

The McDrive is absolutely incompetent, always! Today: three cheeseburgers, two chicken burgers, a peanut cookie, a fries, two apple turnovers, and a McRib. One cheeseburger was missing, the chicken burgers were chili burgers, and there were no fries at all. What's up with that? Why do you always screw this up and then we pay full price!!! We were there with several other people at 3:45 a.m. and were treated extremely rudely. They tried to throw us out, saying they were off duty and wouldn't be working any longer. This branch must be really full, not to have to sell 20 more meals?!?!? Whatever. You can say that in a reasonable way, even though it's not right.

There is far too little ((can only speak from today)) onion ketchup on the hamburger and far too little remulade on the filet o fish, so both were extremely dry........

Horrible, if you want to eat in the dirt, this is the place for you. Tables dirty, floor sticky. Unfortunately, I sat down on a chair for a moment and my pants were dirty, in other words, filthy. We left immediately and went across the street to Johan and Witmann for Asian food. It was really tasty and cheaper.

Absolute chaos in the evening. After a 30-minute wait, we finally got our money back, even though they were initially told it wasn't possible, even though they were out of the products or had a suitable replacement. The kitchen was unclean, the staff extremely overwhelmed, and some were very rude. The ordering machines were extremely slow or didn't work at all. Contactless payment, as advertised on the machines, didn't work either. Generally, not recommended.

Waiting for food at fast food over 15 minutes is really not great and waiting 30 minutes is even worse while the staff goes around you and see the sign that you are waiting for your order and then even telling you that your order is not there in the system . Food was not so great either, burgers filled with way too much sauce or almost not sauce at all. Really messy stuff. I understand that staff may be overworked but some things you can't excuse.

The restaurant is unkempt beyond belief! The staff are unfriendly, almost rude, and the food is terrible. I would never have thought that an international company that's supposed to be operating at a standardized level could exhibit such huge differences in quality among its employees. I'd rather have a good old sandwich at home. A visit here is absolutely not recommended!

It's about all you can expect from a McDonald's. I went there on a Sunday evening and it was absolutely packed. I can tolerate the loud atmosphere, long waiting times (although ironic for a "fast food" restaurant) but I ordered the vegetarian nuggets which turned out to not be vegetarian at all. This is unacceptable, to put non vegetarian food in a vegetarian food container is one thing, but to let that level of cross-contamination happen makes me worry about what else goes on in the kitchen. Will avoid in the future.

Absolutely disappointing visit to McDonald's in Ratingen on May 18, 2025! I ordered a double Big Mac meal with a Coke Zero because they didn't have Diet Coke. The Big Mac was poorly prepared, there was barely any salad, and the fries were cold. To make matters worse, my Coke Zero wasn't carbonated, and I didn't get the glass I ordered. I'm very dissatisfied and wonder if I'll still get my glass, since I redeemed a coupon. Furthermore, the staff wasn't particularly friendly.

First of all, the drinks had no carbonation. I redeemed a code with a glass and only found out later that they were out. The sour cream sauce had no flavor, and the things that came with the order took forever.

Sunday lunch at McRatingen: The machine didn't print the order, there were no glasses for the McSmart, no Coke Zero, trash was overflowing from two shelves above, tables and benches weren't wiped, the lids on the reusable cups weren't clean inside, Fanta was warm, the food was cold, the employees barely understood German, and only after complaining did we get free dessert...

Unfortunately, I didn't receive everything in my takeout order. I find it very sad that the employees don't check what's being packed. Edit on May 17, 2025 Ordered 2 meals with McDonald's glasses and received 0 glasses.

It used to be better. It would also be nice if they opened earlier. That way, you could pick up something after the night shift or before the morning shift.

Disaster, by far the worst McDonald of all time. Machines don't work and the staff, although they know it, don't care, are unfriendly, completely chaotic, and eat lukewarm. Dirty, waste bins above and in front of the door, you are bothered when going in and out. Total failure.

Today we ordered a McFlurry and a McSundae and in both cases we received portions that were a third of the McDonald's standard in size. My reference to the image in the menu was dismissed as advertising. Ultimately, both ice cream sundaes were refilled a little after the complaint, but they were still far from McDonald's standards.
