I waited over six minutes at the McDrive order kiosk. We were told it would be just a moment at the beginning, and then there was radio silence. After six minutes, I pulled out, and there was only one car at the front. The employee shook her head and smiled, saying, "Well, that's why I didn't call out, because it was full," even though there was only one car and it wasn't even waiting in the bay. It seems like the waiting areas aren't being used anymore. It looked more like they were short-staffed. "Just a moment" and then no information is unacceptable. When I pointed out that "a moment" is different from waiting that long without having ordered, the answer was, "Yes, that's how it is." Don't be surprised why people prefer to go to the kebab shop across the street.

They repeatedly tried to tell me that ordering was only possible at the terminal. Why, and especially what for? There was nothing going on in the store, which doesn't justify such behavior to the customer... Remember, you live off our money, not yours...

This place is absolutely terrible. At the drive-thru, it starts with a 5-minute wait for a small order because the attendant doesn't understand what you want. When I pick it up, they repeat what I ordered, which was actually correct. I was surprised, but my joy was premature; it wasn't what I ordered. This place is absolutely awful.

We waited over 30 minutes for an ice cream and a cheeseburger, and when we asked, the only answer we got was: I can't say how long it will take.

We went to the McDonald's drive-thru today. The employee taking our orders was incredibly rude and aggressive. It was unbelievably unpleasant. I'm in a terrible mood; I have no desire to ever visit that restaurant again.

After a long wait, I drove to the counter and was told I hadn't stopped at the terminal and was subsequently ignored.

I bought one coffee. And the lid of the coffee had a smell of lard. It was extremely strong. Absolutely do not go. It was disgusting coffee. I threw it in the trash.

A chicken burger with hair in it, plus a parking ticket for not parking as a customer. Never again at this McDonald's.

The best thing would be to shut this place down. Such conditions should not exist in a German restaurant. It's filthy everywhere (and it hasn't been there recently), employees didn't wash their hands after using the customer restroom, and the parking lot is an absolute disgrace. This is the first McDonald's parking lot where you have to display a parking disc and then pay a €48 penalty for not displaying one? Why else would I park there to go for a walk? We weren't the only ones who got a ticket; almost everyone in the parking lot received one. This included visitors from outside Oberhausen as well as local residents. That's one way to maximize profits. I must commend the staff, though; they were very friendly. One thing is clear: this McDonald's will definitely be avoided in the future.

Things seem to have gone downhill fast. The staff was completely overwhelmed, the burgers looked like someone had sat on them two or three times, the fries were soggy and some were still raw, and the restaurant was filthy.

Unbelievable. Visited on November 14, 2025, around 10 PM. All the staff were unfriendly. No napkins. No tray. Ordered via app with table service: nothing arrived, the employee just called out the number. The entire branch was filthy. I will definitely avoid this branch!

It's an absolute disaster there. The waiting times are far too long, no matter when you go. No help was offered when the machine malfunctioned during the payment process. Money was taken, but I didn't receive my order because it wasn't transmitted. The staff were unfriendly and wanted me to pay again to receive the goods. Never again in that store.

This is the third time we've found a short black hair in our food/drink. It looks like an arm hair or beard hair. Absolutely disgusting, and on top of that, the tables were dirty.

I've rarely seen such a dirty place. You hardly dared to sit down. The toilets were also filthy and the soap dispensers were empty. Furthermore, there was a long wait for the food despite very few customers, and everyone only had small orders. We certainly won't be going there again.

Incredibly rude! Customer service = 0. I ordered plant nuggets and received regular nuggets. Sure, that can happen when they're busy. I went back and asked for plant nuggets, as I had ordered. The guy went to the back, put some nuggets in a bowl, and told me they were now plant nuggets. Since I didn't really believe him, because he already seemed super annoyed by my question, I just tore them open and they were chicken nuggets again – plant nuggets obviously don't have fibers… truly unacceptable.

I've never seen such a filthy McDonald's. Inside and out, there was trash and old food scraps on the floor. The bench was smeared, the table was greasy, and the floor was sticky and filthy. As for the food, well, that's just how it is. Everyone knows McDonald's.

No one came to clean the tables in 30 minutes. You don't have any expectations of men's restrooms, but the men's restroom here is the dirtiest I've ever seen...

Oh... Not exactly a success today. A huge box for three small mini-Berliners that could easily have fit into a 9-pack Nugget box. On top of that, we were simply forgotten at the drive-thru counter.

Saturday restaurant open until 3:00 a.m.... 1:46 a.m. restaurant closed, no idea when... Google says it's open... This is misleading customers. Not cool.

The wait for your food is quite long. All the tray carts are overflowing.

On October 5, 2025, we got a hamburger, fries, and a McRipp to take away. We've never had such a bad meal there before: the hamburger was dry, there was no ketchup on it, it was completely dry. The fries weren't cooked through and weren't salted. The McRipp was inedible; it felt like it was a few days old. We didn't feel well after eating it either; I've never experienced that before there; it was the last time for us...!

No matter when you come here, the second floor is always closed. Even when all the seats on the ground floor were taken, I asked for access to the second floor because I couldn't find a seat with my young children. However, I was told, "You can take a table outside," even though it was October and cold outside. So I had to wait inside for a free table. In addition, the staff works very slowly and is completely unresponsive, even if you've been standing at the cash register for five minutes—no one pays any attention. It seems like they're simply unwilling to invest their time and go up to the second floor to work.

Unfortunately, the service is terrible. Complaints aren't possible via the app, and no one can be reached by phone either. It's better to cook at home; it's cheaper and healthier.

Very very slow service, wrong order on top

The McDonald's at the Turbine Hall is probably the worst. The second counter has been jammed with drink cartons for months, and the employee at the counter was unresponsive... Then they charged for fries but they weren't wrapped. The spicy McDonald's was included, but when they got home, it turned out to be empty... it was just the dried-out chicken patty and the bread... how could you forget everything, and it was rancid, too? Simply outrageous!!! Never again at the McDonald's at the Turbine Hall... and there will definitely be more complaints! We were at the McDonald's drive-thru at 7:45 p.m.

I visited the Turbine Hall again. Before the concert, I went to the aforementioned McDonald's. The food was good, but the cleanliness was abysmal. The tray cart next to the ordering terminal was completely overflowing, and Coke had been spilled on the floor in front of it. I ate at the bar table as usual. My gaze fell on the wall directly next to the table; someone had "artistically" immortalized themselves there with a slice of cucumber and ketchup. That had apparently been a while ago.

Unfortunately, it was a very negative experience. We received the wrong order twice. They also had the worst McRibs ever: dry and not at all like a McRib, with barely any sauce on them. We felt very ill after eating, and unfortunately, this lasted for a few hours. Unfortunately, it was also extremely dirty; we had to cover the table with napkins just to be able to eat.

I was there on a Saturday morning. Briefly, I wondered if I was a ghost—because I was standing alone at the counter and was ignored for minutes. What I found much worse, however, was the uncleanliness. It was early in the morning, not busy, and the floors were filthy, and it wasn't any better under the machines. I won't be going there again. Ugh.

Dirty and chronically understaffed

The food is regularly cold and the store is always dirty. On top of that, they recently started private parking surveillance, which charges !!!€48!!! for parking without a parking disc. That's just outrageous. @McDonalds-Central - that's not how you endear yourself to customers.

I was at McDonald's today and was sadly disappointed: The Big Tasty only had three half-strips of bacon and didn't taste good, the wrap had hardly any sauce and was therefore very dry, the McFlurry wasn't even half full, and the fries were cold. I expected significantly better quality for the money.

The restroom door won't lock, a fundamental problem that's obviously been ignored here for a while. Instead of checking on-site conditions, the management or the boss seems to prefer to get lost in some numbers and systems rather than taking responsibility for their own restaurant. Please have a repair service come over and stop getting lost in the bottom line. PS: The staff were impeccable and the food was good.

As compensation, they offered to replace the missing items for free on my next visit. Yes, thank you very much, but what am I supposed to do with mayo, sweet and sour sauce, and especially the McRib sauce (alone??)? Such incidents have unfortunately become a habit, so that's it for me.

Update: The management apologized and offered us something free, thank you very much. Before: It was barely busy, and we waited over half an hour for our food. I was there last night. The value for money at McDonald's is generally mediocre these days. However, you should be able to expect clean tables and functioning restrooms. In the men's section, both of the stand-up basins were broken, and the soap dispenser was empty or also broken. The restroom was generally very dirty. The food took almost half an hour for some of my group to arrive, and some of it was even delivered incorrectly. The staff seemed rather annoyed when I complained. It's a shame – the restaurant was much better a few years ago.

The worst McDonald's I've ever been to. There was hair in a burger and a coffee. The waitress seemed to be on mind-altering substances. There was ash and dirt on the benches and tables. Both squat toilets were broken, and the only sit-down toilet was full of feces. The fact that there was no soap didn't help the situation. The patties were very large, but they didn't taste good at all. The women's restrooms apparently weren't any better, so we switched to the accessible restroom. P.S. At least we got a replacement for the burger and the coffee with the hair in it. Despite the residual alcohol after Parookaville, this wasn't a pleasant experience, and we'll be heading to a different McDonald's next year. You'll have to decide for yourself.

I've never experienced a McDonald's like this before. If one could give zero stars, that would be even more appropriate. Completely intrusive, far too loud music when you walk in. You wait ages for your breakfast order, only to get a croissant for the kids that's so tough it looks like it's from the day before yesterday. There are no cutlery for spreading Nutella. The staff are completely unfriendly and incompetent. When asked for a high chair, they just stare incomprehensibly. Saturday morning, 4:00 a.m. Very busy because of the disco, but the McDrive still waited 40 minutes from "just a moment please" until all the vehicles had backed out. This has happened often and is unacceptable.

The food is just standard fare. I thought it was a shame that the apples weren't available for children. I also think it would be great if the tables and chairs were wiped down more often. Otherwise, the branch is fine. Nice and small.

I travel a lot and have seen some good and bad McDonald's restaurants. But this McDonald's restaurant today tops everything I've seen so far. It starts outside in the parking lot, which is unfortunately completely littered. It's not a pretty sight and shouldn't look that way. Unfortunately, it wasn't particularly tidy inside either. The trays were piled high with trash, and the tables were very dirty. I ordered a fish burger, and my companion ordered a Happy Meal. The hamburger in the Happy Meal was the saddest, flattest, and poorly made burger I've ever seen. My fish burger was extremely dry and hard, as if it had been reheated before. The fish burger came back to me for a total of two hours before my body took pity and threw it up. After that, I felt much better. I really enjoy eating a fish burger, but I think today was the last time. I can't imagine McDonald's would want such poor standards and such poor quality of products and environment. Dear manager, there's still a lot of room for improvement, and I simply hope you retrain your kitchen and service staff. Otherwise, sooner or later, you'll lose customers.

The drinks were almost just water; you couldn't really taste the other ingredients. The crispy chicken wasn't crispy and the chicken was very soft. The cheeseburger was very inedible. So here it was a disgrace. First we had to wait 20 minutes at the counter until we were cashed in. On April 28th I went to McDonald's at 9:15 a.m. and had an unacceptable experience. The toilets were in an unacceptable condition: the toilet seat was completely dirty, there was paper and dirt on the floor. The restaurant area was equally unkempt - the floor was sticky, tables were dirty and the overall impression was extremely dirty and disgusting. In addition, there was completely inappropriate behavior from one of the employees: he followed us to the toilet and sent my partner out. It would have been completely sufficient if he had waited outside the door. This behavior was invasive, disrespectful and completely out of place. As if that wasn't enough, it took all of 25 minutes for us to receive our order. There can be no talk of “fast food” here. Such a poor experience - both in terms of cleanliness, service and waiting time - is simply shameful and will have consequences for my future restaurant choices.

What actually happened here? I'm not from here, but because of the locations in the area you always end up here and have known the branch for many years. You order at the self-service counter and wait for ages. You can safely leave out the screen that says it's being prepared/ready for collection, it will print everything as ready pretty quickly anyway, even if you can wait another 5 minutes+. If it takes too long you should listen. Recently a receipt was obviously lost because it was only "found" when asked. But no reason to lie to the customer and say it will take a moment. In total it was almost a quarter of an hour. The store now seems constantly dirty, but you can't see anyone in the store because the employees behind the counter are already overwhelmed. The seating area upstairs is almost always closed, even if the shop downstairs is full. You can generally pick it up yourself, because if you choose table service, no one here will care. The signs at the self-service counters are always missing and if you choose service anyway, you will notice later when the people at the counter call your number through the store (it will have long since disappeared from the screen)... And now there are errors in orders. Sometimes the products are not the way you know them or you simply have different drinks (e.g. I order a Diet Coke and get an iced tea). At least the food is always hot since everything seems to come fresh from the kitchen. I hope that things will change for the better here in the future, because that's how it normally is and you wouldn't drive there again...

Worst McDonald's I've ever been to. You order via the app, enter the table number and the staff stands with four people behind the counter, doesn't move an inch and just shouts the table number so that you should pick it up yourself.
