We popped in quickly after a concert at night. 2 burgers, 1 meal – we left with hot food in 6 minutes 👍 Plenty of staff, quick preparation... not what you'd expect from chains like this anymore. The staff can't be blamed for the rather awful taste. It was just a stopgap solution for the subsequent train ride home.

Terrible, wait for order 40 min. Everything was brought cold, ice cream melted

And fell for it again, ordered takeaway. The burger was cold, one burger had a hair on it 🤮 and one of the fries was missing. I had already sent an email about my last visit because they advertised it on a poster... but not even a reply or an apology. This is really the last time I'll be there, the place is truly terrible.

The store is simply filthy. The employees barely speak or understand German. Unfriendly. There's always something missing from an order. Too many negative points to list.

One star is definitely too many for what I experienced there today. We waited 20 minutes for our to-go order before we asked why people were getting food before us. The order must have just been lost. I'm not surprised, given what goes on behind the counter. Absolute chaos. It really has nothing to do with work and organization. While friends of the employees are probably just walking through the kitchen in their normal clothes, with backpacks, etc., to be greeted, we asked when our order would be ready. When we asked the kitchen staff about our plant-based nuggets, which weren't actually plant-based nuggets, they replied, "Just give them out like that." To our delight, they even opened the package, took out a nugget, tore it open to check, and then simply put it back in the package. So, apart from "I'll just give them some meat," hygiene is also very important here. Incidentally, all of this happened right in front of our eyes at the counter. An absolute joke, really. We canceled our order. Thanks, McDonald's, that's the last you've seen of us (the other customers waiting were also very impressed, by the way).

I'll NEVER be back! Fries were wobbly, burgers were cold, nuggets were wrong, and management was incompetent. The worst part was that when we complained about the nuggets being wrong, the now-cold nuggets were simply put back in the display for another customer to have. On top of that, I had a lot of ice cubes in my Coke, which I didn't order. When I argued that I couldn't drink it because my teeth hurt when I drank it, I was just given a stupid look and told that straws are only available for milkshakes. Zero service and unhygienic!! No, I can't recommend it with the best will in the world. We ordered takeout today on August 1st at 6:35 p.m. We paid for our order and waited. At 7 p.m. I asked where our order was. (Many people ordered after us and already got something.) Oh, something went wrong. Then the boss asked his employee if he had made plantain chicken nuggets and pointed to a package. He told him I don't know, just give it to them. It's like, "Meat or not doesn't matter." I'm sorry, but it doesn't work like that. Sad, that's how it is. The boss was very friendly and he felt sorry for me, so I'm taking him out. The rest of the team at that time of day was completely forgettable. Everyone was just chatting and working, it wasn't their thing. But everyone was clearly having a great time. Never again in this branch. Nobody cares about hygiene here. Not good advertising for the store, which should already be concerned about its reputation. I ended up getting my money back and writing this review. What just happened there was absolutely disgusting. Sad. For all vegetarians, stay well away from this store. They also sell meat nuggets, as vegetarian nuggets.

Please take a look at the ice cream. They only used one spoon – and that's supposed to be worth €2? The cup was obviously only half full. Unfortunately, the cashier showed no understanding. The ice cream also tastes more like a shake; an employee probably mixed up the ingredients. What a shame, I'll never go back to this store!

Barely new staff, and already you have problems every time you order. Two days ago, you received the wrong burger when ordering, even though you proved you'd ordered something different. Then the employee grabbed the burgers with her dirty fingers to check if they were fake. Then she repacked them and gave them back to us with the missing burgers (they ordered incorrectly), which wasn't the case. It was disgusting enough. Today, two burgers were missing, which I paid for, and they said we took them out to have more. Sorry, but this has become a real shitty place. Staff just standing in the wrong place.

We're currently here with a youth group of over 30 people. Everyone ordered a set menu. We've never been served so friendly and quickly. Everyone had their food within 10 minutes, including ordering. Very well organized.

The takeaway food was completely cold when we arrived home – after a 500-meter walk. The service was abysmal – except for a young man who asked after about 25 minutes what we were waiting for... I absolutely don't recommend this location because they always forget something. When ordering, you specify that the burgers should be without pickles, and they come with them in every other order 🙈🤮🙈. Additionally, they forget the three sauces with every order of 20 nuggets.

Ordered McCrispy curry, got normal McCrispy with honey mustard sauce. Nobody here likes this honey mustard sauce and the whole burger is drenched in it. This happens all the time with various products. You just can't order properly there.

I have been to this branch several times with colleagues You always wait at least 20 minutes or more for your order. The staff is completely overwhelmed. I think I will avoid this branch in the future. Of course I don't expect the food to be there within 5 minutes, but you can tell from the people that they all have to wait a long time. The slowest McDonald's in Germany. It's never taken so long to place an order. 2 cars in front of me on Mc Drive and then waited 10 minutes. After ordering, another 10 minutes passed until someone brought the order out.

Ordered a McRib with extra onions on 10/9/24. When I got home I discovered that the McRib didn't contain any onions.

The food is just McDonald's standard. But the cleanliness of the places, especially on weekends, is lousy. The toilets are also not hygienic. We recommend ordering food at the drive-thru and then enjoying it at home.

Phew, that was dirty yesterday (September 22nd, 2024, 2:45 p.m.-3:10 p.m.). All the tables that were free had probably not been wiped down for hours, and there were tablets with leftover food that had not been cleared away everywhere. The same applies to the outdoor area. Garbage everywhere, full trash cans and an overall unkempt outdoor area. The table service also took a long time and then we forgot 4 pieces of product! In general, there was a lot of staff there, but half of them seemed extremely unmotivated. This branch in Gelsenkirchen would be really embarrassing for me as a franchisor.

Incompetent and unfriendly staff and the so-called shift manager is a bad joke. Apparently there is a new system for ordering with coupons, which the clerk at MC Drive couldn't explain to me properly. When paying, I pointed out that everything was booked normally instead of using coupons. Pre-ordered via app on the way back - ready immediately upon arrival, with GPS and everything... well, nice thought, in the end we would have been quicker if we had just driven there and gone in. It felt like we had to wait longer than those who ordered at the counter behind us. In any case, we waited easily for 20-30 minutes and, as usual, we saw one car after another leaving the MC Drive with food. Even the cars that had to wait behind us had their food in front of us and we had a small child with us. And a few nuggets and a burger are certainly nothing out of the ordinary there, you might think. A joke.

Although there weren't many hungry customers there and ordering, it easily took 30 minutes for our order to be served to us by table service. We had already noticed the incompetence of the service staff: For some individuals, being able to read the table/order numbers proved to be an almost impossible challenge. In my opinion - and considering the fact that there were only a few customers there - the staff's statement that they were busy at the moment and therefore stressful was just a lazy excuse. The cleanliness of this establishment also leaves a lot to be desired. We thoroughly cleaned the dining table with disinfectant before we sat down. The cleaning staff are probably just as well trained as the service staff. As the person responsible, I have to ensure that my employees internalize the branch concept and meet (legal) standards. They also need to be trained in dealing with customers. Which brings me to another point: We were served the wrong burger. Since we were very hungry, we only realized this after biting into this burger. We pointed this out to the staff (mistakes happen to everyone, it's not a problem at all!) and we were immediately told that we would get the burger we ordered. The next moment, however, the branch manager said in a very impertinent and insolent manner that this was not possible because the burger had already been eaten. While this is true, we immediately complained after realizing it was the wrong burger. Mistakes can happen, that's not the point. The point is, that's not how you treat customers. As a person in charge or an employee, you don't have to be rude to the customer. And if you, as a branch manager, are not up to the responsibility of managing a branch or dealing appropriately with customers, then you should perhaps look for another job. To be fair: the food was okay - apart from cold fries. For me it was the last time I entered this restaurant. Truly the worst McDonald's. In my opinion, the only thing left to clarify is whether it's because of McDonald's itself or because of the fact that this branch is in Gelsenkirchen (and no, I'm not from Dortmund).

The burgers were hot, fries were crispy and well salted, free WiFi. Unfortunately, the toilets are an imposition. I always wonder if other people haven't learned how to go to the toilet properly.

Abandoned food stood and lay scattered on the neighboring table and around it, with pigeons and wasps fighting over it. After 30 minutes I pointed out to an employee that it could be put away. He just shrugged and replied "No staff." It was the worst McDonald's visit of my life... P.S. The following observations were made: The return trolley was also completely overcrowded, so that no tray could be put back. We placed it neatly on the neighboring table next to the car. On the terrace there were uncleared trays on several tables and seats were dirty. The McDonald's feedback system advertised on the receipt did not work. Of 4 order displays, 2 were defective.
