Although there weren't many hungry customers there and ordering, it easily took 30 minutes for our order to be served to us by table service. We had already noticed the incompetence of the service staff: For some individuals, being able to read the table/order numbers proved to be an almost impossible challenge. In my opinion - and considering the fact that there were only a few customers there - the staff's statement that they were busy at the moment and therefore stressful was just a lazy excuse. The cleanliness of this establishment also leaves a lot to be desired. We thoroughly cleaned the dining table with disinfectant before we sat down. The cleaning staff are probably just as well trained as the service staff. As the person responsible, I have to ensure that my employees internalize the branch concept and meet (legal) standards. They also need to be trained in dealing with customers. Which brings me to another point: We were served the wrong burger. Since we were very hungry, we only realized this after biting into this burger. We pointed this out to the staff (mistakes happen to everyone, it's not a problem at all!) and we were immediately told that we would get the burger we ordered. The next moment, however, the branch manager said in a very impertinent and insolent manner that this was not possible because the burger had already been eaten. While this is true, we immediately complained after realizing it was the wrong burger. Mistakes can happen, that's not the point. The point is, that's not how you treat customers. As a person in charge or an employee, you don't have to be rude to the customer. And if you, as a branch manager, are not up to the responsibility of managing a branch or dealing appropriately with customers, then you should perhaps look for another job. To be fair: the food was okay - apart from cold fries. For me it was the last time I entered this restaurant. Truly the worst McDonald's. In my opinion, the only thing left to clarify is whether it's because of McDonald's itself or because of the fact that this branch is in Gelsenkirchen (and no, I'm not from Dortmund).

If you order Mac Smart Menu Chicken then you simply get two beef burgers, thank you McDonald’s

The burgers were hot, fries were crispy and well salted, free WiFi. Unfortunately, the toilets are an imposition. I always wonder if other people haven't learned how to go to the toilet properly.

The restaurant wasn't full. It took the staff 15 minutes to order 1 Smart Menu and my companion waited 17 minutes. The burgers were lukewarm at best. Abandoned food stood and lay scattered on the neighboring table and around it, with pigeons and wasps fighting over it. After 30 minutes I pointed out to an employee that it could be put away. He just shrugged and replied "No staff." It was the worst McDonald's visit of my life... P.S. The following observations were made: The return trolley was also completely overcrowded, so that no tray could be put back. We placed it neatly on the neighboring table next to the car. On the terrace there were uncleared trays on several tables and seats were dirty. The McDonald's feedback system advertised on the receipt did not work. Of 4 order displays, 2 were defective. Overall, apart from the genuine friendliness of the staff at the ordering counter, everything was negative. I didn't dare go to the toilet... The operator should urgently increase or train his staff. If an inspection had come today...

Ordered online, picked up in the drive. Order checked. Everything that could have been wrong was wrong. Things are only luke warm anyway. Turned around, complained about the order at the counter, the employee accepted the food in annoyance, then gave out the cold burgers from before after waiting. Another request to please make the food hot and sensibly hot. Arrived home after 3 minutes. Food cold.

Been there several times now at different times and days. Unfriendly employees who can't cope with complaints...food is served/packaged cold and things tend to be forgotten...cleanliness isn't that important either...rarely have I had such a bad experience at McDonalds, unfortunately there several times every time!

After a wait of 36 minutes, we were served cold fries and the worst Big Tasty bacon I've ever eaten with an annoyed expression on our faces. I then got the missing nuggets myself. Not recommendable!!!

I think it's the worst McDonald's I've ever been to in terms of service. And if it hadn't been for the only nice female waitress there wouldn't have been any stars!

I would happily give negative stars if I could. You pay over 20 euros for 2 burgers and 2 ice creams, only to then wait 25 minutes to sit down at a really run-down, dirty table and get the wrong burger. If you want to replace the burger, you have to wait another 15 minutes because you will simply be “forgotten”. The ingredients of the burger are then just thrown into the packaging, so you still have to make your own burger. The ice had melted. Meanwhile, an employee is trying to clean something up because all the tables were full of dirty trays because the tray carts were full. He throws over a cup of cola and smears it, causing several customers to almost slip.

After being disappointed several times at the branch on Grothusstrasse, I thought today I would give this branch a chance... and what can I say, the branch on Grothusstrasse is not as bad as I thought. At the branch in Ückendorf, a lack of work organization and/or motivation come together. You can convince yourself of this fact while you wait a good 30 minutes for your food. The floor and the tables are super dirty. When you finally receive the burger, you realize that despite the long wait, the order is wrong. When you then open the burger you realize that the burger is a construction kit that you can still put together yourself. All in all, based on current experience, not recommended.

Unfortunately, McSundea was a joke... every scoop of ice cream from the gelateria is bigger and cheaper. 1.99 and the cup was only a third full.

I let myself be persuaded and went to McD (now in GE) again after more than 10 years and was shocked by the slow and listless service, long waiting times despite terminal orders, lukewarm food and dirty toilets, Only the lady at the car counter seemed to have everything under control, but unfortunately she was there on foot.

So speechless my girlfriend told me a few days ago that she had a hard time in her food. After 2 days I wanted to eat something. I opened my burger. I found this hard food in there. I found it really disgusting. And their solution is we'll make a new one instead of putting a hood over the men's and women's heads, which is really disgusting.

You wait 30 minutes for your food, no matter what you order. Employees unfriendly to death, if you don't like the job then quit!!

Probably more like slow food. Restaurant is empty, weekdays 9.30am. Still, you wait 20 minutes for a simple breakfast order with no extras. It doesn't work at all. If I hadn't already paid I would have gone again!

The food we ordered was lukewarm. The burgers are not as shown in the pictures, but also as described. The chicken burger was supposed to be topped with lettuce, but there were only strips of lettuce. The cheeseburger was supposed to have onions, none there, but I was able to find a small slice of cucumber. The meat was dry. The fries weren't crispy. McDonalds was once there, but never again for me!

My experience at McDonald's on June 12, 2023 at 12:38 am was extremely disappointing. We paid with a card at the kiosk and an employee told us that they no longer had any cheesecake in stock. She offered us something else instead. Of course we insisted on getting our money back as that is only fair and the staff should be trained on this. But the employee claimed that it was not possible to refund the money. We were confused and explained that they don't have the product we paid for in stock. Of course we would then like our money back. The employee then became rude and argued that we had ordered the product as part of a menu. We pointed out that you can cancel the menu and charge for the coffee separately. With a bad mood and grimaces, she finally paid us back the money. Meanwhile, a presumably newbie from the back said they don't have any oat milk. The employee who paid us back the money and already seemed annoyed also shouted back angrily: "There's oat milk, take a closer look!" She was very aggressive towards her colleague throughout the entire incident, only insulting him with words like "shut up." I don't want to comment further on coffee. In a shop like this I pay a lot of money to just switch off and drink a coffee in peace. But instead I encounter problems like this. There's nothing new here. The employees are largely untrained and act emotionally. Nobody seems to care that customers pay for their pleasure here. Shortly before the store closes, the tables are usually full of dirt. Probably no employee cares about cleanliness. It is disappointing that such incidents are not uncommon at McDonald's in Gelsenkirchen.

It's okay clean but there are a few things that could be improved. Food is okay (it's McDonald's). Service is often nice and fast but a few times it's not really the best, but it's still not the worst.

Got burger without sauce thanks for nothing

One star is already too many. I was there today for the first and last time. Among other things, today at 6:01 p.m. I ordered an MC Crispy Coleslaw without honey mustard sauce with 6 nuggets and large side dishes for 12.99 using a coupon. A short time later a normal MC Crispy was brought in, which my partner immediately complained to the manager of the branch. It was replied very snappily that they would bring us a new burger. After waiting in vain for half an hour for the new burger, we left the restaurant. I've never experienced anything so rude, slow and stupid at McDonald's. I've now basically spent 13 euros on 6 nuggets, a portion of fries and a watery Fanta and never received my burger. There wasn't even much going on. The store was also very dirty. Garbage was flying everywhere. Never again MC Donalds in Gelsenkirchen ☹️🙄

This branch can't call itself a fast-food restaurant - I don't know anything else - you wait so long in the drive-in that you're almost hungry. You could have gone to another branch until the food arrived. I've been here several times now and always the same problem. Absolutely not possible. If you want it quick, go somewhere else...

Worst McDonald's there is in North Rhine-Westphalia. Employees are rude and the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired and the food was cold

The wait for the order was long. When the hamburger and potatoes arrived, they were cold, plus the bun inside was burnt. We took it back and asked “what is this?” , there was no reaction to this. He looked at us and did not understand what we wanted from him.... in the end he gave us another hamburger. The toilets are dirty and there is no toilet paper. I hope that management will pay attention to the working staff. The tables in the hall were not wiped down after visitors.

Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and my son was totally fascinated by the "Magic Floor". My little one had a lot of fun and that was important to me! The Happy Meal with the plant nuggets was also great, but I wouldn't recommend the plant burger.

Actually a McDonald's like many others. Well furnished, food good. However, quite inflexible or inexperienced staff (example: order for approx. 70, - placed on the screen and already paid for (6 menus). The only Sprite ordered was not possible this time - machine empty or defective (?). When asked which replacement drink we would like, came from us Apple spritzer: But it doesn't work, because of the deposit. Okay, we wanted to pay the 25 cents extra in cash: It doesn't work, too complicated, because of IT (?). Well, even if it's a fast food restaurant and "Since IT is available", I would have liked a little more flexibility here...

Staff should perhaps read the hygiene regulations when preparing the burgers, they would feel like puking.

0:40 Fanta & Sprite cannot be selected at the order terminal. That in itself isn't a huge problem, although it's surprising that they don't have the logistics under control. However, if you ask, you will be dealt with in an unfriendly manner.

Forgot all the sauces. A total of 6 sauces, how can you forget something like that

Die Mitarbeiter sind überfordert. Jedes mal muss ich meine Bestellung kontrollieren und jedes mal ist was falsch oder fehlt. Ausserdem ist es Vorort zu gewissen Zeiten so laut und voll (schreiende Kinder vorallem gegen die nichts gesagt wird ?) Da geh ich lieber beim König essen.

Standard mcces halt. Doch haben mir heute den Abend versaut.... Wollte 2x Schoko Shake 2x Vanille und bekomme 3x Vanille und 1 x Schoko und dafür dann noch 22€

Der langsamste McD den ich je erlebt habe. Vor mir sind andere Autos schon aus dem Drive wieder raus gefahren. Locker 10 Minuten, bis die Bestellung aufgenommen wurde

Wir waren Sonntags morgens dort und es war sauber, ruhig und alle waren freundlich. Gerne wieder.

Mal eben 3 Kaffee,1 Apfeltasche und 2 Kekse holen ...15(!) Minuten Wartezeit. Schlecht bei Termindruck.

Man kriegt immer was man bestellt, leider oftmals sehr überrant, was nicht unbedingt negativ ist.

Es ist nur am "Automaten" möglich sich einen Kaffee zu bestellen obwohl ein mc Café vorhanden ist. Ich finde es Unmöglich und habe dann auf den Cafe verzichtet.

Ein MC Donalds bei dem man vor der Tür sein Elektro-Auto laden kann. Super!

An Tagen wo viel los ist ist die Managerin und Ihr Team maßlos überfordert

Ich werde hier am Standort wickingstr nicht mehr besuchen . Toiletten total unhygienisch. Tische werden nicht abgewischt Personal total unfreundlich und auf die Bestellung wartet man zwischen 15 20 min aufwärts das ist keine schnell Restaurant Qualität mehr . Das Essen sowie der Service haben deutlich nachgelassen und beschwert man sich wird man noch patzig angeschriehen. Nie wieder dieser Standort!!!!!!

Von Bestellung (je 1x BigMac, TS, Filet-o-fish, mittlere Pommes) bis zur Ausgabe im Drive In hat es geschlagene 1 Std und 20 Minuten gedauert, obwohl das Lokal innen kaum besetzt war. Essen war letztendlich fast kalt, folglich geschmacklich wirklich kaum noch essbar. Geruch hatte etwas von ranzigem Öl. Folglich habe ich meine Portion entsorgt. Ich werde das Restaurant in Zukunft meiden.

MAC Drive geht flott innen drin zeitlich flopp...

Wie immer McDonald’s. Wir haben am Terminal bestellt und alles bekommen. Der einzige Wermutstropfen ist die dauernde kaputte Eismaschine 🤷🏽‍♂️

Mc Drive leider wie immer in letzter Zeit überfüllt und mit langer Wartezeit bei der Essensausgabe. Personal empfinde ich als nett. Bestellung vollzählig

Bestellungen werden zügig ausgeführt, Anfang' s gab es noch Schwierigkeiten mit den Bestellungen in der App - diese gehören mittlerweile auch der Vergangenheit an. Mitarbeiter bleiben trotz Stress immer freundlich. Ich bin auf jeden Fall immer nett behandelt worden.

Essen Bedienung war gut aber die Toiletten Immer das gleiche so ein Uringestank nicht aus zuhalten
