McDonald's in Köln

They listed the ingredients of our food incorrectly. The cashier gave us the wrong change. The food was a little cold, even though it was a very crowded place. Stay away.

The worst McDonald's! The employees are very slow. It's a big mess.

Breakfast wrap was half empty. Was brought the wrong Tea. Asked for Milk and they gave me coffee creamer. Smooth pulpless orange juice had bits in it......... . Asked for icing with pancake bites, got nothing. Customer service was poor. Didn't even get up to replace orange juice because it was so hard already getting the correct tea.

Closing 9pm, got kicked out 8:30 because they already cleaned everything, and I was forced out for trying to order basic meal

The price list is perfect :) The merchandise collection and sale includes large and small items like coffee, desserts, and more. The small gift cards are marked, and a reference to a cute little item is added to the list. Not to mention the good selection of toys in the Happy Meal; some great models for the collection often appear there.

I was with my family there on 30.08. We have ordered paar menus. It was very fast service and very nice and frendly stuff esspecially one blondy lady who was in the lobby and was givin chockolate bonbons to the guestes. I like it and i will go there again

I go there once a week to eat or drink coffee. The lady at the cash register is very nice and always helpful. Unfortunately I don't know her name. I think she's from India.

I recently visited McDonald's and ordered some food, and I must say I was very satisfied with the entire experience. The service was excellent, and the team working there was extremely friendly, polite, and professional. Although the restaurant was quite busy and full of guests, everyone on the staff was working quickly and efficiently, always with a smile. What impressed me the most was how clean the restaurant was. There was always someone going around cleaning the tables, making sure everything looked perfect, and another team member delivering the food directly to the tables. I received my order very quickly, and everything was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a great experience, and I will definitely visit again. Kudos to the whole team for their hard work and outstanding service!

McDonalds, fast food that tastes better than it should

On July 8th, 2025 at 19:50:32 in Cologne, Germany, I would like to report the offensive, racist, disturbing, and humiliating behavior displayed by McDonald's staff toward me and my two young cousins, aged 7 and 12. The abuse started with the cashier. I had already selected my order from the screen in the back. When it was our turn, I smiled and said “hello” to signal that I was a tourist. The cashier responded in a cold tone in German. I told her in English that I wanted a McSpicy menu. She made hand gestures and, with an angry expression, said something in German. I told her I didn’t understand German. Then she told me that such a menu didn’t exist. I pointed to the screen behind her where it was clearly visible, still remaining polite. She then raised her voice and shouted that the menu didn’t exist, as if I were stupid or hard of hearing. Neither she nor the Black female employee who joined her even looked at the screen. The second woman slapped a brochure and yelled at me, saying that menu didn’t exist. Both women rolled their eyes, shouted, and made provocative gestures. My 7-year-old cousin got scared and clung to me, hiding behind my back. Both children were asking why the women were shouting. Then the Black employee asked someone something inside and shouted at me: “McSpicy with or without a meal?” As if I was the one who didn’t understand. A meal includes a burger—how would I order it without the burger? The other woman entered the order on the screen in a deliberately hostile manner, emphasizing that she was irritated by me. I was shocked. Both women were clearly teaming up and coming at us. My cousins were trembling and holding my hand tightly. Then I gave their orders, but their desired burgers were dismissed with a simple “no.” Since they were hungry, I had to order something else. This whole incident made me feel humiliated and excluded. The staff treated German customers before and after us with no issue. I suffer from panic attacks. Even recalling this experience now triggers my symptoms. When I moved to pick up my food, I asked another staff member how I could file a complaint. He told me to keep the receipt. As I took my food to the table, my 7-year-old cousin joined me and told her mother she was terrified, crying. My 12-year-old cousin had stayed behind and later ran over to us. When I asked what happened, she said the staff had dropped some fries and were yelling at each other. Before we could even start eating, the same Black female staff member approached us again. I thought she might apologize—but it only got worse. She said something in German I couldn’t understand, even though I had told her earlier that I didn’t speak German. Then, in English, she told me they were closing and we had to leave. No one had mentioned that when we ordered. She didn’t say it to other customers—just us. That felt targeted. While packing up, I asked her why she had treated me so badly. She smirked and replied in German. Another woman with no uniform arrived. Thinking she was the manager, I explained the situation to her, but she just said “We’re closing” and refused to listen. The Black woman continued smirking and speaking German. I told her she was being racist, that I knew she spoke English, and she should speak English to me. She responded: “This is Deutschland.” When I told her she had been racist to me at the register, she kept smiling. We are Turkish, and my cousin’s mother wears a headscarf. She said something in German about Turks that sounded derogatory. We ended up eating cold food outside, on a bench, beside homeless people, feeling completely humiliated. My cousins had already been scared enough inside McDonald's. I request that this traumatic experience be formally acknowledged and investigated. I want a sincere apology and expect an internal review of all involved staff—especially the woman without a uniform. My receipt is available. My order was #127 and my cousins’ was #128. This incident in a peaceful country like Germany deeply traumatized me and the children.

Difficult to find Not at all warm or welcoming No hello, thank you, or anything

I've rarely experienced such a bad McDonald's as this one. I waited 20 minutes to order, and my Big McDonald's Chicken came without salad. The chicken didn't look like the picture. A disgrace.

If you're on Schildergasse in Cologne and go to C&A, you can easily stop by McDonald's on the lower floor for something to eat and a drink. I was very satisfied there.

Too crowded, too few cash registers, food was cold

I can't recommend this place. The service is just as bad as the food. I ordered a milkshake that was 90% warm foam, and it's not worth the diarrhea.

Very poor service. An employee I complained to about the incorrectly packed order started gossiping with her colleague in the middle of the conversation. After I gave her my receipt and explained exactly what was wrong, she still managed to put something else on my tray. The chicken in the burger wasn't even cooked in part. The location isn't the best either. The McDonald's is on the ground floor with a carnival store and fan shop. I'm sorry to have to complain like this, but I've never experienced anything like this before.

Hidden away in a basement, I was first served the wrong thing, and then raw chicken to boot. The service team was unfriendly and unmotivated, and the burger tasted exactly the same. Honestly, close the place for the greater good. ❤️

Terrible Staff, Unfriendly, agresive and rude workers 😡(specifically a black man of about 45-50 years of age who I assume is a leader). On May 31, 2025, at approximately 2:50 p.m., I accidentally took a video with my cell phone while waiting. An employee came over and politely informed me that taking photos/videos was not permitted. I immediately deleted the video and apologized to her, as I am a tourist and hadn't seen any sign prohibiting photography/videography. A minute later, another man, apparently the boss, came over and shouted at me in a loud and threatening voice in front of everyone: NO PHOTOS. I told him that it was his colleague just a moment ago, and that I had shown it to him and already deleted the photo from my cell phone, while he again shouted in a loud and threatening voice: NO PHOTOS, until another man waiting offered to calm the situation. I will refer this case to the higher authorities through my lawyer.

I've never had such a fresh and juicy chicken burger as the one at this place. I don't really care much for McDonald's and the like, but I'd go back anytime for this burger of the same quality.

You're forced to pay for every toilet visit; I was charged almost €3 for one visit. If it's necessary to get the money, you'll be literally grabbed.

Last Friday, May 9th, 2025, I decided to visit the local McDonald's branch after a trip to Cologne with a friend. A wrong decision, as it turned out afterwards. When we entered the premises, we initially thought it was a normal McDonald's branch: nice atmosphere and a smell that satisfied our noses. However, when we ordered and went to the checkout, we noticed that there was no employee behind the checkout. So we had to wait for someone to show up. When the process was completed and we were finally able to sit down to eat our food after a long period of suffering, we discovered that all the burgers had already fallen apart when we opened the boxes. To make matters worse, when we finally did a taste test, we discovered that we didn't like the food. All in all, we have to say that our visit was a negative surprise, as both the food and the service left something to be desired. Only the ambience was positive.

I can only give one star. I've never seen such a bad shop and the employees are also very unfriendly

food was nice , resturant was very busy but the food was still made quickly, tables were mostly dirty or had things left on them, if youre a tourist who doesnt speak german make sure to learn the numbers because they read the order numbers in german / essen war nice, restaurant war mega voll aber das essen kam trotzdem schnell, tische waren meistens dreckig oder da lag noch zeug drauf

I'm of the opinion that MC should taste the same everywhere...unfortunately the fries aren't great...the oil should be changed every now and then...and 20 minutes to eat in a fast food restaurant isn't that great...it's a shame...

This was the worst McDonald's I have ever visited. The service was extremely poor. My order number disappeared from the display and when I asked the waitress about it, she just looked at me impatiently and walked away without a word. The food had nothing to do with the pictures on the ad - it was more of a bad joke. I ordered the McCrispy Spicy Chicken, which was fried for way too long and also tasted very unappetizing. McDonald's quality appears to vary greatly, raising serious doubts about quality control. And as if that wasn't enough, there was no napkin on the tray - just disappointing. A truly frustrating meal that I never want to experience again.

It was really horrible. We waited almost an hour for our order and it was not worth it at all. The food was simply inedible. It was on a quiet day with almost no people. Really totally disappointing...

The potatoes were cold, the drinks were mixed up, and they were shouting

A slightly different McDonald's A shop in the basement of the C&A in the middle of Cologne city center Toilets Free, even if the gentleman would like a tip, the toilet is free. A little tip: show your receipt from C&A or McDonald's when discussing something. Otherwise, the cleaner likes to party down there. (Partly loud noise from party music) Now for the food, it tastes like everywhere else, the waiting time is sometimes long because the shop is overcrowded, especially on Saturdays. Staff friendly with a few exceptions, but the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Be sure to check your orders, sometimes something is forgotten, but if there is a complaint it will be corrected immediately. And a little tip: if you are friendly, you will be treated friendly.

McDonald's is a lot of standard but you know what you're getting.

Fast food? Process the order yourself and then wait 15 minutes

The employees were terrible, they brought me one extra menu, I said that it was a mistake, they ignored it and left, came back 10 minutes later and said why did I eat it and accused me of not warning. Very terrible employees!

It's in the mall, and server was helpful, food took quite a while to arrive. They bring to your table, so you can kind of forget how long they take, as you look at your phone etc. Clean establishment

Dec 2024: Standard McDonald's with standard setup. The usual listless staff. So far nothing new. System catering, after all... But the prices are now knocking that out of the water. So expensive...I'd rather look for snack alternatives...it's a shame what the chain has become.

It was horrible waiting for my order for an hour, the staff told me to wait, in the end the order didn't arrive and the money wasn't refunded

The staff forces you to pay 50 cents to use the toilet, even though you ate at McDonald's. A sign indicates that you would be happy to receive a 'thank you' of 50 cents for the cleanliness. However, the Lord doesn't let anyone in who hasn't paid first. And a lady standing by checks it and nods that you are then 'allowed' to use the toilet. Now you have to think about how much money he is earning on the side and untaxed, especially during the Christmas season. In any case, more than lucrative for the cleaner. Nevertheless, incredibly bold and outrageous for me as a paying customer. Maybe appropriate for toilet tourists, but not if you've already left money in C&A or McDonalds.

This is the worst McDonald's I've ever been to in my entire life, the employees are very unfriendly, you can't have a meaningful conversation, I ordered normally with my children and we just wanted to sit down where the employees told me that we should go out because they supposedly to open the shop where others had just sat down and eaten, we also mentioned this, they didn't care and we went out and apart from that so many things were missing and nothing was properly packed when we wanted to go back that was all already closed and didn't let us in. I can't recommend such an unfriendly and disrespectful McDonalds to anyone.

From ordering via app to receiving the food at the table took less than 5 minutes, even though it was quite busy (1pm on Saturday). The food was very tasty and warm. The cleanliness was very positive. An employee worked tirelessly to clean the floor and tables and immediately empty the filled tray carts.

Too long waiting times in general, recently at Mc Donalds, the restaurant is in the basement of C&A Today we were chased away from part of the restaurant, and at the end an employee put his fingers in my cola, when I asked for a new cola, he went behind the counter and brought the same cola back, not recommended!!!! !

Peculiar place for a MC, lvl -1 under C&A... but the usual food tastes just as expected. The toilet can only be used if you pay in cash (which I haven't used in more than 10 years), so tough luck...

The fries were cold and soggy, the burger had no sauce and the cheese was cold and not melted, the cheese had disgusting stains on me. That was the worst food I've ever eaten.

A trip to this McDonald's left only negative impressions. There were 6 of us, and we made a large order with the hope of a delicious meal. When we finally waited for the waiter who brought us the order, or rather brought only part of it, I said that it was not all, after 2 minutes he brought some more, but it was still not all. Then 5-10 minutes passed again, we went to ask where the rest of our order was, as it turned out they forgot about it, and we spent a long time figuring out what we received and what we didn't. Then we realized we didn't get the promo code stickers, they just weren't on our food. My boyfriend asked the staff, then the manager, and it took a long time to find out why we didn't get them, even though we should have. The manager, as well as the waiter, do not speak German well, which is also a big minus, but in the end we managed to get our stickers. The staff should definitely be more attentive. We will definitely never come to this establishment again. (I also forgot to add that much of the food received was cold)

Pretty standard affair, nothing special at all... Numerous items missing from order, "we'll bring to your table when ready." Order never completed, and food didn't arrive. No one knew anything about it when we went to complain, so just left.

This McDonalds is the worst I have ever been to, the service was terrible. When we wanted to report a problem, we were completely ignored by a young woman who had brought us food beforehand. In addition, the service was not fluent in German and their English was quite poor. I will never set foot in this McDonald's again.

The best fast food I've ever eaten in Cologne. I collected toys for the happy meal and explained to the cashier which toys I wanted, but she didn't quite understand. At this point, her boss poked his head out from between the two shelves, asked me to show him the bill, and then asked me what I wanted. I said I wanted an elephant toy, and the boss immediately ordered the cashier to get it for me. He said elephant five or six times in a row! Give her an elephant! The cashier very quickly found an elephant and a polar bear for me.

Actually a typical McDonald’s, food and drinks like everywhere else. I don't think it's nice that it's in the basement. The atmosphere is also not that inviting. At peak times you can hardly get a seat, it seems chaotic and the guests don't put their stuff away.

I find the food like any other McDonald's but the condition is very bad and I ordered a mcplant but got the mcplant nuggets. You don't have to talk about hygiene at all. The tables are always dirty. I wouldn't come here if I was in Cologne, they can't even begin to speak German here. Womp womp ☝🏿

They ordered Fanta and I got a simple mineral water We threw in a vitamin with lemon flavor.. 😉 They didn’t throw in napkins or the sauce that I ordered, at least they threw quite a bit of cabbage into the burger!

A McDonald's like any other. It's okay with the kids for a change. But not cheap, good if you want to go quickly. Otherwise it's better to go to a restaurant.
