McDonald's in Erfurt

I was at this McDonald's three weeks ago to "quickly" get some ice cream. This plan was faltering when we arrived. All the ordering kiosks were full, and a crowd of about 15 people were still waiting to order. When I asked an employee if we could order ice cream at the cash register, they said no, saying the cash register was only for payment; you couldn't order anything there. So we got out, got in the car, and went through the drive-thru...after three minutes, we had our ice cream.

My visit to this branch was an absolute disaster. I've rarely experienced anything like it. The food was so disgusting that I seriously wondered if anyone even monitors what goes on in the kitchen anymore. The burger was completely raw inside, the meat undercooked, almost translucent. From the very first bite, I was hit by an intense, musty, rotten taste – as if the meat had already gone bad. I felt like I was eating something moldy. Additionally, the burger was completely overloaded with mushy, watery lettuce – so much that the proportions were completely out of whack. The lettuce was literally dripping out when I lifted the burger. And then the shocking moment: I actually found a toenail in my food. Not a tiny crumb, but a clearly visible piece of nail. At that point, I finally realized something had gone terribly wrong. The overall taste was absolutely disgusting – like nothing but cardboard, stale, and artificial. It didn't fill me up in the slightest, quite the opposite: Shortly after eating, I got severe stomach pains, nausea, and later severe diarrhea. I spent half the evening in bed with cramps and nausea and deeply regret this visit. I've eaten a lot of fast food in my life, but this was by far the most disgusting and unappealing fast food I've ever been served. I can only strongly advise against visiting this restaurant.

Service is getting worse; it's open until 2 a.m., and after midnight, only drive-thru is available. As of 10:15 p.m., there was no more Sunday service because the ice cream machine was being cleaned, even though it was open until midnight.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 I went to McDonald's a while ago as part of the "Around the World with McDonald's" campaign – and I'm absolutely thrilled! The campaign is fantastic: McDonald's is currently bringing 22 products from 17 countries to Germany.  I was already surprised by the fries: They tasted particularly good, with a spicy salt mix that perfectly rounded them off – spicy, but not overpowering. The flavor was almost reminiscent of a subtle shaker seasoning you've seen in some promotions. (I suspect it might have been a finely balanced blend of chili, paprika, and fine salt.) And the burgers? Absolutely delicious. They arrived hot and freshly prepared, the meat juicy, the bun soft, everything well-balanced – not carelessly put together, but with care. The ambiance and customer service were also impressive: the staff were friendly, the store was clean, and order processing was quick. In summary: a great campaign where you can try something truly special. If you like good fast food—and want to discover something new every now and then—I highly recommend this store and the campaign!"

October 11, 2025 Today I ordered takeout from the McDonald's drive-thru on Weimarische Straße. Unfortunately, I didn't notice two of the four items until I got home, and I don't want to drive 25 km back. This isn't the first time; I really have to check every package! While I would understand if the staff forgot something with a large order, the fact that they forgot two of the four items is absolutely outrageous!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Everything was great. Plenty of choice and reasonable prices.

Today I ate the most disgusting McDonald's wrap of my life. The egg in the breakfast menu was cold – I don't understand how that's even possible. When I told an employee about it, all I got was a response: "What do you expect, should I heat it up?" When we reported it to the shift manager, they said it had to be that way and there was nothing they could do about it. The wrap was very poorly prepared: half the egg was cold, the other half was warm. That can't be standard at McDonald's. Furthermore, the wrap bread tasted like it had been sitting out for far too long. The employees were also not friendly at all. Therefore, I absolutely cannot recommend this branch.

Today I was on a busy shift. I was pleasantly surprised. The wait at the ordering machine was okay. Payment in cash promptly and easily. I don't like McDonald's anymore. I don't know if it's me or the food. But that's a matter of taste 😀🙋 Only the menu navigation of the machines simply doesn't make any sense.

I've rarely been treated so rudely: Ordered an iced matcha latte and received a warm matcha latte. Instead of an iced matcha latte, two ice cubes were added, and I was rudely informed that an iced matcha latte is cold and a matcha latte is hot. When I asked what I ordered, the answer was "a hot matcha latte," until I showed the order confirmation as proof. The only response I got was a snide "We'll know better next time." In short, it tasted like a boring hot matcha with cold water in it, and they "couldn't find" the receipt, which contained the code for potential feedback, and refused to look at it. Unfortunately, this is the second time in a row that an order was issued incorrectly/incompletely, and the service was absolutely terrible!!

One star is actually too much for a closed restaurant. In other words, the opening hours don't match the actual opening time. Instead, there's just a small note stuck to the door stating that they'll be opening later.

I just ordered here at the McD Drive-In and was having a really hard time understanding what was being said. Then, unfortunately, I realized too late that one of the burgers I ordered was missing. Luckily, I didn't receive a bill, otherwise I would have had to check to see if I was actually charged for the burger, which cost a whopping €8.39. 😶🤬McD

Having breakfast here again after a long time... Empty, clean, friendly... Am I mistaken, or were the McMuffins bigger in the old days? But everything was delicious...

The staff makes it clear that they're unmotivated and absolutely uninterested, and they won't let you in an hour before closing. Either change the opening hours or post a notice to stop so many people from driving there for nothing. If you want to eat at MC in Erfurt, go to Dubliner Straße. They've never disappointed me.

Incorrect entries in orders made via the app cannot be corrected (before production), as the store's cash register would then show a shortfall after paying via the app. This statement doesn't make sense to me. The staff couldn't explain this procedure either. Tables were dirty. Overall, not recommended. Clean Burger King branch 2 minutes down the street. Overall, not worth a visit.

A lot of things were sold out which was a shame and very cold but the food itself was as always

I was very disappointed with my visit to this McDonald's. I politely asked the employee to serve me the burger without the bun because I have celiac disease. Instead of being understanding, she mocked me and asked me repeatedly if I really wanted the burger without the bun—as if my illness were a joke. It's shameful and disrespectful to treat a serious health condition like this. Unfortunately, there was no gluten-free alternative, and I was also ridiculed. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone with a food intolerance or illness. I will definitely not visit this McDonald's again.

A fairly clean MC's. Ordering at the terminal was easy and delivery to the table was quick. Restrooms were also relatively clean.

Quiet, clean, plenty of parking, would gladly stay again

The Original McFlurry tasted absolutely nothing like a McFlurry; it had an indefinable flavor somewhere between strawberry and something else. The "new recipe" for the chicken burger apparently just involves reducing the size of the bun and the meat. The two coupons in the McDonald's app (€2.50 for a cheeseburger, €2.50 for a chicken burger) are also a joke, as that's now the regular price for the corresponding burgers.

I'm a regular at McDonald's and enjoy their soft-serve ice cream. Unfortunately, I've noticed several times in the last few weeks that the ice cream is almost frozen solid and tastes more crystalline than creamy. It seems as if the machine is set too cold or the ice cream isn't at the right temperature. It used to be much better.

To date, after more than months, no response has been received to my complaint about the employee's behavior.

Overall, a very good visit! The food was fresh, ordering was quick, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The branch was clean and well organized. A small point deduction because it was quite hectic and loud during my visit. Otherwise, it was really great, I'd be happy to come back!

The outside table was sticky. The fries in the Happy Meal were cold, there was no mayo, and so was the dessert. The Coke wasn't carbonated. After complaining, they got ice cubes in the drink, and it still wasn't carbonated. The burger on the other meal was wrong!

The staff was always very friendly and always had a smile! Orders were always complete and neatly packaged for easy transport in the car. They also asked if you needed extra cup holders.

Very tasty food. Service is okay. At some McDonald's branches, you wait forever at the checkout line. The ambiance gets three stars because the place stinks of grease and it's just too loud.

The food is prepared and delivered very quickly, the quality is excellent, and the staff are pleasant and friendly. BUT: The terminals are so incredibly slow that you'd think they were still running Windows 95. Sometimes it almost puts you off eating.

There's no service here! Customers are no longer served personally! You're directed to a terminal. I can do that; I'll go somewhere else where customers are still welcome.

This restaurant in Erfurt is simply worth recommending. It was so busy at lunchtime that the restaurant was quiet and the tables were almost clean. Even the restrooms were very clean. There's nothing to complain about. Great, keep it up. The tables were even decorated with vases and fresh flowers.

My first and last visit. My son just wanted a quick 9-piece chicken nuggets with curly fries. Everything to go. When he unpacked it at home, there were only 7 nuggets inside, and instead of curly fries, there were small, soggy fries. For that, it cost almost €10. Respect. Never to be resisted!

We had pre-ordered via the app. Everything went quickly, the service was very friendly, but when we got home we noticed that the Coke glasses were missing. That was very disappointing.

Today my friends and I went to McDonald's. We ordered a red glass and two purple ones. It was said that they only had yellow lenses. The customers after us all had different lens colors, so we asked again whether our lens colors were available. There was obviously a red one there. The shift manager or whatever she was told us there was no more red. We then there is still one. This is for the next customer even though we had already ordered an hour ago. She's really rude here, so you don't keep whining. This kind of behavior is not acceptable at all. We were friendly the whole time. When I order a cheeseburger, I don't just get a hamburger and the customers after me get a cheeseburger.

Very unclean. The whole table was full of crumbs and the benches were dirty too. The food took a long time and the staff looks extremely depressed.

We are very satisfied. Toilet was not used. Waiting time was short. Everything hot and prepared to order. Staff super friendly. Tables all clean and tidy. There was nothing to complain about. I also know it differently. Especially in terms of personnel. But here everything was satisfactory.

The food is okay, but you shouldn't forget that it's a fast food restaurant. The employees are not always the friendliest. What I don't like is that something goes wrong with almost every order. Either the coffee is forgotten or a burger is missing. That's not nice.

Unfortunately, the MC Donalds team was already in the evening mood and told us when we paid that they were only open for 5 minutes. The toilets were already closed. I find it impossible that you can only order at the terminal. A big queue, many people don't know their way around and therefore take longer at the terminal. Dear Mr. Branch Manager, I actually think this is the first time I've written a review on Google. The incompetence of your employees drove me to this. Needless to say, I don't have high expectations at McDonald's on Friday evening at 10:15 p.m., but I don't repeat my order over the intercom for nothing! I order and go over the order with your employee. Nevertheless, the Spicy Nuggets are missing for my good friend and Captain Carlo! This is unacceptable! Apart from the €3.99, I find this simply humanly reprehensible, we were polite and friendly, yet the guy with the black hair, who is on shift at 10:15 p.m. on December 13th, 2024, simply wants to char us. "As a citizen of Zittau, I'm happy that we finally have a McDonald's branch in the city. I used to regularly visit the McDonald's in Görlitz, but unfortunately the quality no longer seems to be the same. The food used to be much better. The meat tastes different - probably due to a new buyer - and even the hamburger buns often seem squashed and unappetizing. As prices rise, I at least expect the quality to stay the same or get better. If it's just a matter of adjusting the minimum wage without changing anything in terms of taste or quality, I see that as a long-term threat to customer loyalty. You can't complain about the ambience at McDonalds Weimar. There have always been fresh flowers on the tables for a few weeks and today, November 21st, there were already beautiful Christmas decorations inside and outside. It's actually always clean.

One star because you have to give one for a review. Clothes messed up and hardly any reaction from the employees. Ordered food and used table service. When the order was brought, the drink was poured over my pants, shoes, T-shirt and jacket. The food was also showered. After you squeezed out an apology, you were apparently done with it. The request to please remake the food was noticeably unwelcome. When I asked how we deal with the slutty clothing and whether there might be any accommodation from McDonald's, they expressly said no. Been there today. A thousand things were forgotten when I ordered. It's chaos there... hardly anyone understands you. Employees seemed stressed and under pressure. Of course you can't be friendly there. There are loud arguments about things. Something like that doesn't belong in the guest area. Too bad.

Great McDonalds, with delicious food as you are used to. Quick preparation, lots of seating inside and outside. Good location, lots of parking spaces.

The food tastes good but unfortunately it has become very expensive. The service is okay, but people there don't seem to know many words. Thank you and please only come casually and a smile is often missing. (maybe I'm just asking too much for today's times) the atmosphere is okay but I find the chairs a bit uncomfortable. And the earlier style, which was more reminiscent of the 50s and 60s, definitely had more charm. All in all, I'm already passing by and will continue to do so. I'm usually just at the drive in anyway.

Who doesn't know how to eat something quickly with the children? It's nice to stop at McDonald's for a moment. I always used to think that way. But things are often different at the moment. Today I was lucky again McDonald's wasn't too busy, there was enough staff because we were served quickly and we won 2 Big Macs in the competition. Unfortunately, it's not always like that. Often I find myself missing something when ordering, or you wait a long time because there are only 2 service people there and about 20 guests, or nothing works because the technology doesn't work. Unfortunately, I always find the prices to be very high. Without an app or coupons, I can't get anything anymore anyway. I'll definitely drive by again to eat there with my family. Were there at 12:19 a.m. on Saturday and the lady has already locked everything up, but according to the opening times, she'll be at the door and on the internet until 1:00 a.m. There are 4 people, a lot of hunger and then something like that. The staff cannot speak German and you have to place your orders yourself at the machine. Calling the number to bring food is ignored. It took 25 minutes for me to get the food (mcrib menu)! There are really skilled workers employed here. Welcome to the new Germany.

Service was super friendly. But instead of my 20 vegetarian nuggets, I got non-vegan nuggets mixed with some dumplings that I didn't order at all.

Menus okay but why the hell is the McFlurry only half the portion and warm chocolate sauce with the ice cream, even other MCs have cold chocolate sauce.

Went to the DriveIn and ordered both the “Bill” and the “Tom” Kaulitz menu. When making the selection, it was said that both had curly fries, not (as mentioned in every advertisement) the plant-based nuggets in the Tom menu. When asked, the employee was then pushed away by a stroppy old man. He just hissed at us that the advertising only referred to some app codes that we couldn't find in the app even after some research. We were super disappointed, both by not getting what we were there for and by the completely unfriendly manner of the (we assume) boss. This branch has long since reduced its service, so in the future we'll prefer to go to the friendly competition a few meters further 😌 Addendum: Both menus were supposed to be plant-based, both burgers had meat on them. With that, McDonalds is completely done. (Below again the advertising from McDonalds on Instagram, which the gentleman wasn't interested in either)
