McDonald's in Erfurt

If you're closing two hours earlier than usual, why can't you at least update that information in the app's internal system? And as I've read in other reviews here, this has apparently been the case for at least a month.

Awful! I was just at McDonald's with my daughter. I ordered online, but accidentally clicked the wrong button and booked the drive-thru. My car doesn't fit in the drive-thru, and I couldn't cancel it online. So I decided to go inside and enter the order code. First, I was rudely told to order at the kiosk, then I was told the code couldn't be entered. Then, this employee disparagingly told her colleague about the incident, and he told me that if I didn't pick up the order, the payment wouldn't be processed. Without offering any suggestion or even asking if I still wanted the order, this employee also left me hanging, and so I left the "restaurant" with a crying child. I have never experienced such unfriendly and incompetent service.

It's become incredibly unpleasant since the renovation. The playground was removed during the previous renovation, and now the children's area has been made smaller. We don't like it at all anymore. It's modern, but not attractive.

McDonald's is getting worse and worse... now you can't even pay with cash when ordering via the app. Absolutely outrageous! They keep forgetting burgers. The McRip is a joke with that tiny dollop of sauce... But when you see what they've installed, it's no wonder they charge so much!!!

Extremely slow, this is the third time I've waited at the drive-thru for a good 20 minutes, even though there was only one car ahead of us with a small order. Our order was only two items. There were very few customers inside. The staff were friendly, hence the two stars.

I can't find anything like it used to be there. It's totally unfriendly to children with its strange layout, the food has become ridiculously expensive, and the quality isn't great either... the food is almost always lukewarm, and the packaging is carelessly thrown around, so the whole burger is shifted. A great ball pit like they used to have would be amazing, so the kids would actually look forward to going to McDonald's. 😒

I'm here at McDonald's in Erfurt, Dubliner Str. 20, and I've been sitting here for 20 minutes waiting for my food. Everything's usually fine, but it's just not good when it takes so long for a small order.

Items are often missing. Fries are forgotten on menus. Or free rewards like cheeseburgers, etc., are missing. I will avoid this branch in the future. The food is too expensive.

I ordered takeout from the restaurant and unfortunately didn't check the bag right away. I discovered at home that one of the burgers was wrong and the fries had been forgotten. When I only ordered two meals, such mistakes shouldn't happen. Nothing to say about the food, it's McDonald's.

Before and after the renovation, every order still had to be checked. Ordered food was simply forgotten, but the money was gladly taken. The wait time also increased by 30 minutes after the renovation. The staff generally seemed confused and chaotic. The money taken from customers could have been used to expand the parking lot, as the store seems so packed every day at all hours that some people have to park at the adjacent ATU supermarket.

Since the renovation, it's been quite pleasant, not particularly busy at lunchtime, but in my experience it gets quite crowded in the evenings.

When you call them to ask if they speak English they tell you no, you are in Germany, you must speak German, but how come only Arabs work there? How can I place an order and not get everything, and when I call they speak to me like that? What is abnormal that I don't speak German? If I am in Germany visiting, do I have to speak German? My answer to their insensitivity is,, You are in the UE you must speak English'', I could have told them that on the phone, but they shut me up. This is not the first time I have placed an order and not received everything in it.

We waited an incredibly long time for our order, over 15 minutes. It turned out they simply forgot... The shift supervisor said, "If you want to complain, go ahead." It was a very unpleasant experience...

This time I simply have to rate it. The staff were all friendly, it wasn't very full, but they forgot another burger. Nothing new about something missing. Last time it was the cheeseburger in my daughter's Happy Meal. Today it was a Hamburger Royal TS. I laughed and said I'd better check. I was so stupid and didn't do it. If only these were isolated cases.

Open until 11:00 PM? Ridiculous. By 9:30 PM, all the chairs are up, and the atmosphere is like a cemetery. Better just close up.

Before the renovations, we always ordered online, drove to the drive-thru, and picked everything up. Today was our first time back, and what can I say... I'm speechless. Things were supposed to get better after the renovations, but the opposite happened. At the window where the food is served, we were asked what we had actually ordered. After we showed our online order, we suddenly got two bags. After a quick glance, we noticed that some things were missing. The lady at the window grabbed some bags again and helped us to the window. We asked for drinks. Once we had them, we pulled over to the side to check again. Again, we focused on what was missing. By now we had five bags to check... and we really lost track. So we drove home. Some of the things we ordered weren't there, but we had other things with us. The food was barely tasty, and I had the feeling that the meat patties had been sitting there longer than stated. The cheese on the meat was already dried out. The burgers weren't presented in the usual appetizing way. Sure, it's a fast-food restaurant, but you should still expect some service and quality.

Far too crowded, employees overwhelmed

No, no, that was nothing. Dried rolls, not the usual good quality and taste. Our food wasn't called out and thus forgotten. Not to mention the sanitary conditions.

As far as I can remember, I've never received an order from this store exactly as ordered. I can only advise checking orders on-site. Either products are completely forgotten, or personalizations are forgotten or incorrectly executed. It's simply frustrating.

I stood there for 10 minutes if not longer and that was just handing over the receipt at the cash register.

After the renovation, it's much too small, there's hardly any space, the children's play area is too narrow, no child can move around properly, apart from being "modern" there's nothing nice about it, hardly any of the staff speak German (which makes it difficult to understand), and the interior (seating area) is also quite small.

Ordering larger items via the app can make mistakes, but this topped everything I've ever experienced. One Sprite was missing (I pointed this out directly on the spot), one fries, and two Big Macs were missing. But the highlight was the cheeseburger for the app points. The meat patty was significantly colder than the ambient temperature, and the bun was dried out and hard, like it had come from the freezer and not been reheated. Absolutely DISGUSTING McD's, no matter what you do, stay WAY clear of that dumpling.

After the renovation, it's become an absolute disaster! The burgers are smaller and cold. My wrap was half empty. The kids' area is almost nonexistent!

It's simply a disgrace. We picked up our food at the MCDrive. Right from the start, we noticed that a pair of fries and a drink were missing. When we got home, we realized that two Big Baps were missing, worth a total of €13.40. The cheeseburger was ice cold and the bun was hard. It's ridiculous that they even serve something like that (from the freezer compartment into a bag). This place is absolutely awful, and I'll never go there again! Don't trust the employees; it's apparently very difficult to pack an order and serve warm burgers.

As you'd expect from a McDonald's. Quite crowded, but quick. The children's play area was quite small. With four children, it was already too crowded. One star deducted because a drink was forgotten, but that's unfortunately normal at every McDonald's. Considering the number of customers, it was exceptionally clean.

The food was good, but I used my points to buy ice cream twice, but only got it once. I explained the incident to the staff and even showed them the points deduction as proof, but I still didn't get my second ice cream.

Fast food. That's all I want here. Deduction here because about every second order is missing something. You can't check every order after receipt. But that can't be the argument for so many cases. Addendum 08/25: We tried again after the renovation... Disaster... The new left entrance to the mcDrive is the ultimate rim killer. You can only get in there with a small car. The right-hand lane is therefore just as long as before the renovation... Again, parts of the order were incorrect or missing entirely. The shake machine was broken again, and something must have gone wrong with PayPal payments (people were desperately queuing up to see who had which PayPal payment in the amount of...). At the checkout, they asked you what you ordered. Ouch... Addendum 09/25 Went back today at my daughter's request. And definitely for the last time. This time, the burger and fries were missing. Everything is crammed into a bag, so you can't check in the car if everything is there. It's fast food, but the surrounding service is abysmally poor. The shake machine is either still broken or broken again...

Very friendly staff, and a very chic and modern design. We were completely satisfied.

The food is good, service is very slow. After the renovations, the atmosphere is terrible. There are plenty of seats, which is nice, but unnecessary when you consider that there are six ordering terminals, three of which are inaccessible when there's a long queue. Whoever thought up such nonsense is a disaster. The great children's area has been made tiny, tiny, tiny. Not nice, we always go to Dupliner Straße with the kids. Now it'll probably only be McDrive.

What are these opening hours, and what's happening with the branch? You once had almost 5 stars, and every year it's falling further and further. Things are always missing from orders, from just a sauce to whole burgers. I don't know how they manage it. It would be good to train the employees better, and the waiting time is too long for a quick snack: never under 10 minutes, and sometimes even 30 minutes in the evening.

The renovation was a success. Everything was redone.

After the renovation in 2025, eating there is an absolute disaster. One thing at a time. 1. The store is now far too small for visitors who want to eat there. If there's more than one person standing at the order terminals, there's no room to walk. 2. The seats. There are very few seats compared to before, and if there are, you end up sitting at the table with the others. 3. There's no longer a seat/terminal/cash register where there's someone actively available to answer questions; there are only those who shout the order number across the store. 4. Promotional products are unavailable from the operator, who owns all the stores in Erfurt, and this has been the case for weeks. In my case, it's Sakura Sprite. The renovation has made everything look cold, uninviting, and more like a hospital cafeteria. The entire store has been converted to mobile customers, meaning cars in the McDrive, and that's the main focus. Unfortunately, there isn't much good left to say about this location. I can't comment on the food yet, as they sold out of what we wanted, so we left. But I'm also reluctant to eat there in the future. You'd better go to Apolda/Weimar/Jena, where it's more inviting. Addendum: Before the renovation, the food was one of the best. No complaints there yet. After the renovation, no information yet. Addendum 2: To clarify the cold and uninviting atmosphere, before the renovation, there was a large children's corner, an indoor mini-play area, where there was ALWAYS something going on. Now that's gone. Before the renovation, there was a large open space with plenty of seating/a coffee corner, partition walls, warm colors, and now EVERYTHING is gone, just a few benches and a few standing tables with stools, like at a highway gas station with a cheap bakery.

The newly renovated McDonald’s looks fantastic! Modern interiors, comfortable seating, and quick service make it a perfect spot to enjoy your favorite meals.

Well, first of all, we didn't get what we wanted. When I asked them about it, they said they didn't have the things, so we just got something else for which we hadn't paid. (The items were listed as still available.) Then I ordered two Cokes, and since the Coke was empty, they just made a sip of Coke and the rest water. We didn't get the sauces we wanted either, and the food wasn't that special. It really wasn't good, and my child was also very disappointed that she couldn't have any toys because they had nothing left. In short, I paid money and didn't get half of what I wanted.

Unfriendly staff, arrogant and insulting towards customers.

Despite it being the end of the day, they remained respectful and allowed me to finish my meal and wash my hands in peace. Very commendable. Considering my high blood pressure, everything was great. 👍🏽

Unfortunately, terminals are often broken. The store is clean, and even during peak hours, there are no long waits. The employees are always friendly. The food tastes neither better nor worse than in other branches.

The food came quickly but the fries were cold and dry and the chicken nuggets tasted weird, it has been better.

I stop here quite often and am very satisfied with the service and the freshness of the food. I see some room for improvement in keeping the tables and benches clean.

With the outside temperature at 25 degrees Celsius, I was looking forward to a cool iced tea. What I got was a completely soggy cup (see picture). It was truly disgusting.

Instead of McPlant nuggets, they packed chicken nuggets with my McPlant meal. I didn't realize it until I'd already eaten half of one. I could have cried. At the counter, I received a terse "sorry" and a new pack of McPlant nuggets. As if I could have eaten anything else. Thanks for the disgust.

I've ordered there several times, and the products I paid for via PayPal keep missing. Yesterday, the same thing happened again: the €4.50 milkshake wasn't there. After the seventh call to the store, an annoyed employee finally answered the phone and said they'd send the shake "when things are less busy in the store." He had written down the address, but of course, the shake never arrived... It's amazing how McDonald's rips off its customers...

If you are plagued by hunger, you can treat yourself to something delicious and enjoy it in a nice atmosphere. But the entrance to the restaurant really doesn't work, it should be changed 😉

One of the dirtiest McDonald's I've ever seen. There's dirt and grime everywhere, tables aren't cleaned properly, and there are food scraps all over the floor. I don't expect a high standard from McDonald's, but a certain level of hygiene and cleanliness is expected. The health department or trade office will be informed if hygiene standards aren't observed.

We were at MC Drive-In last night and ordered exactly four things: a cheeseburger, a large bag of fries, 20 nuggets, and a wrap. Since we are there at least twice a month, today was the very last time for us! Unfortunately, it has often happened that the burgers in particular (MCRipp) had very little sauce on them, only today, but as you can see in the picture there was a small blob on it or nothing at all (even though double sauce was ordered + extra costs!!!) Unfortunately, this is not the first time that something from what we ordered is always missing... so the 70km (outward journey) is much too good for us to get a meal like that! You won't see us again!!! PS: I can only advise everyone to go to another McDonald's but not to this one!!!

I would have liked a transport box like this for my ice cream sundaes. And unfortunately the straw was missing too. And unfortunately the chicken burger was why I had to grill it so I had to use a fancy classic, it was okay but strange that there was no more sauce at 11 in the morning.

I ordered a wrap and selected ingredients. Despite a note saying they weren't on the wrap, they were on it. Luckily it was purely for taste reasons and not because I'm allergic to it. This has now happened for the third time. Quite dangerous and irresponsible for allergy sufferers.

Fraud, I ordered food via the app and paid for it with table service, and the food didn't arrive. Staff says it would be handed over.

The nastiest and worst thing I've ever experienced was being asked not to eat inside because they had to clean. Despite the offer to clear away our trash, we were escorted out. The answer we got was that we don't care if they rate us poorly. You have to have this if you go out to eat with the kids after work. Friendliness is very important. The shed has seen us for the last time. Oh and not to forget that we had to wait almost an hour for the food. There were even customers who left and forewent their paid orders. Thumbs up for the worst McDonald's I've ever been to.

Nether Flame Sauce tastes like diarrhea

They served us quite quickly, the food was quite good and the employees were good-natured. The bathrooms were clean and smelled good, remembering to go.

Ordering is only possible online at the terminal. If you don't want that, you're out of luck. Lady at the counter doesn't take orders. Big bummer.

The food itself tastes good, but for a while now you have to constantly check your order when you order take-away. Every time something is missing and you either notice it at home and get annoyed because you don't want to go there again or you notice it beforehand and have to go back. This is really annoying, especially when it's full. The burgers are also often very carelessly topped, especially when there is a lot going on.

All in all, just a fast food restaurant. The service staff are always friendly, even when there is a lot going on. Waiting times are quite moderate. And the food tastes good (so you get what you pay for)... BUT: and that's really not nice - If you order for several people in the app, i.e. get a few things together and then pick them up, something is missing almost every time. Which of course you also paid for. And that's not okay. Two weeks ago it was a large fries, yesterday a 6 piece nuggets. And you can't just unpack and repack three bags to check everything. It would be nice if the employees were a little tidier!! Then it's better to wait a minute longer, but get everything...
