Early cult and very beautiful. It was my favorite beer garden for many years. I've known it for over 20 years and have always enjoyed coming here. Update3: We were back. This time it was nice and the service was pleasingly quicker. Thanks for that

Went to the urban mcfly old school party yesterday. Weird crowd, bad system [no bass] and only mainstream music was played... It was also too expensive...almost €20 was spent on entry and cloakroom... No need to repeat.

I was there this evening and forgot my phone in the toilet, then it was gone... the staff did everything they could to get my phone back. A huge thank you to the entire team, without you I wouldn't have gotten my phone back. You are mega!

Were there to celebrate, nice evening over 40 party

The food was okay, but unfortunately I didn't feel full. So a larger portion would be nice. (Schnitzel) Very loud, and the benches are not comfortable and it's not fun to sit there for long.

The food was delicious, our waiter was great. His "friendliness" would have been better suited to the morning, although it does an injustice to the Köbessen people there. He didn't know there was a Caesar's salad on the menu, which could happen. But if you wanted to take a break after the third drink, he would get annoyed. The young waiters, who didn't speak German very well, were much friendlier.

Location and ambience: The beer garden is really nice and the evening sun has a nice angle. Service: Unfortunately a disappointing visit. We sat inside and just wanted to drink two Kölsch in comfort - but that didn't work. After we made our presence known, the waitress briefly took our order but then simply disappeared. Five minutes later the Kölsch finally arrived - in an almost empty interior. No trace of the hospitality or attention that you would actually expect in Cologne. It's a shame - we had hoped for more.

Never experienced worse handling in an emergency situation! We were at a party at Herbrand when an accident occurred that seriously injured several people. The party was subsequently interrupted, and the club had to be evacuated. However, we had to wait in the courtyard for more than two hours before we could even leave the club – simply because everyone had been given a food ticket at the entrance, which had to be paid for first. It's perfectly understandable that the club wanted its money, but in such an emergency situation, there should have been another solution.

Simply cheeky and embarrassing! We were there to celebrate, but after an hour the party was canceled due to an incident with people being injured. We were told to all go out. However, we had to wait in the cold for over an hour before we were finally allowed to leave. The situation was anything but nice. Everyone just wanted to get out, but it was extremely tight. Some people even cried and panicked. But instead of letting ourselves out quickly, we had to wait because we had to pay for a few drinks. I find it absolutely impossible to just think about money in a situation like this. We just wanted to get out! Simply embarrassing and inhumane!!!

The party was canceled due to external issues. They held us for two hours demanding money, with no regard for safety or customer protection. A disgrace—I'll never return. The worst experience I've ever had at a venue. Rude staff, overwhelmed, and inexperienced. The owners or those in charge? Silence. They take their money under the table and just carry on. A bill? None.

I went to a reggaeton party and there was a problem with someone getting hurt. They kicked us all out and forced us to pay for things we hadn't consumed. The organization was a disaster, as was security. I don't recommend going to this place at all.

The tarte flambée, salads, and burgers are particularly good here. In summer, the beer garden is truly beautiful, and the staff is attentive and friendly. The cocktails are well-mixed and delicious. Unfortunately, it gets very stuffy and noisy inside on weekend evenings.

The party got stopped due to an incident in the crowd after 1 hour, and we were asked to leave. Since payment for drinks was with a Verzehrkarte, all the people from the party had to wait (ca. 2 hours) outside in the yard to pay at the exit before leaving. Bad response to emergencies.

Food and drinks are good, there is enough space and the volume allows conversations without sign language or shouting.

Good party location, relaxed guests, professional staff

The food is good for the price. The selection is rather small, but I think that's a good thing. Service was a bit overwhelmed, although it wasn't even remotely full. All in all, it's totally fine for a stopover.

I was at a carnival event, the music was great and it was fun.

We booked Herbrand's for an evening event with almost 300 people and can only report good things. The planning, consultation and preparation were extremely uncomplicated and customer-oriented. So it wasn't surprising when everything was perfectly prepared that evening, every item on the program took place exactly to the minute and the service was impeccable. Food, drinks, decorations, ...none of which left anything to be desired. We'll definitely be happy to come back!

Calm place especially in the Garden / Hof with Kölnische touch. So to say, here one especially Kölnische culture food Beers and other regional foods and drinks. Also good to visit in bigger groups. HERBRAND is Fun

Was there for the second time in a short time and both times the waiter (older semester) was so unfriendly... I think he was a Köbes in the morning and "that's the way it should be", I have no idea. I have my second drink order, which I left behind after our table corner was "overlooked" for 30-40 minutes after I was so rudely shouted at. By the way, my colleague at the table didn't order anything the whole evening because no one came at first and then he didn't feel like it anymore because of this "plum". This is a great way to scare away guests. We won't be coming back, we were a larger group, but apparently they don't want to make any sales. Changing jobs is good. Never ordered food, so no review possible.

Unfortunately the dance floor is made of stone and sloping. Lots of clean toilets. Soft drinks €3.

Great salsa location every two weeks.

The food is completely purchased generically (ready-made patties; frozen food buns) and is simply underground. Price performance is a disgrace. Service is nice and ambience is great, but the food is just a money grab

You can party there, but if it weren't for the greedy vultures and thugs, it would be nicer, you couldn't dance, it's just too crowded no matter when you visit there.

This review refers to the Sunday brunch. Unfortunately, for €30 per person, the brunch didn't convince us at all. For this price I expect high quality, tasty food and not egg powder scrambled eggs, no fried eggs, tasteless cheese & salads, cheap bacon etc. In addition there was only a small glass of orange juice without the possibility of refilling. The selection was large but unfortunately the quality was not. Only the waffle and crepes station was good. The cappuccino (costs extra) was bottomless. It was like mass processing in a package hotel. So if you just want to fill your stomach, this is the place for you. If you're expecting something tasty, then it's better to go somewhere else. It's better to offer less selection but better quality.

We were here for brunch, which costs a whopping €30. Unfortunately, we were not at all convinced by the price/performance ratio. There was a large buffet but the quality didn't convince us. The coffee at the bar was a disgrace. There was only oat milk upon request and at an additional cost; vegan options were extremely poor. When you consider that we are in the middle of Cologne and in the middle of Ehrenfeld, I find this very frightening. Especially when it advertises that vegans will be happy here. Overall, a mediocre hotel breakfast for €30. Unfortunately we won't be coming again!

I was at the Christmas market there. Very nicely done and not too crowded. There were great stalls, including homemade items and art. If you're quick, you can secure a free parking space.

New Year's party held here. It was nice, but for 35€ entrance fee??? Well, everyone has to question themselves! The "alleged gaff" from the line was inedible and everything that went out came back or was put back on the counter to be thrown away! It was everything but no Kölsch, whether it was the age of the barrel or the system is anyone's guess. Definitely a disaster! Everything that came from bottles was good, everything else (wine, sparkling wine, etc.) was subpar! We thought it would be a little better! ------------------------------------------------ Quite a nice beer garden. The clientele changes after a certain time and is then unfortunately unbearable. Then you can watch as the people flee, including us.

Der Biergarten ist wirklich schön. Die Partys bieten meist eine gute Mischung bei Publikum und Musik. Das Personal ist wirklich nett und an den Theken und beim Service stets bemüht. Der Gesamteindruck ist gut.

The alternative Christmas market always has a surprisingly good stand, this year it's the pictures by Javier Quesada Burke! Overall, I thought the atmosphere of the Christmas market was even nicer last year!

The Tonno was delicious and the rest of my friends were also happy with their food. Service was quick and good too. The benches and the seat next to the exit weren't great for a pleasant evening meal. Benches were very uncomfortable. Room was too loud. Overall it was OK for a Christmas party.

It was my first time here, super friendly service, food was delicious. Prices for the food are reasonable, the drinks, like everywhere else, are too expensive. The acoustics in the store are terrible, conversations are very limited and it's far too loud.

Waited 38 minutes before I could pay. Thanks for nothing.

Nice atmosphere, especially with its own little Christmas market in the backyard. People are completely mixed here. I'd love to come here. Food is perfectly fine.

We went to the outdoor Christmas market and drank mulled wine in a nice atmosphere.

If you are looking for a smaller, quieter and not totally overcrowded but still beautiful Christmas market, you will be happy here. Good selection of food and drinks at still decent prices. There are also other knick-knacks to buy, for gifts and such... Every year again!

Actually a pretty nice place. The food was ok. Unfortunately we were seated at a table in the hall, despite booking in advance. Strong drafts and cold there. It may be more optimal in summer. 4 stars for the outdoor Christmas market!

So far everything is ok. Also good for larger groups. I found the ambiance to be a bit bright and loud without the room being particularly crowded. The staff are friendly and attentive. Food is a bit expensive for what is on offer, even if it now corresponds to the price structure in the catering industry in general.

I ordered a goose here and picked it up. It was quick, uncomplicated and the goose was crispy and incredibly delicious, the dumplings were fluffy, the red cabbage was just right, not too sweet and not too sour and the brown sauce was rich and aromatic. Went straight from the transport basket to the table, everything was still perfectly warm. And there was enough for dinner the next day. A big thank you to the Herbrand's team!

We were there on November 11th. I was there for the first time. But I was really pleasantly surprised. Good party with great music. Drinks always came relatively quickly, the staff just weren't very good with the calculations 🙈 The snack in the location itself was really, really good. Gladly again 👍

The whole evening went great. Good music, normal crowd. But after the disco closed, it turned out at the exit that everyone had to pay 65 euros. There was no announcement about this anywhere!!! How is that possible? Entry is free, exit is chargeable????

The buffet is unique... very tasty components, varied, fresh, always refilled... the service is very accommodating... all in all: price-performance is quite consistent, look and feel very pleasant. I would have liked the sanitary facilities to be cleaned in the meantime...if every pair of glasses is wet, I don't think that's appropriate anymore...I wouldn't have even given it 2 stars towards the end of the visit. But otherwise...we had a very nice, delicious Sunday brunch, which also covered lunch.

Nice beer garden with good food at reasonable prices. The staff is nice, but there were probably only 5 tables occupied outside and it took about 10 minutes for someone to come to our table. The drinks were then brought quickly. The food is delicious but you also had to make yourself known to order.

A great diamond of a beer garden with a bar feeling, the service was top, the atmosphere was inviting, but unfortunately the food wasn't that great. I had the citizen with beef, the roll wasn't that special, the tomato in the salad was also dried out and the dressing was unfortunately rather standard, which is why I have to deduct a few stars here.

Card payment only from 15€? When I pointed out that there was no sign of this at the entrance, the service responded bluntly: “I’ll tell you now” and “it’s probably somewhere in front.” He was able to make an exception for my neighbor for €12. Super unprofessional. Either you stick to self-imposed rules and inform your guests in advance or you finally arrive in 2024. Attached is a photo of your entrance where you advertise all kinds of payment options. It says nothing about “from €15”. In the Furthermore, Visa and Mastercard prohibit a minimum transaction. Edit: to date (mid-August) no response from the operator. The guest is probably not the focus here. Too bad.

I was able to park relatively well, although I was there very early and there were already a few cars there, so I think it might be a bit more difficult later in the evening. The outdoor location looks super inviting, there's enough space and the lights are so great in the evenings. Minus point for the furnishings, after a while sitting was no longer pleasant. The food, however, was great! The prices were average and the selection of drinks was generous.

The chicken teriyaki bowl was delicious and the ingredients were really well chosen, but the teriyaki was not very tasty, which is why it only gave it 4 out of 5 stars. The beer garden has a great atmosphere and the service was excellent!

Considering the fact that the Sunday brunch also makes vegans happy, I found the selection to be pretty poor. A few vegan salads, vegan cheese on request, but it was on the plate with non-vegan cheese, and just some fruit for dessert. There was nothing at all from lunch (except rice), but the kitchen made something when we asked. I would have liked more selection and a vegan label. Ambiance was ok, it was very loud inside, so we sat outside. Solid for €30, but I wouldn't do it again.

We had a really nice evening. The drinks come quite quickly, but you should allow more time for the food. There are a lot of service staff, but they seem a bit disorganized.
