Nice place but catastrophic service

Actually nice atmosphere in the beer garden. But the food, service and technology weren't something that would make you come back. After the meal was served, it was only after a complaint about missing food that we were told that the dish wasn't available today. In addition, not all of the dishes tasted good - which the service never inquired about. Sound from the football game was a disaster because you couldn't really understand a word from the speakers, which were sometimes overdriven. It used to be better here somehow - a shame.

Great location with a beer garden. Everyone from young to old is represented. However, the younger crowd predominates, so the atmosphere is rather relaxed. The food is good for the number of dishes that go out there every day. Portions are decent. Special requests are also fulfilled.

June 2024: nice location for all kinds of events in the trendy Cologne-Ehrenfeld district. I've known Herbrand's since it opened over 30 years ago and nothing has changed. Iconic location with a beautiful outdoor area. I was there for the German national team's opening game at the opening of the 2024 European Championship... There was an entry control so that it wasn't overcrowded. Only the reservation and consumption requirement was a bit disruptive...normal prices

Went to herbrands yesterday for the European Championship game. Actually a good place, but the bartenders were terrible. SO disorganized and incompetent. Instead of someone tapping the tap all the time and preparing an Aperol for someone (because everyone knows that people drink a lot), the waitress runs from A to B and just seems lost. It just took forever to get to it.

The very last thing you do is stand at the bar, which suddenly closes even though it is packed. Never again

Doller beer garden with a good and small varied menu. Service nice and attentive. Were there for the European Championships and the staff was hopelessly overwhelmed. Even ordering beer was impossible. Food very good! It's worth going if there isn't a big event.

Very nice beer garden, sunny or shady as required, food good, staff too, a nice location also for larger groups and occasions. Tip for parking spaces: book via ampido at a nearby Lidl branch (Leyendecker Str. 2a).

Unfortunately, the reservation system for the European Championships doesn't work at all. This was the second time we had problems getting the table we had previously reserved.

Very nice and reliable employees. We were outside for the European Championship game. There was enough space for everyone. The food came quickly and was really tasty. Drinks were delivered reliably and everything was billed correctly.

Food was good, but you can't put too many tables in the beer garden if you don't have the staff to do it. But the employees were friendly

Our visit to Herbrands in Ehrenfeld yesterday was extremely disappointing. We had reserved for 5 people, but ended up being seven. Since we needed two additional seats, we looked for free chairs. While we were just standing next to our friends to explain the situation, the waiter came and yelled at us without warning. He was extremely rude and treated us disrespectfully, as if we were intentionally trying to cause inconvenience. The waiter made derogatory comments and made us feel unwelcome. Instead of a sensible solution or a kind word, we only received condescending comments. This type of treatment is unacceptable and well below the level one should expect in a restaurant. Our evening was ruined and we felt completely unwelcome. Due to this negative experience, we will certainly not be coming back and unfortunately cannot recommend Herbrands.

So ungodly unfriendly “you reserve for 10 but come with 20 people either in the hall with you or out” we weren't even 10 people there were 7 people, we were really speechless

Quite a nice beer garden. The clientele changes after a certain time and is then unfortunately unbearable. Then you can watch as the people flee, including us.

EM 2024 public viewing… rip-off + catastrophic organization. We went to the public viewing at Herbrands. They charged 20 euros for entry/minimum consumption per person (including for children) in order to bring the demonstrably bad food to the guests. The service and security staff are extremely unfriendly + no one knows anything or is responsible for anything. Waiting 1.5 hours to order a bratwurst or at half time there were no more sausages or steaks available. The organization was simply a disaster. Unfortunately a big failure good food and public viewing can be done differently and much better.

Were here for the public viewing and it was really just a rip-off. You have to pay a minimum consumption of €20 to enter but the owner doesn't provide nearly enough staff. We waited in vain for an hour at the grill station, where one person worked completely alone. Since the management already cashed in upon entry, they obviously didn't care whether there were enough staff - the incentive to sell food is of course low (because margins for drinks are significantly better). Absolute rip-off - bad for all customers and the absolutely overwhelmed staff.

Unfortunately the food was cold and the meat was dry and completely cooked. We were then asked if everything was OK? When we told them in a friendly manner what the food was like, the service became sloppy. The meat was inedible and we left it lying around. When paying, I politely let you know about the food; it was intended as constructive criticism. Unfortunately the service became sloppy again. Sorry, that doesn't work.

Wonderful Turkish cuisine, ❤️ service, good price level

It was 1/3 full. Unfortunately, our food arrived at our table with a delay. When I had already finished my tarte flambée, the schnitzel arrived for my companion, so we ate one after the other. That's a 'no go' for me! Unfortunately, the schnitzel was not well seasoned nor was it tender. But there was a delicious leffe beer on tap.

A beautiful beer garden and event location

Still an “in” pub with a huge beer garden in Ehrenfeld. A dance floor, visits included, everything that is danceable, from the 80s onwards I would say. Dreamy! The last time I was there was 30 years ago and I spontaneously felt really comfortable again.

Despite waiting half an hour and several attempts to find a waiter, we couldn't get anyone to our table and that on a Thursday evening! Then left without ordering. A pity.

Atmosphere a bit like a warehouse, service is friendly but for coffee specialties you have to ask yourself instead of the waiter coming. Water is also not included, which I personally think is a shame for the price. You can only get parking if you get there early and are lucky. I think the food is ok for someone who has no restrictions, but I would say the quality is mediocre. The positive thing is that dogs are allowed ❤️

The food is excellent, the beer garden is well laid out with shade and sun or a combination of both, sometimes it takes a while for the service to return for drinks.

We were there on Mother's Day and brunch was supposed to cost 28 euros. In the end it was 36 euros per person. I was outrageous, especially since it wasn't mentioned anywhere. The waiter said it was more expensive because it was Mother's Day and it was no better than anywhere else we would never go again and everything wasn't particularly clean outside tables weren't clean not particularly recommended

We are here again for the over 40 party. A bad day at the DJ - okay. But the fact that the transitions are getting worse every time and the selection is such that within seconds the dance floor is brought to a standstill or the majority of the guests prefer to go outside... It's no fun if you're actually here to dance. Waited for service in the restaurant for over 20 minutes, even though various employees were available but it wasn't their area. Food mediocre.

Pleasant shop in the middle of Cologne Ehrenfeld. We were all very satisfied and were able to attend the party after dinner.

Great atmosphere while dancing into May. Only the Maibowle that was announced was a bit of a disappointment; I would have expected better at Herbrands.

When I pointed out that nothing about this was visible at the entrance, the service responded bluntly: “I’ll tell you now” and “it’s probably somewhere in front.” He was able to make an exception for my neighbor for €12. Super unprofessional. Either you stick to self-imposed rules and inform your guests in advance or you finally arrive in 2024. Attached is a photo of your entrance where you advertise all kinds of payment options. It says nothing about “from €15”. In the Furthermore, Visa and Mastercard prohibit a minimum transaction.

The staff has to make sure that they give the money back and not say that everything is fine if you get some gels back. You have to give it out, you get money for the service

The service was extremely overwhelmed. Despite a reservation, our table was occupied. The plates from the people in front were only cleared away half an hour later. The drinks only 1 hour later. Chairs were always taken away due to overcrowding and we were even asked to give up a table. The waitress doesn't know where which order has to go. You can watch them walk around the whole store with the food they ordered and at the end ask each table if that was what they ordered. Absolutely awful. Then the wrong food was brought and no one came for another half hour

The Easter brunch was very good. The buffet was very plentiful and tasted great. You sit on beer benches, which I didn't really like, it was completely uncomfortable.

The food is underground. The meat of the burger is frozen (17€) and the salad dressing is out of the package. You wait in vain for a drink in the beer garden, but it's a nice place to sit. Ehrenfeld really has better to offer.

Very tasty and varied Easter brunch. The furnishings are rather "modern" and not necessarily comfortable for some age groups. Still, it was a nice experience

Great club in Cologne, I've been there several times and can only report positive things. The restaurant is good, the club with its selection of drinks and great ambience is even better! The whole thing starts at the entrance (friendly bouncers who even let you in if you're a little drunk) and ends with the end of the evening.

Delicious Sunday brunch, friendly service, acceptable prices. Only the selection of rolls - at 10.30 there was only KaroEinfach white flour - was poor.

I was there on Sunday afternoon and ordered a beef burger. Food is worth the higher price. Special praise for the fantastic service. Were welcomed directly by a competent and super accommodating waitress. Special praise because it's no longer a given these days and isn't found that often!

We came for brunch. The online menu says a quote from the chef: “Our brunch also makes vegans happy.” Unfortunately, this is not true at all. The brunch menu only includes animal milk with muesli and coffee. Oat milk must be requested separately and paid for separately. No vegan cold cuts as described in the online menu. Of the warm dishes, only dry rice was suitable for vegans. Also, only canned fruit. For the brunch I still had to pay the full price of €29.90 in addition to the extra charge for the oat milk. Won't come back. Unfortunately not recommended for vegans.

Beautiful event location with a very large room. The parties are sometimes more and sometimes less good, depending on the event. The location is great. The restaurant is also really ok and the inner courtyard is large and beautifully designed

We haven't eaten here yet but the parties here are great. The audience is diverse and the atmosphere is very pleasant. There is also a lot of space here and you always have small corners to retreat to, even at a celebration, so you can talk in private.

We were there for a carnival standing party. Very nicely decorated with bar tables and chairs. The staff served us very nicely. Good music from a Belgian band

Big and spacious restaurant with a good selection of food and drinks. I opted for the risotto from the seasonal card which was delicious. Also tried the soup which was delicious . Service is fast and the waitress is always checking on you. Bathrooms were not the cleanest. Given we were therr on a saturday evening, it was quite packed and lively but also loud.

Tolle Location mit diversen dancefloors. Silversterfeier dort war super organisiert und die DJ's haben toll aufgelegt. Komme gerne wieder.

Würde keinen Stern geben wenn ich könnte. Mir wurde keine Stempelkarte beim Eingang gegeben, nach Ende des Besuchs wurde mir gesagt dass ich 35€ Strafe zahlen müsse. Es wurde 0,0 darauf eingegangen, dass ich die Wahrheit sage - was man auch auf Videomaterial sehen würde. Würde ich niemals empfehlen

Im Rahmen der betrieblichen Weihnachtsfeier waren wir im Herbrands. Tolle Location für Veranstaltungen, Essen war gut und nette Menschen im Service. Zum Restaurant kann ich nicht viel sagen, aber ich vermute dass die Küche genauso gut ist wie das Buffet.

Der Weihnachtsmarkt auf dem Biergartengelände mit einladenden Buden und schönen handwerklichen Angeboten ist für einen vorweihnachtlichen Besuch sehr zu empfehlen. Mein bestelltes Essen, Salat ohne Fleischkomponente für 17,50€, war hingegen mehr als ernüchternd. Von dem mir angebotenen Mehr Salat als Fleischersatz (Sh.Foto) war nichts zu erkennen. Meine Rückfrage diesbezüglich blieb ohne Resonanz. Die zugehörigen Bratkartoffel waren nicht ausreichend gebraten und weich. Daher ist der Service und die Kommunikation zw Gast und Küche m. E. Mangelhaft . Schade da ich mit einem Stück Schafskäse oder Falafel als Alternative bestimmt zufrieden gewesen wäre. Wurde mir aber nicht angeboten!

Waren anlässlich des Weihnachtsmarkts im Herbrands und haben im Restaurant etwas gegessen. Die Karte ist überschaubar, aber unsere Burger waren lecker und nett angerichtet. Bedienung sehr freundlich, Kölsch zum korrekten Preis.

Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis beim Brunch .

Hatten Betriebs- Wheinachtsfeier und waren insgesamt 16 Personen. Mussten sehr lange auf das Essen warten, es wurde über eine halbe Stunde nacheinander Serviert, konnten nicht mal zusammen essen. Die Bedienung konnte leider keine Korkenzieher richtig benutzen und das Besteck wurde in der Mitte des Tisches einfach durcheinander hingelegt.

Trotz vollem Haus, konnten wir spontan noch einen Tisch bekommen, das war auch schon der beste Teil des Abends. Der Service war sehr bemüht, auf Kritik am Essen wurde allerdings mit Schweigen reagiert. Das Essen war bestenfalls Bistro-Niveau. Die Gans ist mindestens 3 mal gestorben, bevor sie auf dem Teller gelandet ist. Knödel, Salatdressing, Rotkohl waren vermutlich aus der Konserve; der Burger ohne Käse und insgesamt nicht sonderlich aufregend. Einzig gut waren die Crisper Pommes. Die 55 Euro für 2 Personen inkl. Getränke hätte ich lieber wo anders investieren sollen.

Wurden schnell und freundlich mit Schnaps bedient . Das Essen war super und wurde fix serviert.

Burger ohne Käse und eine ungenießbar trockene Ente mit Tüten Knödeln... Dann moniert man das Essen und wird schlicht ignoriert. Top Service ... Nicht

Ambiente ist wirklich nett. Bedienung auch freundlich. Essen war bei mir naja. Pommes kalt, Burger ok. Vielleicht war es auch nur zu voll. Der Weihnachtsmarkt ist niedlich.

Ich bevorzuge definitiv die Sommerzeit im Herbrands. Dann kann man schön draußen sitzen im Biergarten... im Winter drinnen ist ser Geräuschpegel schon unangenehm... Beim Essen sollte man mehr auf die Kleinigkeiten achten, es werden oft die Beilagen vergessen... schade...

Bewertung bezieht sich auf den Herbrand's Weihnachtsmarkt......sehr süss...klein....übersichtlich und alles da....Bratwurst....Glühwein....Waffel....uvm....Beleuchtung top....es gibt auch eine Wohnsitzgelegenheit...

Eigentlich tolles Lokal bzw. Biergarten. Wenn die Getränke nicht so oft so lange dauern würden. Das Personal ist super freundlich und der Ort perfekt für Kinder.

Sehr üppiges Frühstücksbuffett (auch vegetarisch). Begrüssungsgetränk ( O-Saft), Kaffee und Tee incl., alle anderen Getränke kostenpflichtig. Super ist die Waffel und Crepesstation. Mittags gibt es dann noch warmes Buffet.
