Max Enk in Leipzig

Bei opentable wurde mir Max Enk als eines der besten Restaurants in der Nähe des Leipziger Hauptbahnhofs empfohlen. Die Bilder und die Beschreibung dort überzeugten mich den Weg trotz Hitze auf mich zu nehmen. Ich wurde mehr als belohnt! Toller aufmerksamer Service, großartiges Essen, angenehme Atmosphäre! Mein Wunsch nach etwas schnellerer Zubereitung des Essens (auf Durchreise mit 60 Minuten Zeit vor Ort) wurde respektiert und sehr gut eingehalten trotz eines voll belegten Innenhofs heute Abend! Das Essen wird mit viel Sinn für Ästhetik und Gewürze zubereitet und serviert, s. das Erdbeer-Tiramisu auf dem Foto als Beispiel. Volle Empfehlung für einen Abend "vornehmen Stils", wie es auf dem Aushängeschild von Max Eck am Eingang heißt :-) p.s. ich kann manche Kommentare und dazugehörige Bewertungen hier nicht ganz nachvollziehen - alles super, aber Gesamtnote 3,5?

Wir haben gestern den Gutschein eingelöst welchen wir von den Kindern geschenkt bekommen haben. Super nette Bedienung, sehr aufmerksam; sehr schmackhaftes Essen, ein Erlebnis. Gerne empfehlen wir Sie Weiter.

Wir besuchten an zwei Tagen abends das Restaurant, Am ersten Abend war alles sehr stimmig und die servierten Speise sehr fein. Am zweiten Abend jedoch war der Service so nachlässig und überfordert und hektisch das es keine Freude machte länger als erforderlich zu bleiben. Der bestellte Nachtisch wurde nicht serviert bzw.. unser Wunsch wurde nicht weitergeleitet - sollte eigentlich bei den Preisen im Lokal nicht vorkommen. Eine Flasche Sprudelwasser in der Karaffe (denke aus der Siphonflasche) 7,50 finde ich wirklich sehr unverschämt. Schade wir wären auch noch am dritten Abend Gast gewesen!!!

Jeg var den 27. maj 2025 på restaurant Max Enk for første gang. Jeg bestilte det tjeneren foreslog. Et stykke mørt gennemstegt oksesteg, det var aldeles perfekt. Sovsen dertil kunne ikke være bedre. Jeg fik også dessert, en Crème Brûlée dertil en espresso. Jeg har spist langt dyrere, men aldrig har jeg fået noget bedre og veltillavet mad. Ikke nok med det, men betjeningen var første klasses. Jeg ærgrer mig over det var min sidste aften i Leipzig, for ellers var jeg kommer der flere gange. Min aller varmeste tak for oplevelsen. Håber andre ser min anmeldelse og prøver Max Enk.

We were there for dinner. The food was fantastic and the advice was good too. But the more crowded the place became, the louder it became. Unfortunately, the noise level was reminiscent of a train station hall. That definitely needs to be changed. Otherwise it's worth eating there!

You immediately notice how well thought out the entire concept is - from the ambience to the menu. We have been here a total of four times so far. The staff is extremely friendly, open and professional. The food is high quality, creative and prepared with great sensitivity. Each plate carefully composed. The wines are all top! A real culinary highlight for us - every time! 100 percent recommendation!

Das Ambiente mag strittig sein, wirkt vielleicht etwas unterkühlt. Von der ersten Ansprache bis zur Verabschiedung war das sehr professionell, zwar ein junges Team, aber ohne Fehl und Tadel. Das Essen begann mit einer Brotauswahl und Butter/Frischkäseaufstrich, danach ein sehr intensiv gut schmeckender Gruß aus der Küche. Ich hatte dann das Parmesansüppchen und das Filet mit Gemüse und Kartoffeln. Dazu ein Spanischer Roter, richtig temperiert. Abschluss Espresso und Grappa. Ich habe tatsächlich nichts zu meckern gehabt...

Home cooking finely implemented and very attentive service. One point deducted from the food for the price-performance ratio (starters €22 with a manageable cost of goods). If you charge €19 for a glass of wine, it would be nice if you were presented with the bottle and the wine was poured at your seat.

You have to visit Max Enk if you live in Leipzig. It's definitely not the cheapest restaurant but the price is worth it. Waiters very nice, very upscale furnishings, food very tasty. No criticism! Recommend it!

Hats off... unfortunately not to the service. But from the beginning: We enter the Max Enk full of anticipation for fine dining and a lovely evening. In the wardrobe, an employee watches me in amusement as I search in vain for a place to put my hat. Shelf or hat hook: none. When I asked for help, he replied that he wasn't interested. The evening is actually already over. After further unsuccessful attempts to place the good accessory from the Leipzig hatter somewhere, I am asked to simply place it on the narrow board above the guests dining below. I usually never reveal the end of a story, but I do here: I leave the restaurant that evening with a felt hat completely covered. (Of course it fell between the feet of the guests sitting underneath) That evening, the same waiter gradually brought us our courses from the Max Enk menu. He can't give any information, he simply doesn't know what's on the plates. The two of us will pay 300 euros for this evening with wine accompaniment but what we eat remains a secret. When I asked, the same waiter brought the menu and everything was there. We are polite and keep looking and reading. Meanwhile, our waiter is talking to the next table about football. He knows his stuff there. The wine accompaniment is a consolation. The lady for this part masters her craft with flying colors. Delightfully professional and knowledgeable. But now to the courses: Tom Essrich's bread is excellent. The Leipzig Bakery is an authority when it comes to sourdough. The greeting from the kitchen: Venison boulette on turnip is a small work of art. The following Consume is bursting with power and leaves you wanting more. The bland tartare next to an unseasoned salad is all the more disappointing. Was the dressing forgotten here? Many reviews have already said that the excellently fried pike perch doesn't go well with sauerkraut at all. The black pudding, on the other hand, suggests creativity. The saddle of venison makes up for things, but in the end the dessert tears everything down again. Sour lemon sorbet with sour plums in watery plum juice - how does that go with the wonderfully bittersweet hot chocolate cake? Is it from Chocolatie Prätsch? Combine the fruit juice and season it finely, replace the sour sorbet to soften it... there's something that could be done. So there remains hope for a good espresso, which they manage to achieve - luckily. But where do I get my hat cleaned now? And why do you get so bad service for 300 euros? Max Enk must know; according to the waiter, he would have shot the deer on the plate himself, or was it a buck?

Schön, dass es das noch gibt! Engagierte Leute im Service und eine exzellente Küchenmannschaft. Mit einer geschickten Aufteilung der Aufgaben gelingt eine perfekte Betreuung des Gastes. Angesichts der Qualität der Materialien, der perfekten Zubereitung, tritt der nicht so schöne Eindruck des leider fensterlosen Speisesaals zurück. Grosses Kino.

We chose this restaurant because of the many positive reviews. The service was very attentive and we were very happy with the starter (tuna tartare). The intermediate course (truffle pasta) was tasty, but nothing special. Unfortunately, I didn't like my main course (zander fillet with sauerkraut). The acidity of the herb masked everything, the intense herb flavor was found in every component of the dish. When I was clearing the still almost full plate, I was asked if it wasn't tasty. When I answered (that the dish might just not be to my taste), the waitress replied that most of the guests felt the same way. That surprised me a bit. My partner was happy with his main course (venison loin).

Nach guten Erfahrungen im Sommer auf der Terrasse, wollten wir als Abschluss einer Leipzig-Reise einen schönen Abend mit Freunden genießen. Leider war der Tisch für die 7-köpfige Gruppe so unglücklich ausgewählt, dass eine gemeinsame Unterhaltung kaum möglich war. Unsere Bitte, den angefügten zweiten Tisch zu entfernen und statt dessen, die siebte Person am Tischende zu platzieren, wurde vom Restaurantleiter strikt abgelehnt mit der Begründung, das gehe nicht. Unser Lösungsvorschlag wurde barsch zurückgewiesen. Enttäuscht haben wir dann auf das eigentlich geplante Menü verzichtet und nur ein Hauptgericht bestellt. Die empfohlene Kalbszunge war schmackhaft, musste aber von allen drei Bestellern nachgewürzt werden. Die Wiener Schnitzel hingegen ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig, da das Fleisch extrem dünn war, während der "Kartoffelsalat" aus dicken Kartoffelstücken bestand. Die Panade eines Schnitzels war sogar auf der Rückseite verbrannt. Der bestellte Espresso kam auch nicht, was dann der krönende Abschluss war.

The service started well, the menu was interesting and promising. Unfortunately, neither could be met. The food was of a good standard, but (except for the steak and the Wiener Schnitzen) fell well short of expectations. The cheese platter at €17 was far too expensive for my taste (quantity and quality), and the cherry schnapps at €8 wasn't worth the money either. Wine prices were ok. At the beginning of the service there were at least 3 different, very nice people. In the end you had to wait a bit until someone came. But everyone was really nice.

Very good upper middle class restaurant. Very friendly service. The food is very good, but not as good as the prices would suggest. Unfortunately, there is a small gap in the price-performance ratio. The portions were a bit large for a multi-course meal, so that in the end you couldn't eat much more. It's not the end of the world, but the finishing touches are missing for a top restaurant. Still definitely worth a visit.

A culinary break that is worth every cent! During our spontaneous visit to Leipzig we were looking for a place of peace and found exactly that on the beautiful terrace of the Max Enk. Our experience began with a perfectly chilled bottle of white wine from the Saxony region. The service? The cuisine impresses with honest, sophisticated dishes with a clear focus on regional ingredients. Particularly noteworthy is the in-house meat from the aging cabinet, a must for all lovers of high-quality cuts. But the menu also offers an excellent selection for other culinary delights. A restaurant is only as good as the team behind it - and here you can immediately tell that the atmosphere is right. A big compliment to the management and the entire team. We'll definitely be back!

Wir waren zum abendessen dort und waren sehr zufrieden.ausgezeichnetes abendessen, guter, offener wein (Der riesling ) Und sehr netter service. Das preis-leistungsverhaeltnis stimmt. I reserved a table at this restaurant in hopes of getting a special meal. Unfortunately this restaurant is way too expensive for the quality and quantity of food you get. There are different servers for the drinks and the food. So if one of them came, you could only order either drinks or food and had to wait a while longer to complete your order. It’s not really efficient to be honest. In a place like this, I expect them to make an effort to also offer alcohol free options and I’m not talking about juices. This was a big difficulty for them to offer when asked. The outside area is really nice to sit in but it is not worth the price.

Mein Freund und ich waren Abends im Max Enk essen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und haben uns für einen Tisch auf dem schönen Freisitz entschieden. Uns wurde ein leckerer Aperitif empfohlen - eine sehr köstliche Erdbeerbowle. Wir haben uns einmal für das Max Menü und einmal für die vegetarische Variante entschieden. Außerdem haben wir dazu die passende Weinempfehlung genommen. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. So hatten wir einen tollen Abschluss von unserem Urlaub in Leipzig.

Another very entertaining evening at Max Enk. Every single course was delicious. We were accompanied by an outstandingly good service. The staff knows their job. Good advice, always on hand quickly, competent with a good “eye” for the guest. We were completely satisfied and would definitely be happy to come back.

We had great expectations before visiting Max Enk. The start was promising, service at the beginning and starters were great. For the main course we had a braised dish that did not meet our expectations. The meat was far too tough for a piece of beef that had reportedly been braised for days. What was more serious, however, was the increasingly noticeable lack of enthusiasm in the further service, which culminated in an empty bottle of wine being quietly cleared away without any further requests being asked. We almost felt like we were being forced out about an hour and a half before closing time (tables were loudly being rearranged and cleared two hours before closing time) and we were only “allowed” to order more wine after being informed accordingly. Admittedly it was very good. Nevertheless, the bottom line was unfortunately only a slightly above-average overall impression.

The restaurant completely convinced us! Great service, great ambience and great food. I was particularly impressed by the attentiveness of the staff after I mentioned that I eat gluten-free. I was given very good advice and didn't have the feeling at all that it was a challenge. The food was of top quality and well prepared, we enjoyed it very much. And above all: we arrived hot. Not many restaurants can do that. We definitely recommend Max Enk and would be happy to come back!

Yesterday evening the two of us spontaneously went to Max Enk for dinner. Even without a reservation, we received a friendly welcome and were given a table. This was followed by an evening of the very finest. The food was a dream, starter, intermediate course, main course and dessert. Incredible. A pleasure and in our opinion a great price-performance ratio. The only thing that topped the meal was the service that was unbeatable. Friendly, courteous, attentive, always a smile on your face, always a nice saying on your lips. Unbeatable. We were simply thrilled and weren't there for the last time. The ambience is certainly not for everyone, but we really liked that too. Thanks to the entire Max Enk team.

We came here on the recommendation of friends. Nice decor and nice ambience. The enormous ceiling height creates an enormous background noise. Too loud for our taste. In addition, the heat had built up significantly in the guest room that evening. That's why we left the restaurant immediately after the main course. Unfortunately, the combination of the volume and the temperature made it a not so pleasant experience for us. All the rest, which was not insignificant, was positive…. The food was delicious and the service was very attentive, friendly and quick.

Treated myself to the 5 course menu. In fact the bread did not seem so fresh. Halibut tartare was good, with a little salad and sauce. Lobster bisque was thin but had a piece of lobster in the raviolo. I don’t think mango is a good flavour for a sorbet palate cleanser.Duck breast was a whole breast, too much, but rhubarb with it was delicious and unusual. Dessert was a very solid parfait, not sure what flavour, with a strange assortment of chocolate soil, apricot pieces, creamy sauce. Sachsen Rose wine was good. It was a warm evening so dinner was served on the terrace.

See above. As a starter I had a kind of Saxon Wagyu Maultaschen with ratatouille and as a main course I had “boulettes” with sweet potatoes, which was absolutely delicious. Good wine recommendation with it. Staff very friendly.

We spontaneously looked for a restaurant to eat and had a lucky break. Very friendly and entertaining service, excellent and educational wine advice and selection and very tasty, regionally inspired food in both the vegetarian and max menu. Absolute recommendation!

Very fine dishes served by attentive staff in an impressive ambience. Nothing more is possible on a Saturday evening in Leipzig. Tip Crepes Suzette and the great wine list.

We have been here several times and it has always been perfect. The menu is fresh, varied, regional and delicious. Worth every euro. A great wine list and the friendly, very professional service are also convincing. Complaints are also handled in an absolutely professional manner, things can go wrong, but there is no discussion here but rather an extremely accommodating manner. We'll definitely be back soon.

Nice location, Friendly staff, Relaxed atmosphere, is away from the tourist traps, Very good and varied lunch menu. Use of fresh ingredients and the best spices. It was the best lunch location for us and we will come back. A downer was the high price for the carafe of water, especially if you had a lunch menu with wine.

Aufgrund guter Rezensionen und der Nähe zu unserem Hotel reservierten wir hier einen Tisch. Wir bestellten Vitello und Steak Tatar als Vorspeise. Danach zum Hauptgang Lammlachs und Trüffelnudeln. Die Vorspeisen waren sehr gut, der Lammlachs auch aber die Trüffelnudeln unterirdisch. Die Spaghetti lagen in einer wässrigen Sauce mit Spinat und Ei. Ungewürzt und mit sehr klein geraspelten Trüffeln obendrauf. Geschmackserlebnis gleich null. Als Entschädigung wurde mir ein Glas Champagner offeriert. Auf das Dessert hatten wir keine Lust mehr. Noch eine Anmerkung zur Location und zum Service. Die Räumlichkeit ist fensterlos, Licht kommt nur von oben. Ambiente speziell und die Holzstühle unbequem und ohne Auflagen. Auch die grauen Abtrennungen fürchterlich. Sind das noch Überbleibsel von Corona? Der Service sehr durchwachsen, wir haben die herzliche Gastgeberschaft vermisst.

This worthwhile culinary address in Leipzig is somewhat hidden in the center of the city. Food and drinks are served at a high level with unobtrusive, international and friendly service. The offer fits perfectly with the historic guest room and the regional cuisine can be found between the restaurant and the star kitchen. Preheated plates would be desirable. If you come early, you will be the focus of the well-trained service, which drops off a bit when the restaurant is full.

Must try the truffle pasta and the desserts out there. Since I have tried all of them, I would warn people with diabetes. Still do not miss out , it is a really great place for a nice evening. It is a great dining experience

Another very pleasant evening at Max Enk. The large dining room is loud, but also intimate, as the tables are far apart. Greetings from the kitchen with meat, which surprised us a bit, were immediately swapped for the vegetarian at the table. Otherwise impeccable service, someone is always there, perfect timing and competent information about the wine list. The food was simply delicious and we were very satisfied throughout.
