The citizens offered are more or less similar. In terms of taste, this is just below average. More expensive than other, better community stores. You can't taste any of the alcohol in the cocktails. Only tastes like juice/cola (depending on what you order). In terms of price, like the citizens, the cocktails are expensive and, considering that there was little alcohol in them (was there any in them at all?), far too expensive. Ambience is of course cool. But as a guest I read so many rules of conduct on how I should behave 🙈 typically German😅

I know diners from America and I have to say that this diner impressed me. The selection is plentiful and tastes really great. With heart and love in the preparation. Thumbs up and keep it up.

The burgers are a disaster! There were four of us and we each ate burgers. Three normal-sized 200g, one 500g. In all of them the buns were dry and cold and the paddy was cooked absolutely to death. Gray, dry minced meat, not a drop of juice left in it - disappointing! And in a diner. Every McDonalds burger is juicier.

Actually 6 out of 5 stars! The ambience is simply amazing - it couldn't be more American. The staff is in a good mood, super friendly and always attentive. What was particularly nice was that our little dog was there, and one by one everyone from the team came over to greet him. There was even a special “dog menu”! A huge thank you for this great evening. We'll definitely be back!

Typical American feast, a change from Greek, Chinese and Co. The dishes were great, there is enough choice for everyone, including vegetarians/vegans. The ladies are very, very friendly, extremely professional and the atmosphere there is first class. An absolute must visit for anyone who likes American food. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. The food was disappointing and did not live up to expectations. In addition, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The building is getting old and urgently needs renovation. What was particularly annoying were the excessive prices, which in no way corresponded to the quality offered. However, the staff should be highlighted positively: The service was nice and friendly, which unfortunately couldn't save the overall impression. Overall, there are significantly better alternatives in this price range. Sorry, but it's my personal opinion.

After a concert at Haus Auensee, we took the opportunity to have something to eat here. We had also pre-booked a table. If you don't show up, you'll be charged a no-show fee of 15 euros per person - a bit iffy in a diner! Well, there were all of us ;-) According to the unanimous opinion of our group of six, the food was nothing special. The burger buns were quite dry, almost crumbly. What I found much worse was the grilled burger pattie. That was really annoying because there was no enjoyment. The clear plastic tablecloth was sticky. The prices were quite steep for that (great cooking - which I'm happy to pay for, a burger really doesn't require anything, except maybe the pattie, which was far too dry). However, the service was very quick and friendly, for that 5 stars. My rating goes against the trend, sorry, but that's exactly how I experienced it!

As always beautiful. Prices have increased. Innovation: If you don't show up when a table has been booked, you have to pay 15 euros as compensation.

The following review reflects our subjective impressions: Our visit was requested by a child who had a request for a restaurant, liked eating burgers and wanted to try a restaurant that was unknown to us. We arrived at 5 p.m. with 9 people (4 adults, 4 children under 8, 1 baby; a holiday Thursday in February) and had reserved well in advance. I can't say anything in detail about the reservation because it was taken over by other people in the group. Since the children were still storming the playground, we were about 10 minutes late - but the restaurant was still almost empty. It was only at this point that we were informed that we only had the table until 7 p.m. (i.e. 2 hours) and that the next guests would then need it. From this point onwards, the pleasantly planned gourmet evening was over and we were stressed. Eating out with small children is generally a challenge - even more so when there is a time limit. The tone of the service also seemed rather rough to us, in a less charming way. We felt rushed. The menu and the selection were ok for us, there are various children's menus. We see the prices in the upper midfield. The issue of drinks was problematic: the children's menus contained a small barrel of soda. However, if children don't like these, then most other drinks suitable for children can only be ordered from 0.5l. While they waited, the children were given pens and something to color in. The orders were served quickly, which is the most positive aspect of the evening. The food was ok, solid in quality and taste - but not a revelation. Eating out, which was supposed to be a small celebration for us, was not very enjoyable due to the time pressure. As parents, we have to feed, motivate the children to eat, mediate and maintain general order before we can eat ourselves. It's difficult to do this comfortably in 120 minutes (including arriving, choosing, ordering, waiting, eating, various trips to the toilet, getting dressed, paying). At 6:45 p.m. we were finally informed that we should pay and leave within the next 10 minutes. Not everyone had finished eating and drinking yet. That's just how it is with children and should have a place in a dinner in a diner. Actually, some people would have liked a dessert and/or hot drink, but that was now cancelled. Chewing and gulping down the remaining drinks that were almost full, we got dressed and cleared the field. Apparently the table had been reassigned for exactly 7 p.m. because the next guests were already waiting. [If we make a reservation for 5 p.m. and have 2 hours to spare, but the table is given away again at 7 p.m. - at what point is the clearing and cleaning scheduled?] We felt literally thrown out and scared away. This was not the beautiful experience we imagined for the wishing child and society. For us, personally, the price-performance ratio wasn't right.

We were there for a birthday dinner. The ambience takes you straight to the USA. The food selection is plentiful and the burgers are spot on. The original cheesecake was the crowning glory of the evening. Reservations are strongly recommended. The staff was super polite. We'd love to come back!

In general it was a really nice visit and I would definitely come back. The drinks just tasted good and you really couldn't complain. My problem, however, was the chili con carne, which firstly tasted very salty and was sometimes closer to bean soup than chili. Still a really great visit and I'm looking forward to the next time.

It was our first time here in this new location, but we already knew the diner. Overall, it was a very nice evening for our "extended family", the atmosphere is absolutely appealing, the dishes were very tasty and were stylishly prepared and served. Being on first name terms with the operators might be a bit strange for some people, but I think it's cool. The children were immediately provided with painting materials. There are still 2 points of criticism - therefore one star less for the service: It is not okay that you are not allowed into the restaurant with a stroller. If the dining room is overcrowded, you can point this out in person, but prohibition signs? What is absolutely impossible is the threat of a €15 fine if one of the reserved seats remains vacant. This has never happened to me at any other American diner.

The negative point is the really high price for simple food. The quality is good, but doesn't justify the price. The atmosphere is cool, the service is very nice and quick.

We ordered two surprise menus. It was super tasty and they were served up great by the chef. The other burgers were of course also highly recommended. It was very entertaining and we also had a nice conversation with the boss, Jana. We'll be back.

The ambience in the Janis American Diner is divided into two parts: downstairs you feel like you're in a typical diner, but the upper area is more reminiscent of a Texas roadhouse. For food: We ordered a 0.5l cola, 5 drumsticks and a baked potato. Unfortunately, with a total price of €24.20, no side dishes were included, not even a small salad or something similar. We find this disappointing given the high prices (5 drumsticks €10.60, 1 baked potato €8.50, 0.5l cola €5.10). The drumsticks were simple chicken thighs dipped in barbecue sauce. While the sauce was quite tasty, the chicken inside was unfortunately quite tasteless and tough. The baked potato was about the size of a hand and filled with sour cream, although the portions weren't exactly generous either. However, the cola was perfect. Overall, I wouldn't visit the restaurant again because I just wasn't impressed with the taste. But tastes are different – ​​you have to know…

Cool atmosphere and we were really pleasantly surprised. Really good for a restaurant on a campsite. Many guests also come here from outside the campsite. We recommend making a reservation for the evening as it is really busy. We were served very friendly and children are also welcome here and given something to paint/play with. Dogs get a cozy cushion on the floor and you can even order a dog menu, our four-legged friend pounced on it. Our food was also delicious and there were some very cool/unusual dishes and drinks. However, the prices are tough, so a star deduction.

One of the best diners I've ever visited. The service is extremely friendly, very humorous and open. You feel like you're at home! Even though we were there an hour before closing time, we weren't served hastily or quickly "eaten breakfast". There were 2 of us and we each ordered the mixed platter and burger. Both were hot, crunchy and fresh. The prices are very fair for the pirtion sizes. Drinks range from 0.5L to 1.8L What I was missing was a little more “diner” feeling in the form of 50s/60s music 👍🏻 We'll definitely be back! 🫶 Own opinion: Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the normal fries; they could have been a little crispier.

We were satisfied and can't say anything negative about our visit. Everyone was friendly and took a healthy interest in our well-being. The food was delicious (cheeseburger) and came quickly. The cheese fries weren't that convincing for me (especially with a price increase of €3.xx?). Next time I'd like to try different ones. The online reservation was also very easy, as was the processing of it. The price is already more expensive...

I was traveling to Leipzig for work and was there for the first time but definitely not the last time... The whole ambience blew me away and then the food... top class!!!! Highly recommended!!!!

Great food, top value for money, really typically American. The decoration is really impressive. The onion rings come on a mini grill. Here, people were and are really racking their brains about how to make a visit a special experience for young and old. We have eaten here several times. Always full, we always had reservations. Paying with a piece of paper and a number at the cash register in front is also a cool thing. You get up and move forward. Nobody can leave without paying and the staff doesn't have to collect. This saves time and money and is also very hygienic. Many and and see you soon!

Finally!! Did we manage to go to the diner? I'm a big USA fan, even though I've never been to the States. I was so happy to finally be there, it's so cool. You are welcomed so warmly and immediately addressed as “you”, which creates a relaxed atmosphere. The lady at the entrance and our waitress were very nice, spoke happily and answered all questions. I had a little Dr. Pepper ordered, um I looked at the waitress, well that's big and she said the big one is 1.8l. Americans like it big 😁The food was a hit, Mac N' Cheese was very tasty for the first time, only the portion was too big for me, the onion rings, the breading was delicious, the Nutella shake was my favorite, the American Mint was Minty for me 😁 I also got an original Jani's Diner Collage jacket 🤗 We feel very comfortable with you and would be happy to come back. We were at the campsite for a week. Me and my dog ​​felt very comfortable there. Everything is really done for the dog. I've never seen a special menu for dogs either. The food is also great as is the service.

Service is handled quite well. Food looks great and tastes great too. The kitchen does a good job. It's a bit hidden, but once you find it, the location is even better because you have peace and quiet. The prices are quite high.

This place surprised me. Very Americana inside the diner. Good burgers.

The ambience was all ok. The service also friendly. I remembered the food a little differently at another branch. But the chicken parts were good, the burger was unfortunately only lukewarm, but it was hot outside, so it was ok, but the quesedillas weren't great in terms of price-performance ratio. Portion too small and more filling salad. Otherwise you can eat and drink there, and just look for classic things on the menu.

We had dinner with a group of 11 people. The waitress was already overwhelmed with the drinks order and so it dragged on through the evening. I had the 500g spare ribs, the meat was dry and the potatoes too. At the end we had to have them I also have to pay for drinks that were brought incorrectly. So my conclusion is that I don't have to have that again.

Thank you for lovingly organizing a 66th birthday in a suitable Route66 environment. The 11 family members of three generations ate the dishes, including the surprising ones, with great appetite. Already during the previous discussion of the details, anticipation could be felt on both sides.

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner without a reservation. Upon request, we were assigned a free table. The service was friendly, quick and courteous. Our dogs were also given special attention: they were immediately given water and there was even an extra dog card, from which we also ordered something for the two bullies. But it wasn't just the four-legged friends who enjoyed it - our food was delicious, plentiful and authentic. We were completely satisfied with our visit and would like to come back.

We've been coming here for a while and it's always delicious, from the burger to the starter platter and the spare ribs, especially the cheesecake is my favorite dessert (all homemade)!!! You'll regret it by the time you get to dessert! Conclusion: it was absolutely delicious, we were stuffed (there is no other way to describe it) and completely satisfied. And yes, you'll have to bring a little more money with you than you would for the golden M, but it's worth it!!! Keep it up and gladly again. Oh yes - whoever reserves is smart!

We were looking forward to the evening. We arrive and see 5 reserved tables and also a few free tables on the terrace. Had reserved with the request to get a table on the terrace. We registered at the registration desk as clearly communicated on the signs. Harsh statement from the lady behind the counter: We should get a table inside, you can't make a reservation on the terrace (which wasn't included in the reservation). When we asked and pointed out that several tables were reserved on the terrace and that there were also tables available, she rudely assigned us a table on the terrace. It's a shame when you treat the customer like that and they are lied to when they arrive. Food was okay, all in all we won't visit the diner again.

We went to Janis Diner today with really excited anticipation. Unfortunately we were bitterly disappointed. Apart from the fact that the ambience and food were ok (but by no means special), the service left absolutely a lot to be desired. Rarely have we been treated so unkindly and felt downright uncomfortable while eating. It all started with the fact that, according to the waiter, no “extra requests” were possible - just to put it in perspective - there were two salads on the menu: the Caesars Salad and a Health Salad. With the second one you could add various ingredients (including chicken). When asked, it was impossible to add the chicken to the Caesar salad. I certainly understand that complex changes don't always work for a busy kitchen - but this? After we had swallowed our anger about it, the highlight came. We asked if it was possible for another person to sit down for a few minutes/for a drink. This was emphatically denied. A friend of ours still brought a gift over and only sat down for two!!! Minutes to join us on the bench (we weren't planning on doing this for longer). We really didn't bother anyone or anything like that. And now comes the highlight: the owner herself ran up to our table and started yelling at us about how we were breaking her bank and this was HER restaurant. I have never experienced such a tone and aggressiveness in a restaurant before. We also gave the feedback from this review in peace while walking, but here too it was dismissed in an unfriendly manner. Customer service is a foreign word in this restaurant and we will definitely not be coming back - €140 was completely wrongly invested.

Typical American burger restaurant. We don't think it's suitable for a campsite, a lot of campers come here from Holland, Sweden, Denmark, etc., mostly just passing through. Then only offering American food is very poor. A restaurant with a variety of dishes and good international cuisine would be more appropriate. We found the price/performance ratio for the food and drinks to be very excessive. What was particularly negative was the behavior of the boss towards her employee and a guest, very rude and cheeky, that's not how you treat your employee and guest in front of the guests, even if a mistake is made by the employees and the guests . We were totally shocked and stunned. We will avoid this totally out of place restaurant in the future and hope that the operator, Knaus Campingpark, will rethink the concept of this restaurant. The lady complained about the lack of staff and she should think about why that might be, if she doesn't want to be alone in the restaurant one day, then she would have to change fundamentally.

10 points for the extremely friendly and good-humored service. We were there on a weekday evening and everything was stress-free. We had ribs that were completely convincing. The homemade iced tea and the house beer were also great. Overall, a really nice evening that deserves repeating!

Nice American diner, the interior is even very authentic. The prices are ok but not cheap. The service is great for that. All wishes will be granted. We've been here for breakfast and, of course, often for dinner too. Through the campsite next door you can occasionally discover bizarre guys from all over Germany ;)

A colorfully furnished diner with a large terrace. There is a lot to discover inside and outside. The service was super friendly and quick. The food came quickly and looked delicious, which is how it tasted. The starters with a mix plate and nachos with pulled pork were very tasty and enough for 4 people to share. The main course was burgers, and all four of them were good. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with my milkshake after seeing such beautifully decorated ones in other reviews. Unfortunately mine was a bit bland with a raffaelo on whipped cream. Later it became quite crowded on the terrace and unfortunately that was noticeable. The waitress who brought us the shakes couldn't bring me any water or take my order and referred her to her colleague, who was so busy collecting and allocating tables. There was no time for our order. Too bad. Nevertheless, we had a lovely evening and can recommend the diner.
