Mati Halle in Halle (Saale)

We always like to go here, the food is tasty and plentiful, the staff is very friendly and tries to serve quickly despite the restaurant being full, which has always worked so far. We order in advance by phone on weekends or public holidays, so we always get a table. During the week there is a lunch menu, smaller, cheaper dishes, you will still be full and everything is freshly prepared.

The food was okay and came quickly. Recommended!

I was looking forward to a nice evening and unfortunately I was very disappointed, we were served the wrong food and then we sat for two hours with empty glasses. After we expressed our displeasure, we were told succinctly that we saw something going on here is. This is not how I imagined a relaxing visit to your restaurant.

A department store used to be housed here, which meant that the guest room could be designed to be very spacious, open and “airy”. Together with the bright choice of colors and good lighting, it is fun to sit here. The staff is friendly and doesn't allow themselves to be stressed, even though the restaurant is always busy. Unfortunately it doesn't seem very organized. It can happen that you are asked several times whether you have already ordered. Unfortunately, the waiting times until the order is taken or you can pay are very long. The restaurant is clean, and this also applies to the toilet facilities. Unfortunately, in the last few years since opening, the quality of the ingredients has declined and the portions have become smaller. Ouzo is also no longer available quite as freely. However, the price-performance ratio is still above average. A special highlight is the regular buffet. There is also live music here. That's what makes it authentic. Unfortunately the guest room is very loud. We'd love to come back.

Greek food with a difference, the location is a former department store converted into a restaurant. So probably unique in itself. So from the food/taste to the cleanliness and the staff, I can't say anything negative. I left this place with a full stomach and very satisfied and will definitely go there again. The outdoor area is simply a covered area where there are tables and chairs. Personally, I would decorate it with maybe a few Greek statues or something similar. Large parking lot available right next to the restaurant.

It was a very nice evening, with a great ambience and great food... the service tried hard to serve everyone... it was the first time and definitely not the last time we were guests... Great tip for birthdays....🥳

I was a little disappointed yesterday. It was very loud inside, the food was okay without being exciting, we would have liked to have ordered something to drink, unfortunately we sat around unnoticed for 25 minutes. There was also no water bowl for the dog. You should be a little more attentive.

We really enjoyed it, the food was delicious and sitting outside was also very pleasant. Unfortunately, card payment with Visa or MasterCard is not possible, which unfortunately limited our payment process quite a bit.

We were in this restaurant for the first time today and we were really impressed. Very nice staff with a smile for everyone. The food, which was sumptuous, tasted extremely good and was delivered in a reasonable amount of time after ordering. The price/performance ratio is very good. All in all, we clearly recommend coming here and enjoying yourself. Keep it up👍 Addendum September 7th, 2024: it is full to the brim, almost all seats are occupied. The staff is quick and, despite the stress, has a nice smile for the guests and takes touching care of everyone. We feel very comfortable here! Eat: As a starter, spinach sheep's cheese dumplings were very tasty and beautifully presented Main course rice noodles with Metaxa sauce and cheese gratinated was quite OK. Noodles were very soft and the Metaxa sauce was quite tasty. Unfortunately little for vegetarians and nothing for vegans, even if it's a Greek you should have something ready these days. However, value for money is very good Service: some waiters clearly didn't feel like it at all. Very dismissive in body language. At least one waiter could smile and was friendly, the others were very cold. I felt relatively uncomfortable in the presence of the waiters. Ambiance Since this restaurant is very large and has an open concept, it is very loud. The decoration, labels and color coordination in the room were very beautiful and attractive. Map was classic, but not really beautifully designed. Toilets are clean and beautifully designed. Conclusion A mediocre restaurant with good food. The noise was quite unpleasant and the service was not good. Little meatless and meatless food Despite the good food, I felt uncomfortable.

It was very nice to sit on the terrace. Service extremely friendly and accommodating! The food was very tasty and the lunch portion was large for only €9.40 including the obligatory ouzo 😜 We were even offered an espresso or second ouzo, but we politely declined. We'll definitely be back!!!! 😘

One of my favorite restaurants in Halle. The waiters are always extremely friendly, regularly ask what they want and greet and say goodbye to each guest personally. When you leave the restaurant they literally sprint forward to open the door for you. Really outstanding service and the food is amazing. Always very happy.

Food good, service ok, atmosphere like a train station. When the outside temperature is warm, you notice that there is no building insulation. Old GDR department store in the GDR prefabricated building.

Yesterday we went to this restaurant for the first time with the family, there were nine of us there. First of all, anyone who likes peace and quiet. If you have a meal and like it to be cozy, there is no place for it as the restaurant is very large and has many large tables. The noise level is correspondingly high when you are there. Yesterday it was also very crowded and warm, you felt like you were on holiday in Turkey in a huge hotel. We had to wait a bit for our first round of drinks, but then it worked. The waiters were very helpful and friendly and brought the orders relatively quickly. The food was delicious, we had garlic bread as a starter so I didn't know it but it was ok. The main courses were all tasty and good. We can also recommend the cocktails. Some of the toilets are very narrow. In summer I would definitely always reserve tables outside as I suspect it will be very uncomfortably warm in there (it was yesterday). So if you like the typical loud ambience of Greek restaurants, you're in good hands here. If you like it quieter, maybe you shouldn't go. The food, drink and service were all very good. 👍🏻

The food and service were very good👍. Due to the size of the restaurant it is unfortunately very loud, hence "only" 3 stars. Being able to eat in peace and have a conversation is - once again - simply not possible!!!!

We have been here regularly since it opened. You are warmly welcomed at all times, the food is plentiful and delicious, and the staff are very friendly, even in stressful moments. Family celebrations are lovingly organized. The monthly live music attracts young and old. The MATI in our residential area has become a second living room - you feel welcomed, like family... Thanks for everything, keep it up!

Last year the waiters were nicer than when we visited today. Some of them even seemed quite arrogant. The food was pretty good and was delivered quickly, but we probably won't be back that quickly. Luckily there are many other restaurants in Halle.

We have been totally satisfied so far! There were four of us plus a grandchild there today, everything was OK until our bill came! We wanted to pay separately, stated what we ate, then came the hammer, I had to pay 152.80, three of us, two adults and a child, it seemed strange to me, I waited until the boss entered it in the terminal and I specifically asked for mine I asked for the receipt, then gave it to him, just a moment, her bill is wrong😥😥In the end I paid almost 90 euros, that was the last time I visited this restaurant for us..I'm not petty, but let's get fooled not... oh and my husband, he went to the toilet in between and had to throw up, so I asked my brother-in-law if he could check what was going on, quick info, he doesn't drink alcohol, So it could only have been because of the food... it's a shame actually, there were regular guests for two years...

We sat outside when the weather was nice. I decided on the surprise meal and was very surprised and satisfied. Very attentive and friendly service. Unfortunately, we weren't really satisfied with our last visit to Mati, the food was good but the service was the complete opposite. In three and a half hours I only had one beer and two ouzos, the first with the beer and the second with the payment. This was a very poor performance although the waiters came past our table very often and we were not worthy of a glance. Since I also mentioned this when paying, unfortunately no apology was forthcoming. Hoping to find the service you want on your next visit so that we can give you full points again.

For me one of the best Greek restaurants in Halle. I would happily recommend it!

We ate in the restaurant for the first time today. Everything was really great. Food, service and everything else too. I was visiting from Passau and I know when I'm back in Halle I'll definitely stop by. Thank you for the lovely evening.
