We went for lunch; they have a special lunch menu with tasty and reasonably priced food. Very friendly service.

First off: The food was plentiful and really good. The prices are reasonable. The waiters were quick and attentive. What we didn't like so much: The restaurant is VERY loud. It was packed. I have no idea how many people it can hold. A conversation is only possible if you lean over the table. Another point of criticism: There were about 10 seconds between the end of the appetizer and the serving of the main course. We suspect the main course had been sitting out for a while. The waiters kept checking how far along we were. Overall, it was almost like a "mass service." If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere, this isn't the place for you. If that doesn't bother you, you can eat really well there. But we probably won't be back. I prefer a quieter, less hectic environment. But again: The food was really good!

The restaurant is easy to find. On the day I was there, they were offering a buffet. As a result, it was extremely crowded, making a relaxed meal impossible. The server was very slow and then forgot to bring the food, probably because most people were eating from the buffet. The food itself was very good; there was nothing to complain about there. When the server was present, she was very friendly. The prices were reasonable.

In addition to all the positive aspects, another thing worth mentioning is the revitalization of the neighborhood. Previously, the corner was dead, and Mati was an abandoned supermarket. There were hardly any other restaurants in the area either. Mati is enhancing the entire neighborhood and bringing it to life, as it's located at a pedestrian hub. And that can't be overstated!

We visited the restaurant one evening with friends, and everyone was more than satisfied. The ambiance is truly lovely, and the food was truly delicious! Large portions at a fair price. My partner and I paid only €50 together (including tip). The noise level was normal, and it was easy to have a conversation. I would definitely recommend it!👍🏻

Very delicious food. Very good value for money. Plenty of seating, inside and outside. Very friendly, helpful, and dedicated staff, good teamwork despite the busy times. As a guest, you feel like you're being attentively served. Of course, the noise level in this restaurant is a bit higher due to its size and popularity, especially on weekends. But it would be sad if we all had nothing left to say to each other. There's also plenty of capacity for large celebrations. Many thanks to the great staff there!

Yes, it was the first time there and I was positively surprised. Only the dishes and cutlery are important, which is very nice. I myself am from the catering industry and I value cleanliness, especially the toilets.

We love it here. Everything from the typical Germanized Greek food to the authentic Greek Stifado tastes good, the ouzo is generous, and the service is usually very courteous and prompt. Despite the increased prices compared to last year, it still gets full marks. My personal favorite is the surprise plate.

I found it very loud. The service was attentive but overwhelmed. Starters, drinks, and main course all arrived at the same time, but the food was good.

We were in a group of 10 people, with prior reservation. Staff completely overwhelmed...crowds of people, so you had no chance of getting to the buffet. Disaster. We ended up ordering from the menu, which was just okay... We also had to wait quite a long time for the drinks. In the end, the calculation wasn't right either. We cannot recommend this restaurant.

The staff is super nice and makes you feel comfortable. The menu is like that of almost every Greek restaurant, unfortunately without any highlights or variety. There were also reasons to return the food, but this situation was resolved in a very friendly and courteous manner. We love being here and would love to come back.

Have been to Mati several times and now for the second time at an event. Unfortunately we were disappointed again, there is a difference whether you go at normal times or to a concert/ - all can your eat. The staff is simply not adapted even though there are more guests. This has an extreme effect on the waiting time and takes away the feeling of relaxation. The six of us were really disappointed. In addition, there were no desserts other than a small number of fruits. Waiting time when paying 45 minutes was about to leave without paying.

First time there. Table pre-ordered at the beginning of April, eaten on April 30th. Everything worked so far, air-conditioned room and we were on our own. Have ordered Buffett food, and I really recommend it, it's just delicious and it's always beautifully refilled. BUT the service... At the beginning everything was great until one of us didn't like the Paulaner. Something else was ordered to drink and that took... Took... Took... After 30 minutes I went to the counter and asked if the drink had been forgotten.... ANSWER: I'll be right back... 40 minutes later, a MAN goes there, the drink is there. ________________ Are they misogynistic?

More of a big pub atmosphere than a restaurant atmosphere! We went for a birthday dinner with 14 people. Despite booking 4 weeks in advance, we didn't get any consecutive seats. After us, many people were turned away despite reservations. Because there were so many people, there was a penetratingly high noise level the entire time. The service staff seemed extremely annoyed with every order and a lot of things were simply forgotten while eating. However, there was nothing to complain about in terms of quality or taste. Conclusion: Not a restaurant for a cozy evening!

If I only rate the food, definitely YES. The four of us were in this restaurant today from 6:00 p.m. Every meal we ordered was delicious, without any compromises. But the later it got, it got extremely loud at times, and it was very busy - which speaks for the quality of the food. Unfortunately we didn't receive anything from our second drink order. After a long wait we decided to go to the counter and pay.

The service and food there is first class

Best gyros in front of the gentleman with a sufficient portion of tzatziki. The tomato rice is always just overcooked rice with ketchup elsewhere, but here the rice is really well made and delicious. The outside of the building is ghetto-like but the inside is okay. I liked the high benches on the left side because they offer privacy.

When you come across the back yard, it doesn't really look inviting and you think about turning back. When you arrive inside, you are greeted politely and taken to your seat. The food tasted good, but not amazing or plentiful. All in all, you can do it, but you don't have to, there are better Greek restaurants.

The food at Mati tastes very good and is served quickly. We feel very comfortable here! If you wait a little longer, a quarter liter of ouzo will help. Always happy ☺️

No ouzo, neither before nor after the meal. Food was carelessly prepared and you had to wait a really long time. The ambience in the back area was like a beer garden. Waiters walked around haphazardly. To pay you had to go to the counter and say what you had ordered. You could have just left and no one would have noticed. There are plenty of other Greeks who are much better. Never again

There were 20 of us in the restaurant and we were very surprised. Typically Greek, large and cozy. There was something for everyone to eat and the prices were also very reasonable. It was delicious and definitely recommended.

The gyro was cold but tasted good. The salad is presented a bit carelessly and the sauce from the bucket is simply slapped on top. Metaxa sauce tasted like ready-made sauce. There was an extra children's menu, which is good, but the prices for the children's meals are completely overpriced. Almost 9 or 10 Eur for fries with 4 chicken nuggets. Unfortunately, despite the lack of activity, the staff wasn't very attentive. Too bad.

We order in advance by phone on weekends or public holidays, so we always get a table. During the week there is a lunch menu, smaller, cheaper dishes, you will still be full and everything is freshly prepared. For us in the south of Halle it's a perfect place to eat. 😊👍

I have never experienced such unfriendly Greeks. Full plates constantly wanted to be cleared away. We couldn't enjoy the starter in peace. We ordered 2x tzatziki for 4 people, unfortunately only 2 slices of bread were included, for 4 people??? Food was very good. Ambiance is reminiscent of a train station hall.

We were there for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. The food tasted great and was quick too. Service was very nice. We sat outside, I don't know what it looks like inside. Gladly a second time! Today I was at Mati, the food was great again, but the service left a lot to be desired today. After we had our food and drink, the service took a long time before anyone came again. Paying was the worst part, we waited for over half an hour, then we asked and finally everyone had to go to the checkout. Nobody came to the table to pay. Very bad!

I was there for a buffet at the end of November 2024. €19.99 excluding drinks that was okay. The restaurant is large and spacious, very clean. The buffet itself was very adequate and was constantly being refreshed. It also tasted good. It was all there. Fruit and vegetables available separately. The service was good it went smoothly and quickly. With 2 drinks 30€ that was okay. Negatively, I missed fries and no honey balls that I had been looking forward to for so long. From the outside, the Greek restaurant Mati looks like a dilapidated former GDR department store, circa 1980.... But when you turn the corner, the sight of the large, spacious outdoor terrace makes your eyes widen. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, has a nice atmosphere and is cozy. The service staff is very friendly and hardworking.. The food is very tasty and the waiting time from ordering to serving was very good, about half an hour. We really, really enjoyed our time at Mati. We will come back and recommend this restaurant.

The food was okay, I don't think you can expect much more given the size of the restaurant. The staff was super nice and quick. There was also ouzo... sometimes in between. The background noise is terrible. We were there on Saturday...every table was occupied...it was hard to communicate because of the noise at the table. It's a former department store...

Eating was great, a little quick after each other. Service disinterested and not interested in sales. Waiting time after the main course was an enormous 25 minutes. We just wanted to order something and then just paid. The restaurant wasn't more comfortable, unfortunately it wasn't for us - there are better ones.
